Top-Tier Omega: Chasing Alpha to the Crematorium – Chapter 94
by Little PandaWu-Zhan Side Story 3 [Bonus Extra]
Zhan Nansheng’s Counterattack
When Zhan Nansheng grabbed Wu Lan’s wrist and dragged her out of the elevator, the other woman was still studying the apartment’s security access system.
“The security of this era is far too fragile.” Wu Lan frowned as she poked at the electronic screen. “I tried it yesterday, and it can be bypassed quite easily…”
“Shut up, former FBI Director.” Zhan Nansheng threw her coat onto Wu Lan’s face. “Right now, you’re just an ordinary corporate slave.”
The evening wind swept over them, carrying the distinct clamor of the city.
Wu Lan stood on the sidewalk in a daze, the neon lights casting shifting patterns of color across her eyes.
As the two of them turned a street corner, the fiery-red sign of a hot pot restaurant came into view.
Wu Lan stared at the copper pot model at the entrance—which was easily a meter in diameter—and her throat bobbed in a highly suspicious gulp.
“Scared of spicy food?” Zhan Nansheng arched an eyebrow.
Wu Lan instinctively straightened her posture, then added in a quiet voice, “It’s just… I’ve never had it before.”
Zhan Nansheng suddenly stepped closer, her nose almost brushing against Wu Lan’s chin. “So there are actually things Director Wu doesn’t know how to do?” Her warm breath, carrying a faint scent of mint toothpaste, brushed over Wu Lan’s neck. “Tonight, I’ll let you broaden your horizons.”
The waiter led them to a table by the window.
Wu Lan studied the menu on the smart screen. Her finger paused as it slid across the display. “This… pig brain?”
“It’s incredibly delicious!” Zhan Nansheng was already checking off items with practiced ease. “And fresh duck blood, beef aorta…” Looking up to see Wu Lan turning pale, she grinned mischievously and added an insanely spicy soup base to the order.
When the nine-grid copper pot1 was brought to the table, Wu Lan looked as if she were defusing a bomb.
The sections filled with red broth were boiling with a dense layer of chili peppers. She took a tentative sniff and was immediately sent into a fit of coughing, forcing her to turn her head away.
Zhan Nansheng pushed a glass of iced sour prune juice toward her. “Start with this first.” She got up and walked over to the sauce bar. When she returned, she was carrying two bowls of dipping sauce. “Sesame oil as the base, a spoonful of minced garlic, half a spoonful of oyster sauce… Do you want coriander in yours?”
Wu Lan looked down at the bowl that had been stuffed into her hand. “I’ve had similar things before… but no one ever taught me how to mix the sauce.”
“Now you do.” Zhan Nansheng roughly dumped half a bowl of coriander into Wu Lan’s sauce. “Hurry up and eat. Beef tripe is best when cooked for exactly ten seconds.”
The beef tripe bobbing in the red broth was plucked out with precision and rolled around in the sesame oil.
The moment Wu Lan took a bite, the fiery spice rushed straight to her head, turning the rims of her eyes red.
“Water…!”
Zhan Nansheng laughed heartily as she handed over the sour prune juice, waiting until the other woman had downed half the glass before speaking in a leisurely tone, “Oh, I forgot to mention—it’s best to have the first bite with some rice.”
Wu Lan was too spent from the spice to speak, yet when Zhan Nansheng offered her a second piece, she opened her mouth without a moment’s hesitation.
Beads of sweat rolled down her temples, pooling in the hollows of her collarbones.
Zhan Nansheng stared at the tiny reflection of light. Recalling Wu Lan’s promise to let her do whatever she wished tonight, she suddenly felt her mouth go dry.
Detecting Zhan Nansheng’s explicit gaze, Wu Lan could not help but chuckle. “What kind of inappropriate thoughts is the Eldest Miss having right now?”
“Just eat!” Her thoughts exposed, Zhan Nansheng glared at Wu Lan. She dumped the entire plate of shrimp paste into the pot, mocking her with a smirk. “I guess you’re only suited for the mild broth after all.”
Wu Lan looked at her radiant face, her expression full of indulgence. “Yes, the Eldest Miss is indeed the capable one.”
The rising steam from the hot pot softened the outlines of their faces.
Wu Lan gradually got the hang of it, even learning to use the strainer to scoop out the duck blood for Zhan Nansheng.
When Zhan Nansheng was sticking out her tongue from the spice, a bowl of chilled sweet fermented rice soup with glutinous rice balls2 was brought to her lips at just the right moment.
“Do you want to drink?” Zhan Nansheng pointed to a special cocktail on the menu named ‘Drunken Dream, Dream Death’.
Wu Lan replied, “Of course we are. To celebrate our new life.”
The crisp, pleasant sound of clinking glasses echoed between them.
Zhan Nansheng took small sips, her mind entirely consumed by visions of making this woman beg for mercy later.
Wu Lan, however, threw her head back and drained her glass in one go. A stray drop of alcohol trickled down her chin, disappearing deep into her collar.
“Drink slower!” Zhan Nansheng hurriedly reached out to grab the glass. “This drink has a strong kick…”
Wu Lan suddenly caught her wrist, her eyes shimmering with a hint of intoxication. “Nansheng.” The name, which she rarely uttered so directly, rolled off her tongue. “This is wonderful.”
Zhan Nansheng also felt her eyes grow warm. Yes, it really was nice like this.
The two of them enjoyed their hot pot, occasionally locking eyes with smiles they could not hide.
After they finished eating, the night breeze blew over them as they stepped out of the restaurant. Wu Lan’s steps grew noticeably unsteady, and Zhan Nansheng supported her, secretly feeling quite smug.
Inside the apartment elevator, Zhan Nansheng deliberately brushed against Wu Lan’s hot earlobe. “Don’t beg for mercy later.”
Wu Lan leaned in closer, her alcohol-scented breath puffing against the side of Zhan Nansheng’s neck. “Then we’ll have to see how the Eldest Miss performs.”
The fingerprint lock had just chimed a successful unlock when Zhan Nansheng shoved her into the living room.
Wu Lan cooperatively collapsed onto the sofa, raising her hands in a gesture of surrender, though a dangerous glint flickered in her eyes.
“Don’t move!” Zhan Nansheng straddled her, her fingers clumsily unbuttoning her shirt.
The buttons refused to give, and in her frustration, she yanked them hard enough to snap the threads and tear them right off.
Wu Lan let out a muffled chuckle and propped herself up. “Need my help…?”
“Shut up!” Zhan Nansheng pushed her right back down, bending over to bite down on Wu Lan’s exposed collarbone.
The body beneath her visibly tensed up, but when she stole a glance at Wu Lan’s face, the other woman was actually still maintaining that damned composure.
This was completely unscientific.
Recalling Wu Lan’s usual methods, Zhan Nansheng tentatively licked the sensitive spot at the base of her ear.
Wu Lan’s breathing suddenly quickened, and her skin felt even hotter than expected. This discovery greatly encouraged Zhan Nansheng.
She took the opportunity to slide her hand under Wu Lan’s clothes, but Wu Lan suddenly grabbed her wrist, a suppressed storm churning in her eyes.
“Nansheng…” A hoarse warning, laced with a plea.
Zhan Nansheng immediately looked up, her eyes shining with startling brightness. “Here?”
She gave another lick, watching with satisfaction as Wu Lan’s entire body shuddered. “So Section Chief Wu had a little secret hidden away after all.”
Wu Lan’s chest heaved violently. Suddenly, she rolled over, pinning Zhan Nansheng beneath her. “Have you had your fun…?”
“Wu Lan, don’t you dare cheat!” Zhan Nansheng immediately snapped in a huff. “We clearly agreed beforehand—I’m the one on top!”
Wu Lan froze.
She stared helplessly at Zhan Nansheng for a few seconds before slumping back against the sofa cushions in resignation. “…Go on.”
This compromise was more heart-fluttering than any sweet confession.
Zhan Nansheng straddled her again, cupping Wu Lan’s face as she kissed her softly and thoroughly.
She could feel the other woman’s body tensing like a fully drawn bow, yet she stubbornly remained unresisting, with only the occasional gasp slipping out to betray her true feelings.
“Let me hear you,” Zhan Nansheng murmured, biting her earlobe gently. “Just like you made me do.”
Wu Lan suddenly clasped the back of her head to deepen the kiss, whispering against her swollen lips, “How about… the Eldest Miss demonstrates first?”
Embarrassed and annoyed, Zhan Nansheng pinched her, eliciting a sudden, muffled groan.
This reaction was far too encouraging. She immediately pressed her advantage, her fingers nimbly sliding into Wu Lan’s already disheveled collar.
“Beg me,” she challenged, looking up with a provocative grin.
Wu Lan’s gaze was completely unfocused.
She opened her mouth and closed it again, finally covering her eyes in utter resignation. “…Eldest Miss, spare me.”
Zhan Nansheng’s heart was beating so fast it felt ready to burst from her chest.
She sat up to admire her masterpiece: the former FBI Director was now sprawled across the sofa with her clothes half-undone, her pale skin flushed with desire, and the teeth marks Zhan Nansheng had just bitten into her collarbone still clearly visible.
The Eldest Miss, who had been suppressed for so long, finally got to hold her head high.
Though the path had been winding, she had finally succeeded in taking the lead.
After they showered, she patted Wu Lan’s cheek with a show of magnanimity. “Alright, I’ll let you off the hook today.”
The moment the words left her mouth, Zhan Nansheng’s world spun as she was pinned deep into the sofa cushions.
Wu Lan’s kisses rained down on her with a fierce tenderness, while her fingertips accurately found her most sensitive spot.
Zhan Nansheng’s smugness did not even last for three seconds before dissolving into broken whimpers.
“Ngh…!” Zhan Nansheng suddenly clutched the sheets. “How… how do you still have so much energy?!”
Wu Lan suddenly pinned her wrists by her pillow, their noses touching. “Perhaps… it’s because the Eldest Miss lacks experience and clearly still needs instruction.”
The warm, moist breath puffing into her ear canal was more shiver-inducing than any other tease.
Zhan Nansheng’s heart hammered wildly. This was clearly cheating!
But before she could protest, Wu Lan sealed her lips once more.
This kiss was unbelievably tender, like a reassurance and a promise.
Having kissed her into a complete daze, Wu Lan suddenly fished out a small box from beneath the pillow, chuckling softly. “How about trying this?”
The moment Zhan Nansheng saw what it was, she snapped wide awake. It was the box for a brand-new adult toy, with a heart-pounding tagline printed right on the lid.
“Wu! Lan!” Her face turned crimson as she lunged at her. “When did you even…”
“While you were showering.” Wu Lan caught her easily, pressing her back down onto the bed. “Delivery apps are truly amazing. They’re so fast.”
Zhan Nansheng’s protests were swallowed up between their lips.
And the night was still very long…
