    Stolen Love

    Won’t Let You Go

Jiang Jinyi went to Bei City — a place she had barely visited in her eighteen years.

Jiang Youwan never expected her to leave so decisively, so quietly.

Everyone around Jiang Jinyi had known her first choice: Luocheng Art Academy.

Back then she had said she didn’t want to go too far from home. Her home was the best and most comfortable place in the world — it had her cats, the flowers she planted, and the people she cared about who cared about her too.

She had said it at a classmate’s birthday party. Someone asked where she planned to go for university, and that was her answer — she wouldn’t go far.

At that time, Jiang Youwan was by her side in the role of her jiejie. Hearing those words, a smile lifted the corner of her lips. She picked out the plumpest crab leg — Jinyi’s favorite — dipped it in sauce, and held it to Jinyi’s mouth for her to eat, as if rewarding her.

The others all envied Jiang Jinyi. The birthday girl even joined in the teasing, saying she wanted jiejie to feed her too. Youwan laughed, peeled a shrimp, and fed the birthday girl just once — and Jinyi was not happy about it. She was petty about it, her gaze full of resentment, and even the birthday cake lost its appeal.

This birthday girl had just turned eighteen and wanted to experience grown-up fun right away, so she bought lots of alcohol and organized drinking games like adults play. Jiang Jinyi was a game black hole — she lost the very first round. Youwan tried to drink for her, and their friends teased: “Jiang Jinyi, you’re such a jiejie’s girl1 — you need your jiejie to feed you at dinner, and even though you’re an adult now, you need your jiejie to drink for you too.”

“Can’t survive without your jiejie, can you?”

Jiang Jinyi at that age cared about her pride — how could she stomach such mockery? She stubbornly insisted on drinking every losing cup herself, and ended up dead drunk, supported by Youwan as they stumbled out of the restaurant.

Youwan gave her an affectionate scolding. “Xiao Jin lost so many times — how come you didn’t let your jiejie drink for you even once? Look at you now, drunk off your feet, and you still need your jiejie to hold you up.”

That only made her temper flare. She shook off Youwan’s hand and refused her support, puffing with anger as she tried to walk on her own, nearly tripping.

“What are you throwing a tantrum for?” Youwan grabbed her cheek with an exasperated laugh, but Jinyi turned the question back on her in outrage: “You can feed other people — does that mean you’ll drink for other people too?”

Looking at her drunk-flushed face, Youwan figured she was so far gone she probably didn’t even know who she was anymore — but to her surprise, Jinyi still remembered what had just happened.

She held grudges like this. Her jealousy was that fierce.

“She’s obviously my jiejie and no one else’s — why’d you have to feed someone else!”

    “…….”

Youwan truly loved watching Jiang Jinyi get jealous over her. She enjoyed the process of coaxing her through it — patiently reassuring her, then calculatingly bargaining for conditions.

Once patiently coaxed into a better mood, she was back to her uninhibited self, acting out her drunken antics. She trotted home, refused to shower, and dug through the closet for an outfit to change into — a cat maid costume, complete with a tail. After putting it on, she wagged the tail at Youwan, making the gesture with eyes so pure and innocent, blinking at her as if to ask, “Don’t I look cute?”

Youwan narrowed her eyes. She studied her for a long moment, then nodded. “Cute.”

Youwan couldn’t resist grabbing her tail. She leaned in and murmured a warning: “The kind of cute that gets eaten up by bad people. So Xiao Jin can’t go wearing this kind of thing in front of others anymore, understood?”

After she said that, Jinyi didn’t look afraid at all. Instead, she narrowed her eyes and stared at her.

She stared for a long moment, then said in a low, knowing voice, “I think you want to eat me up too.”

Youwan raised an eyebrow and chuckled. Jinyi suddenly yanked the cat tail out of her hand.

    “Why’d you grab my tail!”

Fine then. Youwan let go, and Jinyi went back to wagging her tail, wagging it nonstop. Youwan let her wag to her heart’s content, and once she’d had enough, led her to the bathroom.

The way she was swaying with every step — there was no way she could bathe herself.

This was the first time Youwan bathed her.

    “Look, I blew a bubble!”

    “Ah… it popped…”

She wouldn’t stop fooling around. Youwan was at her wit’s end.

They finally finished bathing and getting dressed, but Jinyi still wouldn’t behave. She weaved unsteadily toward her room to sleep, too dizzy to think straight, and without so much as a glance, shoved open a door, threw herself onto the large bed, hugged a pillow, mumbled goodnight, and was out.

Youwan stood in the doorway like a fox watching a rabbit throw itself against a tree stump. She sighed, shook her head, smiled, and walked into her own territory, pulling the door shut behind her.

There were many moments like this.

Jiang Jinyi was too naive. Youwan constantly worried she would be deceived, worried she’d wag her tail at someone else when drunk — too many worries to count.

So she hired people to protect her in secret, eliminating every potential danger around her.

Seeing each other became a luxury. Youwan had been deleted from her WeChat, so she could only secretly follow her Weibo, and had people forward her the photos Jinyi posted on her WeChat Moments — saving them, looking at them over and over for long stretches, many times.

She had also gone to Bei City many times, but each time she could only stop at a distance. She knew Xiao Jin didn’t want to see her.

As time passed, Jiang Jinyi learned to wear sexy camisole tops, towering high heels, and bold, vivid makeup. She had grown up — and the older she got, the more captivating she became, dazzling and uninhibited, endlessly beautiful.

Youwan gazed deeply at the photos of this Xiao Jin who looked less and less like the one in her memories, and couldn’t help thinking with bitter reluctance — if only she had discovered it sooner and saved Xiao Yu, if her own identity hadn’t been so unspeakable…

If only she and Xiao Jin hadn’t met the way they did.

    Would things have been different?

But these were only her fantasies. There were no “what ifs” in this world.

Separated by cities, spring giving way to autumn, she still protected her well.

The peaceful life lasted a few years. The Jiang Family and the Liang Family developed some cooperation and exchanges, even discussing a marriage alliance. Jiang Ningshu proposed marrying her biological daughter — Jiang Jinyi — to the eldest son of the Liang Family, Liang Wei.

Liang Wei was very much in favor. Ningshu said she had a way to bring Xiao Jin back.

And what kind of way was that? Nothing more than making her life away from home worse and worse — even subjecting her to suffering — until she couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to come home.

Once the Eldest Miss swallowed her pride and came home pitifully, she would naturally do whatever the family arranged and obey obediently.

But not long after, Jiang Ningshu was reported for hiding a corpse in her villa. Then she fled from justice, and died in a car crash.

In April of the fourth year, Youwan finally saw her at the funeral.

    The peace was shattered completely.

Jiang Jinyi refused to believe her mother was a murderer. She was convinced that this fake older sister, Jiang Youwan, had orchestrated the whole conspiracy to swallow up the Jiang Family.

To be honest, it hurt Youwan a little. So in these four years, her image in Jiang Jinyi’s heart had never changed.

Jinyi was making a fuss again, her temper no better than four years ago. But the progress was that she had also learned to send Youwan sexy photos to seduce her.

They kissed. Youwan had been in heat, and unable to suppress her feelings, she kissed her by force.

And then was successfully played by her.

Youwan realized that Jiang Jinyi’s feelings toward her seemed to have shifted from dislike to hate.

What kind of person was Jiang Jinyi? Willful and stubborn, spoiled yet resilient, fierce in love and fierce in hate.

    “Jiang Youwan, I hate you.”

“It’s all your fault. You turned my life into a mess. Your appearance was the greatest curse of my life.”

    “Your affection makes me sick!”

The moment that Buddha bead bracelet was torn apart by her own hands, Youwan’s heart shattered to pieces, and she felt she was going mad.

    Agonizing enough to die.

Youwan’s eyes snapped open. Her chest heaved violently, her breathing ragged, as she searched desperately for Jiang Jinyi.

She hadn’t had a nightmare like this in a long time. For a moment she couldn’t tell dream from reality. Panic flooded her as she kept calling Jiang Jinyi’s name: “Xiao Jin, Xiao Jin…”

She threw off the covers to go find her, but before her feet touched the floor, she saw a figure walking toward her. In the dim light, Youwan recognized her — it was Xiao Jin.

She clutched the bedding in her fists, watching her approach step by step, waiting for her reaction, waiting for her to speak.

Whether because of the nightmare or not, a vague, terrible premonition crept over her.

“What’s wrong?” Jiang Jinyi was holding a cup of water. “I got a little thirsty and went to get a drink. Why are you up, Jiejie?”

The same sweet, soft tone as four years ago, still calling her jiejie. Youwan let out a breath of relief. Jinyi held the water to her lips. “You seem to have sweated. Do you want some?”

    “Mm…”

Youwan was indeed thirsty. She drank deeply from Jinyi’s hand, and the half cup of water was gone in no time. Not enough.

Youwan swiftly set the cup down on the nightstand, grabbed Jinyi by the collar, pulled her down, and pressed her lips against hers.

The sudden kiss left Jinyi dazed for a moment before she was drawn in, parting her lips to receive the not-so-gentle intrusion — tongues tangling, thick with tenderness and sweetness.

In the dim, intimate light, their pheromones mingled without distinction.

Jinyi’s chin was held in Youwan’s grip, kissed until her eyes reddened, released only when she was about to suffocate.

She had barely caught her breath when Youwan kissed her again. When they parted, a glistening thread of silver stretched between the corners of their mouths and broke — both their lips wet and shining.

“What’s wrong with you, really — in the middle of the night…” Jinyi’s face was flushed completely red. She turned her head away in embarrassment and muttered under her breath.

Her heart was racing, her face burning — how was she supposed to sleep like this… Jinyi quietly suppressed her own pheromones, cursing herself internally for being so weak.

    She’d get teased again later…

Youwan was still breathing hard herself, the corners of her eyes reddened. She drew the lingering wetness from Jinyi’s lips into her own mouth, her seductive gaze fixed on that flushed face, and said with a sexy nasal tone, half-coaxing, half-commanding: “Jiejie wants to hold you.”

Her voice was like a hook, and Jinyi was caught by it. She bent down, held her, and lay back on the bed.

Youwan wrapped her arms around her waist, held her tight, and buried her face in her neck, breathing in her scent — commanding yet fragile.

Jinyi couldn’t refuse this version of Youwan. She liked it but was also a little worried. She lowered her long, fan-like lashes. “What’s wrong, Jiejie?”

Youwan said softly, “Jiejie had a nightmare.” A terrible nightmare.

A nightmare? This was the first time Youwan had told her she’d had a nightmare. Jinyi’s heart ached, and she held her tighter. “Don’t be afraid. I’m right here, holding you. The nightmares won’t come for you again.”

Those words really struck a chord in Youwan.

They almost made her want to cry.

“Will Xiao Jin always be here?” Youwan believed that what Jinyi said in this moment came from the heart — but she also understood that this was only love she had stolen.

Jinyi immediately gave her an affirmative answer. “Of course I will. Why wouldn’t I?”

The mere thought of leaving Youwan was unbearable to her.

She knew Youwan might not feel very secure right now. To reassure her, she said in a voice barely audible: “I can’t leave jiejie anymore.”

Youwan drew back from her embrace, propped herself up, and swept her cascading long hair behind her ear. She looked into her eyes — a pair of fox eyes like a gentle whirlpool. “If one day you insist on leaving, what then?”

This nightmare reminded her: Jiang Jinyi’s memories could return at any time.

Once they did, she would leave — and she would never be able to truly feel at peace.

Jinyi wanted to say she wouldn’t leave, but she hesitated. Something crossed her mind. She swallowed hard and said in a hoarse voice, “Then… don’t let me go, okay?”

Youwan gazed at her deeply. “If I don’t let you go, will you really stay?”

    “Mm.” Jinyi nodded. “I’ll stay.”

“Is Xiao Jin sober right now?” Youwan asked, exceedingly gentle.

“I am…” She said she was sober, but Jinyi felt herself being hypnotized by the whirlpool in her eyes.

“Can jiejie tattoo her name on your body?”

Youwan audaciously revealed the tip of the iceberg of her inner thoughts: “If you want to leave, can jiejie put a collar on you and tether you at home? And if you’re not obedient, you’ll get whipped.”

Jinyi hesitated for a moment. “You can…”

Youwan gave a soft laugh, her voice so gentle it was almost hypnotic. “Can jiejie feed you aphrodisiacs, keep you in your sensitive period every day, so you can never leave jiejie no matter what?”

Jinyi’s jaw tightened, her eyes showing a hint of surprise and nervousness. “You can, but then…”

    Jinyi hesitated.

    But so what?

Sensing herself sinking deeper and deeper into the whirlpool, she surrendered — completely submerged.

“Jiejie can do whatever she wants to me.”

Youwan reached a hand to cup her warm cheek, then pressed a kiss to her lips like sealing a contract. “You said it yourself. I won’t let you go.”

“Don’t let me go. I want to be with jiejie forever.”

Even after those words, Youwan still had a deeply uneasy premonition — but all that unease had transformed into an ever-intensifying possessiveness and need for control.

But no matter how tightly she held on — both the tenderness they shared in this moment and she herself felt as though they were teetering on the edge of losing control.
