    Yunyuju

    When will you remarry?

Fu Yunqing immediately responded to her yearning: 【I miss you too】

Fu Yunqing: 【How about I come back at noon to keep you company?】

    Yu Yan: 【whimper.jpg】

    Fu Yunqing: 【patpat.jpg】

    Yu Yan: 【I don’t want headpats】

    Fu Yunqing: 【Hugs, then】

    Yu Yan: 【No】【frown.jpg】

Fu Yunqing: 【You just said you wanted me to hug you】

    Yu Yan: 【I want a real hug】

Fu Yunqing: 【Just wait a little longer, alright?】

    Yu Yan: 【No】

Fu Yunqing had absolutely no way of dealing with her and was just about to compromise when Yu Yan messaged: 【I’m coming to find you】【hands-on-hips.jpg】

If she really wanted to see someone, Yu Yan couldn’t wait.

Ever since she was young, she had always been a woman with incredible follow-through when it came to chasing after women. She immediately decided not to laze around in bed today. After messaging Dan Lin to come pick her up, she got up to wash up, ate breakfast, used mouthwash once more, and had Dan Lin drive her to find Fu Yunqing.

Yu Yan had known for a long time that Fu Yunqing owned an antique shop in Yuncheng, though she had never been there to check it out before.

Long ago, she had heard from Yu Lan that Fu Yunqing didn’t just run an antique business; she had many businesses under her name. Dan Lin mentioned that the antique shop was where Fu Yunqing usually went to discuss business.

Yu Lan had also mentioned that in addition to her own businesses, Fu Yunqing held quite a few shares in the Fu Corporation.

Just how much was she worth, then? Yu Yan was dying of curiosity. If she stayed with her, there was no doubt Fu Yunqing could guarantee her a lifetime of luxury and absolute comfort.

This was a future well worth dreaming about, yet as Yu Yan’s thoughts drifted, she found herself thinking of Yu Lan again.

Her bright mood immediately dimmed. Yu Yan pursed her lips. After a moment’s hesitation, she couldn’t resist pulling out her phone to check the WeChat messages she had sent her.

    There was still no response.

In the past, when she messaged her, she’d at least reply with a line or two every ten days or half a month.

It wasn’t as if she were demanding she come back and take her away; she just wanted to know how she was doing, and if she was alright.

Most of the time, Yu Yan didn’t know whether she should blame her, resent her, or worry about her. No matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t make sense of it.

But saying she wasn’t hurt would definitely be a lie, and saying she wasn’t worried would be a lie too.

After all, she was her biological mother, and she was the one who had raised her. More often than not, Yu Yan still worried whether she was currently displaced and living in hiding.

She actually really wanted to ask Fu Yunqing about it, and had even wondered if she could get Fu Yunqing’s help. But as soon as she remembered the feud between Yu Lan and Fu Yunqing’s family, she instantly dismissed the thought.

No matter what, to their family, Yu Lan was probably just getting what she deserved.

When it came down to it… when it came down to it, to the Fu family, Yu Yan was also the daughter of their enemy.

    Pah, pah, pah.

Yu Yan quickly stopped herself. How could she think that? If Fu Yunqing knew she was having these thoughts again, she would definitely be heartbroken.

Neither Fu Yunqing nor Grandmother had ever blamed her—Yu Yan knew that perfectly well.

    She knew, and yet…

But every time she thought about it, she still felt uncomfortable deep down.

To avoid ruining her good mood before seeing her jiejie, Yu Yan quickly shook her head, turning her thoughts to fun and happy things. As she was letting her mind wander, Dan Lin reminded her that they had arrived. Fu Yunqing’s shop wasn’t far, located in a small courtyard near Jing’an Temple.

White walls, grey tiles, and a wooden gate—simple yet vintage. Looking up, a plaque bore three large characters written in a highly distinctive, highly stylized semi-cursive script1: “Yunyuju.”

Yunyuju… Yunyuju, Yu Yan repeated the name in her mind. Then, it suddenly clicked—wasn’t that a homophonic play on “Yùn” and her own surname, “Yù”? Instantly, a powerful sense of destiny washed over her. Hadn’t this shop been open for a really long time? Fu Yunqing must have had prophetic foresight when she named it.

This was nothing short of fate—a connection that could only be cultivated through past and present lifetimes.

A woman in a black suit with her hair in a bun pushed open the door. Seeing Yu Yan step out of the car, she immediately walked over and greeted her with a warm smile, “Little Miss Yu, hello.”

Yu Yan found her somewhat familiar, as if she’d seen her somewhere before but couldn’t place her name. Sensing her situation, the woman introduced herself: “I’m Yun-jie’s assistant. My surname is Liang. You can just call me Assistant Liang.”

    Assistant Liang.

    Yu Yan remembered now.

Her Weibo diary had mentioned Assistant Liang; when she’d gone to see Fu Yunqing before, she was the one driving.

Yu Yan looked at her. “Hello, Assistant Liang~”

Little Miss Yu was as sweet as ever. Assistant Liang was genuinely delighted and led the way with a bright smile. “Yun-jie is inside. Come, please follow me.”

Once inside, there was a huge courtyard with a large, connected pond. Beside the pond were exquisite rockeries planted with all kinds of greenery, with koi darting back and forth in the water.

Walking along the dark brown wooden floor and looking up, a towering tree loomed over the main house, giving it the serene feeling of being deep in a forest. Everything here was exceptionally elegant.

Crossing a wooden bridge into the main hall, the scents of tea and sandalwood blended in the air. The hall was spacious, its shelves lined with all kinds of porcelain and jade, while the walls were hung with calligraphy and paintings. The items were numerous and exquisite, every single one of them incredibly valuable.

Assistant Liang said, “You can sit here and look around for a bit. Yun-jie is still meeting with a guest in the reception room, but they’re almost done.”

Yu Yan nodded and looked around curiously. Seeing that she was curious about all these jars and pots, Assistant Liang stayed by her side to introduce them to her.

But Yu Yan wasn’t particularly interested in the history or culture of these antiques; she was only curious about how much they were worth. The moment Assistant Liang mentioned the prices, Yu Yan’s eyes lit up. Dazzled by the wealth, she felt herself grow just a little more devoted to Fu Yunqing.

    “Is everything here Fu-jiejie’s?”

“Some of it is Yun-jie’s private collection, but there are also many pieces on consignment from clients here.”

    “Oh…” She nodded.

That still meant she was incredibly wealthy.

Having looked her fill at the jars and pots, Yu Yan wanted to go back out to watch the koi. After watching them for a bit, she sat on a wooden chair in the courtyard to wait. As she was idly playing with her phone, a sudden pop-up message made her freeze, her heart skipping a beat.

    — Director An.

Director An had sent her a file.

Director An: 【Chen Xinglu’s script is finished. We spent some time making some edits based on your own personality traits, so take a look. If there are no issues, we can meet up to discuss your pay and sign the contract.】

    Yu Yan was completely stunned.

Actually, she and Director An hadn’t been in touch for a while.

The last time she was dragged away by Fu Yunqing from Director An’s gathering, Director An had sent her a few WeChat messages the next day to ask if she needed help. She had naturally said she didn’t, and after that, things had naturally cooled down between them.

They were adults, after all. Some things didn’t need to be said out loud; everyone just understood. She’d assumed the acting gig was over and done with. Since they’d been distant for so long, why would An Qiu suddenly…

Yu Yan didn’t know how to reply for a moment. Soon, another message from An Qiu popped up: 【You promised me before that you’d act in it. You can’t go back on your word.】

    She was doomed.

Yu Yan curled her fingers and anxiously gnawed on the back of her hand, her brow furrowed in distress.

Heavens, she’d been way too reckless.

She really had promised her. That was just the kind of person Yu Yan was—when it came to seducing women, she’d do whatever it took, throwing all caution to the wind.

What should she do now? Was she really going to act? Actually, acting wasn’t completely out of the question; she’d already prepared herself for it back when she was trying to seduce Teacher An. For Yu Yan, acting would be a fresh new experience anyway, but…

She’d have to go deep into the mountains, stay with Teacher An, and leave Fu Yunqing behind—one look at that scenario and she knew Fu-jiejie would never allow it. She’d definitely be furious. If she heard such an absurd request to run off to the wilderness with someone she’d flirted with, she might not be able to resist taking a whip to her.

Yu Yan knew she had to apologize properly to Teacher An and reject her outright.

But rejecting women was the thing Yu Yan was worst at. She spent ages typing and deleting, completely unsure of how to word it.

    “Yanyan.”

Yu Yan was startled. Looking up, she saw Fu Yunqing standing not far away, though she hadn’t noticed when she’d arrived. Yu Yan quickly locked her screen to hide it and stood up. “Fu-jiejie.”

Fu Yunqing glanced at her rushing to hide her phone, her expression remaining unreadable. “Who were you chatting with just now? You were so engrossed.”

“No one, just Lu Yu. She was telling me some gossip, so I was completely absorbed in reading it.” Yu Yan let out a nervous chuckle. Noticing a beautiful woman with long, curly hair and a leather jacket standing behind Fu Yunqing, she quickly changed the subject and asked, “Who is this jiejie?”

“Hmm?” The woman’s makeup was striking, her bright red lipstick perfectly complementing her elegant vibe. Standing with her arms crossed, she looked effortlessly relaxed and lazy, yet there was a sharp, slightly aggressive edge to her eyes.

She asked teasingly, “Don’t remember me?”

Oh my god, she’s so cool, so stylish, such a total jie2, and so captivating.

She looked so familiar. She’d definitely seen her somewhere before, but Yu Yan couldn’t quite recall, so she cast a pleading look at Fu Yunqing for help.

Fu Yunqing was incredibly protective of her, never letting her feel embarrassed by another woman’s teasing. She told her, “She attended our wedding before. This is Xu Man. Do you remember? She was the one who caught my bouquet.”

    Oh—she remembered now.

Instantly, Yu Yan’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled warmly. “Hello, Xu Man-jiejie~”

Sweetened by her, Xu Man couldn’t help but sigh in the exact same way she had three years ago, “Yunqing, your meimei really is so sweet.”

“We haven’t seen each other in three years, but your meimei doesn’t seem to have changed at all. She’s still so youthful and full of life.”

She really hadn’t changed—she literally was the Yu Yan from three years ago, Yu Yan thought to herself.

“No wonder Yunqing has been thinking about you and couldn’t forget you. Who’d have the heart to lose a meimei like this?” Chatting and laughing, she reached into her bag, pulled out a translucent pink wedding invitation, and handed it to Yu Yan.

Yu Yan took it and looked down; the names of Xu Man and her partner were written on it. She looked up, deeply surprised. “Xu Man-jiejie, you’re actually getting married?!”

Such a gorgeous woman, yet they were only meeting for the second time and she was already getting married. For some reason, she felt it was a bit of a pity.

“Yep,” Xu Man said. “And I have your blessing back then to thank for it.”

“Do you remember? When we were in Ireland for your wedding, Yunqing gave her bridal bouquet to me, and you wished me success with my confession.” Xu Man narrowed her eyes slightly, continuing in a soft voice, “Though the confession didn’t actually succeed at first, and we went through quite a few setbacks, tangling with each other and making a dramatic, exhausting mess of it… fortunately, the outcome was good. We finally got together last spring, got engaged a few months ago, and we’re holding our wedding in Norway next spring. You and Yunqing absolutely must come. After all, you’re the key reasons I finally achieved my happy ending.”

Going back and forth, making a dramatic, exhausting mess of it? A topic that seemed to involve intense lesbian angst was incredibly intriguing, but Yu Yan suppressed the urge to pry. She obediently offered her blessings: “Once the bitterness ends, it’s nothing but sweetness from here on out! Early congratulations to Xu Man-jiejie and your wife on a harmonious union of a hundred years. May you two always be deeply in love, your hearts forever joined in union~”

“Alright,” Xu Man said, glancing at Fu Yunqing with a smile. “What about you and Yunqing? I heard from her that you two have been back together for a while now. When do you plan to remarry?”

The author has something to say:

    When will they remarry?
