On the Wedding Night, I Transmigrated to After the Divorce – Chapter 79

Easily Coaxed and Deceived by Her
For the next few days, Fu Yunqing stayed at home. She never went out alone, unless she was with Yu Yan.
At first, Yu Yan thought she was working entirely from home because the end of the semester was near and there were no more in-person classes. But on this day, when she woke up from an afternoon nap and found the space beside her empty, she wandered groggily to the study to look for her, only to discover that she was teaching an online class.
Yu Yan stood blankly by the doorframe. Fu Yunqing was lecturing in a gentle tone. Hearing the movement, she glanced at her calmly, then slipped her hand beneath the desk—out of the computer camera’s field of view—and hooked her finger, gesturing for her to come over.
Yu Yan carefully avoided the camera as she walked over. Fu Yunqing took her hand, holding it as Yu Yan stood beside her, still a bit dazed.
Meanwhile, Teacher Fu finished lecturing on the final section with complete composure, looking entirely focused. Once she dismissed the class, she turned off the webcam and meticulously muted the microphone as well.
All at once, their private time was restored.
Fu Yunqing stood up. Yu Yan widened her eyes and asked in a raspy voice, “Why are you teaching online classes from home?”
“Mm… to make it easier for the students to study for finals, the school requested that we move classes online,” Fu Yunqing explained, her voice much gentler than it had been during the lecture.
“Isn’t it nice? This way, I can stay home and keep you company all the time.”
Of course it was nice. Yu Yan was just a little surprised. As expected, the better the school, the more accommodating its policies were. She’d never received this kind of treatment when finals were around the corner back in her university days.
“Are you awake yet? Why do you still look so dazed?”
Yu Yan’s eyes were a bit red from being rubbed, and she still looked half-asleep. They’d stayed up late playing around last night, and Honey had woken her up early this morning. Surprisingly, she’d chosen to stay awake to play with the cat instead of going back to sleep. It was only after lunch when she couldn’t fight off the exhaustion anymore that she collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep. But even with all that, she’d only managed to squeeze in less than an hour’s nap.
“Of course I’m awake. Am I supposed to be sleepwalking?” Yu Yan muttered.
Fu Yunqing chuckled, leaning down to kiss her, and whispered, “You can still argue, so it seems you really are awake.”
“I thought Honey went to bother you again. If you shut her out, she scratches at the door.”
Yu Yan grumbled softly, “It’s because I couldn’t find you.”
Fu Yunqing had clearly promised to sleep with her, so why had she disappeared halfway through?
“I’m sorry,” Fu Yunqing apologized with a smile. “I broke my word.”
But she didn’t seem particularly remorseful.
Of course, she didn’t need to feel remorse anyway; it was just one of her ways of coaxing her. Yu Yan had discovered that the older woman was actually quite skilled at feigning compliance.
As they stood before the desk, Fu Yunqing wrapped her arms around Yu Yan’s waist and leaned down to nuzzle her forehead. Yu Yan tilted her head up slightly, saying nothing. But in Fu Yunqing’s eyes, this movement was just like a kitten padding over to rub against a pant leg—a clear, unspoken demand for a kiss.
So she very naturally cupped her chin and leaned in to kiss her.
But it was only a brief kiss. The usually clingy kitten soon slipped away. Yu Yan broke free from the arms wrapped around her waist and threw back a line before fleeing: “Focus on your class.”
After all, once they started kissing, it was too easy to lose control and end up rolling around in the sheets. A ten-minute break was nowhere near enough. If she ended up delaying the professor’s class, she’d truly be guilty of a terrible crime.
Yu Yan walked over to the bar and poured herself a glass of water. She tilted her head back and took a sip, but as certain associations flashed through her mind, her face burned. She quickly gulped down the rest of the water—glug, glug—trying to swallow those strange sensations.
Setting the empty glass on the counter, Yu Yan walked back to the bedroom. A Christmas Tree taller than a person stood quietly by the window. Bathed in the sunlight, it shimmered with a bling-bling sparkle, looking even more beautiful and atmospheric than it did at night.
Draped all over it were numerous luxury gifts: diamond earrings, pearl pendants, a Kashmir sapphire necklace, a Graff ruby pendant, as well as wristwatches, bracelets, rings, and various other dazzling trinkets that could easily make Yu Yan lose her head. It was the surprise Fu Yunqing had prepared for her yesterday when they returned home from their outing.
Though Yu Yan had lived through her own days of glory, she’d never seen a Christmas tree worth tens of millions of RMB before.
Incredibly wealthy, meticulous, gentle, and considerate… Fu Yunqing’s virtues were so numerous that Yu Yan couldn’t finish listing them even if she spent a whole night trying.
Aside from that… Yu Yan finally understood why people in relationships didn’t reply to holiday greeting messages on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. It wasn’t that they saw the messages and ignored them; it was simply that they couldn’t get their hands on their phones at all.
They were completely and utterly…
Sensual scenes drifted back into her mind, recalling how hazy and wild her consciousness had been—the tangled, rolling bodies of two women, clinging together and kissing with absolute abandon. Fu Yunqing had done so much to her, kissing every inch of her body, touching her lips to places Yu Yan had never even imagined.
And her own head had been pressed down into that slick, damp hollow, held tight between those thighs. In that tight, wet space, every breath she drew was filled with her sea, her scent…
At the thought, Yu Yan’s heart hammered as her face heated up. She turned her head to look toward the door. Fu Yunqing hadn’t followed her, which meant she’d probably resumed her lecture.
Teacher Fu was still highly professional.
The professional Teacher Fu possessed such a striking duality.
But that side of Teacher Fu—the one with such a striking contrast—was something only she, out of the entire world, had ever seen.
Yu Yan rubbed her cheeks and collapsed onto the bed, trying to calm herself down.
The life she was living now was very sweet, but beneath that sweetness lay a subtle, indescribable distress.
After their argument that day, Fu Yunqing had become even gentler than usual. Yu Yan had suffered from insomnia that night and slept until almost the next afternoon. When she woke, Fu Yunqing was still lying beside her—not looking at her phone or reading a book, but simply staring at her quietly.
Seeing her stir, she’d spoken to her in a completely normal tone, full of indulgence and gentle positivity, as if nothing unpleasant had ever occurred between them.
Naturally, Yu Yan didn’t want to bring up those unhappy matters again either. She naturally fell into the older woman’s rhythm, clinging to her as if nothing had happened and continuing their life together.
There was nothing wrong with this. As long as she didn’t step into her forbidden zones, Fu-jiejie would still grant her the utmost tolerance and tenderness, making Yu Yan feel perfectly comfortable. Over these past few days, she’d been by her side almost every waking second, providing a constant stream of sweetness that seemed to gradually dissolve the lingering resistance hidden in Yu Yan’s heart.
Was that really the case?
If so, then what exactly was the distress she was feeling?
Precisely because Fu Yunqing was by her side almost constantly, Yu Yan had become exceptionally cautious. To avoid letting her see anything that might provoke her anger, she hadn’t chatted with anyone other than Lu Yu during these past few days. She hadn’t even opened her livestreaming apps in ages, knowing that the second she did, she’d be greeted by all kinds of beautiful women and direct messages filled with flirtatious, sometimes subtle and sometimes explicit texts.
The triggers that might anger Fu Yunqing were lurking in every shadow. Although she hadn’t gone live to pander to women1 in a very long time, Yu Yan still felt a guilty conscience.
She’d never been so constantly anxious, so strictly monitored, or so completely stripped of her freedom before.
Was this what being in a relationship was like? Well, it seemed so. Among the friends she used to know who were in relationships, which one of them didn’t pretend to be perfectly well-behaved in front of their wives?
Occasionally, Yu Yan felt a slight, stifling sense of being bound hand and foot, which she’d already chalked up as the karmic retribution one deserved for falling in love.
She lay on the bed, suddenly feeling incredibly bored.
But with Fu Yunqing teaching a class right now, she couldn’t keep her company—and she certainly wouldn’t suddenly appear by her side either. At this thought, she felt an irresistible itch. Wanting to scroll through some pretty girls and read her DMs to pass the time, she quietly opened Douyin.
She browsed through most of the interesting direct messages but didn’t reply to any. Suddenly, a chat window from an ID named “Don’t Bully the Rabbit, Okay?” bumped to the very top. She opened it on a whim.
She was somewhat surprised.
Was this… Xiao Jing?
Don’t Bully the Rabbit, Okay?: 【Didn’t you say you wanted to take the graduate entrance exam2 for Yuncheng Drama Academy? What area of study are you interested in? If it’s Design Studies, I know some professors who could mentor you.】
Yu Yan stared blankly for a long while before she even remembered that she was supposed to be preparing for graduate exams.
Something like taking graduate exams was obviously just nonsense she’d made up purely to placate Xiao Jing.
Yet Xiao Jing actually knew her Douyin, had even sent her gifts… and was now actually trying to help connect her with a professor?
Weren’t they supposed to be love rivals?
How could Xiao Jing be so nice? She was genuinely quite likable.
Yu Yan smiled, replying enthusiastically: 【Aren’t you in class right now?】
“The other party is typing…” flickered at the top of the chat window for a moment.
Don’t Bully the Rabbit, Okay?: 【Does being in class mean I have to pay attention?】
Still so full of attitude, but she made a very good point. She was definitely Xiao Jing.
Don’t Bully the Rabbit, Okay?: 【Which major do you want to test for?】
What major? This kind of question made her head spin. Yu Yan dodged it: 【I haven’t decided yet.】
Don’t Bully the Rabbit, Okay?: 【Wasn’t your undergraduate major oil painting?】
How did Xiao Jing even know what her undergraduate major was? Her focus on her love rival was surely a bit too excessive.
Yu Yan felt a secret sense of smug satisfaction, but she didn’t expose her, knowing the girl would surely bristle. Instead, she changed the subject: 【Has your school moved all classes online lately?】
Don’t Bully the Rabbit, Okay?: 【No. Only Teacher Fu’s classes are online.】
…What?
Only Teacher Fu’s classes were online?
The smile on the corner of Yu Yan’s lips flattened out. 【But Teacher Fu told me that to make it easier for you to review, the school transitioned all classes to online instruction. Isn’t that true?】
The other party was clearly taken aback: 【No.】
Xiao Jing: 【Every other teacher is holding class normally. Teacher Fu applied for online instruction herself.】
“…”
How could that be?
Didn’t Fu Yunqing say…
The more Yu Yan thought about it, the stranger it seemed. She didn’t dare draw a final conclusion based solely on one person’s word. Exiting the chat, she found the student group chat she’d joined back when she wanted to look up Fu Yunqing’s schedule. She sent a message asking, “Are you guys all taking online classes lately?”
After waiting a short while, several people replied with puzzled stickers.
Group Member xxx: 【What online classes?】
Group Member iii: 【We’re in the classroom.】
Group Member ooo: 【Which online class are you talking about?】
“…”
So there was no such thing.
Didn’t Fu Yunqing say it was a school-wide arrangement?
Why was she the only professor conducting classes online?
Fu Yunqing… was lying to her?
Why would Fu Yunqing lie to her?
Why would Fu Yunqing apply for online classes? She wasn’t out of town; she could perfectly well go to work in person.
Yu Yan stood up, her mind full of questions, intending to go to the study to ask her. But remembering she was still teaching, she turned back.
Sitting by the window, her mind was weighed down by heavy thoughts. As she looked back over the events of the past few days, a sudden, powerful intuition gripped her—she felt that Fu Yunqing was still keeping many other things from her.
She suddenly felt that she was just like a pet cat she kept at home—meticulously pen-raised3, strictly monitored, and almost entirely transparent under her gaze, yet knowing absolutely nothing of the woman herself, completely at her mercy to be coaxed and deceived.
