The Amnesiac Omega Who Reels Me In Every Day – Chapter 21
by Little PandaGood Person, Bad Person
After scolding me, she still buries herself in my arms to cry
After a brief investigation, the police confirmed that no such confinement had occurred.
The officer looked at her head of pink hair, his expression a picture of pure speechlessness. “Little girl, how old are you? Still haven’t grown out of adolescence? No wonder. Make sure you get a clear grasp of the situation before you call the police next time.”
Xu An looked young, her delicate features making her easily pass for a teenager. With her pink twin tails, she easily made people think of a rebellious girl. The police had seen plenty of impulsive, chuunibyou1 girls going through their rebellious phases. Treating her entirely as an ignorant girl, the officer gave her a brief, gentle lecture before leaving.
No sooner had the police left than she and Xiao Qin were driven out by Jiang Youwan’s bodyguards.
Whether it was just Xu An’s imagination or not, she felt like the two bodyguards’ eyes held a smug, provocative look as they watched her.
Fuck!
The nurse came to change her dressing, carefully unwrapping the gauze on Jiang Jinyi’s arm. The nurse’s movements were very light, and Jiang Jinyi barely felt any pain. Looking around and finding Xu An gone, she turned her head to ask Jiang Youwan, “Where is Xu An?”
Jiang Youwan said calmly, “Miss Xu had some business to attend to, so she left first.”
Jiang Jinyi knit her brows, lowering her eyes as if lost in thought.
Once the nurse finished dressing the wound and left, Jiang Jinyi remained immersed in her own thoughts, staring blankly ahead.
“Xiao Jin,” Jiang Youwan called softly, sitting down by her side. Jiang Jinyi snapped out of it, turning to look at her. “What is it?”
Jiang Youwan lowered her gaze, saying with a touch of distress, “Will the things I said to Miss Xu earlier affect your relationship?”
As she spoke, Jiang Youwan peeked up at her. Her usually sharp eyes had turned exceptionally cautious, making her look unexpectedly pitiful.
Jiang Jinyi was taken aback, surprised that Jiang Youwan would fret over such a thing. She shook her head, offering comfort. “Of course not. If our friendship could be ruined by something like that, it wouldn’t have been very deep to begin with—unlike her and me.”
An almost imperceptible curve brushed the corners of Jiang Youwan’s lips.
“Xiao Jin, you have amnesia and can’t recall many things,” Jiang Youwan said softly, her eyes dimming slightly. “I must have done things to make Miss Xu misunderstand me in the past. Perhaps she holds a prejudice against me, which is why she spoke of me that way.”
“Huh?” Xu An was always making a fuss and had blabbered quite a bit. Jiang Jinyi wasn’t sure which part Jiang Youwan was referring to. “What did she say about you?”
Jiang Youwan parted her lips. Looking at the pure, flawless girl before her, the possessiveness buried deep in her eyes seeped out thread by thread, silently enveloping her. Yet she concealed it so well that it went entirely unnoticed.
She enunciated clearly, “She said I am not a good person, and told you to leave with her.”
“Mm…”
Jiang Jinyi raised an eyebrow. “You actually managed to make an enemy of her over these past four years?”
Without answering yes or no, Jiang Youwan asked in a low voice, “If there really are some misunderstandings, will Xiao Jin think I’m a bad person too?”
Was Jiang Youwan a good person?
What was the standard for a “good person”? What did it take to be called one?
Jiang Jinyi’s own moral compass was not particularly strong; she did not consider herself much of a good person either.
“I don’t care whether you’re a good person or a bad person,” Jiang Jinyi said nonchalantly. “Even if you really are a bad person, as long as you’re good to me alone, I’ll think you’re a good person.”
Jiang Youwan gazed deeply at her. After a few seconds, she suddenly let out a soft chuckle. “Go on and eat. It will get cold soon.”
The dishes on the coffee table were all made by Jiang Youwan: four dishes and one soup. The portions weren’t large, just enough for two.
Jiang Youwan ladled a bowl of chicken soup and placed it in front of her, saying gently, “Have some soup first.”
Jiang Jinyi was reluctant. “I don’t want to.”
“Do you not like it?” Jiang Youwan’s eyes, shimmering like autumn pools, locked onto hers. “Do you dislike soup in general, or do you just dislike soup stewed by others?”
Jiang Jinyi was slightly startled, unable to answer her question for a moment.
She simply hated drinking soup.
“Your jiejie simmered this for over three hours. Won’t Xiao Jin take just one sip?” Jiang Youwan’s voice was very mature, and with her seductive nasal undertone, her words always carried a sense of sweet tenderness.
She was dressed in a snug black dress. She seemed as gentle as water; every gesture, every look she gave, made her truly resemble a virtuous yet sexy housewife2.
Her gaze made it seem as though if Jiang Jinyi didn’t taste it, she would be deeply saddened and disappointed.
Jiang Jinyi averted her gaze without a trace, her cheeks puffing slightly.
Jiang Youwan added in a leisurely tone, “If you don’t drink the soup, your nutrition won’t keep up, which means you’ll have to take medicine.”
Take medicine? Jiang Jinyi showed an extremely resistant expression. Enunciating each word, she said, “I’m not taking medicine.”
“The doctor did say you need to take medicine, but since I know Xiao Jin doesn’t like taking medicine, I negotiated with the doctor to let you substitute it with chicken soup.”
Jiang Youwan propped her chin in one hand, speaking with a troubled air. “I remember when Xiao Jin had a fever before and refused to take her medicine. You threw a tantrum, crying, making a scene, and even scolded me. But after scolding me, you still buried yourself in my arms to cry, soaking my clothes until they were dripping wet. If you don’t drink the chicken soup, are we going to do that again?”
Pulled into a deeply embarrassing memory, Jiang Jinyi dazed out, an unusual pink flush crawling up her fair face.
“If we go with the medicine, it has to be taken three times a day—morning, noon, and night.” Jiang Youwan looked increasingly troubled as she picked up her phone to call her assistant. “I’ll have to have them bring extra changes of clothes.”
Jiang Jinyi suddenly pressed her hand down over the hand holding the phone, her face burning red like a cat with its fur standing on end. “Don’t move!”
Over these past few days, Jiang Jinyi had been immersed in the grief of her mother’s passing, listless and unable to summon the energy for anything. She was sickly, completely lacking in vitality, making one’s heart ache just looking at her.
But now her face was flushed—crimson from sheer embarrassment—and she looked incredibly adorable.
Jiang Youwan raised an eyebrow. “Mm-hmm?”
Jiang Jinyi grit her teeth. “Bad woman.”
She wanted to take back what she had said earlier. Jiang Youwan was a bad woman, through and through!
Sure enough, beautiful women really were all bad!
Jiang Youwan put on an incredibly innocent expression. “We must follow the doctor’s orders.”
Jiang Jinyi gave her a petulant, complaining look before lowering her head to sip the soup. She took two small sips, and to her surprise, it was incredibly savory and delicious.
Jiang Jinyi blinked, looking up at Jiang Youwan. She seemed to have instantly forgotten all her previous grievances, her eyes sparkling with pleasant surprise.
Meeting her gaze, Jiang Youwan smiled like a fox.
“Mm, it’s… it’s actually pretty good.” Jiang Jinyi stammered, taking another small sip, her eyes shining bright as she looked at Jiang Youwan.
Jiang Youwan was utterly charmed by her cuteness.
Her chest was filled with a powerful sense of satisfaction, her heart racing with affection.
She wanted to be even greedier.
The food was just enough for the two of them. After they finished, Jiang Jinyi rinsed her mouth and sat down on the sofa, perhaps thinking about something, perhaps just staring into space—but most likely, she was thinking of her mother.
Since childhood, she had never had a father or a second mother. Jiang Corporation was founded single-handedly by Jiang Ningshu. In the beginning, no one believed a lone woman could rise to become the wealthiest person in Luo City.
With her mother as the wealthiest tycoon, she had been the number-one young lady of Luo City, spoiled by her mother since childhood. Before Jiang Youwan appeared, she and her mother had depended on each other. She had never imagined that her mother would leave her one day.
She was truly so sad.
Jiang Youwan was in no hurry to take out her computer to work. She curled up on one side of the sofa, hugging a cushion and propping her chin on her hand, with a deeply dark look in her eyes as she watched Jiang Jinyi.
“Xiao Jin,” she called softly.
“Mm?”
Jiang Jinyi shifted her gaze to Jiang Youwan’s bewitching face.
Only to see her slowly lean in closer, using a sultry nasal hum to murmur, “Since I’m being so good to you, won’t Xiao Jin give me a bit more of your pheromones, please?”
