Blame the Villain – Chapter 20.3

Villainous Movie Star (20)

Song Xuyi thought that Zhao Qingyu was just joking and didn’t take it to heart.

After returning home, Song Xuyi began to double her research efforts in the field of Sleeping Syndrome. She was crazily pushing herself, to the point where even Huang Shuo started to worry and advise her to rest more…

Unlike others who were possessive of their research, Song Xuyi would release any research progress she made for the world to know.

Soon, everyone knew about a young scholar named Song Xuyi who was researching Sleeping Syndrome.

The female lead, Sun Wan, became highly interested in this field after reading Song Xuyi’s research findings, and she also immersed herself in this area.

While Song Xuyi was tirelessly researching Sleeping Syndrome, Zhao Qingyu achieved the accomplishment of completing the eight films Song Xuyi had asked of her. But she didn’t stop there. Her films gained worldwide recognition, especially after it was revealed that she was also the CEO of a multi-billion-dollar company. People began to speculate about what kind of person could match up to Zhao Qingyu. However, as time went by, even when Zhao Qingyu turned thirty, no rumors about her dating anyone emerged.

No one knew that Zhao Qingyu had been waiting for a certain day.

In the days following her mother’s death, Song Xuyi urged Zhao Qingyu to find a new purpose. Song Xuyi thought that Zhao Qingyu would start reconciling with the world afterward, but little did she know that Zhao Qingyu had found her new pillar of support, which was Song Xuyi herself.

Zhao Qingyu transformed into the person Song Xuyi wanted her to become, wanting to be closer to the “Zhao Qingyu” in Song Xuyi’s heart. If she couldn’t live past thirty, then every day she lived in this short life would be a silent confession to Song Xuyi.

And once she surpassed the age of thirty, she would do everything in her power to pursue Song Xuyi.

On her thirtieth birthday, with a mix of determination and anticipation, Zhao Qingyu put on her most beautiful makeup and lay on her bed. She sent a message to Song Xuyi: “Hey! Tomorrow is my birthday. Dr. Song, do you have time to come to my place for dinner tomorrow night? The key to my house is in the third shoe cabinet at the entrance…”

She had decorated her room with a beautiful setting. If she made it through this day, she would confess her feelings to Song Xuyi tomorrow night at her home.

Song Xuyi didn’t reply.

Zhao Qingyu didn’t think much of it. In recent years, Song Xuyi had become increasingly busy, sometimes not even having time to eat. Moreover, lately, perhaps due to the arrival of winter, Song Xuyi had been sleeping more, and it was likely that she hadn’t seen Zhao Qingyu’s message.

Zhao Qingyu turned off her phone and silently waited for midnight to arrive.

When the clock struck midnight, Zhao Qingyu couldn’t help but laugh joyfully in the darkness!

She was still alive!

She didn’t have Sleeping Syndrome!

From now on, she had enough time to express her love to Song Xuyi…

Zhao Qingyu couldn’t describe the excitement in her heart at that moment.

She excitedly turned on her phone, subconsciously wanting to immediately share this news with Song Xuyi, but also considering that she might be sleeping and didn’t want to disturb her…

However, as soon as her phone turned on, she received countless missed calls, and she saw a text message sent by her assistant.

“Sister Qingyu, Miss Song…has passed away.”

……

On that night, two pieces of news almost caused a sensation on Weibo:

First, a researcher named Song Xuyi discovered the cause of Sleeping Syndrome. It was expected that insomnia would be completely conquered within a few years.

Second, Zhao Qingyu, who had never been involved in any scandals, publicly declared her love for someone on Weibo. However, that person…was already deceased.

“Even if you enter the grave, I will spend the rest of my life loving you.”

(If you're not reading on littlepandatranslations.com, it means this has been stolen)

When Song Xuyi left this world, her mind recalled the most painful memories from the original host’s life—the moment when Mother Song leaned against Father Song’s chest and sobbed softly, “What should we do? Why does Xuyi have this birthmark on her wrist? Why did Sleeping Syndrome fall upon her…”

Later, the original host finally learned that Sleeping Syndrome had a hereditary history in the Song family, and the birthmark was a symbol of Sleeping Syndrome within the family.

As a result, the original host, who had initially aspired to become a doctor, gave up her dreams and became willful and mean. She thought that if she became detestable, her parents wouldn’t feel so heartbroken when she died…

“Don’t worry, from now on, Song Xuyi will always be with her family. Those who are cured of Sleeping Syndrome in the future will be the continuation of your life. When your family thinks of you, they will feel proud and comforted…” Song Xuyi spoke softly, watching this world gradually fade away.

From the moment Song Xuyi entered this world, she had made up her mind to conquer Sleeping Syndrome.

Fortunately, in the final moment of her life, she finally discovered the cause of Sleeping Syndrome.

However, Song Xuyi still didn’t make it past Zhao Qingyu’s thirtieth birthday, but she thought to herself: discovering the cause of Sleeping Syndrome was the best gift she could give to Zhao Qingyu…

“Xuyi, are you ready to move on to the next world?”

Song Xuyi found herself in a pure white space, and the embodiment of the system turned out to be a small black cat. At this moment, the cat used its front paws to wipe away the tears and softly spoke with a hoarse voice.

The system had never expected that Song Xuyi would conceal her Sleeping Syndrome so well, even managing to keep it a secret from the system.

Song Xuyi nodded.

“To prevent memory interference, we will extract and store the memories of the person who left the deepest impression on you in this world.” The system took out a small helmet and placed it on Song Xuyi’s head. As Song Xuyi’s body gradually dimmed, the system couldn’t help but probe into the situation of this world after Song Xuyi’s departure, before following her to the next world:

The time the system probed had already been set five years later:

Huang Shuo’s research institute displayed a test paper with a score of zero on the final question, while a sculpture was created next to it in the shape of a large ‘100’;

Mother Song and Father song invested in the development of Sleeping Syndrome treatment drugs, and whenever they thought of their daughter, despite the sadness, they felt more pride.

People hadn’t forgotten Song Xuyi, and many places had sculptures named after her;

The female lead, Sun Wan, discovered the accurate method to solve Sleeping Syndrome…

And that person…

The system discovered that the woman, who only dared to confess her love in the dark of night, couldn’t be found anywhere. But in the end, the system found her tombstone next to Song Xuyi’s grave.

Three years after Song Xuyi’s death, Zhao Qingyu collected all the Best Actress awards in the world. She fell off a cliff while teaching in the mountains and died. Strangely enough, when everyone found her body…

—There was a smile on her beautiful face.

The author has something to say:

I don’t really like tragedies, but this arc is probably my favorite (pretty much all of them are good though). I scoured my NovelUpdates trying to remember the name of this novel just so I could reread it lmao. Happy that the story continues on otherwise I’d be bawling again right now! (●>ω<)ノ゙
