The Amnesiac Omega Who Reels Me In Every Day – Chapter 17

A Tsundere’s Way of Apologizing
Jiang Jinyi had finally made amends for blindly pinning the blame on Jiang Youwan without an investigation.
Aunt Cai was fired immediately. Not only was she dismissed, but Jiang Jinyi also made her pay for the vase.
Normally, Jiang Jinyi wouldn’t have cared about a vase worth hundreds of thousands, but the crucial point was that Wen Ye had designed it. There was hardly a second one like it in the world.
Along with her anger, Jiang Jinyi felt a faint prickle of guilt.
When Jiang Youwan had said, “I feel a bit wronged,” Jiang Jinyi felt as though someone were squeezing her heartβit was deeply uncomfortable.
Of course, getting her to apologize was absolutely out of the question. The words “I’m sorry” simply did not exist in the vocabulary of the proud young mistress.
At most, she would call over her private doctor to examine the wounds of a certain falsely accused person.
Before long, a car pulled into the courtyard. The private doctor, wearing a white coat, stepped out with a medical kit and walked into the villa. Just as she entered the living room, she ran into Song Lian, who was sitting on the sofa.
Song Lian’s long hair was slightly wavy, framing a mature and steady presence. Her eyes were sharp, and standing at 173 centimeters tall, she possessed a powerful aura.
She was the classic female Alpha who would make any Omega’s knees go weak.
Song Lian offered a faint, professional smile and greeted her, “Dr. Li.”
Dr. Li’s smile deepened. “Is Secretary Song here to coax Miss again?”
“Just handling some matters,” Song Lian said, her gaze turning inquisitive. “Dr. Li, you areβ¦?”
A nearby servant chimed in to answer, “Under Miss’s instructions, Dr. Li is here to change that lady’s dressings.”
Understanding dawned on Song Lian. Somewhat surprised, she let a gentle smile curve her eyes and said, “As it happens, I’ll go with Dr. Li to have a look.”
Dr. Li nodded. “Very well.”
Jiang Youwan had been sitting quietly by the window, her face turned toward the outside. Rather than looking, she seemed to be sensing something, the gentle moonlight bathing her in a faint, silvery halo.
The drawings on her face had been washed off, and the collar had been removed.
She was very slender, with delicate features and skin of ice and bones of jade1. Because of her blindness, her eyes remained closed, yet this detracted nothing from her appearance; instead, it lent her an otherworldly, ethereal air.
Even before the door to her room opened, Jiang Youwan sensed the movement. Her body instinctively went into a defensive postureβa habit she had developed after losing her sight.
Standing at the doorway, Song Lian discreetly scrutinized her with deep, searching eyes. “Hello,” she said.
An unfamiliar pheromone was mixed with the faint scent of disinfectant. Sensing that there was more than one person, Jiang Youwan became even more guarded.
Song Lian said in a gentle tone, “I am Chairman Jiang’s secretary, and beside me is Miss’s private doctor.”
A private doctor.
Jiang Youwan’s brow knit with a cold intensity, her resistance plain to see.
Dr. Li gave a warm smile, her tone equally gentle as she tried her best to put the patient at ease. “Hello, I am Miss’s private doctor. Miss mentioned you have some injuries and sent me to treat them. Starting today, I will come every evening to change your dressings and help your wounds heal. May we begin now?”
The doctor was a Beta. Lacking pheromones, she naturally carried no air of aggression, but she carried a strong smell of disinfectant.
Dr. Li was quick to pick up on Jiang Youwan’s reluctance.
Dr. Li had seen many patients in her career. Someone like Jiang Youwan, covered in wounds, had likely suffered abuse. Such patients often had some psychological scars, experiencing fear and timidity, and it usually took some effort to win their trust.
She was about to offer some gentle guidance to win her trust when, to her surprise, the woman in front of her suddenly stood up from the chair. As if yielding, Jiang Youwan sat on the edge of the bed and began to undo her buttons.
“Thank you.”
Though her voice was barely a murmur, it was clear enough for both of them to hear.
Both Dr. Li and Song Lian were slightly taken aback, but this was for the best, saving them the effort of persuasion.
Carrying her medical kit, Dr. Li walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. As Jiang Youwan unbuttoned her collar, her fair shoulders were revealed, along with the gland at the back of her neck.
The surrounding area should have been smooth and flawless, but now a deep wound marred the skin, raw, split open, and angry red.
Coupled with her face, she exuded the poignant air of a ravaged beauty.
Dr. Li was struck by her exquisite beauty and, naturally, felt a pang of sympathy for her injuries. She softened her movements, making them lighter and slower, terrified of causing her any pain.
Yet the gentler the doctor became, the more Jiang Youwan wanted to escape.
The gland was an extremely fragile and sensitive organ. She detested exposing it to anyone, and loathed the touch of others even moreβespecially when that person was a doctor.
She hated hospitals, and she detested the smell of disinfectant on doctors even more. Whenever it drifted near, the scent dragged her right back into that living nightmare.
She only wanted this to end quickly.
Dr. Li could feel her body tensing. “Just relax, you’re doing fine,” she comforted, her hands growing even gentler as she treated the wound.
Jiang Youwan’s knuckles turned white. “Please, hurry,” she said quietly. Her voice was incredibly soft, yet it carried an undercurrent of resolve and steel.
Dr. Li paused, unable to help asking, “Do you have a strong aversion to doctors?”
Jiang Youwan did not answer. Instead, she simply repeated, “Please, hurry.” Devoid of emotion, leaving no room for refusal.
Dr. Li opened her mouth but stopped herself, choosing instead to speed up her movements.
“This might hurt a little. Bear with me.”
Jiang Youwan was not afraid of pain.
While Dr. Li applied the medicine, Song Lian remained in the room, watching from the side. She was so quiet she might as well have been invisible. Dr. Li, being a Beta who could not smell pheromones, had practically forgotten her presence, but Jiang Youwan stayed on high alert every second.
Song Lian’s face remained entirely expressionless, her eyes fixed on Jiang Youwan like a surveillance camera, untilβ
Dr. Li pulled up the clothes on Jiang Youwan’s back as she slowly wrapped the bandages. This exposed her wound to the air, along with a red birthmark on her shoulder blade.
Song Lian’s gaze suddenly sharpened. Her eyes flashed with astonishment, but she quickly suppressed it, quietly pondering to herself.
With the dressings quickly changed, Dr. Li and Secretary Song left the room together.
Originally, Jiang Youwan had intended to refuse any treatment. But the moment she remembered that the doctor had been sent by that young mistressβ¦
When she thought of this as the young mistress’s unique way of apologizing, she found it rather amusing; she shouldn’t refuse.
And she could not refuse.
Returning to the present day.
After crying her eyes out the night before, it was nearly noon the next day when Jiang Jinyi finally opened her swollen eyes.
When she opened them, however, everything was pitch black and she couldn’t see a thing. She could only feel herself nestled in a soft, tender embrace.
With every breath, she was met with the rich fragrance of Datura.
Pheromones that belonged uniquely to Jiang Youwan.
Letting out a soft whimper, she scooted back slightly, only then catching sight of a vast, snowy-white expanse. It turned out she had been burying her face in that soft cleavage the entire time.
Last night, she had cried herself to sleep right in Jiang Youwan’s arms. Fortunately, it was Jiang Youwan; otherwise, this would have been mortifying.
Even though she had buried herself there more than once, Jiang Jinyi still felt a bit self-conscious.
“Why are you awake so soon? You cried for so long before falling asleep last night,” Jiang Youwan’s voice drifted down from aboveβgentle, slightly raspy, and thick with a lazy warmth. “Be good, sleep a little longer.”
With those words, she pressed Jiang Jinyi’s head right back down.
