    Reward

Touches are allowed, kisses are allowed

Enclosed and dim, the cabin of the car isolated the two of them from the rest of the world once again.

A camellia-scented car diffuser filled the air with a fresh, pleasant fragrance. The back seat was spacious and comfortable—but the associations that space and comfort conjured made Yu Yan’s face flush and her heart race.

The light was dim, carrying a quiet, shadowy quality.

Staring at the shadow of the woman looming inches away in the gloom, Yu Yan swallowed hard several times.

“Jiejie…” Even when calling out to her, Yu Yan instinctively lowered her voice. She was terrified that some passerby might discover the two of them, parked right downstairs of their building, hiding in the back seat to do something unspeakable.

Through the textured fabric of her suit pants, Fu Yunqing’s knees pressed against Yu Yan’s. Feeling the gentle pressure, Yu Yan was pinned back into the corner of the seat.

Fu Yunqing suddenly spoke, her voice low. “I was so scared, worried something had happened to you.”

    Yu Yan froze slightly.

How could she think that? Why would she think that way? It was only a brief delay in replying to messages. They weren’t children—what could possibly happen to her?

But looking closely at her and feeling her distress, Yu Yan was swept up in those emotions as well. She offered another explanation, her voice gentle. “I’m perfectly safe. I was just so engrossed in the movie that I forgot to check my phone.”

    “I know,” Fu Yunqing said.

    “I already know,” she whispered.

Her eyes held a mixture of self-reproach and helplessness, tinged with a deep trace of sorrow. It was the first time Yu Yan had ever seen such an expression on her face. Her chest tightened with a sudden ache. Knitting her brows, she opened her mouth, wanting to ask what on earth was wrong today.

“Yanyan, you’re like my own child—a piece of flesh cut from my very heart. I worry about you so much,” Fu Yunqing said. “I constantly worry about you, and I’m terrified something will happen to you. When you don’t answer my calls or reply to my texts, I panic. I can’t control my emotions, and I can’t stop myself from getting so anxious.”

Her self-reproach grew even stronger. “I can’t stop my mind from running wild, either. I’m terrified you’ll block me again. I feel this compulsive need to keep messaging you just to check, wanting to call you, wanting to hear your voice before I can feel at ease.”

Anxiety, unease, even sheer terror… It wasn’t just when Yu Yan was out and unreachable; even when she was at home, if Fu Yunqing couldn’t get in touch with her, she would experience an unbearable, agonizing anxiety.

She wanted her to remain exactly like this forever—a twenty-year-old girl, innocent and pure, right before her eyes. She wanted Yu Yan to smile at her, to call her jiejie, to rely on her, and to love her. She wanted things to stay like this forever, never changing.

There could be no changes, and she could never leave again. Fu Yunqing refused to accept even the slightest sliver of such a risk.

In the shadows, the light in her eyes shattered. “I really can’t bear losing you again.”

Yu Yan’s eyes widened, her heart trembling.

No one had ever said such things to her. No one had ever looked at her with such an expression.

So deep, so profound, and so heavy with affection.

Yu Yan recalled the two entries recorded on the Weibo account “yyhfyqyyzyq”—

【Ever since the car accident, jiejie seems to have developed separation anxiety. Whenever I go out on my own, she always worries about me and has to text me every so often. I like it a little bit, but mostly, I just feel so, so much heartache for her.】

【Must remember to let her know I’m safe after I get to school from now on.】

When she had first read those words, she had actually found them a bit exaggerated. A vague, half-formed feeling had drifted through her mind, but she hadn’t been able to truly empathize. Now, with this love manifesting so tangibly right in front of her, a wave of emotion surged in her chest. She couldn’t find the words to describe it, but Fu Yunqing saw her doubts crumble. She leaned forward, opened her arms, and pulled Yu Yan into her embrace.

Resting her chin on Fu Yunqing’s shoulder, Yu Yan could feel the faint tremor of her profound unease.

“Whatever you’re doing in the future, if you can’t reply to my texts in time, tell me beforehand, okay?”

“Mmh, yes,” Yu Yan replied hastily, eager to reassure her. “Next time I won’t put it on silent. I’ll at least leave it on vibrate, and I’ll keep the phone right in my hand. I’ll check my messages immediately, and if it’s from you, I’ll reply right away.”

“And wherever you go in the future, let Dan Lin drive you. Let her stay by your side, all right?”

Seeing this woman so heartbroken over her, pleading so humbly, was more than Yu Yan could bear.

Watching her look so lost filled Yu Yan with guilt. Seeing her live in constant fear made her feel especially guilty.

She had wanted to run away… She had been completely prepared to make her escape, but…

But jiejie was so heartbroken right now.

Held in the woman’s arms, feeling her brokenness, Yu Yan couldn’t think clearly at all in a situation like this. “Mmh…”

    “Please don’t be sad anymore.”

    “I promise, I absolutely won’t block you again…”

Fu Yunqing released her from the embrace. Sliding her hand down to cup Yu Yan’s waist, she reached up with her other hand to caress her cheek. Her touch was incredibly gentle and slow. Highly sensitive to being touched, Yu Yan felt her long eyelashes flutter against the woman’s palm—like a butterfly in the dark, beating its wings but powerless to fly away.

This sight was so cute and heart-stirring. Fu Yunqing let out a soft sigh, slowly lowering her head until her presence completely filled Yu Yan’s vision.

“You’re not allowed to lie to me anymore.”

The look in her eyes shifted again, sending an inexplicable shiver through Yu Yan. “I… I absolutely won’t…”

“Then can I kiss you?” Her nose brushed gently against Yu Yan’s in a playful, teasing gesture. Her quiet request carried a subtle, hidden hint of amusement.

Both Yu Yan and she knew that she wasn’t actually asking for an answer.

She was only coaxing her through her nervousness.

Her lips instantly covered Yu Yan’s, all her restraint along the way melting between them. Moisture and heat rose within the enclosed car cabin. They didn’t part until they were out of oxygen. Foreheads resting together, Yu Yan’s face was flushed crimson while Fu Yunqing parted her lips to pant, her long eyelashes drooping as she looked at her. Her heart fluttered, and she took Yu Yan’s upper lip into her mouth again, sucking on it before letting go.

Embarrassed, Yu Yan ducked her head to rest against Fu Yunqing’s collarbone. Fu Yunqing’s chest rose and fell, a rich, heavy body fragrance wafting from deep inside her collar.

When her chest rose, it pressed gently against Yu Yan’s face.

Yu Yan felt it in a daze. She should have felt ashamed. She should have put a stop to it immediately. Yet, she allowed herself to sink into it, entirely out of her own control. Using the excuse of the embrace, she couldn’t help but stealthily experience it, secretly savoring the memory of that night when she had held her close, rubbing against her back.

She thought Fu Yunqing didn’t know, completely unaware that her reactions and desires were laid bare before her.

“When I wear nightgowns, you’re always staring right here. And whenever you hug me, you always try to press yourself against it.”

The woman’s voice drifted down from above. Yu Yan’s heart leaped, her eyelashes brushing against Fu Yunqing’s smooth, delicate skin.

Fu Yunqing had actually exposed her thoughts directly. Yu Yan stiffened and sat up, so nervous she felt as though she had committed some heinous crime, too guilty to even look at her.

Of course, Fu Yunqing wouldn’t blame her. She only asked with a smile in her eyes, “Do you like it that much?”

Of course, Fu Yunqing knew she liked it.

Perhaps the current Yanyan hadn’t realized how much she liked it yet, but many of her reactions were exactly the same as during that early, intensely shy period.

Thinking of the past, nostalgia showed in Fu Yunqing’s eyes. Guiding her, she asked, “What do you want to do?”

Yu Yan looked up, completely lost. “I…”

Fu Yunqing stroked the crown of her head, her palm coming to rest gently behind Yu Yan’s neck. “It’s okay, you can do whatever you want.”

“Think of it as… a reward for what you just promised me.”

    A reward…

    There’s even a reward?

    Only puppies get rewards…

But… but she really wanted to touch it.

Parting her lips, she whispered, “I want… to touch.”

    “You can,” Fu Yunqing replied.

Hearing this, Yu Yan slowly reached out and placed her hand over that soft fullness, kneading it gently through the fabric.

She noticed that Fu-jiejie’s breathing grew slightly heavier.

Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to pull her hand away. Instead, she brought her other hand up as well. Fu Yunqing let out a long breath and pressed further, “What else do you want to do?”

Yu Yan stared down, completely captivated, as if drawn into a deep whirlpool. She desperately wanted to do more, but she didn’t know how…

She didn’t know what else she could do, or if she was allowed to.

    “I… I…” Yu Yan swallowed hard, her throat dry. “I don’t know…”

Seeing her hesitant yet clearly unwilling to stop, Fu Yunqing took the initiative. “Do you want to kiss it?”

Was she allowed to kiss it?

Kissing her here… was that really okay?

    Yes, it was…

Yu Yan’s heart thudded wildly, her face flushing a deep, burning crimson. Cupping the soft weight, she leaned down and planted a very gentle, shy kiss right through the fabric.

Even this small act was enough to make her feel as if she would die of embarrassment, but it drew a soft, warm chuckle from Fu Yunqing.

Unsure of what she was laughing at, Yu Yan looked up, her fingers curling nervously.

Fu Yunqing slid her heavy overcoat off her shoulders. The black shirt she wore underneath had a great texture, tightly wrapping her chest and carrying a strong sense of forbidden restraint.

Yet, she reached her hand to her chest, undoing the buttons of her shirt one by one.

Yu Yan held her breath. Fu Yunqing unbuttoned her shirt all the way down to below her breasts. Her brassiere was also black, trimmed with a delicate trace of lace that lay flat against her porcelain skin.

She slipped the shirt off, exposing her smooth, pale shoulders. Then, hooking her fingers under the straps of her bra, she slid them slowly down.

Though it was something she possessed herself, the sight left Yu Yan utterly breathless.

    She… so beautiful…

“You’re still just like before. You’ve always been so attached to this place.”

Had she… had she really been this attached in the past?

Yu Yan reached out instinctively. It was as soft and warm as a water balloon, overflowing her fingers with a gentle scoop.

At the mere brush of Yu Yan’s thumb, the dusty rose of her nipple hardened instantly against the soft mound.

    Yu Yan’s breathing turned ragged.

She lowered her head slowly, carefully planting a kiss on the soft side of her breast.

She looked up to gauge her reaction. Fu Yunqing was gazing down at her, her elegant features softened by a maternal tenderness, looking for all the world as if she were nurturing her own child.

It seemed to convey praise, deep satisfaction, and gentle encouragement.

Yu Yan parted her lips, her heart swelling with awe and passion.

Her heart thrashed against her ribs. Lowering her head, she pressed her lips against the peak and parted them, drawing the budding tip into her mouth.

    “Mmh…”

Fu Yunqing merely took a deep, sharp breath, but it was Yu Yan who closed her eyes and let out a soft, helpless whimper.

Knowing how sensitive it was, she kept her teeth safely hidden, sucking with delicate care and tracing the peak with the tip of her tongue. She had no idea that this slow, agonizingly gentle touch was only more of a torment.

Fu Yunqing’s brows knit together, her expression a mix of trembling restraint and dazed pleasure.

When she finally pulled away, a thin, silver thread of saliva broke between them, glistening against the damp, pale skin. Yu Yan looked up at Fu Yunqing, the rims of her eyes flushed red, as if seeking comfort, or perhaps trying to convey some overwhelming, wordless feeling.

It was a rush of overflowing, unmanageable emotion that she couldn’t possibly hope to process.

Fu Yunqing lowered her head to kiss her.

Between kisses, Fu Yunqing whispered, “You must keep every single promise you just made to me.”

Yu Yan was too lost in the haze of desire to think. Her mind was entirely blank. “Mmh…”

“Be good,” the woman murmured. “You have to be even more obedient from now on…”

Yu Yan closed her eyes, entirely blind to the dark, possessive hunger swirling deep in the eyes of the woman exchanging saliva with her.

She was telling her that she had to be very, very good.

Just like how all of this was merely a reward for her compliance.

The touch she craved so deeply, the warmth she loved so much—once she crawled back into this motherly embrace, she would never be able to leave again.
