The Amnesiac Omega Who Reels Me In Every Day – Chapter 11
by Little PandaTactics
At that moment, the urge to throw caution to the wind1 surged violently within Jiang Youwan.
The two stood in a tense standoff, eyes locked. Beneath the thick, opposing animosity lay Jiang Youwan’s overflowing, manic devotion.
Unexpectedly, Jiang Jinyi didn’t fly into a rage. She merely gave a soft chuckle. Staring at Youwan’s dark expression, she pulled her phone from her pocket and showed it to Jiang Youwan. The voice recorder was running. She smiled craftily. “Since you like me so much, you wouldn’t mind if I recorded this, right?”
Jiang Youwan froze. The icy chill in her chest dissipated slightly. So that was it—Xiao Jin was baiting her into a confession.
She had said all those cruel things just to bait her. Jiang Youwan thought with a sudden sense of relief, Were the things Xiao Jin just said not her true intentions? At the very least… they weren’t entirely her true intentions, just meant to provoke me?
So, her so-called girlfriend was just like last time—someone brought in just to make her angry?
Comforted by this rationalization, the tightness in Jiang Youwan’s chest eased. Looking somewhat helpless, she praised her the way one might indulge a child, “Xiao Jin has always been so smart. You caught hold of my weakness. Do you want to negotiate terms with me?”
“How about sending you to prison?” Jiang Jinyi said.
Jiang Youwan pursed her lips into a smile, a tinge of sorrow bleeding through. “How heartbreaking.” She truly was heartbroken—so heartbroken she was on the precipice of losing control entirely.
Jiang Youwan even began to morbidly contemplate how she might abduct Jiang Jinyi. Knock her out? She couldn’t bear to do that. Get her drunk? Xiao Jin had a weak stomach. If she just dragged her away fully conscious, Xiao Jin would scream for help until she tore her throat raw…
If only she would come away with her willingly.
That would be perfect.
“Stop acting so fake.” Jiang Jinyi was annoyed just seeing her like this. She looked down, pulled up a few highly explicit photos on her phone, and shoved the screen in front of Jiang Youwan. Youwan’s fox-like eyes narrowed. She showed no anger upon seeing her own debauched, glassy-eyed state captured on camera.
She thought about how, ever since that night, she had constantly dreamed of this very scene. She would wake up in a damp mess, hating herself for her inability to hold onto the fleeting sensation. To think Xiao Jin had actually taken pictures of it. Xiao Jin had actually kept such photos of them. Had Xiao Jin looked at them over and over again?
Smiling, she asked, “Can you send them to me?”
Jiang Jinyi fell silent.
This woman’s level of tolerance truly exceeded her imagination. Jiang Jinyi couldn’t be bothered to beat around the bush anymore. She said directly, “I don’t have the patience to waste breath on you right now. If you don’t want these photos and that audio recording broadcast on every big screen around, I want you to announce at the upcoming Jiang Corporation banquet that I am the true supreme authority. Jiang Corporation is mine. It was left to me by my mother. Once you do that, pack your bags and get the hell out of the company.”
When Jiang Jinyi finished speaking, Jiang Youwan fell silent for several seconds. Her expression was placid and unreadable. She knew she had walked right into Xiao Jin’s trap.
Truthfully, if anyone else had tried such a clumsy scheme, she would have seen through it at a glance. But because it was Jiang Jinyi, she easily lost her rationality—especially the moment Jiang Jinyi had announced Wen Ye was her girlfriend.
In that fleeting moment, even she couldn’t believe it, but she had genuinely felt the urge to kill.
“Alright,” Jiang Youwan said graciously. “I accept your terms. But you have to agree to one condition of mine as well.”
“You have no right to negotiate terms with me,” Jiang Jinyi said coldly.
Jiang Youwan turned a deaf ear to her words and continued, “I will accept all your terms, but I want you to break up with Wen Ye.”
Whether she and Wen Ye were just acting or not, she couldn’t stand to see it. The very idea was a thorn buried deep in her heart, suffocating her.
Jiang Jinyi looked slightly surprised. Clearly, she hadn’t expected Jiang Youwan to bring up such a condition.
Jiang Youwan continued, “If you don’t agree, even if Jiang Corporation is destroyed, Jiejie won’t give it to you.” This last sentence was delivered with a fierce surge of venom.
“Fine. I agree. The moment I walk out of here, I’ll break up with her,” Jiang Jinyi conceded. She and Wen Ye weren’t a real couple anyway. Even without Jiang Youwan’s demand, she would have made things clear with Wen Ye.
Hearing her agree, Jiang Youwan’s expression softened slightly. Jiang Jinyi turned to leave the restroom, tossing one last warning over her shoulder: “I’m looking forward to the banquet in a few days. You’d best not try any little tricks.” With that, she strode out without looking back.
Stepping out of the restroom, Jiang Jinyi discovered that Wen Ye was still sitting in her original seat, clearly waiting for her.
Jiang Jinyi hurried over. Seeing her approach, Wen Ye stood up and smiled at her.
Considerate as ever, she didn’t mention what had just happened, only asking, “Everything sorted out?”
Jiang Jinyi nodded, looking at her apologetically. Who else would act like she did, treating her idol as a mere prop the very first time they met?
Would Wen Ye have a terrible impression of her now?
“I’m so sorry,” Jiang Jinyi apologized. “I had originally hired someone for this, but I didn’t expect Jiang Youwan to show up so early. In a moment of panic, I just…”
“It’s fine.” Wen Ye smiled. “I’m always happy to help. If you’d like to make it up to me, Miss Jiang can just treat me to a meal next time.”
“Of course!” Jiang Jinyi couldn’t have asked for anything better.
“May I be so bold as to ask, you and your sister…”
Jiang Jinyi cut her off. “She is not my sister.”
Wen Ye tilted her head. “Hm?”
At the mere mention of the other woman, a sharp surge of hatred flashed in Jiang Jinyi’s eyes. Without mincing words, she said, “She’s just a thief. She stole everything from our family, and I’m going to take it all back.”
Not only that, but she was going to completely ruin Jiang Youwan’s reputation. She was going to send Jiang Youwan to prison and make her pay the price for everything she had done.
As the two conversed, they failed to notice a figure lingering in the shadows, staring at them menacingly.
After Jiang Jinyi left, Jiang Youwan had someone seal off the restroom, forbidding anyone from entering. She squatted down to gather the scattered Buddhist beads from the floor. She searched for nearly two hours, yet no matter how hard she looked, she simply couldn’t find the very last bead.
Even when the sky turned dark, she still had not emerged from that restroom.
