    Long-Premeditated

    Cinema

After they made their relationship official, Jiang Youwan most enjoyed doing three things.

She liked to seduce Jiang Jinyi, then string her along without giving in right away—she just loved watching her desperate and aching, too soft-hearted to force anything, reduced to begging, “Jiejie, I want it.”

She liked being with Jinyi, liked being marked by her, liked watching her lose herself in passion over her.

And she really loved seeing her jealous—watching her puff up and stake her claim, watching her pout and sulk with that sour expression, and also watching how, once she reassured her, she’d become happy and satisfied all over again.

Because of the special period they were in, a week had passed since the last marking. The datura scent on Jinyi had faded considerably—nearly gone, no longer the rich, possessive fragrance it carried right after marking, the kind that let every other omega know at a glance she was taken.

The same was true for her—and for Youwan as well.

At first, she hadn’t noticed the problem. Not until they arrived at the cinema together. Before going inside, she went to buy milk tea. When she came back, she saw from a distance a tall man standing next to Youwan. He was holding two cups of milk tea and offering one to her, his face full of smiles.

It looked like he was also asking what movie she was planning to watch.

Jinyi narrowed her eyes and strode forward. She shoved one of the milk teas into Youwan’s hand and said to the man, word by word, her voice tight with jealousy: “She is…”

    She is what?

Jinyi stalled. In all the days since they’d made things official, she had never—like this, in front of Youwan, to a stranger—declared that Youwan was her girlfriend.

She turned to Youwan with a glance that seemed to ask: Can’t I say it?

Youwan pretended not to understand. “Is what?”

Jinyi misread her meaning and immediately drooped her brows, looking wronged. “Aren’t you my girlfriend…”

    Pfft.

The man blinked, baffled, but still reluctant to give up on an omega of such a high class. “Are you actually her girlfriend or not?”

Youwan’s gaze settled on Jinyi’s sweet, guileless face. She took a sip of the milk tea Jinyi had ordered for her, then said softly, “If she says so, then she is.”

Just like that, she placed the entire initiative in Jinyi’s hands. Jinyi blinked, emboldened, and gave two little hums of triumph before telling the man, word by word: “She is my girlfriend!”

The man had no choice but to walk away.

“Is something wrong with your head?” Youwan narrowed her eyes at her. “One day apart and you’ve forgotten who your girlfriend is?”

“Wu, no, I didn’t forget… I just…” Jinyi walked over and smiled at her—smiled until her dimples showed, utterly adorable.

Last time she’d staked her claim, she’d been the same way—smiling so foolishly.

Youwan watched her, thinking to herself: These adorable dimples—they’re actually mine.

For today’s date, Xiao Jin had dressed up especially. Her long, straight black hair was tied with a few thin braids. She wore the pleated skirt and cropped, midriff-baring coffee-colored maid dress that Youwan had given her, a black bow tied neatly at the collar, and she’d even done a sweet, doll-like makeup look.

This adorable Jiang Jinyi—she’s mine too.

“Just what?” Youwan teased. “Afraid jiejie won’t acknowledge you? That scared? Do you want jiejie to give you a stamp?”

Jinyi was confused. “How… a stamp?”

“You’re hopeless.” Youwan stepped forward, pinched her chin, and in full view of the passersby, pressed a kiss to her cheek. Then she pulled back, leaving behind a suggestive lip print.

Jinyi immediately covered her face in shame. There were so many people here—how could Youwan do this!

    Everyone had seen it…

She instinctively reached up to wipe it off, but Youwan caught her wrist and warned in a low voice: “Don’t you dare wipe it off.”

    “Someone… someone will laugh…”

Youwan said, “Unless you’d rather jiejie give you one right now that won’t come off.”

Jinyi obediently went still, her face flushing so red it nearly matched the lipstick mark.

Youwan took a lipstick from her bag and handed it over, tilting her chin up. “Touch up jiejie’s color.”

Jinyi’s lashes fluttered. She twisted the lipstick tube and—still wearing the lip print on her own cheek—had to reapply Youwan’s lipstick for her. She couldn’t help feeling it was all so…

Inexplicably shameful, and yet she had to admit she liked doing this kind of thing.

Youwan was just too overbearing. How could she be this domineering in a relationship?

Given that their relationship had always been somewhat unusual—not like other couples who’d been on many dates and seen many movies before getting together—she had proposed going on a proper date, watching a movie, experiencing the simple joys of an ordinary couple.

They walked into the cinema. The theater was nearly full. They’d chosen seats in the center of the back row, with an excellent view.

This was, arguably, the first time in her life that Jinyi had watched a movie in an ordinary cinema—before, it had always been private screenings.

The film began, and Jinyi felt a bit unaccustomed. Unaccustomed to watching a movie in such a crowded place, and even more unaccustomed to watching a movie while being… being touched…

Youwan didn’t hold her hand. Instead, her fingertips kept tracing circles in Jinyi’s palm, making it incredibly ticklish, and she wouldn’t let her pull away. Jinyi felt like she was being teased, but when she turned to look, Youwan was watching the big screen, perfectly focused, as if nothing else existed.

Jinyi wanted to drink milk tea, but she found that Youwan had already sipped from both cups. Both straws bore Youwan’s lip prints.

Even the milk tea had to be stamped. Jinyi grumbled to herself, took a sip anyway, and tried to focus on the movie, attempting to distract herself with the film and the drink.

But Youwan simply wouldn’t let her go.

Jinyi felt Youwan’s body begin to lean toward her, fingertips writing on her palm. She caught a trace of datura scent—just a faint, barely perceptible wisp that no one else around them could smell.

Jinyi’s gland responded almost instantly. She had no idea where the plot had gotten to. All she knew was that Youwan was writing on her palm, stroke by stroke:

    You’re so cute today.

Jinyi blinked. She was complimenting her.

She turned to look at Youwan. Youwan was still watching the movie, her profile softened by the dim light, gentle and elegant.

She was wearing a gentle, flowing dress, and even the way she drank her milk tea was gentle, the way she smiled was gentle.

The feeling made Jinyi somehow think of how Youwan had looked when she’d first come to the Jiang family. It was like a daze that transported her back to the old days, when Youwan wasn’t her girlfriend but her jiejie.

Just as she was lost in the moment, Youwan suddenly turned her head. Jinyi’s staring was caught. She blinked sheepishly. Youwan tipped her chin toward the screen. “Why are you looking at me? Watch the movie.”

Jinyi obediently looked at the big screen, where two women were now kissing passionately in a car. One of them was aggressive, kissing the other until she couldn’t breathe, reduced to whimpering for mercy.

“Watch carefully and learn. Xiao Jin needs to hurry up and learn how to kiss jiejie until she cries.” Youwan’s voice was low and husky by her ear. Without Jinyi noticing, the gland at the back of her neck was once again in Youwan’s grasp, being toyed with through the suppressant patch.

    “Don’t…”

Jinyi forced herself to stop after one word. The movie had reached a relatively quiet scene, and the theater was hushed. The slightest sound would be heard by everyone.

“Jiejie, stop…” she whispered, pleading with Youwan, almost pitifully.

Her gland was being manipulated, but with the suppressant patch on, her pheromones couldn’t be released at all. It drove her to the edge—her eyes reddening, barely able to hold on.

    “Jiejie…”

Youwan’s long, fox-like eyes curved with a soft, beautiful smile. Her gaze seemed to spin silk threads that connected to Jinyi’s brain, controlling her consciousness and desire.

Her full red lips parted. “Give jiejie a kiss, and she’ll let you go.”

Jinyi’s brain was a muddled mess, utterly incapable of rational thought. She cupped Youwan’s face and pressed a kiss to her lips—pressed close, even wanting to slip her tongue in—but Youwan reminded her: “Baby, there are security cameras here.”

Jinyi snapped awake and scrambled away from Youwan.

Youwan’s amused chuckle reached her ears. She breathed heavily, eyes shut.

So humiliating… Her sense of shame was always being provoked by Youwan.

Why did Youwan, clearly knowing there were cameras, still let her do something like that?

    She really was so bad…

After that kiss, Jinyi couldn’t calm down at all. The back of her neck throbbed, her pheromones unable to release, torturing her endlessly.

Halfway through the movie, she couldn’t take it anymore. She tugged at Youwan’s sleeve. “Jiejie, I don’t want to watch anymore.”

Youwan asked, feigning ignorance: “Why don’t you want to watch?”

Jinyi was about to cry, thoroughly willful. “I just don’t. Let’s go, hurry up!”

Youwan sighed, as if helpless. “What are we going to do with Xiao Jin.”

    “It’s obviously you who…”

    “Then… come with jiejie…”

They left the theater and headed to the underground parking garage. It was empty, but that didn’t guarantee no one would come. Xiao Jin’s only thought was getting back to the car and tearing off the suppressant patch.

She opened the rear door, and Youwan said, “Get in.”

Jinyi climbed into the back seat. Youwan followed right behind, shut the door, and pressed the button on the key fob—locking it.

The first thing Jinyi wanted to do was tear off the suppressant patch on the back of her neck. Youwan knelt on the seat, suddenly pressed down, and seized her wrist, preventing her from moving. “Did I say you could take it off?”

“Wu, tear it off for me, please…”

Youwan kissed the corner of her mouth and her cheek, leaving lip prints—stamping her, stamping her again and again.

“Why tear it off? Tear it off and you’ll make jiejie go into heat with you? Look outside, Xiao Jin—this is a parking garage.”

Youwan’s words registered with Jinyi one by one. She became aware of where they were. A tremendous wave of shame flooded her brain. She must have been spoiled by Youwan back in the office recently—because she actually thought, here, they could…

“R-right here…” she said, barely overcoming her enormous embarrassment, her face covered in lip prints, looking thoroughly ravaged.

“Hmm?” Youwan asked. “What do you want to do here?”

Jinyi couldn’t help pressing her lips to her fair neck, leaving a lip print there too. “I want to mark jiejie…”

“Why do you want to mark jiejie?”

    “Because, because…”

Jinyi gave a reason that Youwan couldn’t possibly refuse: “Because I want jiejie’s scent to stay on me all the time…”

She hadn’t marked her in days, and the scent had faded. She loved having Youwan’s fragrance clinging to her—it gave her the feeling that Youwan was always there, always indulging her, always watching over her, staking her claim against all the omegas around who wanted to approach her.

    She loved that feeling, inexplicably.

Youwan paused. Deep in her pupils, excitement and thick possessiveness spread. She tore off the suppressant patch on the back of Jinyi’s neck, and the scent of hyacinth instantly filled the entire car.

Youwan knelt on the soft seat, her skirt hiked to her waist. Only then did Jinyi discover that beneath her gentle, virtuous exterior, she had been wearing lingerie to the movies with her. This was the car—that car she loved most, the car Youwan had always driven to pick her up and drop her off ever since she turned eighteen. This car was filled with her memories of pure sisterly love for Youwan. As she finally got her wish and sank her teeth into the back of that neck, listening to the soft, rising and falling sounds by her ear, Jinyi drifted in a haze and realized: this entire forbidden madness had been premeditated by Youwan. Could it be that Youwan had been planning this for a very, very long time…

After her condition stabilized, Jinyi was transferred to a private hospital in Luo City.

In the days that followed, the relationship between Youwan and Jinyi became somewhat awkward and delicate. Even their occasional exchanges felt stiff and distant.

Youwan knew that Jinyi now knew she wasn’t her biological sister. But she didn’t know what Jinyi thought of her now—disgust? Indifference? Could she accept it? What attitude would she take? She didn’t know any of it.

Youwan knew Xiao Jin was easy to fool and easy to coax. She wanted to coax her—but Ningshu was there.

Ningshu had been staying in the hospital room with Jinyi these past few days, running between the hospital and the company. So many things didn’t fall to her—she didn’t need to administer medicine, didn’t need to change dressings, didn’t need to sleep over, and apparently didn’t need to offer comfort either.

She had no right to speak, and she couldn’t bring up those forbidden topics in front of Ningshu.

So these past few days, her time at the hospital was also relatively limited—partly because Ningshu had assigned her work, and partly because she needed to continue investigating and confirming that matter.

She could properly coax Xiao Jin once Ningshu left.

In truth, the fact that the false skin of “biological sister” had been stripped away wasn’t, to Youwan, a bad thing at all. A thought arose in her that even she found somewhat unbelievable—and lowly and shameless.

If she wasn’t a biological sister, she could do things to Jiang Jinyi that a biological sister couldn’t. Wasn’t that right?

    As for Huo Qi…

A dark glint flashed through Youwan’s eyes. She would make her pay.

That night, after Jinyi had fallen asleep, Ningshu returned to the Jiang Family Villa for the first time. She’d been staying at the hospital every night before. Now that Jinyi’s emotional state and physical condition had improved significantly, she could finally go home and get a proper night’s rest.

Youwan rode back in the same car with her. They got out one after the other—Ningshu walking ahead, Youwan following respectfully behind.

From the courtyard gate to the villa entrance, not a single word passed between them.

If it had been Jinyi, she would have linked arms with her mother, close and affectionate—a picture of maternal warmth and filial devotion.

Youwan was too composed in front of Ningshu, and Ningshu was too cold toward Youwan. They looked like a superior and a subordinate—nothing about them suggested they were mother and daughter.

A servant opened the front door for Ningshu. She stepped through, but after just a few paces, she sensed something wrong. She stopped and frowned.

She paused, lowered her head, and saw a cat lying at her feet. The cat was exposing its belly, round eyes staring up at her, as if begging to be petted.

Youwan stepped forward and picked up the cat. Ningshu’s expression changed slightly—she turned her head and rubbed the tip of her nose. The reaction quickly subsided, and she ordered Youwan: “Come upstairs with me.”

Youwan nodded, set the cat down, and followed Ningshu up.

In the study, Ningshu sat in the chair while Youwan stood respectfully before her. Coldness filled Ningshu’s brow. “Why is there such a thing in the house?”

    Such a thing—meaning the cat.

“Xiao Jin brought it back a while ago. She likes it very much.” Youwan answered truthfully.

“Xiao Jin brought it back…” Ningshu reproached, “You shouldn’t have let her bring that kind of thing home.”

Youwan lowered her eyes and said nothing.

Ningshu’s voice was stern. “Go throw it away.”

Youwan looked up in surprise. “Throw it away?”

“Yes, throw it away. Don’t let me see it in this house again.” Ningshu’s tone was imperious, allowing no refusal.

Under that crushing gaze, Youwan seemed to have no room to refuse. Aside from obeying, she had no choice.

Ningshu added: “If Xiao Jin asks, you’re not allowed to tell her I told you to throw it away. However she carries on, you handle it yourself.”

    “Understood.”

At night, the hospital room was quiet. Ningshu sat by the bed and tentatively called the girl’s name. When she heard only steady breathing and no response, she rose and left.

The door clicked shut—crisp and faint. The girl on the bed slowly opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling, her expression forlorn.

There were things she simply couldn’t understand.

She’d thought about it for days and still couldn’t understand.

She couldn’t understand why, when she’d been so seriously injured, Youwan hadn’t come to comfort her these past days. Hadn’t come to coax her. Hadn’t said a single caring word to her.

    Hadn’t even spoken to her.

These past days, she’d been unable to figure it out.

She’d been doted on since childhood—held in the palm of everyone’s hand, unable to be dropped or bumped. She’d been spoiled rotten. She just felt that the whole world ought to indulge her, that the whole world ought to revolve around her.

That day, she’d learned the news that left her stunned: Youwan was not her biological sister.

She’d thought about it all night and waited for Youwan all night. She decided it didn’t matter. Whether Youwan was her biological sister or not, whatever reason she’d come to the Jiang family—as long as she didn’t do anything to hurt her, didn’t do anything to harm the Jiang family, she could accept it.

But why was it Youwan who stopped talking to her first?

    She truly couldn’t understand.

She had her pride. She was a tsundere. She thought: if Youwan didn’t come to coax her, she wouldn’t acknowledge her. As a result, she’d been hospitalized for over ten days, and Youwan really hadn’t come to coax her. They’d barely even spoken.

She was truly, deeply sad—and she couldn’t make sense of it.

Tomorrow was her discharge day, but she was so sad she couldn’t sleep.

The author has something to say:

Thank you all for the nutrient solutions—Jiejie’s little tree is thriving!
