    Good Baby

Making you into the one and only

“You reek of alcohol.” Fu Yunqing agreed to be her Master, helped up the person kneeling before her—who knew if her legs had gone numb—and said with feigned distaste, “Puppy, go clean yourself up, quick.”

Yu Yan as a puppy was indeed more obedient than usual—no whining, no acting up, impressive execution. She immediately got up and ran upstairs to take a bath.

Though she told Yu Yan to clean herself up, in reality Fu Yunqing didn’t trust her drunk wife at all—who knew if she could even manage a bath—so she had her sit in the tub and personally wiped her down with a wet towel.

After wiping her down, she helped her to bed. By now, after all the fuss, she was so dizzy she had barely any consciousness left to hold on with, and quickly fell asleep hugging her pillow. Fu Yunqing sat by the bed watching her, her feelings somewhat complicated.

She got up and walked to a certain cabinet, pulled open the lower drawers, and various items too embarrassing to name came into view. These were things she had found while organizing the room after the divorce, tucked away in Yu Yan’s miscellaneous cabinet. They had been hidden very carefully, as if deliberately concealed so she wouldn’t discover them.

When she first discovered them, Fu Yunqing was very surprised. She had no idea why Yu Yan would buy these things, and only understood their purpose after searching online, finding it somewhat hard to believe.

How could Yanyan have those kinds of tendencies? How had she never noticed?

Fu Yunqing thought a lot—she even wondered whether Yanyan had insisted on divorcing her because she had been led astray by that woman, brainwashed, becoming obsessed with these things?

The images she found online were hard to accept. Imagining Yu Yan as the one being disciplined made her even more anxious and heartsore. She agonized all night, wanting to message her on WeChat, only to discover she had been blocked.

She had no choice but to comfort herself that perhaps it wasn’t like that.

She pushed the matter to the back of her heart, and it wasn’t until tonight that she confirmed—Yanyan really did have those tendencies.

Why? Why had she started wanting to play like this?

Fu Yunqing still felt uneasy. She recalled their past interactions—how when she was very angry at Yu Yan for misbehaving, she would use a belt to spank her palms and bottom. She never hit hard; it was just a deterrent, like other mothers disciplining their children.

Was it because of this that Yanyan had…?

Fu Yunqing blamed herself somewhat. Unable to put her mind at ease and unable to sleep, she searched for a lot of information online and asked a counselor for their opinion. Only after understanding more deeply did she feel somewhat reassured.

Such tendencies might be innate or acquired. Perhaps it really was because she had spanked her bottom that Yanyan had developed these desires. There was no need to view these desires as a terrifying beast—what mattered was mutual respect, communication, trust, and patient, gradual progression.

If Yanyan liked it, and if the person controlling her was herself—Fu Yunqing knew she could never hurt her, so what was wrong with it?

She seemed to feel a little anticipation herself.

Looking forward to what Yu Yan had said—everything about her would belong to her.

    Time returned to the present.

Yu Yan knelt obediently before her. Fu Yunqing’s gaze analyzed her—with surprise, with delight, and with a hint of excitement she hadn’t quite processed.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Fu Yunqing asked deliberately.

Blackout1? Last night wasn’t it you who begged me to be your Master? Should I play that video for you to watch again?”

“No need!” Yu Yan flushed with shame, and she quickly said, “I remember everything. I understand… I’ll be obedient.”

“Mm. Go eat breakfast now. Later I’ll take you out somewhere.”

“Go… go where?” Her Master looked like she hadn’t fully trusted her—was she taking her somewhere to test her loyalty?

But Fu Yunqing said, “Taking you to see a doctor.”

    See a doctor?

Yu Yan immediately understood she must mean a psychiatrist. Given the situation, she instantly and anxiously wondered whether Fu Yunqing thought she was psychologically abnormal—pretending to agree to be her Master to deal with her, while still planning to take her for treatment?

Yu Yan frowned, feeling a little angry, and almost stood up. “Why do I need to go to the hospital?”

Knowing she had misunderstood, Fu Yunqing sighed, rubbed her head to soothe her, and said gently, “Taking you for a follow-up appointment.”

“This has nothing to do with that. I don’t think having these tendencies is an illness.”

“I decided to take you to see a doctor the night we met in Weicheng. Even though you seem very normal and lively now, I can’t let my guard down, can I? I need to be responsible for you.”

Yu Yan came back to her senses and realized she was talking about her depression. Her defiance instantly deflated, and she buried her head lower.

Her defiance was gone, but Fu Yunqing could tell she was still somewhat reluctant. She raised a hand to cup her cheek, making her look up, and stared earnestly into her eyes. “Forgotten what you promised me again? Do you think you’re really being obedient?”

Yu Yan knew she meant that she had actually dared to snap at her. Her long eyelashes trembled violently under her palm as she said guiltily, “No…”

    “No?”

“You say all these things and then turn around and don’t follow through. Being so naughty—shouldn’t you be properly taught a lesson?”

Yu Yan tried to wriggle out of it. “Nooo”

“What I want is an obedient, healthy puppy.” Fu Yunqing adopted a skeptical look and tone. “Which of those have you achieved?”

    Yu Yan froze.

    An obedient, healthy puppy…

Yu Yan was not obedient—she had just almost talked back to her. Yu Yan didn’t seem very healthy either—she didn’t even dare to go to the hospital.

Yu Yan was so unqualified—she wasn’t what Fu Yunqing wanted. Was Fu Yunqing going to abandon her? Yu Yan’s nose stung, and she actually felt a real sense of crisis, watching her anxiously.

“But I won’t give up on you.”

Fu Yunqing suddenly told her with such certainty: “I should help you, train2 you, make you into my one-of-a-kind, most perfect puppy.”

Yu Yan’s heart skipped a beat.

She couldn’t help but squeeze her legs together.

    Oh my god…

“So you’ll hand everything over to me, follow my pace, and trust me and rely on me without reservation, right?” Fu Yunqing guided her gently.

Yu Yan’s eyelashes fluttered downward. “Mm…”

She was certain that Fu-jiejie had definitely done a lot of homework last night.

She truly lived up to being a teacher—she had completely grasped the key concepts and applied them effortlessly. Educating students every day, training a mere dog was easy enough for her, wasn’t it?

    Yu Yan was so excited.

“So why exactly won’t you go see a doctor?”

No sooner had the excitement hit than she was asked precisely about the secret hidden in her heart that she didn’t want to speak of.

    Fu Yunqing was so sly.

But what could she do? Before her Master, she had to strip away all shame. Letting her Master understand everything about her was the true beginning of a relationship.

Fu Yunqing was being serious now. She couldn’t bluff her Master.

“Because I don’t even know if I’m truly recovered. I feel a little guilty, afraid that seeing a doctor will mean taking medication again. Taking medication is uncomfortable, and it makes you gain weight.” She hadn’t wanted to admit it before because it felt too embarrassing and shameful—she had her pride too.

Fu Yunqing released her face and fell silent.

Yu Yan panicked, wondering if she was angry.

“That time you fainted from low blood sugar—was it because you were losing weight?”

    “…”

Yu Yan looked at her in surprise.

Fu Yunqing had actually guessed it.

But in that moment, what she felt wasn’t embarrassment—it was a sense of security.

The security of being so easily seen through by her, so easily controlled by her—as if she would always be behind her, wanting to merge into one with her.

    She was the Master…

She stared, dazed. Fu Yunqing prompted softly, “Speak.”

“I…” Yu Yan came back to herself and confessed everything: “Because I had the thought of coming back to find you, I was always afraid that if I was too heavy, you wouldn’t want me anymore.”

“At your heaviest, how many jin3 were you?”

    “Over 130 jin.”

“When you first came back to me you were only a little over 100 jin, eating one meal a day? If there hadn’t been an accident, how much were you planning to lose down to?” Because of her self-destructive behavior, Fu Yunqing couldn’t help but grow a bit sterner.

Yu Yan hadn’t thought about this question. Her eyes dimmed. “I don’t know…”

Fu Yunqing sighed and patted her own thigh. “Come up.”

Yu Yan blinked, a beat slow, then climbed up and sat on Fu Yunqing’s lap, curling into her embrace as the woman’s arms tightened around her. She didn’t know why, but with the things in her heart finally spoken aloud, the grievances spilling out, and the contrast between just kneeling at her feet and now being held tightly in her arms—she actually felt a little like crying.

“You’ve already returned to your original weight, but you still feel you’re too fat, right?”

    “Right…”

“It might be a manifestation of anxiety.”

Fu Yunqing asked her softly, “Baby, are you willing to go see a doctor with me?”

She couldn’t refuse at all. Yu Yan gave a low “Mm,” thoroughly submissive.

    “Good Baby.”
