The Amnesiac Omega Who Reels Me In Every Day – Chapter 32
by Little PandaCat-like Girlfriend
She Has Such Elegant Poise
If anyone were to claim that Jiang Youwan possessed the most powerful presence among all Omegas, no one would dare to contradict them.
Even though she was clearly an Omega, her pheromones carried the scent of the mysterious and dangerous datura1—a flower laden with lethal poison.
Of course, pheromones themselves were not actually toxic, yet hers were powerful enough to make an A-class Alpha’s knees go weak.
In this world, Alphas were naturally dominant, while Omegas were born delicate. Yet, this absolute law of nature had been shattered entirely by Jiang Youwan.
An Alpha could actually be reduced to a cold sweat under the crushing pressure of an Omega.
Jiang Youwan slowly slid her fingers between Jiang Jinyi’s, interlacing their hands. Her thumb gently stroked the back of the younger girl’s hand in a deeply tender, comforting gesture.
Liang Wei’s earlier rage was thoroughly extinguished. Like a drowned rat, he shook his head frantically. “N-No, nothing like that.”
“President Jiang, I didn’t want to do anything! I didn’t touch a single hair on Second Miss Jiang’s head! Truly, I swear it!”
Jiang Youwan ignored Liang Wei’s pleas entirely, turning her head to look at Jiang Jinyi. Today, Jiang Jinyi was wearing exquisite makeup, her eyeliner swept at a perfect angle that made one’s heart itch with desire.
Her red lips resembled strawberry-flavored jelly, and the plump, inviting curve of her lip-bead stirred a fierce desire to lean in and bite.
“Did he bully you?” she asked softly, gazing at her lovely face.
She hadn’t seen Xiao Jin in what felt like forever. She missed her terribly, yet she was also somewhat afraid. This constant, anxious dread of losing her could only be eased when Jiang Jinyi was safely within her sight.
Jiang Jinyi replied with righteous indignation, “He absolutely did! Look at him—he even wanted to splash water on me! He came here specifically to ruin my exhibition. If that isn’t bullying, what is?”
And she was right—Jiang Jinyi was not lying. Liang Wei, that absolute dumbass2, had tried to sow discord between her and Jiang Youwan. He had even tried to disgust her with his pheromones, and now he wanted to throw water on her. How was that not bullying?
Sure, she had been the one to splash a glass of water in Liang Wei’s face first, but so what? She splashed him because she felt like it.
She was domineering, proud, and willful. She never had to consider the consequences of her actions. In everyone’s eyes, she was the epitome of a spoiled girl with princess syndrome3.
She had no idea how many people despised her or how many wanted nothing more than to humiliate her, yet she loved nothing more than watching them hate her guts while being entirely powerless to destroy her.
After all, no matter what she did, there would always be someone standing behind her, backing her up—wouldn’t there?
Jiang Jinyi felt that she had the backing to do whatever she wanted.
“Is that so?” Jiang Youwan murmured in a conspiratorial whisper, leaning close. “Then we’ll throw him out, okay?”
“Yes!” Jiang Jinyi’s eyes lit up as she added fiercely, “Throw him out! The more pathetic he looks, the better!”
Though they spoke in whispers, practically everyone in the surrounding crowd heard them clearly, and their jaws dropped.
If ordinary people had gone through what they had, they would have remained bitter enemies for life. Yet these two sisters had actually reconciled in barely over a month.
Everyone had assumed Jiang Youwan came to crash the event, but she had actually showed up to protect her own.
Before long, two hulking bodyguards marched in. Grabbing Liang Wei from both sides, they hoisted him out of the exhibition hall. Entirely unmoved by his desperate curses and empty threats, they tossed him right onto the side of the main road.
It was a literal “toss,” executed in perfect accordance with Jiang Jinyi’s wishes.
With the brief interlude resolved, the art exhibition resumed.
Jiang Youwan let Jiang Jinyi lead her by the hand as they wandered through the gallery.
Jiang Youwan had never expected that she would be able to openly hold Jiang Jinyi’s hand while viewing this exhibition.
She had originally believed she would only be allowed to watch from afar, harboring an unspeakable jealousy toward those who had received Jiang Jinyi’s invitations. She had felt so wronged.
Incredibly wronged.
Being led by Jiang Jinyi felt like a dream. She felt lightheaded, floating on air, enveloped in a comfort so profound it felt surreal. What should she do? She was about to be utterly intoxicated by this rush of happiness.
This feeling of having Xiao Jin all to herself amidst the bustling crowd… she wanted it. She desperately, truly wanted to hold onto it for the rest of her life.
Eagerly, Jiang Jinyi pulled her over to a certain painting. Both of them looked up at the canvas, which depicted a blue hyacinth and a black datura. The two blossoms leaned against one another, their stems and roots tightly intertwined, as if they were the only two living things in the world—blooming solely for each other.
Yet at the same time, there was a dark, suffocating undertone—as if each flower yearned to strangle the other, dragging them both into a mutual death.
It was a tangle of love and hate.
“Look, does this depict you and me?” Jiang Jinyi asked, turning her gaze toward her. “I don’t remember anymore. What is this painting trying to express? I must have told you back then. Tell me, please?”
Jiang Youwan’s heart began to race furiously the moment she laid eyes on the painting. She reacted a beat too slow, only then realizing that Jiang Jinyi was waiting for an answer.
After a brief silence, Jiang Youwan leaned close to her ear, murmuring in a soft, nasal tone, “It’s you and me, of course. It means that Xiao Jin will always be with jiejie. Xiao Jin can’t live without jiejie, and jiejie can’t live without Xiao Jin.”
“So, has anyone tried to buy this painting yet? You must tell them it’s not for sale.”
Jiang Jinyi stared blankly for a moment. What an incredibly sappy sentiment.
Granted, she might indeed paint something like this, but would she really have the nerve to say such things to Jiang Youwan?
To tell her that she couldn’t live without her.
It was seriously so sappy!
Observing her rapidly shifting expressions, Jiang Youwan’s brows twitched slightly, her eyes darkening. “What? Doesn’t Xiao Jin believe me?”
“Did I really tell you that myself?” Jiang Jinyi asked.
Jiang Youwan nodded. “Mm-hmm.”
Embarrassed, Jiang Jinyi looked away, muttering under her breath, “Then I must have been completely drunk at the time.”
Getting drunk was always a recipe for social death4. Otherwise, how could she have ever told Jiang Youwan something as mortifying as “I can’t live without you”?
Gazing at Jiang Youwan’s elegant and composed profile, Jiang Jinyi tried to change the subject. “Didn’t you say you were busy? Why did you still come?”
Jiang Youwan smiled. “To help Xiao Jin vent her anger, of course.”
“But how did you know I was being bullied?” Jiang Jinyi pressed.
In truth, she already had an inkling of why Jiang Youwan had come. She simply wanted to ask, to keep talking to her. After all, they hadn’t seen each other in over half a month.
Jiang Youwan beckoned her closer with a finger. Without a second thought, Jiang Jinyi leaned in. Jiang Youwan’s lips brushed so close they almost touched her ear, yet she exercised restraint, stopping just short. “Take a guess,” she whispered.
Jiang Jinyi: “…”
Jiang Jinyi pulled back, staring at her with utter speechlessness. “You’re so childish.”
Jiang Youwan could not help but laugh, her voice soft and even. “Because we have a telepathic bond. Jiejie just knew Xiao Jin would be bullied. That’s why, from now on, if anything happens, you must tell jiejie immediately. And even if nothing’s wrong, you should take the initiative to reach out to jiejie. Understand?”
What did this painting really mean?
She wanted to know, too.
She desperately, frantically wanted to know. During those four years when Xiao Jin had harbored nothing but hatred for her, why on earth had she painted this piece?
What had been running through her mind as she painted it?
Jiang Youwan wanted to know—wanted to know so badly it drove her mad—yet she was terrified of the only person who knew the truth, Jiang Jinyi, recovering those memories.
Let her forget all the bad things. All that blood-deep hatred… let it all be forgotten.
It would be best if she never remembered.
They spent over an hour at the gallery before finally leaving.
Jiang Youwan’s driver had already been waiting for some time. Faced with the choice between her own car in Bei City and Jiang Youwan’s ride, Jiang Jinyi decisively chose the latter.
Sinking into the backseat, Jiang Jinyi leaned back wearily and sighed, “I’m so tired.”
Jiang Youwan turned to look at her, her eyes brimming with doting concern. “Didn’t you sleep well last night?” she asked softly. “There’s still a bit of a drive back to the hotel. You can close your eyes and rest for a bit.”
“Last night, I only slept… I only slept for four hours.” Jiang Jinyi counted the hours on her fingers, holding up four fingers. Propping herself up with one hand on the seat, she leaned closer to Jiang Youwan and gave her hand a little wave, her lips pouted in a pitiful expression.
She looked exactly like a pitiful kitten begging to be rua’d5.
She was so beautiful. Her eyes were captivating, her long black hair swaying gently over her chest, and with her French-style bangs, she looked both darling and playful. Was this the legendary cat-like girlfriend? If only she had a pair of fluffy ears on her head and a black collar around her neck… she would undoubtedly be even cuter.
Jiang Youwan’s heart stirred. She reached out and gently stroked Jiang Jinyi’s hair. Rather than resisting, the younger girl seemed to be enjoying it.
Jiang Jinyi narrowed her eyes, her voice sweet, soft, and lazy. “Do you pet Xiao Yu like this every single day?”
“Hmm?” Jiang Youwan blinked. “Of course. Xiao Yu acts cute and begs for a rua every single day. I can’t resist it, so naturally, I have to satisfy it.”
Jiang Jinyi let out an almost imperceptible huff. She seemed jealous, though it was hard to tell who she was actually jealous of—was she jealous that Jiang Youwan got to cuddle Xiao Yu every day, or was she jealous that Xiao Yu was the one getting cuddled by Jiang Youwan?
Jiang Youwan gave a soft chuckle. Applying gentle pressure, she guided Jiang Jinyi’s head down onto her shoulder. Jiang Jinyi slumped against her, leaning her entire weight on her. But before long, she pulled away. Jiang Youwan looked at her, only for Jiang Jinyi to grumble, “Your shoulder is too hard. It’s digging into me. I don’t want to lean on it.”
Her shoulder was too hard?
“Then what does Xiao Jin want to lean on?” Jiang Youwan’s seductive eyes curved as she leaned in, her breath sweet as orchids against her ear. “Since you find my shoulder too uncomfortable, is that why you love to bury your face in my chest so much? You do it every time we hug. Do you want to do it now, too? But there are people in the front, darling. How about we wait until we get home?”
Jiang Jinyi: “…”
Jiang Jinyi’s eyes went wide as her voice spiked. “W-When did I ever say I wanted to—”
“Shh,” Jiang Youwan interrupted, placing her index finger against the girl’s lips. “There are people in the front, and jiejie is a little shy. Don’t say any more, Xiao Jin…”
Jiang Jinyi shut her mouth instantly, stealing a glance toward the front. The driver was focusing entirely on the road, while Secretary Lin sat in the passenger seat with her spine ramrod-straight, looking as though she didn’t even know where to put her feet.
It was incredibly awkward. In the entire car, only Jiang Youwan was smiling with serene composure. Where was the “shy” in that?
Jiang Jinyi’s face flushed a deep crimson. It took her a long moment before she gritted her teeth and cursed under her breath, “Bastard.”
Simply calling her a bastard was hardly enough to vent her frustration. Just as she opened her mouth to curse a second time, Jiang Youwan guided her head down onto her lap.
“Alright, no more teasing. Go to sleep.”
Jiang Youwan’s thighs were certainly not hard. They were soft and wonderfully plump. As Jiang Jinyi lay her head down, she suddenly felt something was amiss. Just who was the one teasing here?
It was clearly Jiang Youwan who had been acting up the entire time, yet whenever she spoke, it always felt as though Jiang Jinyi was the one being unreasonably difficult.
Jiang Youwan always maintained such effortless poise, leaving Jiang Jinyi as the only flustered one. It was incredibly infuriating…
Jiang Jinyi was indeed exhausted, and Jiang Youwan’s lap was genuinely comfortable. Within moments, she drifted off to sleep. Jiang Youwan’s gaze rested upon her sleeping face, her dark eyes harboring an intense, hidden obsession.
What she relished most was this sight of Xiao Jin trusting her unconditionally, completely devoid of any defense.
She was so adorable, and she belonged solely to her.
Jiang Youwan retrieved a small box from her bag. Opening it, she took out a pair of earplugs and gently inserted them into Jiang Jinyi’s ears. Then, she raised her eyes, her gaze shifting instantly.
“What was the deal with that man?”
Secretary Lin replied, “He’s the eldest son of the Liang family. He’s very close to Su Yi and had designs on the Second Miss, trying to drive a wedge between you and her. It was my oversight for failing to notice sooner.”
Jiang Youwan parted her lips to ask, “How did Xiao Jin react?”
“Second Miss was furious after hearing that Chairman Jiang had once considered a marriage alliance with the Liang family. Without a second word, she splashed water right in Young Master Liang’s face.”
Secretary Lin was about to suggest that perhaps the Second Miss had been a bit too reckless—after all, this was her own art exhibition, and had Jiang Youwan not arrived in time, there was no telling what kind of scene Liang Wei would have caused—but before she could organize her thoughts, a soft sigh drifted from the back seat.
Jiang Youwan chuckled softly, a doting warmth flooding her features. She gave Jiang Jinyi’s earlobe a gentle pinch. “So good.”
Secretary Lin: “…Good?”
After returning to the hotel, Jiang Jinyi fell asleep again, only waking up as late afternoon approached. Opening her eyes, she found herself alone in the room. She tossed back the blanket and stepped out of bed to get some water. As soon as she walked out of the bedroom, she saw Jiang Youwan sitting on the living room sofa, working with a laptop on her lap.
Jiang Youwan was still wearing her navy-blue tailored suit and pencil skirt, leaving a long stretch of her fair, slender thighs exposed to the air—a thoroughly enticing sight. Yet, the silver-wire glasses perched on her nose and her intense focus as she worked lent her an air of cold, forbidden restraint. She looked untouchable, formidable, and deeply serious.
—She has such elegant poise. It must really hurt when she hits someone.
Jiang Jinyi stared, slightly dazed. The sudden thought flashed through her mind, startling even herself.
Why would she ever hit someone herself? If she ever needed to resort to violence, her bodyguards would surely do it for her.
“Xiao Jin?” Jiang Youwan raised her eyes and saw her standing at the doorway. She immediately took off her silver-wire glasses, asking with a smile, “Have you slept enough?”
Jiang Jinyi nodded. “Why are you still working?”
Jiang Youwan sighed with mild resignation, parting her lips to say, “Because work is incredibly busy. In order to slip away and give Xiao Jin a surprise, I have to make up for so many tasks I put off. I’m so tired.”
A look of pure grievance colored Jiang Youwan’s eyes as she spoke, her voice laced with a petulant tone. Her longing to be coaxed and pampered was entirely unconcealed. She was a far cry from the stern, imposing figure of a moment ago, showing a soft, vulnerable side that was reserved exclusively for Jiang Jinyi.
Was Jiang Youwan actually acting spoiled with her?
Jiang Jinyi blinked, a strange, indescribable feeling washing over her heart. It felt almost like… she was aching for her?
“Then rest for a bit. Stop working for now and just relax.”
Clearly unsatisfied with Jiang Jinyi’s mere verbal comfort, Jiang Youwan patted the empty cushion beside her on the sofa. “How should I relax?” she asked in a soft, sweet voice. “Xiao Jin, come over and help me.”
Jiang Jinyi had a vague inkling of what she meant by “help.” Jiang Youwan probably wanted a hug. They always said that hugs could recharge someone and relieve fatigue, so she might as well let her have one.
Jiang Jinyi obediently walked over to her. But just as she was about to sit down, the doorbell rang. She had no choice but to go and open the door first. Standing outside was Xiao Qin.
“Miss.”
Hearing that soft, sweet voice, Jiang Youwan narrowed her fox-like eyes and cast a sideways glance toward the door.
As a fellow Omega, she was instantly sensitive to the presence of another Omega’s scent leaking into the air.
“What’s wrong?” Jiang Jinyi asked.
“It’s already four in the afternoon,” Xiao Qin said gently. “The celebration banquet you’re hosting tonight is coming up soon. I came to remind you to get ready.”
Only then did Jiang Jinyi remember that she was hosting a celebration banquet. Immediately, another thought crossed her mind, and she asked Xiao Qin with mounting excitement, “I asked you to invite Wen Ye. Did she agree?”
Xiao Qin’s eyes curved into crescents. “She agreed. She even said she’s looking forward to it.”
“That’s amazing!” Jiang Jinyi grew even more thrilled. Once Xiao Qin left, she wanted to immediately head back to change her clothes and apply some light makeup. Watching the radiant smile plastering her face, Jiang Youwan’s eyes darkened as she asked, “Are you going out for dinner, Xiao Jin?”
“Mm-hmm!” Wholly oblivious to the resentment dripping from Jiang Youwan’s tone, Jiang Jinyi said excitedly, “Guess who I managed to invite? Wen Ye! Have I ever told you how much I absolutely adore her paintings? I’m telling you, she actually came to see my exhibition this morning! I really didn’t expect that we were already acquainted. It’s such a shame I forgot how we met, but that’s fine—I can ask her tonight to…”
In the middle of Jiang Jinyi’s excited chatter, Jiang Youwan blurted out coldly, “I’m going too.”
“Huh?” Jiang Jinyi blinked in surprise. Looking at the laptop whose screen was still glowing beside them, she said out of genuine concern, “But don’t you still have so much work to do?”
Jiang Youwan’s jaw tightened slightly, her voice turning icy. “Do you want me to work that badly, Xiao Jin? Do you really think work is that important?”
The author has something to say:
I’ve given you everything, baby. Author-jiejie doesn’t have a single drop left.
