On the Wedding Night, I Transmigrated to After the Divorce – Chapter 6
by Little PandaI Just Want to Stay with Jiejie
Too proactive, too brazen
Fu Yunqing raised her hand and typed: 【Looks good】
Yu Yan replied instantly with a sticker: 【Hehe jpg.】
Yu Yan: 【What else?】
She wanted to hear more of Fu Yunqing’s praises.
How else would Fu Yunqing compliment her?
She pressed the issue. Fu Yunqing thought for a moment: 【Very pretty. You give off a very sweet feeling.】
Huh? Very sweet? Well, she was being very sweet—she was deliberately playing the good girl in front of Fu-jiejie. The corners of Yu Yan’s lips curled up: 【I’ll take some hot, sexy ones for Fu-jiejie right now.】
Yu Yan was extremely confident in her own looks. She had been aware of her beauty since childhood, having grown up surrounded by the praises of her female classmates. Her well-behaved, sweet look was already incredibly endearing; if she dialed up the sex appeal, captivating a woman would be a piece of cake.
Fu Yunqing stopped replying.
Crap. Too proactive, too brazen. I scared Fu-jiejie.
Cold violence1 was simply unbearable. Yu Yan picked a sticker of a hissing cat wagging its tail from her collection and sent it over.
Fu Yunqing seemed to sense her coercion and changed the subject: 【Have you slept since you got home?】
Yu Yan: 【I slept, but I still feel so sleepy~】
Fu Yunqing: 【Go to bed early tonight. Don’t stay up late anymore.】
Yu Yan: 【Okay~】
Yu Yan: 【Fu-jiejie too】
Fu Yunqing: 【En】
Yu Yan: 【Good night~】
Fu Yunqing: 【Good night】
Yu Yan stared at that ‘good night’ for a moment. She frantically scoured her sticker library and found one of a cat hugging another cat under the covers: 【Good night, Wife jpg.】
Calling her ‘Wife’ so openly and adding another dash of sweetness ended things perfectly. She didn’t care what Fu Yunqing would think when she saw it, or whether she would accept it or reply.
It felt completely different now. The anxiety from before they got their marriage certificate had truly been swept clean away. Why was that? Was it because Yu Yan had plenty of money to spend again? Drink today’s wine while today lasts, and let tomorrow worry about itself.2 Or was it because Yu Yan had gained a deeper understanding of Fu Yunqing’s temperament, realizing that Fu-jiejie was gentle, generous, and highly indulgent toward her? Even though they had gotten their certificate and married, there wouldn’t be any strict control or demands placed on her. Fu Yunqing wasn’t dangerous; she was exactly as she appeared at first glance, never once making Yu Yan feel uncomfortable.
To outsiders, Fu Yunqing claimed she was a younger sister of the family.
Fu Yunqing simply played the role of an older sister.
Yu Yan derived a very subtle sense of security from her.
She knew that even with Fu Yunqing added to her life, she could still live very happily.
The days passed by in this carefree, thoughtless manner. It was over a week later when she saw Fu Yunqing again.
Several months ago, during their very first meeting, Yu Yan and Fu Yunqing had already discussed where to hold the wedding. When Fu Yunqing asked for her opinion, Yu Yan had racked her brains until she remembered how much she wanted to see the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. She had blurted out “Ireland” without a second thought, completely ignoring how far away or how much of a hassle it would be.

To her surprise, Fu Yunqing hadn’t raised a single objection; she simply agreed. That had given the Yu Yan of back then a minor shock. Because her mother had emphasized countless times that she wasn’t to cause Fu Yunqing any trouble, she had assumed Fu Yunqing would have very little patience with her.
Now, with their visas and everything else in hand, the day of departure had arrived.
The Fu family owned a private jet. Yu Lan brought Yu Yan to the airport by car, with Yu Yan dozing in the backseat, so sleepy she could barely keep her eyes open. She had stayed up far too late last night.
Staying up late was a common ailment among young people, and Yu Yan also suffered from a touch of procrastination. She had messed around until the late hours before finally packing her luggage, getting scolded by Yu Lan the entire time.
She was still being scolded on the way to the airport. Yu Lan had dressed herself to look exquisite, aristocratic, and radiant, and she couldn’t stand Yu Yan’s lethargic, sleepy appearance. It was too casual; she was afraid the other party would find it impolite or think they weren’t taking the marriage seriously.
Yu Yan begged her, “If you want me to look energetic, then be quiet and let me sleep a little longer.”
Choked by her words, Yu Lan gave a cold snort and shut her mouth.
The car drove into the airport. A large private passenger jet sat parked in the center of the sprawling tarmac, poised and ready, its cabin door already open.
Fu Yunqing and several of her assistants were waiting nearby. Yu Yan, roused by Yu Lan, immediately spotted that graceful silhouette standing beside the imposing aircraft from afar, slightly mussed by the wind yet still perfectly poised.
Fu Yunqing’s makeup was immaculate, her dark hair cascading like a waterfall, her posture straight. A classic, dark green dress fluttered around her in the breeze. She stood with her arms crossed in the howling wind, eyes slightly narrowed—beautiful and unhurried.
A line of poetry inexplicably popped into Yu Yan’s mind:
A beauty to topple a city, to bring down a state,3
Neither a flower’s bloom, nor a mist’s fleeting weight.
So beautiful. Truly so beautiful.
She was going to enchant someone to death.
She was so enchanting that even Yu Yan’s morning grouchiness vanished completely.
As the car rolled to a stop, Fu Yunqing began walking toward them, raising a hand to sweep back the windblown hair from her forehead. Even in high heels, her strides were swift and steady, moving with brisk efficiency.
Stepping out of the car, Yu Lan swapped her expression for the sake of an audience, finally deigning to put on a smiling face.
Yu Yan’s groggy eyes also brightened and curved into crescents the moment she saw Fu Yunqing, her gaze fixing upon her face without a single blink. Following behind her mother, she walked toward her at a moderate pace. Originally, she had probably intended to politely and obediently offer a standard greeting, but Yu Yan realized that Fu Yunqing’s eyes had also been locked onto her this entire time. They gazed at each other.
Suddenly, Yu Yan wasn’t satisfied with just that.
Yu Lan put on a gentle facade and greeted her. “Yunqing.”
“Chairman Yu…”
The next second, Yu Yan, who had come up from behind, suddenly took a large stride forward and threw herself softly into Fu Yunqing’s arms. This was likely outside of Fu Yunqing’s expectations as well; she took a tiny step back, then immediately raised both hands to support Yu Yan’s waist, steadied herself, and looked down.
“Wu, Fu-jiejie…”
Yu Lan’s eyes flashed in astonishment.
Yu Yan didn’t say anything else, merely calling out to her softly, but she clung to her and refused to let go, her intentions unknown. Was it like missing someone dearly after a long time apart, or was this her version of a greeting? Like the hugs she shared with her besties when they met up. Fu Yunqing’s eyelashes fluttered. After letting herself be hugged, she gently pushed the girl out a little, only to immediately grasp her wrist. This way, their state of intimacy remained unchanged.
Fu Yunqing looked down at her and returned the greeting. “Yanyan.” Her voice was much softer than a moment ago.
Yanyan?
It seems this is the first time Fu Yunqing has called me by my pet name.
What was she to do? Yu Yan felt completely sweetened by her.
What was the point of holding wrists? Yu Yan shifted her arm, slipping her wrist out from Fu Yunqing’s slightly cool palm. In the brief instant Fu Yunqing lowered her gaze, her palm was filled once more.
Her hand had been naturally taken by Yu Yan.
“Oh my, has your relationship with your Fu-jiejie already gotten so good?” Yu Lan laughed in mock delight.
“How else would it be?” Yu Yan said brazenly, holding Fu Yunqing’s hand. “There’s a lot you don’t know about me and Fu-jiejie.”
Playing along, Fu Yunqing offered a faint curl of her lips.
Yu Lan chuckled along. “That’s just how her personality is. She’s quite clingy.” At this moment, Yu Lan actually felt that Yu Yan’s useless personality had some merit after all—it knew how to endear itself to people.
And Fu Yunqing didn’t look like she hated it.
“We can board now.”
“Granny still has matters to attend to. She said she’ll fly over herself in a couple of days,” Fu Yunqing added.
Yu Lan nodded. “She’s getting on in years. No matter how busy she is, she needs to take care of her health.”
“Of course. She values her health quite a bit; she gets a full-body checkup every three months,” Fu Yunqing said.
Yu Lan smiled. “Well, that’s something we certainly can’t compare to.”
The luggage was handed over to the assistants. As Yu Yan and Fu Yunqing walked together, Yu Yan craned her neck, curiously taking in the interior of the cabin. Unconsciously, just as she had during their last meeting, she rested her free hand on Fu Yunqing’s arm, looping through it.
Was this a little habit of hers? To hook her arm around the other person’s when walking side by side?
Flight attendants stood by the cabin door to welcome them. Passing the crew rest area and stepping into the main cabin, the first thing that greeted the eyes was a massive lounge. Luxuriously decorated, spacious, and bright, it resembled a spacious luxury flat4 in the sky—complete with sofas, coffee tables, a bar, and a dining area.
It was much larger than any private jet she had ever been on. Yu Yan couldn’t help but marvel. She turned her head toward Fu Yunqing. Clinging to her arm, she tilted her head up slightly and leaned in close. Fu Yunqing instinctively lowered her gaze in focus as Yu Yan leaned into her ear and whispered frivolously, “Rich lady sister5, what an impressive display of wealth.”
Fu Yunqing froze for a moment, then gave a soft reprimand, “Nonsense.”
“Ah…” Yu Yan let out a sound resembling a complaint, but her eyes were curved in a smile.
It certainly was nonsense; she was already her wife, after all. But there was nothing wrong with a little flirtatious roleplay, right?
Walking arm-in-arm onto the plane made sitting together perfectly natural. The sofa was soft and comfortable. Once they reached a smooth cruising altitude, Yu Yan unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned against the shoulder of the person beside her as if she had no bones.
This didn’t seem to surprise Fu Yunqing much. She simply let her lean there and asked if she wanted anything to drink. Yu Yan shook her head, so Fu Yunqing ordered a coffee for herself.
Yu Yan covered her mouth and let out a yawn, her eyes bleary with sleep. Fu Yunqing said to her softly, “There’s a bedroom further inside where you can sleep. Do you want me to take you?”
Fu Yunqing knew that Yu Yan hadn’t gotten enough sleep.
Mainly because Yu Yan had harassed her last night.
Packing her luggage last night had completely exhausted Yu Yan, sparking a tiny bit of resentment toward Fu Yunqing. At two in the morning, lying in bed, she sent a message to the Fu Yunqing she hadn’t contacted in over a week: 【I’ve got insomnia】
It was just a minor vent, and she hadn’t originally planned on waiting for a reply. But just as she was about to turn off her phone and sleep, Fu Yunqing actually messaged back.
Fu Yunqing looked exactly like the type of responsible adult who kept a very healthy schedule. Yu Yan had never expected her to still be awake at this hour.
Fu Yunqing: 【What’s wrong?】
Yu Yan was mildly surprised, and then started spouting nonsense: 【Flying to Ireland to marry Jiejie tomorrow. So excited, so looking forward to it, can’t sleep.】
“…” There was no reply from the other end for quite a while.
Haha, Fu Yunqing is probably speechless, Yu Yan thought. Yu Yan felt pretty speechless at herself, too.
However, Fu-jiejie was emotionally stable, gentle, and kind. She might have felt speechless, but she still good-naturedly took care of the annoying Yu Yan.
It turned out Fu Yunqing had gone to find a lullaby for her: 【Listening to this will calm your mind】
Yu Yan took a look. It was a guzheng7 melody.
Wow.
Her playful streak unsated, Yu Yan decided to tease her some more: 【Why isn’t Fu-jiejie sleeping】
Yu Yan: 【Are you also too excited to sleep?】
Fu Yunqing: 【No】
Yu Yan: 【Ah, then why aren’t you asleep at this hour?】
After a long pause, Fu Yunqing: 【I was asleep. I got up for some water and happened to see your message】
Oh. So it seemed she was the only one kept awake by excitement.
In that case, Yu Yan: 【Then Fu-jiejie should hurry and go back to sleep】
Yu Yan: 【See you tomorrow】
Yu Yan sent that ‘Good night, Wife’ sticker again.
Very obviously, this was ignored by Fu Yunqing, who only replied to the text: 【See you tomorrow】
Time returning to the present, Fu Yunqing still wore that same gentle expression, placid as still water, telling her there was a bed inside where she could sleep.
Fu Yunqing’s laptop was currently open on the coffee table in front of them. Only then did it occur to Yu Yan that she might be interrupting her work. She hurriedly lifted her head from her shoulder, but said carefully, “Um… in a bit.”
She was already so sleepy, so why wait a bit?
Yu Yan was no longer leaning against her, but she looked at her and asked obediently, “I want to stay and sit with Jiejie for a while. Can I?”
The author has something to say:
Yanyan: No matter how sleepy I am, I have to stay by Jiejie’s side.
Fu-jiejie: Is she… into me?
Forgot to put this in the draft box, so the update is a bit late, sorry!
