Blame the Villain – Chapter 246

Villainous Singer (18)

Lin Ruoyu can tolerate Old Xu’s meddling in her affairs since it’s a mutually beneficial relationship, but she cannot stand Old Xu targeting Song Xu Yi.

Song Xu Yi is Lin Ruoyu’s ultimate limit.

Initially, Lin Ruoyu intended to have a proper conversation with Old Xu. Even though she had already begun to entertain the idea of removing the chip from her face, her original plan was to proceed slowly. However, she didn’t anticipate that Song Xu Yi’s appearance would make Old Xu deviate from his usual behavior.

At first, Lin Ruoyu only intended to share everything she could with Song Xu Yi after the exams. She didn’t want Song Xu Yi to know about her relationship with Old Xu. She wanted to shield Song Xu Yi from these unpleasant matters, considering that a nation requires individuals like Song Xu Yi, who are like unwavering standards, always striving for positivity. She shouldn’t be exposed to these contaminating elements. Certain unsavory matters should remain her secret.

Yet, Lin Ruoyu hadn’t foreseen that Luo Xi would divulge her relationship with Old Xu to Song Xu Yi. This led her to hastily terminate the call between Song Xu Yi and Song Yi.

After disconnecting the call, Lin Ruoyu, pretending to be filled with intense fear, approached Old Xu. She questioned whether Old Xu intended to turn Song Xu Yi into another experiment. Unexpectedly, Old Xu promptly replied with an unwavering “yes.” Pushed to the brink, he disclosed his plan to Lin Ruoyu. Song Xu Yi’s existence proved that the intelligence of the Ruo Shui people wasn’t low. To maintain perpetual control over Ruo Shui, chips had to be implanted in all Ruo Shui individuals. He also indicated his imminent negotiation with high-ranking military officials to expedite the project, ensuring that Ruo Shui would forever be subservient to Proxima Centauri.

Old Xu insincerely presented the latest chip, which he had designed to turn a person into a complete servant. Once any dissent emerged, the chip would self-destruct explosively. Old Xu lured Lin Ruoyu with substantial benefits, attempting to persuade her to undergo implantation.

If this kind of chip proliferated, the entire populace of Ruo Shui would be forever enslaved to Proxima Centauri.

To safeguard Ruo Shui, Lin Ruoyu had no other choice at this moment but to eliminate Old Xu before the chips flowed into military hands.

Feigning agreement with Old Xu’s words, she took action when Old Xu opened her cheek to remove the chip and before he could insert the new chip – she got rid of Old Xu!

Meanwhile, Lin Ruoyu had long figured out Old Xu’s personality: Old Xu always left a contingency plan. As expected, in the same location on Old Xu’s temple, Lin Ruoyu discovered a memory chip containing all of Old Xu’s research data.

Lin Ruoyu removed Old Xu’s chip, erasing all traces.

She had actually seen Song Xu Yi’s message as well and was eager to reply. However, her face was currently too horrifying, so she found materials for healing. Yet, a full recovery would take almost half a month. Previously, she had deliberately maintained her most beautiful appearance in front of Song Xu Yi, and naturally, she didn’t want her current face to be exposed to her.

But Song Xu Yi was about to enroll in the Advanced Robotics Academy.

After enrollment, she wouldn’t be able to see Song Xu Yi for a whole month.

Lin Ruoyu couldn’t control the desire to return, planning to sneak a glance at Song Xu Yi and then leave discreetly. She needed strength, so she first went back to her room. She decoded Old Xu’s chip and implanted a chip she had developed using Old Xu’s ideas into her own cheek. However, before she could go find Song Xu Yi, she heard the sound of Song Xu Yi coming upstairs…

Filled with intense apprehension, Lin Ruoyu was afraid that Song Xu Yi would discover her disheveled and unattractive appearance. She could only hide behind the curtain, yet to her surprise, Song Xu Yi still spotted her. Moreover, it seemed that Song Xu Yi wasn’t repulsed by her at all…

……

Lin Ruoyu selectively shared with Song Xu Yi about her background, Old Xu’s conspiracy, and her initial surveillance of Song Xu Yi. However, she didn’t reveal her admiration for Song Xu Yi. The timing wasn’t appropriate now – Ruo Shui was in turmoil, and she was in such a disheveled state; it wasn’t the right time for a confession.

She silently gazed at Song Xu Yi, secretly making a determination: on some future day, under a clear sky, both of them back in their homeland Ruo Shui, free from all stigma and burdens, she would remove the chip from her cheek and confess her feelings to Song Xu Yi amidst the blessings of the Ruo Shui people.

Upon hearing about Lin Ruoyu’s background, Song Xu Yi couldn’t hold back her tears once again.

She had never imagined that Lin Ruoyu was carrying so much burden and hatred. She understood the weight of Lin Ruoyu’s words – Lin Ruoyu had essentially entrusted her entire life to her. If her background were to be revealed, the only thing awaiting her would be death.

“Ruoyu, I… My father isn’t a bad person either. I’m sorry, I’ve been pretending before. I’m actually very confident that I’ll get first place this time…” Thinking about her previous concealment from Lin Ruoyu, Song Xu Yi felt immense guilt. She also empathized with the suffering Lin Ruoyu had endured. Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably…

Lin Ruoyu had originally intended not to shed tears, but she sensed Song Xu Yi’s heartfelt concern. This feeling filled her heart with boundless joy, as if sunlight was gently melting the thorns within her. She looked up at the slowly rising sun outside, feeling that perhaps the morning sunlight was too bright, causing tears to uncontrollably well up in her eyes…

Just as tears trickled down Lin Ruoyu’s cheeks, Song Xu Yi’s lifelike robot, the one that closely resembled Lin Ruoyu’s mother and that she had given to Lin Ruoyu as a gift, was placed on the windowsill. Suddenly, it turned around and looked gently at Lin Ruoyu, its lips curving into a smile as it spoke —

“Ruoyu, you’re truly amazing. There will be many people who love you in this world…”

(If you're not reading on littlepandatranslations.com, it means this has been stolen)

Lin Ruoyu was taken aback, turning to look at Song Xu Yi. Although Song Xu Yi had programmed the robot to encourage Lin Ruoyu, she hadn’t expected the robot to initiate this at this moment. Feeling a bit shy, yet meeting Lin Ruoyu’s gaze, Song Xu Yi tried to hold her gaze with determination: “This is what I wanted to tell you!”

A smile tugged at the corners of Lin Ruoyu’s eyes.

All the stifling emotions in her heart vanished in that moment, as if something had unlocked the door to her heart. The sky outside appeared an exceptional shade of blue, and her mood was as radiant as the sun filling the sky. Everything suddenly became clear and transparent…

“I know.”

Lin Ruoyu heard herself speak softly, smiling at Song Xu Yi without adding any more words. But in her heart, she continued, “In this world burdened with responsibilities and hardships, I don’t love it. The only thing I love is you.”

Afterwards, Song Xu Yi enrolled in the Robotics Academy.

Because of Old Xu’s interest in Song Xu Yi before his passing, the other professors paid special attention to her. However, within the higher institution, Song Xu Yi reverted to her previous clumsy self, struggling to keep up with the advanced curriculum. When others questioned her exceptional performance in graduation tests, she attributed it to her good friend Lin Ruoyu. She mentioned that a few days before the exams, she happened to see a similar model from Lin Ruoyu, which helped her quickly complete the test assignment…

Everyone thought Song Xu Yi had lucked out, and no one doubted her claims. After all, Lin Ruoyu was the darling of various brands, endorsing countless products. It was reasonable for a robotics company to gift their newly developed robot to Lin Ruoyu. Additionally, Song Xu Yi’s performance before the exams was quite unremarkable…

As a result, Song Xu Yi gradually faded into obscurity within the higher institution. Like many individuals lacking exceptional talent, she put in effort but couldn’t achieve remarkable results.

At the higher institution, Song Xu Yi continued her studies in robotics, with her primary focus being on humanoid robots. She dedicated her time to learning everything about creating humanoid robots – from skin color and hair quality to human organs and emotions. Nearly all her classmates and professors sneered at her dedicated research: Developing humanoid robots, while popular, was one of the most challenging fields in robotics. After all, human emotions were among the most difficult aspects to control. Even humans themselves struggled to control their emotions, let alone robots.

How could someone of average talent like Song Xu Yi possibly delve deep into such a demanding course?

……

However, no one knew that after hearing Lin Ruoyu’s story, disregarding Lin Ruoyu’s attempts to dissuade her, Song Xu Yi implanted a chip into herself as well. She was already intelligent and diligent, and with the assistance of the chip, her abilities were greatly enhanced. This significantly accelerated her research progress, and she had secretly developed robots capable of assisting Ruo Shui’s inhabitants in mining.

Her intense focus on humanoid robots was due to her desire to challenge the most difficult task – could she develop robots that were similar to humans, possessing emotions and preferences?

Once these robots were truly brought into existence, it would deal a heavy blow to the pride of the Proxima Centauri’s robot systems. It could thoroughly undermine the confidence of the Proxima Centauri inhabitants!

Perhaps driven by personal motives or maybe due to spending so much time with Lin Ruoyu, Song Xu Yi’s created robots often bore some resemblance to Lin Ruoyu. Almost habitually, she would place the chip beneath the red mark near the robot’s eye corner.

Four years of higher education flew by, and Song Xu Yi graduated once again. Most students who graduated from the higher institution would usually enter research institutes in Proxima Centauri. However, Song Xu Yi’s performance was unremarkable, and the research institutions extending olive branches to her were scarce and among the least prestigious…

Hence, when Song Xu Yi decided to return to Ruo Shui, no one questioned her choice. After all, Song Xu Yi’s father was Guardian Song Yi. Rather than staying on Proxima Centauri and struggling in mediocre research institutions, it made more sense for her to go back to Ruo Shui and enjoy the prosperity supported by her father.

What astonished everyone was that Lin Ruoyu wanted to return to Ruo Shui alongside Song Xu Yi!

In the end, Lin Ruoyu successfully terminated her contract with her former management agency. Afterward, she managed her own career autonomously. Perhaps due to her past interest in studying robotics, she seemed to favor robotics companies greatly during these years, becoming the spokesperson for several robotics research companies…

Lin Ruoyu’s public explanation was that Song Xu Yi was her girlfriend, and she wanted to go back home with her girlfriend.

This was the excuse they had agreed upon to use publicly. However, when discussing it with Lin Ruoyu, as Song Xu Yi looked into Lin Ruoyu’s enchanting and beautiful eyes, her heart couldn’t help but quicken for a moment.

In the following period, the two pretended to be a couple, appearing together at various occasions. As Song Xu Yi gazed at Lin Ruoyu, the frequency of her blushing increased, eventually leading her to admit – she had developed feelings for Lin Ruoyu.

Song Xu Yi made a secret resolution; she would confess her feelings to Lin Ruoyu once they returned to Ruo Shui.

She conveyed her affection for Lin Ruoyu to the system. However, for some unknown reason, Song Xu Yi suddenly couldn’t connect to the system…

A faint premonition emerged in Song Xu Yi’s heart – perhaps she was truly on the verge of returning.

Therefore, Song Xu Yi cherished everything on Ruo Shui even more.

(If you're not reading on littlepandatranslations.com, it means this has been stolen)

Her original plan was to confess her feelings to Lin Ruoyu after returning to Ruo Shui. However, when they did return, both of them became incredibly busy –

Song Xu Yi put the mining robots she had developed into use, freeing the hands of the Ruo Shui inhabitants and causing a sensation worldwide.

The people of Proxima Centauri only then realized that they had let the tiger return to the mountain. They demanded Song Xu Yi’s return to Proxima Centauri, but she refused to comply. At this point, they were also overwhelmed –

Under Lin Ruoyu’s leadership, the people of Ruo Shui initiated a wave of resistance.

It was only then that the people of Proxima Centauri discovered that the money Lin Ruoyu had earned over the years had been converted into weapons and sent to Ruo Shui.

……

Even though Song Xu Yi’s intervention accelerated many processes in this world, the main characters, a man and a woman, still followed the original plot, meeting and falling in love, and were about to have their wedding at the Guardian’s residence.

Song Xu Yi originally believed that the story wouldn’t unfold as the original plot did. A few days before the wedding, she went elsewhere to set up mining robots. After all, Lin Ruoyu already knew about Song Yi’s identity, so things shouldn’t develop like they did in the original plot.

Song Xu Yi never expected that she would hear the news from Song Yi, announcing that she was his adopted daughter, on the day before the main characters’ wedding!

Everyone thought it was because Song Xu Yi was now at the forefront of the resistance against Proxima Centauri, and Song Yi, as Proxima Centauri’s evil dog, deliberately distanced himself from her.

However, Song Xu Yi sensed that something was amiss!

She and Lin Ruoyu rushed back to the Guardian’s residence day and night, just in time for the wedding of the main characters…

It was at this moment that Song Xu Yi learned: Proxima Centauri had continued Old Xu’s plan over the past few years. Witnessing Lin Ruoyu’s led resistance, they had accelerated the process and planned to implant chips into every Ruo Shui inhabitant’s body after this wedding…

And the people responsible for this project, along with all the chips, had been mixed into the bride’s dowry and transported to the Guardian’s residence.

Song Yi had already planted energy bombs in the residence. He had only learned about this plan the day before, and he was constantly preparing to sacrifice himself for the world. He had secretly stored many energy bombs: to kill the Proxima Centauri people, to halt this project – this was the best way he could think of to save the people of Ruo Shui.

Even if he died forever with a tarnished reputation, so what?

There will always be new hope for Ruo Shui, as he had already seen the spark of hope ignited on Ruo Shui…

However, Song Xu Yi didn’t want Song Yi to rest in peace like this – a hero shouldn’t just be buried underground.

Amidst the chaos, Song Xu Yi and Lin Ruoyu managed to incapacitate Song Yi, the main characters, and the other innocent Ruo Shui inhabitants and seal them inside a spacecraft…

In such a situation, only Song Xu Yi and Lin Ruoyu, these two half-human, half-machine beings, could stand in the way of the Proxima Centauri people.

The spacecraft soared into the sky, and Song Xu Yi and Lin Ruoyu did their best to intercept the escaping Proxima Centauri people. Initially, the Proxima Centauri people scoffed, but eventually, they were horrified to realize that the two of them possessed combat abilities far beyond human capabilities. They blocked the entrance, preventing anyone from passing by them.

And in the sea of blood, they saw each other’s resolute and smiling eyes —

Even if they were to perish here, what would it matter?

Ruo Shui will get better in the future.

With weapons in the hands of the people, their power converged. Song Xu Yi liberated their hands, their living conditions significantly improved. And soon, they would discover more ‘surprises’: a nearly complete set of machine learning techniques left by Song Xu Yi; the virus that Lin Ruoyu had embedded in the Proxima Centauri military’s neural network; and the new generation of Ruo Shui, who were growing up and preparing to take the baton…

This was a belief rooted in their blood, a fight for freedom and equality.

The light of the stars would eventually burn through the constraints from beyond the sky, igniting the flames of freedom and peace that belonged to Ruo Shui’s future.

……

(If you're not reading on littlepandatranslations.com, it means this has been stolen)

However, it’s a bit of a pity, as they hadn’t had a chance to express their feelings to each other.

Song Xu Yi looked at Lin Ruoyu, who also seemed to have something to say. However, she was accustomed to being modest in front of Song Xu Yi. Seeing Song Xu Yi’s expression, Lin Ruoyu subconsciously let her speak first. So, facing Lin Ruoyu’s widened eyes, she heard the voice of Song Xu Yi confessing —

“Ruoyu, I like you!”

“No,” the girl she had been thinking about playfully tilted her head again, revealing a mischievous smile. Shy yet bravely meeting her gaze, she said, “I love you!”

Right after that, the energy bomb ignited…

The author has something to say:

The next story will be returning to the real world.

Actually, it should be… not tragic… right?

During this time, I haven’t dared to make jokes or have fun, afraid of receiving sharp comments.

TL I’m back! Sorry, I was sick this entire time. I hope i won’t get sick again for at least a few years, I hate it 🙁
