The Amnesiac Omega Who Reels Me In Every Day – Chapter 33
by Little PandaGazes
“Under such strict control?”
As evening approached, Jiang Jinyi had already finished dressing up. She sat on the sofa, scrolling through her phone while waiting for Jiang Youwan.
She had done her makeup exquisitely—just the right touch of elegance—and paired it with a relaxed, casual slip dress. The look blended her sweet, charming innocence with a hint of quiet sensuality, highlighting her bright eyes and brilliant smile. She was the very picture of sweet, darling charm.
After Jinyi had played on her phone for a good while on the sofa, Jiang Youwan finally emerged from her suite.
“Xiao Jin,” Jiang Youwan called softly.
Jiang Jinyi looked up, her gaze instantly freezing.
Jiang Youwan wore a dark-toned qipao1. The form-fitting garment hugged her exquisite curves, revealing a glimpse of long, pale thighs that resembled the world’s most precious white jade. Her long hair was swept back into a soft, elegant updo. Her sharp, alluring fox-eyes, tilted slightly upward at the outer corners, epitomized a dangerous yet captivating charm.
Jiang Jinyi’s lips parted slightly as she stared blankly, unable to find her voice for a long moment.
Jiang Youwan was highly pleased with her reaction. She extended a hand toward Jinyi and curled her fingers. “Let’s go.”
With their hands clasped together, Jiang Jinyi walked side by side with her. Yet, she could not help but keep turning her head to look at her, occasionally falling into a daze as she stared.
Only one thought occupied her mind: She is so beautiful.
It was a dignified, elegant beauty—the kind that mere mortals could never hope to reach.
She truly deserved her status as an SSS-class omega. She was born to be a rare, exquisite beauty.
Jiang Youwan naturally noticed her gaze. Though she appeared calm and composed, she was thoroughly enjoying the feeling.
She relished the way Jiang Jinyi’s eyes lingered uncontrollably on her, and delighted in her fascination.
I must never let her eyes be drawn away by any other woman.
The two of them arrived at the restaurant together. The dishes had already been served, and almost everyone in the private dining room had arrived, waiting in their seats for the guests of honor.
Jiang Jinyi and Jiang Youwan appeared before the group hand in hand.
When Wen Ye looked up and saw this, a glint of curiosity flashed in her eyes.
She had heard that back at the exhibition hall, Jiang Youwan had traveled thousands of miles to vent her anger on Jiang Jinyi’s behalf, leaving that arrogant and ordinarily confident fellow, Liang Wei, thoroughly humiliated and disheveled. She had assumed the media was exaggerating, but now it seemed to be entirely true.
She had to admit that Jiang Youwan was truly breathtaking—noble, gentle, and dignified. Compared to her, Jiang Jinyi possessed a bit more charming innocence and cuteness. Standing together, they actually made a well-matched pair.
It was hard for her to imagine how they could hold hands so warmly now, as if nothing had ever happened, when they had been embroiled in such a bitter, deep-seated feud not long ago. What a heartwarming scene.
“Wen-jiejie!”
The sweet, excited cry of joy made Wen Ye look away from Jiang Youwan’s face and meet Jiang Jinyi’s bright, starry eyes.
Wen-jiejie?
Jiang Youwan narrowed her eyes.
As soon as the words “Wen-jiejie” left her lips, the girl whose hand she had been holding trotted right past her and sat down in the seat next to Wen Ye.
Jiang Youwan’s eyes darkened slightly. She squeezed her newly emptied palm, then followed and sat on Jiang Jinyi’s other side, with only Jiang Jinyi between her and Wen Ye.
“President Jiang,” Secretary Lin greeted her politely.
Xu An was a bit mesmerized by her beauty and was a beat late in saying, “Hello, Jiang-jiejie.” She then nudged Ji Xiaoqin beside her and whispered, “Hurry up and greet her.”
Ji Xiaoqin parted her lips and, in an almost inaudible voice, followed Xu An’s lead. “Hello, Jiang-jiejie.”
Jiang Youwan glanced at them and smiled gently. “Hello.”
“Thank you for treating me to dinner, Xiao Jin. I didn’t manage to help much with the art exhibition, so I’m really quite embarrassed,” Wen Ye said, resting her chin on her hand with a sheepish look.
Jiang Jinyi shook her head. “Who says you didn’t help? You have no idea how much inspiration you have given me on my artistic journey. Wen-jiejie, your contribution is immense!”
“Xiao Jin, you certainly have a way with words.”
Jiang Jinyi smiled, her eyes curving into crescent moons. “But it’s the truth!”
“When did you become so close with Miss Wen, Xiao Jin? How come you didn’t tell Sister?” Jiang Youwan suddenly asked, a gentle smile gracing her face.
Wen Ye looked at Jiang Youwan and said politely, “President Jiang.” She explained, “I visited Xiao Jin’s exhibition this morning before you arrived, so we exchanged contact details. Xiao Jin is very interesting, and we get along quite well.”
“Xiao Jin is indeed very interesting. And Miss Wen’s paintings are also very fine,” Jiang Youwan said with a polite, faint smile. While her first sentence was genuine, how could Wen Ye not hear the mere politeness in her next remark?
“President Jiang, you truly deserve your reputation as an SSS-class omega. You are elegant, charming, and highly capable in your work. You must have many suitors, don’t you?”
Jiang Youwan replied neutrally, “Miss Wen must have no shortage of admirers either.”
Wen Ye offered a polite platitude, “Naturally, they can’t compare to yours, President Jiang.”
“Likewise.”
Jiang Jinyi could not bear to listen any longer. “Oh, stop exchanging pleasantries.”
Jiang Youwan fell silent. Wen Ye let out a couple of dry laughs and dropped the subject as well.
In addition to Wen Ye, Ji Xiaoqin, Xu An, and Secretary Lin had also been invited. They were all people Jiang Jinyi was familiar with. She disliked restraint and formalities, and only felt truly happy when dining with people she knew. Since the table was filled with her favorite dishes, her mood was even brighter.
“As expected of a meal hosted by Eldest Miss Jiang. It’s completely different, absolutely delicious.” Xu An stuffed a shrimp into her mouth, immediately began peeling another, and mumbled, “Xiao Jin, last time you said you would treat me alone to a lavish meal costing over a hundred thousand yuan. Just because you have amnesia doesn’t mean you can forget about it, okay?”
Jiang Jinyi turned to Ji Xiaoqin. “Is that true?”
Xu An grumbled in dissatisfaction, “Why do you have to ask her everything? Is my word really that untrustworthy?”
Jiang Jinyi retorted, “I don’t believe a word of your nonsense. Last time you lied to me, saying I promised to buy you a villa. Xiao Qin doesn’t have so many sneaky schemes like you do—she is completely devoted to me.”
Xu An: “…”
Perhaps a bit embarrassed by Jiang Jinyi’s words, Ji Xiaoqin smiled shyly and answered honestly, “Miss indeed promised to treat her to a meal.”
Xu An raised her eyebrows, looking triumphant. “Did you hear that?”
Jiang Jinyi let out a light hum. “That depends on this Miss’s mood.”
The atmosphere at the table was lively, filled with talk and laughter. Jiang Youwan kept her head lowered as she peeled shrimp, listening to the group of friends chat. Her expression remained gentle and approachable, showing none of the severe, ruthless demeanor rumored about her.
Ever since everyone picked up their chopsticks, Ji Xiaoqin had been peeling shrimp the entire time. Having amassed a small plateful, she carefully reached across Xu An to place it in front of Jiang Jinyi. Jiang Jinyi did not think anything of it, picking up one and popping it into her mouth.
“Mmh, thank you.”
Jiang Jinyi was accustomed to being pampered since birth. In her memories, she had never once peeled a shrimp herself. During her time in Bei City, Ji Xiaoqin had always taken care of her, and peeling shrimp for her was a regular occurrence. Ji Xiaoqin had told her that she used to look after her this way in the past as well, so Jiang Jinyi quickly accepted the pampering without a second thought.
Just as she finished one and was about to reach for another, a peeled mantis shrimp was suddenly fed to her lips. Beside her ear came Jiang Youwan’s incomparably tender voice: “I remember Xiao Jin loves this the most.”
Leaning in as Jiang Youwan fed her, Jiang Jinyi bit into the shrimp, her cheeks puffing out like a hamster’s. Overjoyed by the delicious taste, she squinted her eyes as she chewed.
“Is it good?”
Jiang Jinyi nodded, mumbling around her food, “It’sh good…”
“Then eat more. Sister has peeled a lot for you.”
“Okay~”
Jiang Youwan fed her piece by piece until she was nearly half full. By the time Jiang Jinyi came to her senses, the shrimp Ji Xiaoqin had peeled for her seemed to have grown cold.
Jiang Jinyi reached for them, but Jiang Youwan frowned slightly and said, “They’re already cold. Don’t eat them. There are plenty of warm ones here.”
“It’s fine, they aren’t that cold.” Normally, Jiang Jinyi would never eat cold food. However, since someone had gone to the trouble of peeling them just for her, she still wanted to finish them.
Otherwise, Ji Xiaoqin would definitely feel hurt. Through their time together, Jinyi had come to learn that Ji Xiaoqin was a very gentle, thoughtful, sensitive, and highly capable girl.
Jiang Jinyi ate the shrimp as if nothing were amiss. Jiang Youwan did not stop her again. She raised her eyes to glance at Jiang Jinyi’s profile, her gaze then sweeping over to pause briefly on Ji Xiaoqin’s face.
Ji Xiaoqin had already lowered her head, feeding herself with her expression completely hidden.
Xu An was too busy eating to notice anything amiss. Wen Ye, however, raised her eyebrows with great interest as she looked at Ji Xiaoqin.
The server opened two bottles of red wine and began pouring for each guest in turn. When they reached Jiang Jinyi, Jiang Youwan’s slender hand lightly covered the rim of the glass. “Thank you, but she won’t be having any.”
The server understood and was about to move on when Jiang Jinyi called out, “I want some.”
She looked at Jiang Youwan with a slightly disgruntled expression, as if demanding, Why won’t you let me drink?
She was twenty-three now, fully an adult. Wouldn’t it be incredibly embarrassing if she were the only one at the table who couldn’t drink?
Jiang Youwan looked at her calmly. “Xiao Jin, have you forgotten that your stomach isn’t well? What if it starts hurting after you drink?”
“Ah…” Jiang Jinyi wore a conflicted expression. After a moment of thought, she pinched her thumb and index finger together, blinking. “Just a tiny bit.”
Jiang Youwan let out a soft laugh. “Hmm?”
Jiang Jinyi pouted, adopting an imploring, coquettish expression. “Just a tiny bit, I won’t drink much. My stomach isn’t that fragile.”
She was acting spoiled. Jiang Youwan pursed her lips, neither agreeing nor refusing.
Knowing how much Jiang Jinyi wanted to drink, she had already relented in her heart. She simply wanted, selfishly, to let her act spoiled for just a little longer.
Just then, Wen Ye let out a soft chuckle, her words carrying a playful undertone. “Under such strict control?”
Jiang Jinyi blanked out for a moment. Under strict control?
She suddenly realized she was long past the age where she needed Jiang Youwan’s permission to drink.
In the past, Jiang Youwan had never been able to control her drinking. Even if she tried, Jinyi would only need to act cute, and Youwan would give in without any principles.
She was certain that if she just kept acting spoiled, Jiang Youwan would surely capitulate without a second thought.
Yet, provoked by Wen Ye’s words, her stubborn pride flared up. She grabbed the bottle from the server and poured a glass for herself.
“I don’t need her to control me. I’m going to drink.”
Wen Ye burst out laughing.
The corners of Jiang Youwan’s mouth curved slightly. She withdrew her gaze, lifted her own glass to clink with everyone else’s, and took a light, elegant sip.
The atmosphere was quite pleasant. To liven things up even more, Wen Ye suggested playing a game. Having rarely played before, Jiang Jinyi lost three rounds in a row, drinking three glasses back-to-back.
However, she seemed to have overestimated her alcohol tolerance. With three glasses down, her eyes grew hazy, her face flushed red, and her mind turned increasingly foggy. She sat swaying unsteadily in her chair.
Jiang Youwan had been called away by a phone call just moments ago. Taking advantage of her absence, Xu An finally dared to let loose, teasing Jiang Jinyi: “You really can’t hold your liquor, Eldest Miss Jiang! Just this much and it’s already gone straight to your face? It’s not even a high alcohol percentage. Tsk, tsk.”
Hearing this, Jiang Jinyi’s face flushed even redder. Her cheeks puffed out like a pufferfish as she snapped, “Another round!”
…
But even with another round, she lost yet again.
“You lost again, Xiao Jin. You really are a game black hole,” Wen Ye teased, looking at her thoroughly inebriated and incredulous face.
Xu An egged her on to keep drinking, but Ji Xiaoqin felt deeply distressed for her, urging in a low voice, “Miss, please don’t drink anymore. You’re already drunk. Let me drink it for you.”
How could a drunk person be cooperative? Her defiance reached its absolute peak. She stared at Ji Xiaoqin and asked in a low, sullen voice, “Do you… do you think I’m drunk? Do you think I’m stupid, always losing games, and that my alcohol tolerance is… is really bad…?”
Ji Xiaoqin was momentarily speechless. Taking her silence as confirmation, Jiang Jinyi grew indignant. She poured herself another glass, parted her lips, and declared word by word, “I am not drunk!”
With her slurred tone and sweet, soft voice turned entirely airy and floaty, there was absolutely no conviction in her words.
Ji Xiaoqin knew Jiang Jinyi was drunk. This was exactly how Jiang Jinyi behaved when she was intoxicated. During her four years as her assistant, she had seen her drunk many times. She would always slurringly insist she wasn’t drunk, her train of thought would become bizarre, and she would say things no one could ever anticipate.
In short… she was incredibly cute.
Xu An had already excitedly pulled out her phone and opened the recording app, eager to preserve this rare, socially embarrassing moment of Eldest Miss Jiang to play back for her in the future.
“Eldest Miss Jiang, you—”
Xu An’s hand was suddenly pressed down. Turning her head, she saw Ji Xiaoqin glaring at her, warning in a low voice, “You’re not allowed to do that.”
Xu An blanked out for a moment, then reluctantly turned off the recording.
She grumbled to herself: Why does this little assistant have to interfere with everything?
“Another round!”
“…Lost again.”
She couldn’t win even when she was sober, so how could she possibly win while drunk?
With her drunk to this extent and still demanding to drink, Ji Xiaoqin really could not bear to watch any longer. She spoke up, “Miss is drunk. If she keeps drinking, she’ll feel miserable later. I’ll take her back to the hotel to rest first.”
As she spoke, Ji Xiaoqin rose from her seat, walked over to Jiang Jinyi’s side, and supported her from behind, coaxing gently, “Miss, let’s go back first, okay?”
“No…” Jiang Jinyi shook her head, almost tumbling over from the motion. Fortunately, Ji Xiaoqin was holding her; otherwise, she would have certainly fallen and ended up in tears.
“Alright, let’s return to the hotel first.” Ji Xiaoqin helped her up, letting her lean against her body. Though she was also an omega, at this moment she seemed exceptionally reliable, carrying an unyielding aura of resilience.
What an interesting girl.
Wen Ye rested her chin on her hand, watching the scene. Before she could even muse further on it, she heard the door of the private room open. Turning her head at the sound, she saw Jiang Youwan’s deep, dark eyes fixed squarely on Ji Xiaoqin and Jiang Jinyi.
The look made Wen Ye recall, in a daze, the banquet over a month ago when she had wanted Jiang Jinyi to drink; Jiang Youwan had glared at her with this exact same look back then.
She was guarding her food—guarding it fiercely.
