Top-Tier Omega: Chasing Alpha to the Crematorium – Chapter 29
by Little PandaLet Me Completely Belong to You
Since their unhappy parting that night, the relationship between Ming Yu and Song Qingpei had dropped to a freezing point.
Although Ming Yu felt remorseful inside, her strong pride made it impossible for her to continue bowing her head in apology after being humiliated by Song Qingpei.
Song Qingpei, on the other hand, acted even colder, as if she were mechanically completing a task. Every time she finished soothing her, she would leave without hesitation, unwilling to spare Ming Yu even an extra glance.
Song Qingpei’s coldness made Ming Yu feel an unprecedented sense of defeat. She couldn’t help but wonder if she was truly that unbearable, so much so that Song Qingpei wasn’t willing to give her even a shred of warmth.
Under such torment, Ming Yu couldn’t help but pay even more attention to Song Qingpei. A voice at the bottom of her heart even began to hypnotize her—perhaps she should take the initiative; after all, she was the one who had hurt Song Qingpei first.
Another early morning. Sunlight spilled into the room through the gaps in the curtains.
Ming Yu walked downstairs. She wore a crisp, gold-trimmed black military uniform that highlighted her slender waist and long legs. Her expression was stern, yet a trace of exhaustion lingered in her eyes.
Song Qingpei and Song Song were already sitting at the dining table, breakfast laid out before them.
She glanced at Song Qingpei by the table. Her lips moved slightly as if she wanted to say something, but ultimately, she sat down in silence.
The two sat face to face. Neither spoke.
Only the crisp clinking of tableware sounded at the table. The atmosphere was so suffocatingly dull it was hard to breathe.
Song Song picked up her spoon, ready to eat, but she quickly sensed something was wrong. Mama and Mommy weren’t speaking again today.
She wrinkled her little face, her gaze darting back and forth between the two, before she finally couldn’t help asking, “Mama, Mommy, are you fighting?”
Song Qingpei and Ming Yu both froze for a moment, then denied it in unison: “No.”
Song Song clearly didn’t believe them. Pouting her little mouth, she said in dissatisfaction, “You’re lying! You aren’t talking to each other, so you must be fighting!”
Song Qingpei set down her chopsticks and gently rubbed Song Song’s hair. Her tone was gentle. “Song Song, don’t overthink it. Mama and Mommy aren’t fighting. We’re just a bit busy today, so we haven’t talked much.”
Ming Yu also forced a slight smile, but she said nothing.
Song Song looked at Song Qingpei, then at Ming Yu. Her little face was full of doubt and dissatisfaction.
She muttered, “You guys are so childish, not even admitting it when you fight.”
Choked by her daughter’s words, Song Qingpei didn’t know how to respond for a moment.
She let out a helpless sigh and urged, “Alright, Song Song, hurry up and eat. Mama will take you to school in a bit.”
Although Song Song was still a bit reluctant, she obediently lowered her head and started eating.
As she ate, she occasionally looked up at Song Qingpei and Ming Yu. So annoying! How can I get Mama and Mommy to make up?
At the dining table, Ming Yu wanted to apologize several times.
But every time her gaze met Song Qingpei’s, Song Qingpei would seamlessly shift her eyes away, as if deliberately avoiding her. An indescribable sense of defeat surged in Ming Yu’s heart.
She gritted her teeth and ultimately swallowed the words that had reached her lips.
Thus, breakfast ended in silence once again.
Song Qingpei stood up, picked up Song Song’s school bag, and said softly, “Song Song, let’s go. Mama will take you to school.”
Song Song nodded, hopped off her chair, and ran to Ming Yu’s side. Tilting her little face up, she said, “Mommy, I’m leaving. You have to be good, okay? Don’t fight with Mama anymore.”
Ming Yu crouched down and gently hugged Song Song, her voice a little hoarse. “Okay. Song Song needs to be good too and listen to the teacher.”
Song Song nodded vigorously, then let go and ran to Song Qingpei’s side. Taking her hand, she followed her out of the house.
Ming Yu watched Song Qingpei and Song Song’s retreating figures gradually disappear from sight, a sudden wave of irritation washing over her heart.
She abruptly stood up, grabbed her coat, and strode out of the house.
She hadn’t finished her breakfast, hadn’t even taken a sip of water. Just like that, carrying a heart full of anger, she drove toward Military Headquarters.
Along the way, Song Qingpei’s cold eyes, mocking tone, and the sight of her leaving without hesitation constantly flashed through Ming Yu’s mind. They were like sharp thorns piercing deeply into her heart.
She wanted to apologize, wanted to explain, but every time she faced Song Qingpei’s coldness, she didn’t know where to begin.
Upon arriving at Military Headquarters, Ming Yu headed straight for her office.
Her expression was severe, a trace of suppressed fury in her eyes. The people around her saw her appearance and hastily made way, terrified of crossing her.
Ming Yu sat at her desk and picked up a document, trying to focus her attention on work.
However, Song Qingpei’s figure kept surfacing in her mind, making the irritability in her heart grow ever stronger.
She slammed the document onto the desk, stood up, walked to the window, and took a deep breath.
“Calm down!”
Ming Yu muttered to herself, pressing her fingers against her brow as she tried to drive those chaotic thoughts from her mind.
She knew now was not the time to be distracted by personal matters. The preparations for the advanced military academy had reached a critical juncture; any negligence could cause all their previous efforts to go to waste.
She forced herself to sit down and flipped open the document on her desk. Her gaze fell upon the recently approved candidate list. The names ‘Lin Qi’ and ‘Jiang Ze’ impressively caught her eye.
The corners of Ming Yu’s mouth curled up slightly, revealing a satisfied smile. These two were Zhan Nansheng’s right-hand men. She would inevitably fly into a rage over this, but Ming Yu didn’t care.
In this game of power, she had to win.
Just as her anger was finally somewhat alleviated by this, the office door was suddenly shoved open with a loud crash.
Ming Yu looked up to see Zhan Nansheng storming in aggressively, her face livid, her eyes burning with fury.
“Ming Yu! You actually dared to transfer Lin Qi and Jiang Ze away?!”
Zhan Nansheng snapped at her, clearly pushed to the absolute limit of her anger.
Ming Yu’s reaction, however, was exceptionally calm. She slowly closed the document in her hand, looked up, and met Zhan Nansheng with a cold gaze. Her tone was casual. “Lieutenant General Zhan, this is an official appointment by Military Headquarters. Do you have an objection?”
Provoked by her indifferent attitude, Zhan Nansheng grew even more furious. Her voice was practically squeezed through her teeth. “Ming Yu, don’t think I don’t know what you’re plotting! Lin Qi and Jiang Ze are my people; on what grounds are you transferring them?!”
Ming Yu slightly raised an eyebrow, a mocking smile curling the corners of her lips. “Lieutenant General Zhan, Military Headquarters appointments are determined by ability and need, not personal relationships. Lin Qi and Jiang Ze’s abilities are indispensable for the preparations of the advanced military academy. Transferring them is for the sake of the big picture.”
“The big picture?” Zhan Nansheng sneered, her eyes full of sarcasm. “Ming Yu, spare me the high-sounding rhetoric! You think I don’t know you want to weaken my influence? You’re using public office to avenge private grudges!”
Ming Yu’s expression remained calm. She slowly stood up, resting her hands on the desk, and looked straight at Zhan Nansheng. Her tone carried an unquestionable toughness. “Lieutenant General Zhan, if you object to the appointment, you can go appeal to Marshal Lin. But until then, please respect the decision of Military Headquarters.”
Choked by her words, Zhan Nansheng’s face grew even uglier.
She gritted her teeth, trying to suppress the fury in her heart, and her tone softened slightly. “Ming Yu, there’s no need for us to make things so tense. I can give you Lin Qi, but you must leave Jiang Ze with me.”
Hearing this, Ming Yu shook her head. “The appointment has already been issued; it cannot be changed. If you have a problem with it, you should still go speak to Marshal Lin.”
Zhan Nansheng’s face instantly turned livid. She violently slapped the desk. “Ming Yu, don’t go too far! You think just because you have the Marshal backing you, you can do whatever you please? Let me tell you, this isn’t over!”
Ming Yu was completely unmoved by her anger.
Sitting back in her chair, her tone was cold. “Lieutenant General Zhan, if you have no other business, please leave. I still have work to handle.”
Thoroughly enraged by her impervious attitude, Zhan Nansheng spun around and strode toward the door. Before leaving, she viciously threw down a final sentence: “Ming Yu, you just wait!”
As the office door slammed shut heavily, Ming Yu’s face remained as placid as water.
She leaned back in her chair, her fingers unconsciously tapping the desk, while Song Qingpei’s figure surfaced in her mind once again.
For some reason, even when facing such provocation from Zhan Nansheng, she could remain as calm as ever. Yet every time she faced Song Qingpei, she would always lose her reason and become unlike herself.
Ming Yu couldn’t help but sigh deeply, murmuring in a low voice, “Song Qingpei…”
She shook her head, trying to drive those chaotic thoughts from her mind and refocus her attention on work.
However, no matter how hard she tried, Song Qingpei’s figure refused to be banished. Even worse, that constantly surging heat within her body was starting to stir once more.
Her heat was returning.
Even though she was accustomed to this cyclical torment, every onset still felt unbearable.
Ming Yu’s body trembled slightly, fine beads of sweat seeping from her forehead. The pen in her hand quivered from her excessive grip. She immediately pulled a blood preparation syringe from her drawer and, without hesitation, pierced the needle into her gland.
As the blood was injected, that burning sensation gradually receded a little, and her breathing steadied significantly.
Ming Yu closed her eyes, leaning back against the chair, and felt the restlessness within her body slowly subside.
She knew this was only temporary relief. The torment of her heat would continue for several days, but she no longer had the time to worry about it.
The establishment of the advanced military academy was imminent, and the work at Military Headquarters had piled up like a mountain. She had to finish processing these matters as soon as possible.
Ming Yu sat up straight again, tossed the used syringe aside, and threw herself back into work.
At noon, there was a light knock on the office door.
Ming Yu looked up and said, “Come in.”
Song Xihan pushed the door open and entered, her face bearing its usual gentle smile.
She closed the door casually, walked up to Ming Yu’s desk, and leaned forward slightly with her hands resting on the tabletop. Her tone carried a hint of teasing. “I saw Zhan Nansheng storming off earlier. Her face was so ugly it looked like she wanted to kill someone. What did you do to her this time?”
Ming Yu looked up, her gaze still calm, though a faint trace of exhaustion showed in the depths of her eyes.
She closed the document in her hand and said indifferently, “Nothing much. I just transferred her right-hand men over.”
Song Xihan raised an eyebrow, a flash of surprise crossing her eyes, before she laughed. “You really are ruthless. Lin Qi and Jiang Ze are her most capable subordinates, and you just cut off both her right-hand men in one fell swoop. No wonder she was stomping mad.”
Ming Yu didn’t reply; she merely curled the corners of her mouth slightly, revealing a faint smile.
Her gaze fell on the documents on the desk, seemingly a bit absent-minded.
Noticing her unusual state, Song Xihan reined in her smile, stepped to her side, and asked softly, “What’s wrong? You look weighed down by something.”
Ming Yu stayed silent for a moment, her fingers unconsciously tapping the desk, as if weighing how to speak.
After a long while, she looked up, a trace of hesitation in her eyes. “Xihan, how is your relationship… with Murong Ruixue?”
Song Xihan froze, clearly not expecting Ming Yu to suddenly ask about Murong Ruixue.
She blinked, asking with some confusion, “Why the sudden interest in Murong Ruixue?”
Ming Yu’s expression grew a bit unnatural. She lowered her head, her fingers gently rubbing the edge of the document, and her voice dropped. “Nothing. Just… asking casually.”
Song Xihan stared at her for a few seconds before realization dawned on her. A meaningful smile lifted the corners of her mouth. “Oh—I get it. This is about Song Qingpei, right?”
Ming Yu’s body stiffened slightly. She subconsciously raised a hand to touch her lips, trying to conceal her discomfort.
However, this action drew Song Xihan’s attention to the faint bite mark near her lips.
Song Xihan’s eyes instantly lit up, as if discovering something fascinating. Her tone was teasing. “Tsk tsk, looks like things were pretty intense between you two last night, huh? Even left a bite mark.”
Ming Yu frowned deeply, a hint of irritation in her voice. “Xihan, don’t talk nonsense!”
Song Xihan wasn’t intimidated in the least. Instead, her smile grew even more meaningful. “Talking nonsense? Then what’s with the bite mark on your lip? Don’t tell me you accidentally bit yourself.”
Ming Yu’s face darkened further. “It’s none of your business.”
Seeing this, Song Xihan quickly reined in her smile. “Alright, I won’t tease you. But what exactly is going on between you and Song Qingpei?”
Ming Yu was silent for a moment before saying softly, “She doesn’t like me. Even less is she willing to mark me.”
Hearing this, Song Xihan couldn’t help but freeze.
She had always assumed that Ming Yu looked down on Song Qingpei, which was why she only recognized Song Song back into the Ming family and hadn’t given Song Qingpei any official status. She never expected it wasn’t like that at all.
Instantly intrigued, she gossiped under the guise of concern, “How could that be? You two already have a child; how could she not want to mark you?”
Ming Yu gave a bitter laugh, her voice holding a touch of self-deprecation. “So what if we have a child? She doesn’t have me in her heart at all. For me… she only has disgust, no feelings.”
Seeing her looking so trapped by love, Song Xihan seemed utterly dumbfounded.
In her memory, her good friend had always been a woman of few words, acting like a heartless god of slaughter. When had she ever shown such romantic sentimentality? Instantly, she became even more curious. Just what kind of divine figure is this Song Qingpei? I definitely need to properly meet her someday.
In her heart, Song Xihan secretly enjoyed her friend’s predicament, but outwardly, she caringly asked for the details.
By the time she had coaxed out the entire course of events, she felt sick all over and suddenly began to understand Song Qingpei. It wasn’t that the other woman was formidable; it was simply that Ming Yu had acted terribly. If she had been humiliated like that… not slaughtering the other party would be proof of a good temper.
But her friend had been so utterly ruthless—if she genuinely didn’t like her, that would be one thing. But to act like that and then realize she still had feelings for her? If this wasn’t courting death, what was?
Song Xihan was silent for a moment before sighing softly. “So what do you plan to do? Just keep it at a stalemate like this forever?”
Ming Yu shook her head, her voice laced with helplessness. “I don’t know. I want her to willingly mark me, but… I don’t know how to make her willing.”
Song Xihan looked at her and lit a candle in her heart1.
“…If it’s just about getting her to mark you willingly.” She pondered for a moment before a wicked smile suddenly lifted the corners of her mouth. She said mysteriously, “Actually… I have a distant younger cousin who’s very good at handling this sort of thing.”
Ming Yu turned to look at her, a hint of confusion in her eyes. “Your cousin?”
Song Xihan blinked, her smile growing even more mysterious. “When you’re done working, I’ll take you to see her. She’s an ‘expert’ in this field.”
Ming Yu frowned, clearly half-doubting Song Xihan’s words. “What are you talking about?”
But Song Xihan offered no further explanation. She simply patted her shoulder and said with a smile, “You’ll know when the time comes. For now, let’s discuss the military academy first.”
Although Ming Yu was doubtful, seeing that Song Xihan wasn’t willing to say more, she didn’t press the matter.
She sat back down in her chair, picked up the document on the desk, and refocused her attention on work. Song Xihan sat on the sofa to the side, flipping through the documents in her hands, occasionally looking up to exchange a few words with Ming Yu.
Time ticked by. The atmosphere in the office gradually grew quiet and heavy.
Finally, Ming Yu finished processing the last document. She looked up and let out a long sigh of relief.
Rubbing her slightly aching temples, she stood up, walked to the window, and gazed at the scenery outside, a touch of weariness in her eyes.
Song Xihan put down the document in her hands, walked over to her side, and asked softly, “Done working?”
Ming Yu nodded, her voice a bit hoarse. “Mhm, just about.”
“Then let’s go. I’ll take you somewhere good.”
By the time the two went downstairs, the sky had grown dark. The streetlamps outside the Military Headquarters building lit up one by one, reflecting on the hovercar windows and casting mottled light and shadow.
In high spirits, Song Xihan pulled Ming Yu into the car, a mysterious smile on her face.
“Where exactly are you taking me?” Ming Yu sat in the passenger seat, her brows furrowed, her tone carrying a hint of impatience.
She was tired enough today and really didn’t want to be dragged around by Song Xihan anymore.
Song Xihan just smiled mysteriously, her tone light and brisk. “Don’t be in a rush. You’ll know when we get there.”
Ming Yu glanced at her, feeling a vague sense of unease.
Song Xihan had always been someone who didn’t play by the rules. Who knew what she was plotting this time? But thinking of Song Qingpei’s cold eyes, a trace of expectation rose in Ming Yu’s heart again.
Perhaps Song Xihan really could help her?
The hovercar sped through the night sky, passing through the bustling downtown area, and finally stopped on a somewhat secluded street.
Through the car window, Ming Yu saw an exquisitely decorated shop not far ahead. Soft pink lights flickered on the signboard, faintly illuminating the words “Omega Exclusive Adult Toys”.
Ming Yu’s face instantly darkened. “Song Xihan, what are you bringing me to a place like this for?”
Song Xihan just smiled carelessly, reaching out to pat Ming Yu’s shoulder. “Don’t be so tense. This is my cousin’s shop. It’s full of all the latest popular good stuff. Just go in and take a look. It’ll definitely drive any Alpha wild.”
Ming Yu’s face looked even worse as she refused, “I’m not interested.”
With quick reflexes, Song Xihan grabbed her wrist, a sense of urgency in her tone. “Hey, don’t leave! We’re already here; taking a look won’t kill you. Besides, don’t you want to win over Song Qingpei? This is a great opportunity.”
Ming Yu struggled internally for a moment before finally being half-pushed, half-dragged into the shop by Song Xihan.
As soon as the shop door was pushed open, a faint fragrance blew against her face. The air was permeated with an ambiguous atmosphere.
“Welcome!”
A crisp voice came from behind the counter. Immediately after, a petite Omega girl with a sweet face walked over briskly.
She wore an enthusiastic smile. As her gaze swept over Ming Yu, a flash of stunned admiration crossed her eyes.
“Cousin, who is this?” the girl asked with a smile, her tone carrying a bit of curiosity.
Song Xihan patted Ming Yu’s shoulder and introduced with a smile, “This is my friend, Ming Yu. She’s run into some relationship problems lately, so I brought her here to learn a thing or two2.”
The girl immediately revealed an understanding expression and enthusiastically took Ming Yu’s hand. “So it’s Miss Ming, please come in! I’m Song Xihan’s cousin, Song Xiaorou. You can just call me Xiaorou.”
Overwhelmed by her enthusiasm, Ming Yu forced a slight smile. “Hello.”
“Hello, Miss Ming.”
After greeting Ming Yu, Song Xiaorou turned her gaze to Song Xihan.
Song Xihan immediately spoke with perfect tact: “Xiaorou, take good care of my friend. I’ll go wait in the car.”
“Miss Ming, rest assured. I receive Omega customers one-on-one here, so your privacy is absolutely guaranteed,” Song Xiaorou said as she led Ming Yu to a lounge area in the shop and gestured for her to sit. She then turned to pour a cup of hot tea and handed it to Ming Yu. “Miss Ming, have some tea first and relax. If you need anything, just tell me. The items here can definitely help solve your problems.”
Ming Yu accepted the teacup, her fingers trembling slightly. She felt so embarrassed she practically wanted to flee on the spot.
She took a sip of tea, trying to calm her emotions, but her gaze involuntarily swept over the surrounding shelves.
The lighting in the shop was soft, and the shelves were lined with all sorts of adult products, from revealing lingerie to bizarre little props. The dazzling array made Ming Yu’s face flush with even deeper embarrassment.
Seemingly noticing her unease, Song Xiaorou smiled and sat across from her. Her tone was gentle. “Miss Ming, there’s no need to be nervous. The things I have here are all meant to help Omegas and their partners enhance their relationship. You don’t need to feel embarrassed.”
Ming Yu’s fingers unconsciously rubbed the rim of the teacup. Her voice was so low it was almost inaudible. “I… I don’t know how to say it.”
Song Xiaorou smiled, her tone carrying a bit of encouragement. “It’s okay, you can take your time. I’ve met many Omegas like you. They were also very shy at first, but in the end, they all found a method that suited them.”
Ming Yu fell silent for a moment before finally speaking up. “My partner… is a low-grade Alpha, and her pheromones are rather faint. I… I said some harsh things and hurt her. Now she’s… very cold to me.”
Hearing this, a flash of understanding passed through Song Xiaorou’s eyes as she gave a gentle nod. “So that’s how it is. Low-grade Alphas are already quite insecure, afraid they won’t be able to satisfy their partners. So you need to focus on encouragement and avoid tearing her down. You need to be proactive, bold, and passionate. That way, your partner will become more impassioned too.”
Ming Yu’s face flushed slightly. Gripping the teacup tightly, she asked with a trace of hesitation, “What… what should I do?”
Song Xiaorou smiled, stood up, and walked over to the shelves. She casually picked up a piece of black lace lingerie and held it out to Ming Yu. “You can start with these little things. For example, this lingerie is sexy but not too revealing. It’s very suitable for a first-timer like you.”
Ming Yu stared at the nearly transparent lingerie. Her face instantly burned red, and her fingers trembled slightly. “This… this is too…”
Song Xiaorou just laughed carelessly. “This is nothing. In a relationship, happiness is the most important thing.”
Ming Yu struggled internally for a moment before ultimately shaking her head. “No way.”
Seeing this, Song Xiaorou didn’t force her. She turned back and grabbed a few relatively conservative items from the shelf, handing them to Ming Yu. “Then what about these? These are all entry-level, nothing too exaggerated.”
Ming Yu accepted the items with slightly trembling fingers, feeling so embarrassed she practically wanted to bolt immediately.
She stood up in a hurry. “Just these, then. I… I’ll be leaving now.”
Seeing her like this, Song Xiaorou didn’t push her any further. She smiled and said, “Alright, Miss Ming. I’ll bag these up for you right now. If you need anything else, you can come find me anytime.”
Ming Yu hastily thanked her and left the shop as if fleeing for her life.
As an Alpha, Song Xihan knew where to draw the line. She chuckled softly and said, “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”
The hovercar started up again. Leaning against the seat, Ming Yu was struck by a complex surge of emotions.
She felt she had truly gone mad!
By the time she returned home, Song Qingpei and Song Song had already gone to sleep.
Ming Yu walked into her bedroom, tightly clutching the shopping bag in her hand, her heart hammering like a drum.
She had never imagined there would be a day she’d buy these things, much less that she’d actually wear them.
Her cheeks were boiling hot, as if kissed by fire. With trembling fingers, she opened the shopping bag, and the items inside instantly made her wish she could crawl into a hole.
Especially that piece of lingerie. It was gossamer-thin, essentially just a few fine strings attached to a pitifully small amount of fabric.
The moment Ming Yu’s fingers brushed against the soft fabric, she jerked her hand back as if she had been burned. She threw the lingerie to the side and took a deep breath, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.
“What am I doing…”
She murmured softly, her voice tinged with remorse and shame.
However, memories of when she had amnesia involuntarily surfaced in her mind.
Song Qingpei had once bought her similar lingerie. Deeply embarrassed and annoyed, Ming Yu had scolded her. Song Qingpei had immediately humbled herself to coax her, and from then on, she had never made such a request again.
Ming Yu’s heart gave a violent tremor. Her fingers unconsciously caressed the lingerie she had tossed aside.
Could it be… Song Qingpei actually liked this sort of thing?
This thought flashed through her mind. She couldn’t help but bite her lip. After wrestling with herself for a moment, she finally reached out and picked up the lingerie.
Her fingers trembled slightly. When her fingertips touched the soft fabric, it was as if an electric current shot through her entire body. She took a deep breath, then slowly undressed and changed into the nearly transparent lingerie.
Once it was on, Ming Yu didn’t even dare to look in the mirror.
Her cheeks were scalding hot. She gripped the edge of her robe tightly, as if that would cover up the shame and nervousness in her heart. She hurriedly threw on a long robe in an attempt to hide the lingerie that made her feel so thoroughly disgraced.
Yet even wearing the robe, her body continued to tremble slightly.
Stimulated by her actions, her pheromones had grown even denser. A cloying, sweet fragrance filled the air, as if silently trying to seduce something.
Ming Yu bit her lip, doing her best to steady her breathing. Gathering her courage, she walked toward Song Qingpei’s room.
She stopped. With slightly shaking fingers, she reached up and knocked lightly on the door.
“Song Qingpei…”
Her voice was so low it could hardly be heard, laced with hesitation and unease.
There was no response from inside the room. Ming Yu’s heart sank heavily.
Biting her lip, she knocked again, raising her voice slightly. “Song Qingpei, are you asleep?”
Still no response.
Ming Yu’s heart beat faster. Clutching the edges of her robe tightly, a complex, indescribable feeling welled up within her—a mix of disappointment and a burden-lifting sense of relief.
Thank goodness I don’t have to humiliate myself like this.
She turned to leave, but completely unexpectedly, the door was suddenly thrown open at that exact moment.
Song Qingpei’s gaze landed on Ming Yu. Knowing her heat had returned, she said straightforwardly, “Let’s go. To your room.”
Ming Yu’s heart gave a violent lurch. Her fingers dug tightly into her robe, her cheeks burning so hotly they felt like they would catch fire.
She stood at the doorway, her feet seemingly nailed to the floor, unable to take another step forward.
“No. I… I have something I want to say to you.” Her voice was so faint it was barely audible, carrying a slight tremor.
Song Qingpei frowned slightly. “What is it?”
Ming Yu’s heart hammered faster. Mustering her courage, she stepped in front of Song Qingpei and halted. Her slightly trembling fingers reached up and gently caught hold of Song Qingpei’s hand.
Song Qingpei’s body stiffened slightly, a flash of surprise crossing her eyes.
Ming Yu’s heart pounded like thunder. Clasping Song Qingpei’s hand tightly, she lowered her head and whispered, “Song Qingpei, I… I know I said many harsh things before and hurt you. I… I’m so sorry.”
Song Qingpei hadn’t expected her to apologize, and complex emotions flashed through her eyes.
She scrutinized Ming Yu, a hint of uncertainty in her tone. “You don’t need to play these tricks. I will soothe you during your heat according to our agreement. It’s a transaction between us; I will abide by it.”
Ming Yu’s heart sank. She never expected Song Qingpei would see her this way.
But she was unwilling to just give up. She hesitated for a split second before suddenly taking a step forward and wrapping her arms around Song Qingpei’s waist.
Pressing her cheek against Song Qingpei’s neck, her voice hitched with a sob as she finally blurted out the words in her heart: “Song Qingpei, can… can we go back to how things were?”
Song Qingpei froze. Lowering her eyes, she said, “Ming Yu, the Mengmeng of the past is already dead.”
This was the first time Song Qingpei had mentioned the name Ming Yu used during her amnesia—”Mengmeng”.
Ming Yu’s heart felt as though it had been violently torn apart by something. The tears she had held back for so long could no longer be contained. They slid down her cheeks and dripped onto Song Qingpei’s shoulder. Her voice was choked and humble.
“But… I don’t want to lose you. Song Qingpei, I don’t want to lose you…”
Ever since Ming Yu recovered her memory, Song Qingpei had never seen her cry. Facing such a pathetic, subservient Ming Yu, Song Qingpei felt a trace of struggle flash through her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by reason.
She tried to end the conversation. “Ming Yu, let’s leave it at this. Let’s save some dignity for each other.”
“No!”
She was unwilling. She was unwilling to be pushed away by Song Qingpei just like this, unwilling for their relationship to be reduced to nothing but a cold transaction. She had to keep Song Qingpei, no matter the method…
With trembling fingers, Ming Yu unbuttoned the first button.
Her movements were very slow, as if every minute shift was a battle against her inner shame and struggle.
Ming Yu’s cheeks were already burning red, and the tips of her ears were dyed a faint pink. Even her neck was flushed with a subtle rosiness. Her eyes remained stubbornly lowered, not daring to look up at Song Qingpei’s expression, as if just one glance would drain her of all her courage.
Her fingers continued downward, unfastening the second button, then the third.
When her fingertips brushed her own skin, she could even feel a faint shudder.
With every button undone, her heartbeat quickened a fraction, as if an invisible hand were gripping her heart tightly, making it almost impossible to breathe.
The front of her robe gradually parted, revealing the lingerie beneath. In the dim light, her fair skin appeared exceptionally fragile.
Startled by this bold behavior, Song Qingpei felt Ming Yu had simply gone mad.
The usually aloof and unsmiling Admiral was currently acting out such absurdity right in front of her. She looked at Ming Yu with a complex gaze. “Are you crazy? Do you know what you’re doing?”
Ming Yu’s body trembled slightly, her fingers pausing on the final button.
Her voice was so low it could barely be heard, laced with choked sobs and humility. “I know… what I’m doing. Qingpei, anything you wanted Mengmeng to do before, I can do it too… Please, can we go back to how we were?”
Song Qingpei’s mind was in total chaos. She had never imagined Ming Yu would go this far to win her back. But for someone whose heart had already died, this was nothing but a nuisance.
“Ming Yu, things between us… ended a long time ago. You don’t need to go to such lengths for me.”
As Song Qingpei spoke, she grabbed Ming Yu’s shoulders, trying to push her away.
“No, they haven’t.”
Ming Yu’s body clung to her like a vine. No matter how hard she pushed, she couldn’t break free.
Ming Yu’s skin was scalding hot, the burning temperature transmitting through the thin clothing. Song Qingpei felt her rationality crumbling bit by bit. Her pheromones began to quietly permeate the air uncontrollably, carrying an irrepressible restlessness.
Song Qingpei never thought she would have a reaction to Ming Yu’s pheromones under such circumstances.
Ming Yu also noticed Song Qingpei’s change. A flash of joy crossed her eyes, and she immediately grew bolder. Her fingers gently stroked Song Qingpei’s cheek. Her fingertips trembled slightly, but they trailed downward with determination until they landed on the side of her neck.
Her scorching breath puffed against Song Qingpei’s ear, carrying a flustering heat.
Ming Yu’s voice was hoarse and soft, carrying a bewitching allure. “Qingpei… Do you feel it? You’re craving me too, aren’t you?”
Song Qingpei’s fingers dug tightly into Ming Yu’s shoulders. She knew she ought to push Ming Yu away, ought to stay clear-headed, but her body betrayed her will.
Her pheromones grew increasingly intense, tangling with Ming Yu’s scent.
Stimulated by the pheromones, Ming Yu’s craving surged even stronger. Her lips landed on the side of Song Qingpei’s neck. The heat of her fingertips felt charged with electricity, causing Song Qingpei’s heart to give a violent shudder. Her fingers tightened abruptly, her nails almost digging into Ming Yu’s flesh.
Yet Ming Yu acted as if she couldn’t feel the pain, hugging Song Qingpei even tighter instead.
She wished for nothing more than to drown in her embrace—to be kissed, to be satisfied, to be filled…
Under Ming Yu’s forceful offensive, Song Qingpei’s rationality gradually crumbled, her mental defenses collapsing bit by bit.
Ming Yu’s lips slowly trailed upward to land on Song Qingpei’s earlobe, giving it a gentle nip.
Song Qingpei’s body jolted violently. She squeezed the words out through her teeth: “Ming Yu… that’s… enough…”
“No… it’s not enough.”
Ming Yu didn’t stop. Her fingers gently caressed Song Qingpei’s waistline, radiating a flustering tenderness.
Her voice was hoarse and soft, tinged with a plea. “Qingpei… let me get closer to you, okay? I… I want you. I want to completely belong to you.”
At that moment, Song Qingpei’s rationality finally shattered completely.
