    Will Be Very Obedient

You Can Do Anything to Me

    “Puppy?”

Fu Yunqing didn’t quite understand. “What does ‘puppy’ mean?”

“A puppy is…” Yu Yan’s brain wasn’t working too well right now. She thought for a long while before saying, “A puppy is a puppy, like one that comes whenever you call, enthusiastic and obedient, only listens to its master, and will obediently endure whatever Training1 its master gives it.”

    Master?

    Training?

Fu Yunqing fell silent. Yu Yan knew this kind of relationship wasn’t something most people could accept. Afraid that Fu-jiejie would think she was a pervert, she panicked and hugged her leg tight again, pleading in a soft voice, “Jiejie~ I know, I know I’m just a jerk who made you so sad, broke your heart so many times. I’ve been so bad, I’m sorry…”

“I know the only way to make it up to you is to be your puppy. I’ll be really good and obedient. As my master, you can do anything you want to me. My body, everything I have, it’s all yours. You can check my phone, you can control who I’m allowed to see, you can monitor me wherever I go, you can discipline me when I’m not obedient. Even locking me up is fine, like locking up a puppy, locking me up and confining me is fine too, as long as you come see me every day, as long as you pet my head when you come.”

    “…”

Fu Yunqing lowered her head, gazing up at her in silence, seemingly slowly digesting what she’d just said—things that went a bit beyond her understanding. But right now, having laid everything bare, the puppy couldn’t bear the slightest Cold Violence2. Every second without her master’s response was shameful and agonizing. She raised her head, brow slightly furrowed, those beautiful Peach Blossom Eyes3 growing wetter and redder.

Hugging her leg tight, refusing to let go, her eyes so pitiful and humble—like a little stray by a dumpster begging to be adopted, doing everything it could to win its master’s sympathy. If she were rejected, cast aside, she’d be so devastated. Would she start crying right away?

How could she be so pitiful? She knew perfectly well that Fu-jiejie could never bear to see her like this.

Fu Yunqing had also had some drinks tonight and was a little tipsy. A subtle, secret feeling took over all her thoughts. The obedient puppy in front of her, and the “very obedient” version of herself the puppy described—there really was something a little attractive about it.

She wondered, would Yanyan really be that good?

Or was this just drunken nonsense?

“You’ve been so bad—would you really be that obedient?” She was so endearing it made your heart soften. Though skeptical, Fu Yunqing asked with a hint of a smile, half-jokingly, “Keeping a disobedient puppy takes a lot of work. You have to be very careful.”

    “Really!”

Yu Yan was beyond saving. She actually thought Fu Yunqing’s question was flirting with her. Intoxicated beyond reason, she couldn’t wait to prove herself. “Really~ I really will be very obedient. Mommy, don’t abandon me…”

She’d already called her Mommy—how could there be any question of abandoning her?

    “Is that so?”

Fu Yunqing pulled out her phone and opened the camera. She actually really wanted to record her like this.

She said, “You’re drunk right now. Are you sure you’re not just talking nonsense? What if you wake up tomorrow and don’t acknowledge any of it?”

Yu Yan earnestly promised, “I won’t~”

“Then let me record a video. Can you say everything you just said again?” Fu Yunqing knew all too well what she was like when drunk—contradicting herself was routine, saying she wanted to sleep one second and asking for kisses and hugs the next was also routine.

She couldn’t let her guard down. Smiling, she pressed suspiciously, “Do you even remember what you just said?”

The fact that Fu Yunqing was open to it but still skeptical really made Yu Yan anxious.

How could this be drunken impulsiveness? This was something she’d been bottling up inside for days, nearly suffocating herself with it. Did Fu Yunqing have any idea how desperately she wanted this?

    She had no idea.

Seeing Fu Yunqing actually point her phone at her, Yu Yan released her leg and shifted back a little, kneeling properly, a bit awkward, head lowered as she began, “I promise—”

“Lift your head first.” Fu Yunqing was strict.

Yu Yan’s heart skipped. She obediently raised her head—a phone was pointed at her, clearly already recording. The phone’s body blocked Fu Yunqing’s gentle, water-soft eyes, revealing only the lower half of her face and the upward curve of her lips.

    She was recording.

    She was smiling.

    What was she smiling about?

Yu Yan realized that her drunken appearance and the words about acknowledging her master4 she was about to say would all be captured on her phone, never to be deleted.

Realizing what a deeply shameful thing this was, Yu Yan’s cheeks burned red even as she secretly thrilled at the thought—Fu-jiejie really did have a natural talent for this.

She was already playing Filming Play5.

Having the moment of acknowledging her master recorded, to be brought out and savored from time to time—just thinking about it was enough to make a person lose themselves.

She had to work even harder to fulfill her promise of being good and obedient. Despite her embarrassment, she didn’t try to escape or act up. She just nervously gripped the cuff of Fu Yunqing’s pants. “I…”

Her long lashes trembled. She went all in. “I promise, as Mommy’s puppy I’ll be very good and obedient. I’ll change my phone password to Mommy’s birthday and hand it over for Mommy to manage anytime. I’ll check in with Mommy wherever I go and come home on time. In my heart and my eyes, there’ll only be Mommy.”

“Mommy can treat me however she wants, can order me around, can punish me—slap me, hit me, scold me, anything is fine. And… can reward me too, like, kisses… hugs…”

“Master can monitor me, can keep me locked at home, can even lock me in a cage, as long as you come pet me every day.”

    “…”

“Please, let me be your puppy.”

Stumbling through it, Yu Yan managed to say everything she could think of in one breath, leaving herself flushed red to the ears. She looked straight at the phone lens recording everything, dying to see Fu Yunqing’s eyes through it—but how could she move without her master’s word? She could only kneel obediently.

After a long while, Fu Yunqing finally finished recording and lowered the phone.

Before she saw her eyes, Yu Yan’s heart raced.

“Okay.” Those eyes brimmed with laughter, rippling and gentle, carrying a hint of something indefinably tender—clearly, she’d been pleased. She bent down and reached out her hand. Before her palm even touched her, the puppy had already pressed her face forward on her own, holding Fu Yunqing’s hand, gazing at her raptly while gently nuzzling against it.

She was so good at it.

So good at pleasing her master.

As if she’d been born a puppy—a darling, cunning little puppy.

    The next day, broad daylight.

Yu Yan curled up in bed, the blankets tangled around her in a mess. Her consciousness stirred; she opened her eyes, then closed them again, burying her face into the pillow.

The killer heaviness of a hangover made her not want to move. Her brain ran slow, like rusted machinery. She lay in bed for a good while before memories started coming back. She bolted upright, looking around—Fu Yunqing wasn’t in the room.

She glanced at the clock on the wall. It was almost noon.

She hadn’t completely blacked out6. She remembered everything that happened last night.

Oh god. Yu Yan was thoroughly shaken by herself.

Alcohol really did give people courage. She’d actually just knelt down like that, just laid out her desire so directly to Fu Yunqing. She’d actually… actually acknowledged a master.

    Where was Fu Yunqing?

All at once, Yu Yan’s heart was equal parts thrilled and nervous. Ignoring her hangover headache, she scrambled out of bed to find her. She checked the study first—Fu Yunqing wasn’t there. Downstairs? She ran downstairs and spotted Fu Yunqing’s profile from afar, leaning back on the sofa. A laptop rested on her knees, her fingers typing, her gaze focused.

Yu Yan slowed her steps, walking toward her quietly. Fu Yunqing heard the movement and looked up, meeting her eyes.

    “Jiejie…”

For a moment, Yu Yan didn’t know if it was embarrassment or timidity. She didn’t know how to face her. She called out softly, barely above a whisper.

Why was she being so careful? Yu Yan thought about Fu Yunqing’s warm and gentle nature—did she really need to be this timid with her?

Had Fu Yunqing actually taken her seriously as a puppy? The kind of puppy that could be trained—not just a cute metaphor.

She probably hadn’t even grasped what she meant. She’d probably just treated all those heartfelt words as drunken rambling, a joke.

But undeniably, the atmosphere between them right now was more subtle than before. Yu Yan couldn’t describe what kind of feeling it was.

She still couldn’t help feeling a bit awkward. “Jiejie… good morning.”

Fu Yunqing responded with a sound: “Mm.”

“Are you…” She reached for a topic, unnaturally. “Working?”

    “Mm.”

    “Last night—”

    “Come here,” Fu Yunqing said.

Yu Yan paused, and walked toward her.

Fu Yunqing sat on the sofa, and she was standing. Looking at her required lowering her head, and reaching her side also meant looking down at her from above.

She was already standing right in front of her. By rights, they should have started being tender and affectionate. But Fu Yunqing didn’t reach out to stroke her gently like before, or wrap an arm around her waist to hold her.

She just looked at her in silence. Her gaze, compared to its usual gentleness, could be called cold. It revealed no obvious emotion, and the nervousness Yu Yan had just managed to suppress crept back up.

    It really was strange.

Had Fu Yunqing actually been frightened by her? Even if she had, she shouldn’t look like this. Was Fu Yunqing going to seriously lecture her, tell her she shouldn’t play with those bad influences?

That whole cabinet of toys—Fu Yunqing hadn’t even settled that score with her yet.

Was Fu Yunqing an old prude?

    “Jiejie?”

Yu Yan tested the waters, calling her softly.

Fu Yunqing moved the laptop off her knees and said to her, “Lie down here.”

    Lie… here?

Yu Yan froze, her heart racing. Though she didn’t quite understand the intention, her body’s will to “obey” made her do exactly as told right away.

She bent down, knelt on the soft carpet, placed her hands in front of Fu Yunqing’s knees, and looked up, watching her carefully.

Fu Yunqing’s gaze rested on her, unhurried. She placed her palm on the back of her neck, the pressure she applied sometimes light, sometimes heavy—impossible to read.

“From now on at home, you may not speak to me from above. You lie down here, be good. Understand?”

    “This is my first rule.”

    “…”

Yu Yan felt her breathing become a little difficult.

She finally understood the subtle thing between them.

It was an unfamiliar sense of oppression, brought by Fu Yunqing.
