    Ending Everything

Jiang Youwan sat on the marble dining table, one hand propped behind her, the other cradling herself, head tilted slightly back—soft and alluring as water, eyes brimming with tenderness.

Jinyi stared, the blazing fury from moments ago suddenly extinguished. Her mind couldn’t catch up. Her eyes seemed caught by something, her breathing grew heavy, her jaw tightened.

    She looked so dazed—clearly bewitched.

Youwan was very pleased with her reaction. She slowly raised her smooth, slender legs, hooked them around Jinyi’s waist in one swift motion, and yanked her close.

Caught off guard, Jinyi was pulled flush against her. She snapped back to her senses and immediately tried to struggle free, but Youwan’s legs had already wrapped around her waist like a snake, clamping tight. Her arms looped around Jinyi’s neck, cradling her head, refusing to let her leave.

“Doesn’t Xiao Jin love this the most? You used to always secretly help jiejie along, whining and begging for it. You must still want it now, right?”

Since Youwan was sitting on the dining table, she was slightly taller than Jinyi. In this position, Jinyi’s face was pressed right into the hollow of her neck—very, very close to the nape, forced to breathe in her intense datura fragrance.

Jinyi felt as though her body had been glued to Youwan’s. Her mind resisted, but her body wouldn’t obey.

It was an alpha’s nature—to hold her omega like this, in a thoroughly possessive, sovereignty-claiming posture.

Jinyi couldn’t help biting down on Youwan’s neck, already covered in hickeys and bite marks, and muttered in a low voice, “Jiang Youwan, you’re shameless…”

Whether intentionally or not, Youwan’s collar was already soaked with milk stains, radiating a rich, creamy scent.

“Ah, a little wasted again…” Youwan was unfazed by being called shameless. She only urged with a pout, “Hurry, Xiao Jin.”

Youwan had always known how to tame a bristling little creature—cats, and dogs too. A few strokes and they’d turn docile, follow her, go home with her, be her cat, be her dog.

Let alone a little alpha like Jinyi, who had already been tamed once.

Having been tamed once, then accidentally lost—her dependence on and obedience to her master had already been carved into her bones, become instinct.

The milky scent grew richer. Her head was held in place by a pair of hands. In her ear came the most seductive urging.

Jinyi lost the battle once again.

Red-eyed, filled with humiliation and pain, she channeled all her emotions, all her fury, into Youwan.

Jinyi bit down hard, cursing her constantly, saying cruel, bullying things—but all she got in return was the gentlest of caresses.

No matter what she did, Youwan gave her nothing but soft words and tender touches.

Except when she bit too hard a few times—then Youwan would let out a muffled grunt and punish her with a pinch to her earlobe, a tug at her hair.

From her voice, her eyes, it was clear she was deeply satisfied.

Her tone lifted at the ends, her cheeks flushed rosy.

Before Youwan stretched a vast floor-to-ceiling window with a clear view outside—other villas, the street, the occasional car or pedestrian passing by.

Though she knew no one outside could see in, the visual impact made the thrill and satisfaction no less potent.

It was an alpha’s nature to want to stake her claim before the whole world.

When pedestrians passed by, Youwan tugged Jinyi’s head to make her look. Jinyi’s breath caught. She pinched her waist and called her wanton.

Youwan readily agreed—she was indeed crazy about it.

An omega’s breast milk could indeed accelerate an alpha’s sensitive period.

It even had the effect of amplifying desire.

Omegas who could lactate were rare, and alphas who could make an omega lactate were even rarer. Many people didn’t understand, never having experienced it.

Youwan thought: her Xiao Jin could have it every day.

She could give Jinyi the best, what no one else could.

Every time, she fed it all to Jinyi, and it would be the same from now on—slowly conditioning her Xiao Jin into a little fool who would want to mark her every day even outside her sensitive period, who would get anxious, throw tantrums, and sulk if she wasn’t given marking, hugs, and kisses.

The dining table was a wreck. Youwan was lying face-down on the living room sofa, and Jinyi sat on the carpet below, staring blankly. Her bangs were mussed, the rims of her eyes red, looking dazed as a little rabbit, as if she still hadn’t come down from what had just happened.

The atmosphere was hazy with afterglow.

Youwan reached up and ruffled her hair, pressing a kiss to the back of her neck.

“Xiao Jin, Xiao Jin…” She murmured the name between kisses, soft and careful, as if afraid of startling her, yet unable to resist calling out.

Seeing no resistance, Youwan curved her lips. She was easily satisfied, but wanted more. She weakly pushed herself upright, kneeling on the sofa, and wrapped her arms around Jinyi from behind, pulling her into her embrace.

She said, “Xiao Jin, you know how much jiejie loves you. jiejie can’t lose you.”

Jinyi snapped awake as if from a dream. “I don’t love you.”

She broke free of her arms. “You’re despicable…”

She desperately resisted hearing such words from Youwan at a time like this. She wanted to say something cold, to hurt her—but just then, the doorbell rang.

Before Jinyi could react, Youwan raised her voice toward the door: “Come right in.”

    Come right in?

    Jinyi froze.

The handle pressed down. Someone was about to push the door open, and there was Youwan, propped up on the sofa in that qipao1 more alluring than wearing nothing at all.

Without thinking, Jinyi grabbed the blanket and threw it around Youwan, wrapping her up tight before the person entering could see anything—leaving only her head exposed, not even wanting anyone to see her face, shielding her with her own body.

“President Jiang, here’s your—” The assistant paused at the sight, blinked, and hurriedly set things down while talking. “This is your lunch. Enjoy!”

Jinyi had her back to the assistant, biting her lip hard, eyes squeezed shut, cheeks even redder than when she’d been feeding—flushed with shame and panic.

Youwan, unlike her, paid the assistant no mind at all. Her eyes were only on Jinyi. She tilted her head up, studying her little expressions, thinking: exactly the same face she used to make when someone caught them being intimate before.

Shy as a sweet little wife.

Not just shy—she’d known to wrap her in a blanket so no one else could see.

That subconscious possessiveness delighted Youwan. Another piece of evidence that Jinyi still loved her.

When the door clicked shut, Jinyi finally dared to open her eyes. Then came Youwan’s voice: “And Xiao Jin still says she doesn’t love me? If you don’t love me, why do you care so much?”

Jinyi frowned, parting her lips to refute it—but found she couldn’t. The hypocritical words stuck in her throat, making her feel like she was suffocating.

Youwan read her expression, her own dimming slightly. She didn’t press further. She hadn’t really expected Xiao Jin to admit it anyway.

“Let’s eat lunch. Xiao Jin worked hard.”

It was already nearly afternoon. The feeding had been that morning.

Youwan, draped in the blanket Jinyi had thrown over her, dragged her sore, weary body off the sofa and unpacked several meal containers on the table. A lavish spread—everything Jinyi liked to eat.

Jinyi didn’t eat. Without a word, she turned and went upstairs.

She hadn’t lashed out in embarrassment at being teased. Instead, she’d gone blank and silent—just like four years ago. She wouldn’t even get angry at her anymore. Wouldn’t give her the time of day.

Youwan watched her go upstairs, and her heart gave a sudden, aching throb.

What hurt her most, what left her helpless and bereft, wasn’t a furious, bristling, world-ending Xiao Jin.

It was a Xiao Jin who wanted to give her the silent treatment.

It felt like they were entering that phase again—four years ago, when Xiao Jin was about to slip very, very far away from her.

    Youwan couldn’t bear it.

Jinyi returned to her room and sat by the window. She picked up her phone, set it down, picked it up again. The whole day passed. In the end, she sent nothing. The sky slowly darkened, and she had no idea what she’d been doing.

She looked out at the backyard. No servants tended it anymore—it felt desolate and cold.

Jinyi found it strange. This was her home. The furnishings were the same as four years ago—her arrangements, her paintings on the walls, what was planted in the backyard, the layout unchanged.

But she couldn’t shake a feeling of unfamiliarity.

    It was too deliberate.

Someone had tried desperately to preserve that feeling, and the effort itself made it feel alien.

To exist within an illusion was to never find true happiness.

Night fell quickly. In all that time, Jinyi hadn’t come downstairs once, hadn’t eaten a single bite.

She locked her door, shut herself in, lay on the bed, and forced herself to sleep.

After an unknown span of time—

The locked door opened with ease. A graceful silhouette slipped in from outside, gaze falling on the figure curled up in bed.

Breathing in the fresh, rich hyacinth scent, the anxiety in Youwan’s chest eased considerably. She moved quietly to the bedside. In the moonlight, she saw that the sleeping girl was holding something in her arms.

Very familiar. Youwan looked closer—it was one of her nightgowns.

She raised an eyebrow. No wonder. No wonder Xiao Jin had managed to endure so many hours without coming downstairs to find her.

She’d been soothing herself with the scent of her nightgown.

    When had she stolen it?

Youwan sincerely regretted not witnessing that scene. If she had, it would have given her something to savor for a very, very long time.

So tsundere she’d rather steal her clothes than spend time alone with her in the same room.

But at least she still stole her clothes.

    Youwan comforted herself with that.

She climbed quietly onto Jinyi’s bed. Before she’d fully settled, she heard shifting and a soft whimper. She held her breath and went still.

Wait a bit. Wait until Xiao Jin falls deeper asleep before holding her, Youwan thought. Then, suddenly, the person beside her rolled over again, whimpering and mumbling, and before long burrowed straight into her arms.

Arms wrapped around her waist, tighter than ever before, and a drowsy voice mumbled, “Jiejie…”

    “I feel awful, jiejie… save me…”

That sticky-sweet voice, thick with tears, instantly dissolved Youwan’s heart into a puddle—aching and sweet, thrilled and fulfilled. But the thrill lasted barely two seconds. Before she could hug back, before she could soothe, the person in her arms pulled away.

“Why are you here?” Jinyi demanded the moment she spoke, her voice still rough with sleep.

Yanked back to reality, Youwan narrowed her eyes, shifted closer, and pulled her into her arms, refusing to take no for an answer.

“Good girl, be good. Close your eyes, go back to sleep…”

She coaxed gently, trying to lull her back into drowsiness, wishing she had the power to hypnotize—to make Jinyi forget again, forget all the memories that brought them both pain.

“Good girl. You hugged jiejie on your own just now. jiejie was so happy. Don’t make jiejie sad, okay?”

    Jinyi gave up struggling quickly.

    Held again…

Jinyi understood with a sense of helplessness that she couldn’t break free from this embrace.

Her body, her gland, couldn’t refuse the enticement Youwan emitted. She couldn’t resist Youwan drawing her in, approaching her.

Because during the time she’d lost her memories, her body, her gland, her desire had all been controlled by Youwan—no room for resistance.

Her body surrendered, but her mind remained clear. That was what tortured Jinyi the most.

A voice in her head said: You love her. You’re just as unforgivable as she is.

    Can you face your mother?

You’re so sinful. You deserve to die too.

Youwan, relieved that she’d stopped struggling, looked down at her—and saw eyes full of agony.

Not anger. Not fury. No bristling. Just the look of someone who saw no hope left in the world. A gray, lifeless gaze.

The gaze of someone drowning in despair.

Youwan frowned. She didn’t want to see Xiao Jin look like that at all.

Xiao Jin’s beautiful peach blossom eyes2 should be smiling, their pupils reflecting only her face—only her, shining only for her.

She covered her eyes with her hand and murmured, “Good girl, close your eyes. It’ll all pass…”

This time, Jinyi fell asleep in Youwan’s arms while still awake.

But she had a dream. She dreamed of her mother. A nightmare.

How could dreaming of her mother be a nightmare? She dreamed she’d gone to the cemetery again to visit her mother. Her mother stood there, staring at her with a face full of disappointment and disgust. Her lips parted, and she said coldly, “Xiao Jin, is this how you treat your mother?”

    “Look at what you’ve done.”

A chill seeped from the soles of her feet into every limb, every bone. Jinyi trembled all over, her voice shaking as she told her mother it wasn’t true, she didn’t mean it—but her mother remained disappointed, her expression turning almost grotesque.

For the first time, Jinyi found her mother terrifying.

She jolted awake, sitting up in bed, gasping for breath. Her ears still rang with her mother’s frenzied voice: “Just kill her. Kill her to avenge me. Only then can I rest in peace…”

Jinyi covered her face in despair. Outside, the sun was bright and beautiful, but she felt only agony.

Her world was plunged into endless darkness.

On one side was her murdered mother. On the other was the killer who had caused her mother’s death—the person she now loved.

Jinyi knew that if Youwan wanted to, she might never be able to leave. Forever living this life, forever driven by desire, submitting to this sordid affair with her.

She couldn’t break free of Youwan’s grip, and she could never cross that final moral line in her heart. She couldn’t accept her.

Forever failing her mother. Forever trapped in this vortex of torment and suffering, unable to escape.

Maybe Huo Qi was right. The source of all her suffering was Jiang Youwan.

End it. She didn’t want to go on like this anymore.

She took out her phone and, with trembling hands, sent a message to Huo Qi: “I want to end this.”
