    Xiao Jin Returns

Jiang Jinyi was playing with the kitten using a teaser wand when Xiao Yu, who was pouncing and jumping around, suddenly froze. The kitten turned and bolted out the door.

    Jiang Jinyi: ???

She climbed out of bed and followed. When she reached the hallway, she only caught a glimpse of Xiao Yu’s big, fluffy tail slipping into Jiang Youwan’s room before it vanished.

Why does she keep running to Jiang Youwan’s room? Does she really like Jiang Youwan that much? Jiang Jinyi thought huffily. This time, I’m absolutely holding it to sleep!

And so, just like countless times before, she followed Xiao Yu straight into Jiang Youwan’s room.

She pushed the door open. Jiang Youwan was leaning back against the headboard, holding Xiao Yu in her arms and stroking her head, stroke by stroke. The kitten, thoroughly enjoying the attention, purred softly and rubbed itself deeper into her embrace.

Jiang Youwan was wearing a camisole with a particularly low-cut neckline. Seeing this, Jiang Jinyi felt her cheeks warm slightly. She looked away, an inexplicable spark of jealousy flaring up in her chest.

Jiang Youwan lazily lifted her gaze, a half-smile playing on her lips. “What is it?”

Jiang Jinyi muttered unhappily, sitting down on the edge of Jiang Youwan’s bed. “Why does she always run over here? We agreed she was sleeping with me.”

“Oh?” Jiang Youwan looked down at the kitten in her arms. “Xiao Yu, did you really promise to sleep with Xiao Jin tonight?”

Xiao Yu was a classic jiazi cat1. She let out a dainty, high-pitched meow and snuggled deeper into Jiang Youwan’s embrace, looking back at Jiang Jinyi with an innocent gaze. Her eyes were round, bright, and incredibly beautiful.

Jiang Youwan said in a helpless tone, “What can we do? It seems she really does like me just a little bit more.”

“Ah…” Jiang Jinyi thought, crestfallen. It was Jiang Youwan who had brought her home, so it made sense that she preferred Jiang Youwan.

But still, Jiang Youwan had said this was her cat. Her own cat should love her the most!

“Or maybe the feng shui in my room is just better, and she likes it more,” Jiang Youwan added, seeing her dejected expression.

“It’s fine, the three of us can play together.” Jiang Youwan leaned down and tapped the kitten’s head with her finger. “Be good, Xiao Yu. Xiao Jin is upset. Go comfort her, alright?”

With a soft meow, Xiao Yu left Jiang Youwan’s arms and curled up in her little master’s lap, starting to comfort her.

She meowed and rolled over to show her belly, knowing exactly how to please her.

“Isn’t she great at acting spoiled? You know, when I went to the cattery to pick a cat, I fell in love with her at first sight because she reminded me so much of you—a clumsy beauty2.”

    A clumsy beauty?

“I’m not a dummy.” Jiang Youwan had called her a bastard several times today, and now she was calling her a dummy. Yet none of it felt like an actual insult. It was always laced with such indulgence that she could not find it in herself to feel upset.

In fact, she even liked it a little.

    “You’re the dummy.”

Jiang Youwan tilted her head to look at her profile, a faint smile playing on her lips. She remained noncommittal to her protest.

A dummy playing with a silly kitten—it was an incredibly pleasing sight. What made Jiang Youwan feel even more comfortable was that this was her domain.

She loved having Xiao Jin in her room, completely uninhibited and free of constraints.

Outside, the rain fell heavier, but inside the bedroom, it was exceptionally warm and cozy.

Jiang Youwan leaned over and pulled the duvet over Jiang Jinyi. “It gets chilly when it rains. Cover up a bit.”

Jiang Jinyi obediently snuggled under the covers. Jiang Youwan’s duvet was incredibly fragrant, saturated with her scent. It was so soft that lying in it felt like being wrapped in cotton and the fragrance of datura blossoms.

This was not the first time Jiang Jinyi had slept in Jiang Youwan’s bed. The last time seemed to have been when she was drunk. She had stumbled blindly into the room, collapsed onto Jiang Youwan’s bed, and fallen fast asleep. When she opened her eyes the next morning, the first thing she saw was Jiang Youwan’s sleeping face.

It had been so embarrassing. She had even demanded to know why Jiang Youwan was in her bed, only for Jiang Youwan to lazily open her eyes and say with absolute innocence, “This is my bed.”

Only then did Jiang Jinyi realize why Jiang Youwan had claimed she refused to wake up no matter how hard she tried.

“Your duvet is so soft. What brand is it?”

Jiang Youwan drew closer, resting her chin lightly on her shoulder. Her eyes were fixed on the kitten in her arms, occasionally teasing it with her finger as she said, “It’s the same as yours, Xiao Jin.”

Such close proximity and intimate actions did not make Jiang Jinyi feel the slightest discomfort. She said, “It feels so different, though.”

    “Does it feel comfortable?”

Jiang Jinyi thought for a moment and said, “It’s more comfortable than almost any other bed I’ve slept in.”

“Oh?” Jiang Youwan narrowed her eyes. “You’ve slept in a lot of beds? Which ones?”

“Why are you asking me that?”

Jiang Youwan did not answer. Instead, she pried further, “Tell jiejie?”

Her questioning was not forceful, but soft and enticing. Even the most absurd questions made one feel compelled to answer.

Jiang Jinyi thought to herself that outsiders would certainly never know Jiang Youwan had such a soft, tender side to her.

Without overthinking why Jiang Youwan was asking, she began counting on her fingers. “I’ve slept in hotel beds, my own bed, hospital beds, and the bed in my Bei City apartment… Um… I think that’s it.”

Jiang Youwan thought to herself, Even if there were others, you’ve forgotten them.

But Xiao Jin was pampered by nature and a clean freak; she was highly fastidious about other people’s beds, so she would not climb into just anyone’s bed.

She did not like getting physically close to others either, rarely holding hands or hugging.

Only she was allowed this level of intimacy with Jiang Jinyi.

The thought immediately brought a wave of pleasure to Jiang Youwan’s heart. She clung even closer, leaning her entire body against Jiang Jinyi. Reaching around, she wrapped an arm around her waist, holding her tight, as if trying to prevent her from leaving the bed.

Meanwhile, Jiang Jinyi’s attention was fully occupied by the kitten, so she failed to notice her subtle maneuvering.

They played for a while longer. Around eleven-thirty, Jiang Jinyi grew sleepy and yawned a few times. Jiang Youwan picked up the kitten and set her down on the other side of the bed. Xiao Yu seemed tired too; she crawled over to a red fox plushie, curled up beside it, and drifted off into a deep sleep.

Heavy with sleep, Jiang Jinyi’s consciousness grew hazy. She could not remember if she had lain down on her own accord or if Jiang Youwan had coaxed her into it, but she found herself resting her head on Jiang Youwan’s pillow. Its softness only deepened her drowsiness. She shifted slightly to find a comfortable position, wanting nothing more than to close her eyes.

She did not see how Jiang Youwan’s eyes curved, her deep gaze shimmering with a trace of triumphant mischief.

A dummy was indeed a dummy. It was so easy to lure her into bed.

“Goodnight~” she whispered softly, leaning in close to her ear.

Jiang Jinyi felt the warm breath tickling her ear. Her body shuddered involuntarily, her heart rate spiking and her breathing growing erratic.

All traces of drowsiness vanished instantly.

Why did Jiang Youwan have to lean so close and say goodnight in such an intimate tone?

    It felt almost as if…

When she had believed Jiang Youwan was her biological sister, she would never have overthought these things. But now that she knew they shared no blood relation, she could not help but…

    Let her imagination run wild.

And it was not just tonight. Jiang Youwan was always initiating intimate contact with her—kissing her cheek, letting Jinyi bury her face in her shoulder, whispering in her ear, and being incredibly resistant to the idea of her falling in love or dating…

But… but surely these physical interactions were normal between close sisters, right?

Jiang Jinyi turned her head to look at the woman beside her. She had already closed her eyes, sleeping in a refined and graceful posture, blissfully unaware of the chaos she had stirred in someone else’s heart.

Jiang Jinyi decided she was overthinking things again. Jiang Youwan simply treated her as a younger sister, even if they were not related by blood.

She shifted positions again and closed her eyes, the chaotic thoughts in her mind gradually dissolving as sleep reclaimed her.

In the middle of the night.

Jiang Jinyi woke up in a daze, feeling her body growing increasingly hot. No, to be precise, her embrace was growing hotter, and something was squirming against her, prompting her to kick off the duvet and struggle to open her eyes, frowning.

Feeling as if her body was wrapped in the limbs of an octopus, she looked down. A round head was buried deep in the crook of her neck, trying to bury itself even deeper.

“Jiang Youwan, you…” Jiang Jinyi pushed her back in shock, only to find Jiang Youwan’s face flushed deep crimson. Her eyes were half-closed, hazy and disoriented, and her lips parted slightly. She looked exactly like those women described in novels who had fallen under the spell of a love potion.

The air was thick with the heavy, intoxicating fragrance of datura blossoms, sweet and dizzying.

Jiang Jinyi could not regain her composure, entirely mesmerized by her current appearance.

Under the overwhelming influence of the SSS-class omega’s pheromones, her own body began to undergo a subtle, unfamiliar change. The gland on the back of her neck throbbed with a dull ache, a sensation slightly different from her usual pre-heat symptoms…

    What was happening?

Jiang Youwan looked at Jiang Jinyi, her voice incredibly weak. “Xiao Jin… Xiao Jin… I think… I’ve gone into heat…” Even her words were halting and breathless.

Heat? She had gone into heat?

Jiang Jinyi blinked, forcing her mind back to reality. Her thoughts raced. What does an omega do when their heat starts? Right, they need a suppressant.

“Don’t be scared. I’ll go find your suppressants. Where do you keep them?” she asked urgently.

Frowning, Jiang Youwan shook her head. She seemed to be in immense pain, her body instinctively rubbing against Jiang Jinyi. The closer she pressed, the more pronounced Jiang Jinyi’s own physical reaction became. Jiang Jinyi could feel her gland on the back of her neck burning hotter, relentlessly assailed by the other omega’s pheromones.

“Just bear with it for a moment, I’ll find your suppressants.” Being an omega herself, Jiang Jinyi knew how unbearable an unresolved heat could be. Bent on finding the medicine, she broke away from Jiang Youwan’s grip and began rummaging through drawers and cabinets. Despite searching frantically while fighting off her own growing discomfort, she could not find a single trace of any suppressants.

Oh no. It seemed Jiang Youwan had not prepared any suppressants.

“Xiao Jin… Xiao Jin, come back…” Jiang Youwan called out pleadingly from the bed, writhing in discomfort. Jiang Jinyi’s heart ached at the sight. She hurried back to the bed, but the moment she drew near, her own body flared up in response. Though the reaction was not overwhelming, it was impossible to ignore.

    Why was this happening??

A sudden thought struck Jiang Jinyi, and her eyes widened in realization.

In biology class, they had learned that during an omega’s heat, her pheromones would instinctively trigger a rut in an alpha who loved her. However, if the person who loved her was also an omega, she would be forced into heat as well.

So… was her body reacting now because she was under Jiang Youwan’s influence?

“Xiao Jin, why won’t you come near me? Do you find me repulsive?” Jiang Youwan’s weak, aggrieved voice snapped Jiang Jinyi out of her thoughts. Seeing her crawl toward her step by step on the mattress, Jiang Jinyi’s heart softened. She rushed forward and pulled her into a firm embrace, holding her still.

Jiang Youwan’s eyes brimmed with tears of unreadable emotion as she looked up helplessly. Holding her body, Jiang Jinyi did not dare look her in the eye. Her heart beat frantically, completely at a loss.

Jiang Youwan was always composed, logical, and in control, rarely showing any vulnerability. The last time Jinyi had seen her lose her composure was when she woke up in the hospital, and Youwan had been crying. Now, however, she was outright seducing her.

The contrast was simply too enticing.

Jiang Jinyi’s mind spun, searching for a way to soothe Jiang Youwan. If they did not find a solution soon, she felt she would lose control too.

Without suppressants, they could not mark each other, but she could still use her pheromones to soothe her.

“Xiao Jin, jiejie hurts…” Jiang Youwan’s arms wound around her neck like a water snake, clinging to her, her cheek rubbing against Jinyi’s in utter dependence.

It was enough to make anyone’s face flush and heart race.

Perhaps the madness of the heat provided the perfect excuse. Without warning, Jiang Youwan lost all restraint, cupped Jiang Jinyi’s face, tilted her head up, and pressed her lips to hers. Catching her off guard and frozen in shock, she slipped her tongue inside, deepening the kiss.

Jiang Jinyi froze entirely. It took several seconds before she managed to push her away. Her face burned so hot she felt as if she might explode.

Her brain screamed at her that she had just been forcefully kissed by Jiang Youwan.

    Forcefully kissed by Jiang Youwan…

She turned her eyes back toward her, calling in a thick, nasal voice, “Xiao Jin…” Her eyes were seductive, capable of bewitching anyone.

Jiang Jinyi’s heart hammered violently. In a sudden movement, she pinned Jiang Youwan’s hands and pulled her tightly into her chest.

    “Y-You’re not allowed to move!”

With her body pinned securely by Jiang Jinyi, Jiang Youwan could no longer squirm or act up.

Fighting through her own discomfort, Jiang Jinyi began to release her pheromones. The floral scent of hyacinths flooded the room, gently wrapping around Jiang Youwan to soothe her.

The restless, frantic datura scent in the air gradually quieted, slowly intertwining with the hyacinth in a quiet, beautiful embrace.

Gradually, the woman in her arms stopped struggling. She snuggled quietly against Jiang Jinyi’s chest, looking up with weak, tear-filled eyes. Jiang Jinyi’s heart trembled under that gaze as the memory and physical sensation of the forced kiss replayed on an endless loop in her mind.

She quickly looked away, terrified that Jiang Youwan might lean in for another kiss.

Because she had turned her head, Jiang Jinyi could not see the smile on Jiang Youwan’s face. It was faint and weak, yet bore the unmistakable satisfaction of an insatiable fox.

It’s still not enough… Pheromonal comfort alone is nowhere near enough to appease an omega in heat… Xiao Jin, you dummy, you wimp3.

She smiled softly and buried her face in the crook of Jiang Jinyi’s neck, breathing shallowly. Her breath fanned across Jiang Jinyi’s skin, flushing a large patch of it crimson. Just as Jiang Jinyi could bear it no longer and was about to push her away, Jiang Youwan suddenly bit her, leaving a neat row of teeth marks.
