    Devouring Jiejie

    You’re right, I’m so annoying…

But comforting her was completely useless. In fact, the more Jiang Youwan tried to soothe her, the harder Jiang Jinyi cried, covering her face and refusing to let her look.

The pheromones grew increasingly fierce, and Jiang Youwan was utterly defenseless. She discovered she had absolutely no resistance against Xiao Jin’s pheromones now that her meimei had differentiated into an Alpha.

Who could’ve imagined it? The elite female executive, who seemed so cold, elegant, and untouched by worldly desires to onlookers, was currently in a haunted house, about to be driven into heat on the spot by her own meimei.

On the outside, she was smartly dressed in her suit; on the inside, she was already a flooded mess.

Jiang Youwan’s cheeks were flushed, her lips parted slightly, and desire hid within her alluring eyes.

She glanced at the hanging ghost, temporarily having no interest in letting others watch them, which was a bit of a pity. Seeing that gentle coaxing didn’t work, she turned forceful, pinching Jiang Jinyi’s chin. Her voice turned cold. “Shut up. No more crying.”

Jiang Jinyi froze. Jiang Youwan was actually being so harsh with her. She felt even more aggrieved, but she really didn’t dare cry anymore. She stared at Jiang Youwan with a pitiful, wounded expression, sobbing softly now and then. Her eyes remained brimmed with tears, which continued to spill down her cheeks.

She couldn’t cry anymore. Jiejie was annoyed.

Believing she’d been frightened by the haunted house, Jiang Youwan felt a mixture of helplessness and amusement. She pressed close to her, wiping away her tears, and teased, “Xiao Jin is so smart. Didn’t you know they’re all fake? Jiejie’s here now, so what’s there to be afraid of?”

Jiang Jinyi remained silent. She wasn’t afraid of the haunted house at all now; she just felt incredibly embarrassed. She’d humiliated herself completely!

She turned her head away, refusing to let Jiang Youwan touch her face, and muttered testily, “Why are you here?”

Jiang Youwan’s face grew redder, her breath coming in shallow pants as she answered, “This amusement park belongs to our family…”

Her body was soft as though she had no bones. She shot her a petulant look, commanding, “Stop crying. Hurry up and carry Jiejie out.”

Only then did Jiang Jinyi realize her body temperature was alarmingly high. Jiang Youwan was plastered almost entirely against her, her body soft as water. Her eyes, usually so sharp and calculating, were glazed and alluring. She was clearly in heat…

Jiang Jinyi’s jaw tightened. She took one look into those eyes before averting her gaze in a panic, her eyelashes trembling, not daring to look again.

“How… how did you go into heat…?”

“You have the nerve to ask?” Jiang Youwan’s soft, seductive voice carried a hint of petulance. “It’s all because of you, you little bastard.”

Only then did Jiang Jinyi realize she’d been too agitated earlier, leaking her pheromones everywhere without even noticing. She hastily tried to rein them in.

But it was already too late. Jiang Youwan had wrapped herself tightly around her waist like a water snake, refusing to let go. Leaning in close to her ear, Jiang Youwan exhaled a breath as sweet as orchids. “It’s so hot. Carry Jiejie away quickly… unless you want to be eaten up by Jiejie…”

The words “eaten up” were spoken so softly and ambiguously that Jiang Jinyi’s face flushed and her heart raced. Obediently, she scooped her up, cradling her awkwardly in a bridal carry.

Jiang Youwan wasn’t heavy. Jiang Jinyi could carry her even when she was still an Omega, so she could easily do so now. Jiang Youwan wrapped her arms around her neck and buried her face in the crook of her shoulder. Taking advantage of her heat, she pressed close, planting soft kisses and nipping gently at her skin. Whenever Jiang Jinyi moved her neck, she let out a dissatisfied hum and chased after her with her lips.

She was a vixen. A vixen intent on devouring her.

Her face burning, Jiang Jinyi hurried toward the exit. She was no longer afraid of the ghosts; she was far more terrified of Jiang Youwan “eating her up.”

She already has a girlfriend! How can she say things like that to her meimei!

Outside the haunted house, Xu An and Ji Xiaoqin stood waiting. They watched with wide eyes as Jiang Jinyi carried Jiang Youwan out. Jiang Jinyi had been crying hard earlier; her face was still streaked with tears and her eyes were swollen, yet her cheeks were flushed crimson under the torment of the vixen in her arms. The vixen clung tightly to her neck, locking her in a firm embrace while casting seductive, possessive glances at others from time to time.

There was an indescribable tension between them.

“Holy crap.” Stunned, Xu An glanced at Ji Xiaoqin standing beside her. Seeing that her face had turned bright red, she quickly covered her eyes. “Don’t look…”

Jiang Jinyi fished the car keys out of Jiang Youwan’s suit pocket, unlocked the back door, and placed her inside. To her surprise, Jiang Youwan didn’t let go at all. She pulled Jiang Jinyi into the car with sudden force, using her foot to hook the door shut behind them. In an instant, it became a closed space for just the two of them.

Jiang Jinyi’s eyes widened, as if she’d entered a spider’s den. The air was still thick with an incredibly rich “alluring fragrance.” The Omega’s pheromones clamored to arouse her sinful desire for her jiejie. She tried to sit up and escape, but Jiang Youwan locked her legs around her waist, her bedroom eyes brimming with endless charm.

With a dazed look, Jiang Jinyi was so mesmerized she forgot to struggle for a moment. It was only when Jiang Youwan held her head to make her kiss her that her rationality sluggishly struggled out of this somewhat forceful, gentle trap. Her face was so red she felt like she might spontaneously combust. “Jiang… Jiang Youwan, what are you doing…”

Cupping her face, Jiang Youwan gently brushed her thumb over the lips she’d just kissed, murmuring, “What should I do? Jiejie still wants to eat you up.”

She still wanted to eat her up. Jiang Jinyi shook her head in panic. “No… you can’t!”

“Xiao Jin’s face is so red, even redder than Jiejie’s.” Jiang Youwan took immense pleasure in watching her lose herself to passion while trying to resist, and loved seeing her rationality crumble piece by piece for her.

While people were coming and going outside, Jiang Youwan reached for the back of her neck, her fingers pressing lightly, making Jiang Jinyi shudder.

    “Mnh, don’t…”

    “Don’t what?”

Jiang Jinyi couldn’t bear this kind of stimulation. Her voice trembled as she pleaded, “Jiang Youwan…”

An Alpha was actually teased to tears by an Omega. Seeing her looking so pitiful, Jiang Youwan kept going with one hand while her other hand stroked her hair, coaxing her in a doting yet sexy voice, “Looking so pitiful? Then how about letting Xiao Jin eat Jiejie up, okay?”

    Eat up Jiejie…

Jiang Jinyi trembled, body and soul.

A voice in her head was screaming, Listen to her. She’s telling you to mark her, to claim her!

    No, no, no…

    “No…”

Jiang Jinyi wept as she shook her head. She was really crying now, her eyes filled with pain and conflict. Sensing that something was wrong, Jiang Youwan dazed for a second. In that moment, Jiang Jinyi pinned her wandering hands, wriggled out of her embrace, and lunged toward the driver’s seat. She rummaged frantically until she found the suppressant. Grabbing Jiang Youwan’s arm, she injected the medicine into her body.

Under Jiang Youwan’s gradually clearing gaze, she opened the car door and fled in a panic.

Jiang Jinyi ran away, far away, crouching on the deserted riverbank and sobbing until she was gasping for air, her face thoroughly drenched in tears.

She hated herself for being so useless. She’d been so close, just a hair’s breadth away from marking Jiang Youwan.

How could she? The thought alone was filled with guilt. Jiang Youwan wasn’t clear-headed; she’d almost been marked by her own meimei. How would she face her girlfriend in the future? And how would Jiang Jinyi face her?

She hadn’t felt so much like crying before, but thinking about it now made her really want to weep. Jiang Youwan already belonged to someone else. In the future, would she also entice someone else to mark her like that?

Just imagining such a scene made Jiang Jinyi feel incredibly miserable. Countless times, she wanted to force Jiang Youwan to break up with Lu Jing, to say, “You can only choose one of us, either me or Lu Jing.”

If she actually said it, she was ninety percent sure Jiang Youwan would choose her. But those words would be so childish. It’d put Jiang Youwan in a difficult position and strip away her right to pursue happiness. It was just so childish.

No one would love someone so paranoid and overbearing.

Jiang Youwan was right. How could any meimei be so clingy to her jiejie? She had to stop her affection for Jiang Youwan, keep her distance, and go back to being normal sisters.

But… but she really couldn’t bear to let her go…

Suddenly, Jiang Jinyi felt like she was all alone. Mom had passed away, and Jiejie would eventually have her own life. No one could stay with her forever, and no one truly, completely belonged to her.

At this moment, she missed her mother terribly. She longed to go back to the past—back to before she’d developed inappropriate thoughts about Jiang Youwan, back to when her mom was still alive.

If only Mom were here. If she were, she’d never have to grow up. She could remain as willful and spoiled as she used to be forever, soaking up her mom’s love without a care in the world. She’d always be the happiest child, instead of ending up like this.

    It was really so sad.

“Jiang Jinyi!” A shout rang out from not far away. Wiping her swollen eyes, Jiang Jinyi turned back to look. It was Xu An and Ji Xiaoqin. She turned her back to them, raising her hand to wipe her tears, lowering her head in silence.

“Jiang Jinyi, why did you run all the way here?” Xu An said anxiously. “Do you know? Just now, a passerby told me a girl with lipstick marks all over her lips and neck was crying by the river. They thought you’d been forced and were crying in despair. They almost called the police for you!”

    Jiang Jinyi: “…”

Ji Xiaoqin took a packet of tissues from her bag, pulled out two, and handed them to her. Jiang Jinyi took them, pretending to be calm as she wiped her face.

Xu An saw her face clearly, and it was indeed covered in lipstick marks. She took a moment to find her words. “Did Jiang Youwan force you? Were you unwilling?”

Jiang Jinyi lowered her eyes, no longer trying to hide it. “Her heat arrived, and she wasn’t clear-headed. I was unwilling.”

“Why weren’t you willing? Aren’t you—”

Jiang Jinyi cut her off decisively. “I don’t like her.”

Xu An: “… I hadn’t even finished my sentence.” She clearly did not believe her one bit.

“I’m just letting you know that I don’t intend to like her anymore. We’re only sisters. I’ll be moving out of the house in a few days. Xiaoqin, help me find a two-bedroom apartment near the gallery, the sooner the better.”

Only by moving out would she avoid living with Jiang Youwan every day, being unconsciously enticed by her, and harboring those dirty thoughts.

Once some time passed, she’d naturally stop liking her.

But before that, Jiang Jinyi still wanted to apologize to her.

Perhaps because she didn’t want to face her so early, Jiang Jinyi didn’t go straight back to the Jiang home. Instead, she sent Jiang Youwan a message: 【Jiejie, I’m going to have dinner with Xu An and the others. I’ll be home very late.】

She’d obediently called her jiejie, yet there was an indescribable coldness and distance between the lines.

She slipped her phone into her pocket, forcing herself not to check if Jiang Youwan had replied. She went with Xu An to a high-end restaurant. Halfway through, Ji Xiaoqin said she had to go to the restroom. That private room didn’t have its door closed, and a familiar voice came from inside. Ji Xiaoqin instinctively peeked inside, unexpectedly spotting a familiar figure.

    It was Wen Ye.

Dressed in a long dress, Wen Ye stood somewhat awkwardly and embarrassedly in front of the dining table. A girl was sitting at the table in front of her, being held by a handsome man. The girl didn’t look at her, instead smilingly telling the surrounding friends:

“Don’t you guys think Wen-jiejie is a lot like a dog? Yeah, the kind that comes when she’s called and goes when she’s dismissed. I called her once yesterday and she came, and she actually didn’t learn her lesson and came today too. Is being my dog really that fun?”

As she spoke, Liang Qi raised her eyes to look at her, smiling contemptuously. “Anyway, I think it’s pretty fun.”

Someone else said, “Since she’s here, why don’t we play together? Qiqi lost a lot of drinks just now and hasn’t had them yet. Why don’t you let your Wen-jiejie drink for you?”

“Sure, Wen-jiejie, help me drink some?”

Wen Ye’s body was stiff and she didn’t move. Her hands hanging by her skirt clenched into fists, her expression very dark. Amid the crowd’s mockery, she stiffly turned her head and met Ji Xiaoqin’s eyes.

At that moment of eye contact, Wen Ye felt utterly humiliated—the kind of humiliation where you just want to find a crack in the ground to crawl into. But that feeling only lasted for a split second. She clearly saw the look in Ji Xiaoqin’s eyes. There was no mockery, no smile of gloating over her misfortune. It was just pure surprise, and some unclear emotion, perhaps… pity.

Wen Ye’s eyes froze slightly. Ji Xiaoqin pursed her lips and quickly turned to leave.

Walking to the restroom, Ji Xiaoqin felt a bit scared, so she sent Xu An a message. Sure enough, when she stepped out of the restroom, she saw Wen Ye waiting at the door.

Ji Xiaoqin didn’t want to mock her; she ignored her and tried to walk past. Fortunately, Xu An appeared in the next second and slapped Wen Ye’s hand away.

“How many months did you sign with her for?” Wen Ye asked with a laugh, as if trying to compete with Ji Xiaoqin over who was more pathetic.

“Xiaoqin and I are friends. I lent her money to help her through her tough times. What? Sure enough, dirty people only see dirty things.”

That night, Jiang Jinyi went back to the Jiang family villa. No one was on the first floor, and there wasn’t even a sound. It was very quiet, desolate.

Going up to the second floor, Jiang Jinyi stopped outside Jiang Youwan’s bedroom door for two or three seconds before walking into her own room. After resting for a moment, she began packing her bags.

She didn’t close her room door. Hearing some movement next door, she saw Xiao Yu come out of Jiang Youwan’s room. The kitten ran in front of her, tilting its head and letting out a soft mew, as if asking why she was packing.

Jiang Jinyi picked Xiao Yu up, reluctantly stroking her head. “Ooh… I can’t bear to leave you.”

    “Meow~”

Jiang Jinyi wouldn’t tell Xiao Yu that she was most reluctant to leave Jiang Youwan.

After cuddling Xiao Yu enough, Jiang Jinyi retrieved a bank card from the file folder in her drawer. Setting Xiao Yu down, she went to Jiang Youwan’s room.

Standing outside Jiang Youwan’s door, she knocked for a bit, but no one answered, so she pushed the door open gently. The moment she entered, a highly concentrated scent of datura hit her. The water in the bathroom was pattering—Jiang Youwan was showering. For some reason, Jiang Jinyi’s heart started racing.

As if she knew someone had come outside, the water stopped shortly after. About two or three minutes later, the bathroom door opened, and Jiang Youwan brought out an extremely rich scent of datura.

Enveloped by this wave of pheromones, Jiang Jinyi thought of the scene in the car from earlier today, her face flushing as her heart raced.

Jiang Youwan had just showered, so she was barefaced right now, yet she wasn’t any less beautiful than when she wore makeup. Her skin was translucent, flushed with a delicate rosiness, and she wore only a nightgown—not a sexy one, but a relatively conservative, long nightgown.

She looked a bit more gentle and domestic, but she still couldn’t hide her graceful, shapely curves and endless allure.

    She was so beautiful…

But Jiang Jinyi didn’t dare look anymore, lowering her eyes.

Jiang Youwan looked at her, and the usual doting and warmth in her eyes was gone, replaced by coldness. She opened her mouth and asked coldly, “What are you doing?”

She’d somewhat expected this, but her indifferent tone still felt like a bucket of cold water poured over Jiang Jinyi’s head. Jiang Jinyi’s heart grew cold, and she felt a bit mortified and embarrassed. She clenched her hands, lowered her head, and her eyes grew a bit hot again. She cursed herself in her heart for being so fragile, gritted her teeth, and looked up at her. “I want to apologize to you. I-I’m sorry…”

Her upturned eyes were stained with a layer of faint red, mist pooling within them. Jiang Youwan felt that if she said one more sentence in that cold tone, she’d definitely cry.

It was clearly her fault, but when she felt wronged, it seemed like the whole world had let her down.

“Why are you apologizing to me?” Jiang Youwan averted her gaze, saying indifferently, “It doesn’t seem like Xiao Jin did anything wrong.”

Jiang Jinyi kept her eyes lowered, not daring to look at her, her sweet voice sounding very dejected. “I’m sorry. I always cause trouble for you, and today I caused trouble for you again. I’m sorry I’m so high-maintenance, so quick to cry, and so clingy. I was always pestering you, demanding that you take care of me, comfort me, and spend time with me, making you waste so much time on me. You were right—no meimei would be as clingy as me. I was wrong. I know I’m a very annoying meimei, and a terrible Alpha…”

As she spoke, Jiang Jinyi tried her best to control her voice so it wouldn’t tremble, but it shook even harder. By the end, she even began to sob.

Jiang Youwan obviously hadn’t expected her to say these things. Her relaxed heart tightened up again, and her gaze shifted back to her face. She didn’t say anything, letting her continue.

“It’s so annoying, why do I always want to cry? I can’t even speak properly without losing control, I’m so useless…”

Jiang Jinyi quietly cursed herself, wiped a handful of tears, and continued…

“In the future, I’ll be an adult. I won’t rely on you like before. You’ll have your own life, your own partner. I know you don’t mind me, but I shouldn’t cling to you all day either. I’m an adult too.”

Jiang Jinyi’s bangs were a bit messy, her nose and eyes red. She looked entirely like a wronged puppy.

The words she said and the tone she used had a humility that she, the Eldest Miss, had never shown before.

Why would she suddenly say this? Jiang Youwan thought, something must have happened.

Jiang Youwan looked cold on the outside, but her heart was aching as well. She didn’t say anything, her hand hanging by her skirt tightening slightly as she watched her move.

Holding the card in her hand, Jiang Jinyi walked up to Jiang Youwan, not daring to look into her eyes at all. She was afraid of seeing that cold look from just now again. She shoved the bank card into her hand and whispered, “Here is all my money. There should be tens of millions in it. I don’t know if it can help Jiang Corporation, but every little bit counts. The password is my birthday. Take it…”

Jiang Youwan lowered her head, looking at the card shoved into her hand. Jiang Youwan pursed her lips. Jiang Jinyi closed her eyes, and countless memories of her living in this house with Jiang Youwan flashed through her mind—from when Jiang Youwan first arrived to now, everything came rushing back. She was incredibly reluctant to leave, but she knew that if she stayed any longer, parting would only become harder.

Like she had made up her mind, she opened her eyes, looked at the tie on Jiang Youwan’s waist, and said, “I had Ji Xiaoqin help me look for a house outside. I’ll be moving out in a couple of days. It’s close to the gallery, so it’ll be more convenient. Jiejie… go to sleep early.”

Saying this sentence was much easier than she thought, but once she finished, her tears gushed out like they didn’t cost anything, completely unstoppable. She didn’t want Jiang Youwan to see, so she turned and ran out.

“Stand still.” Jiang Youwan immediately called out, her tone leaving no room for refusal.
