    Helplessly Yielding

    Bullying

Jiang Youwan was also an SSS-class omega, and given that she and Jiang Jinyi used to have a sisterly relationship, with Jiang Youwan taking care of her in the capacity of an older sister, Jiang Jinyi naturally hadn’t thought about things that way. She had simply taken Jiang Youwan’s kindness as the rightful care an older sister showed to a younger one.

She had always enjoyed that kindness with a clear conscience, never once suspecting a thing.

In truth, society today was open-minded. There was no such thing as a normal or abnormal sexual orientation; it was all about following one’s heart. Whether between men and women, women and women, or men and men, alpha-alpha and omega-omega romances1 were perfectly normal.

Jiang Jinyi was the same. She had no fixed sexual orientation; what mattered was meeting the right person.

    Did Jiang Youwan like her?

Did she? If she liked her, why would she frame her mother so viciously, driving her to her death? Why would she have done that kind of thing to her in the past?

But if she didn’t like her, why treat her so well now? Even if she had been faking it before, what about now? There was absolutely no need for her to pretend anymore.

The entirety of Jiang Corporation was in her hands. What need did she have to tolerate Jiang Jinyi’s temper?

Jiang Jinyi couldn’t figure it out. If it truly was love, when exactly had Jiang Youwan started liking her?

She remembered when Jiang Youwan first arrived at the Jiang household. She hadn’t treated her like an older sister at allβ€”she had even treated her like a dog, doing truly terrible things to her.

    Truly, utterly terrible.

Could someone really fall in love with the person bullying them? Jiang Youwan must really be sick in the head.

Five years ago, on the morning after Jiang Youwan had been brought home, Aunt Cai had gone into her room to wake her and led her to the bathroom to wash up.

Jiang Youwan’s face was incredibly pale. She looked sickly, exuding the frailty of an invalid beauty. But Aunt Cai didn’t care about her and didn’t notice.

Jiang Youwan had already been blind for over half a year. Since losing her sight, she hadn’t opened her eyes again, utterly unable to see the world. Yet she seemed to possess another way of perceiving things. Her movements weren’t clumsy or stumbling; they were just a little slow. She needed to feel her way forward carefully, moving with great caution to ensure she didn’t break anything.

When she finished washing up and Aunt Cai went to find her again, the servant wore a look of shock, her shrill voice ringing out loudly, “How could you break the Miss’s vase?”

    Vase?

A rare expression surfaced on Jiang Youwan’s face. She furrowed her brow in confusion but didn’t speak.

The other servants were quickly drawn over by Aunt Cai’s yelling, only to see a shattered vase by Jiang Youwan’s feet.

“Oh my god, she actually kicked and broke the Miss’s favorite vase!”

“She’s dead meat. Imagine how angry the Miss will be when she finds out.”

“Tsk, tsk, tsk. I heard this thing costs hundreds of thousands. How did she go and stir up trouble right after arriving…”

The servants’ gossiping chattered endlessly in her ears. Jiang Youwan’s temples throbbed with a rhythmic ache. Parting her lips, she said, “I wasn’t the one who kicked it.”

“If it wasn’t you, then who was it?” Aunt Cai aggressively demanded, scolding her. “We all have eyes; how could we be careless enough to break the Miss’s vase? You’re the only one who can’t see, and you weren’t even careful!”

Hearing this, Jiang Youwan’s expression turned apathetic. She said nothing more.

She understood that saying anything would be useless.

Footsteps echoed from upstairs. The servants uniformly looked toward the sound. Aunt Cai asked nervously, “Miss, why are you up?”

Jiang Jinyi had clearly just woken up. Her hair was messy as she walked downstairs, rubbing her eyes. She shot Aunt Cai a look of disdain. “You’re being so loud. If I didn’t wake up, wouldn’t I be a pig?”

    Aunt Cai: …

“Miss, this young lady broke your vase. See…”

Jiang Jinyi looked over, only to see a multitude of porcelain shards scattered around Jiang Youwan’s feet. Her expression changed drastically; her face darkened.

    “Which bastard did this?”

Aunt Cai pointed at Jiang Youwan and declared with absolute certainty, “We all saw it. She accidentally kicked it.”

Everyone knew that Jiang Jinyi’s possessiveness was extraordinarily strong. What she hated most was others touching her belongings without permission. Even if it was an unintentional act, she was entirely capable of firing someone over it when she was in a bad mood.

Let alone actually breaking her things.

Jiang Jinyi was infuriated. She marched right up to Jiang Youwan. Sensing her approach, Jiang Youwan lowered her head slightly.

“You made me angry!” Jiang Jinyi looked up at her, enunciating every word. Her aura was particularly oppressive.

    Goodness, she had completely bristled.

Jiang Youwan moved her lips, wanting to speak but stopping herself.

What was the use in saying anything?

Jiang Jinyi ground her back teeth. Jiang Youwan’s silence made her feel as if her status and authority had suffered a violent attack.

“Bastard, are you provoking me? I just warned you yesterday not to touch my things.”

When an omega or alpha became angry, they would subconsciously release pheromones2 to express their rage. Unlike ordinary pheromones, angry pheromones were used to oppress an opponent.

The normally sweet fragrance of hyacinth became particularly vicious. Rich and surging, it pervasively bore down on Jiang Youwan. It was an indescribable sensation; her nape throbbed with a swelling pain. She was already feeling unwell, but now, her brows furrowed tightly as she struggled to catch her breath. “I wasn’t provoking you,” she said softly.

“You are provoking me!” Jiang Jinyi narrowed her eyes. “Do you think I’m easy to bully? Or do you think I’m just bluffing, that I wouldn’t actually dare to kick you out?”

Jiang Youwan stayed silent for a moment. Helplessly, she yielded, showing weakness to her. “I didn’t do it on purpose. I’m sorry.”

“Sorry?” Jiang Jinyi gnashed her teeth. “Sorry is completely useless!”

Jiang Youwan was quiet for a while. “Then what will it take for you to calm down?”

Jiang Jinyi followed Jiang Youwan’s line of questioning and began to think. What would it take for her to calm down?

Make her pack her bags and leave right now?

If she kicked her out, Secretary Song would definitely book a hotel for her. Once she moved into the hotel, she’d be able to enjoy life comfortably. She wouldn’t be paying any price at all for breaking the vase.

Jiang Jinyi couldn’t swallow her anger. She couldn’t kick her out. She had to teach her a lesson!

After a long moment, the corners of her mouth curled into a sly arc, and she asked, “Will you accept it, no matter how I bully you?”

Jiang Youwan’s eyelashes fluttered. Softly, she gave an “Mm” of agreement.
