    A Blind Person

    Painting

Jiang Youwan was brought into the art studio by Jiang Jinyi.

She had never allowed anyone else into this room. It was a forbidden area within the entire villa, hiding many of her secrets.

But bringing in a blind person seemed harmless enough.

Jiang Jinyi’s art studio was sprawling, featuring a massive floor-to-ceiling window that looked out onto the villa’s backyard. The windowsill was crowded with lush plants and fresh flowers, and the walls were covered with her paintings.

In front of the window sat several easels, chairs, a plush sofa, a computer, and a bar counter with a coffee machine. It looked exceptionally comfortable. The air was suffused with a faint floral fragrance; just sitting here was a pleasure in itself.

“This is the first time I’ve brought someone in here. You should feel honored,” Jiang Jinyi said as she made her sit on the plush sofa.

Jiang Youwan was currently in a state of needing to coax her, so naturally, she went along with whatever Jiang Jinyi said.

“Mm, I am honored,” she said. Although she couldn’t see, she could sense that this was a very comfortable place.

Jiang Jinyi brought over a set of paints, stood in front of her, and began to mix them with a brush.

The scent of the pigment gradually spread, but it wasn’t pungent. The paints used by the Eldest Miss of the Jiang family were naturally of top-tier quality.

Jiang Youwan faintly realized that the little girl in front of her was about to do something to her.

Having mixed the paint, Jiang Jinyi dabbed a bit of white onto the tip of Jiang Youwan’s nose. It felt ice-cold, but still lacked any acrid smell.

Next came blue and greenβ€”on her cheeks, her forehead, her eyelids, her jaw…

Jiang Jinyi painted directly onto Jiang Youwan’s face. Even her eyelashes and strands of hair were stained with varying colors of pigment.

But leaning over was a bit tiring. Jiang Jinyi propped her right knee on the sofa, gripped Jiang Youwan’s jaw with one hand, and commanded, “Look up.”

Jiang Youwan submissively tilted her head up. Her long hair cascaded down, forming a beautiful arc. Though her face was smeared with paint, it could not conceal her beauty.

She breathed shallowly, exuding an indescribable fragility.

“Youwan-jiejie? Is it alright if I call you that?” Jiang Jinyi’s words dripped with cloying sweetness, yet her actions were utterly malicious. She deliberately called her “Jiejie” to make her acutely aware that she was being humiliated by her own younger sister.

Jiang Jinyi looked down at her from above. One was high, the other low, yet the physical distance between them was intimately close. When she spoke, her sweet, soft breath brushed against Jiang Youwan’s face. She had never been this close to anyone before, or rather, she had never been subjected to this kind of punishment.

From childhood to adulthood, she had endured countless punishmentsβ€”whippings, solitary confinement, starvation, corporal punishment… As a result, simply hearing the word “punishment” made her body tense up involuntarily to brace against the physical pain.

She had never received such a gentle punishment.

So, this was the kind of punishment a child would dole out.

“This is my first time using a person as a canvas. I want to paint you into an ugly monster,” Jiang Jinyi murmured. She let out a light chuckle, dabbed a bit of red on the brush, and delicately outlined a shape.

“You look so pathetic right now. I told you not to make me angry. Do you know how expensive that vase was? If I paint a picture on your face and auction it off, do you think I can earn enough to pay for it?” Jiang Jinyi deliberately conjured up these harsh words to provoke her.

Jiang Youwan parted her lips slightly but remained silent.

Jiang Jinyi frowned, grumbling inwardly, Why doesn’t this woman react at all to being humiliated? It robbed her of any sense of accomplishment in bullying her.

    The intensity clearly wasn’t enough.

Unconvinced, Jiang Jinyi abruptly released her jaw and set the paints aside on a small wooden table.

She scurried over to a box, opened it, and rummaged through it. The rustling sounds continued for quite a while before she seemingly found what she was looking for and trotted eagerly back to Jiang Youwan.

In her fair, beautiful hands, she held a leather collar. At the front hung a silver bell, followed by a silver chain that jingled crisply with the slightest movement.

This was a prop Jiang Jinyi had previously bought as a reference for drawing dogs. Now, she was going to use it on Jiang Youwan. If an older sister was treated like a dog by her younger sister, she would feel utterly humiliated, wouldn’t she?

She just wanted to see her angryβ€”the angrier, the better. Who told her to shatter her vase? If they were both angry, Jiang Jinyi thought, I would have someone to coax me, but she would have no one. It would be best if she was driven to tears!

Jiang Jinyi undid the clasp, bent down, and swept Jiang Youwan’s hair to one side, exposing a slender, swan-like neck to her sight. A second later, a black collar was fastened around that vulnerable throat.

As her movements shifted, the silver bell jingled. Realizing exactly what had just been clasped around her neck, Jiang Youwan’s expression shifted slightly, and she couldn’t help but stir.

The visual impact was striking, evoking an indescribable sensuality.

    “Don’t move!” Jiang Jinyi scolded.

Jiang Youwan froze. She pressed her lips together slightly and sat quietly and obediently on the sofa.

Her face was beautiful. Jiang Jinyi hadn’t painted her ugly at allβ€”she wouldn’t allow her own artwork to be ugly. She had covered her face with painted hyacinths in shades of blue and red. It looked lovely, and the collar only enhanced it, adding a hint of sensuality to her cold, aloof demeanor, leaving one’s imagination to run wild.

But this sort of dynamic shouldn’t exist between them.

What kind of younger sister forced a collar onto her older sister?

But Jiang Jinyi didn’t consider her an older sister.

A teasing note colored her voice as she asked, “Do you know what I drew on your face?”

Jiang Youwan didn’t know. She shook her head gently. Accompanying the motion, the bell chimedβ€”a sound that should have been pleasant to the ear, but to Jiang Youwan, it was unimaginably grating.

She instantly stopped moving, her breathing turning shallow.

Jiang Jinyi let out a light laugh and said mysteriously, “I painted a turtle on your face, along with a caterpillar and a stinkbug. And now that you’re wearing my collar, you’ve becomeβ€””

Jiang Jinyi paused for effect, her fragrant breath brushing against Jiang Youwan’s ear. “My little dog.”

“This is your punishment.” Jiang Jinyi’s voice was honey-sweet, yet the words she spoke were terribly vicious.

Jiang Youwan’s eyelashes trembled, and her voice quivered as she accused, “How can you be so bad?” She appeared entirely flushed with shame.

Seeing her look so pitiful, Jiang Jinyi felt satisfied, yet she still felt it wasn’t quite enough. This villain had shattered her vase on her very first day in the house; she needed to be thoroughly punished.

She retorted with childish petulance, “You’re the one who’s bad.”

She left Jiang Youwan leaning back against the sofa. Jiang Youwan wore a white button-down shirt with a slightly loosened collar, her face covered in painted flowers, and a black collar fastened around her neck. With her eyes closed, she looked both disheveled and steeped in an artistic aura.

Jiang Jinyi found her camera and snapped several pictures in a row.

“Is that enough?” Jiang Youwan asked, suppressing her emotions, her breathing growing heavier.

“Not even close.” Jiang Jinyi took hold of the other end of the chain and smiled sweetly at her. “My painting looks so beautiful, so of course I need to take it out and show it off. Wouldn’t you agree, Youwan-jiejie?”

To degrade someone like this, and then put them on display?

Jiang Youwan bit her lip and softly breathed out, “Don’t…”

Jiang Jinyi pouted. “That’s not up to you.”

Spoiled, petulant whining that was rotten to the core.

Yanking on the chain, Jiang Jinyi hauled her up from the sofa with little gentleness. Seeing her resist slightly, Jiang Jinyi lowered her voice. “Who told you to upset me? Let me tell you right now, there is only one Eldest Miss in the Jiang family, and that’s me. If you disobey and make me angry again, I’ll have you thrown out immediately.”

The studio door opened and closed. They walked one after the other. Showing a sliver of conscience by accommodating Jiang Youwan’s blindness, Jiang Jinyi didn’t descend the stairs too quickly. The servants exchanged glances, not daring to speak. Aunt Cai was the most panicked of all, so tense she didn’t even dare breathe loudly.

During last year’s summer vacation, Jiang Ningshu had brought a relative’s daughter over to visitβ€”an older cousin. Because the girl had been too handsy and meddled with Jiang Jinyi’s belongings, Jiang Jinyi had the servants pack up her luggage right then and there and throw both the girl and her bags out onto the street.

She hadn’t given her a shred of face.

Now, painting someone’s face and strapping them with a collar meant for a dog was hardly any better than tossing them out onto the main road.

Jiang Jinyi led her to a corner of the backyard. The yard was vast, and they walked quite a distance. Taking advantage of Jiang Youwan’s blindness, Jiang Jinyi tried to scare her: “You’re standing right in the middle of a busy street right now. So many people are staring at you. How about I just leave you here so they can admire my artwork?”

With that, Jiang Jinyi dropped the leash and turned to leave. Jiang Youwan immediately threw her hand out, grabbing the hem of her shirt. Biting her lip, she cried out in panic, “Don’t!”
