Top-Tier Omega: Chasing Alpha to the Crematorium – Chapter 52
by Little PandaAdmiral’s Social Death Scene
Ming Yu was dying of shame. In her heart, she cursed Song Xihan, the instigator of this chaos, a thousand times over, silently vowing that once she returned to Military Headquarters, she would have the woman dispatched to a remote star system for a few months.
Propping her chin on one hand, she stole a glance at Song Qingpei beside her. Song Qingpei had a hand over her face, leaning back against the chair, appearing to be asleepβor perhaps merely resting her eyes with eyes closed.
Hesitating for a long while, Ming Yu parted her lips, attempting to speak. “Qing⦔
But the words died on her tongue, replaced by a surge of reluctance. After all, it was rare for Song Qingpei to bring up something so suggestive⦠Even if she was being laughed at, it was better than Song Qingpei treating her with cold indifference.
Ultimately, Ming Yu simply abandoned all struggle in self-defeat. Since she had already lost enough face, what was one more time?
Little did she know, while her heart was in tumult, Song Qingpei was genuinely asleep.
Attempting to hack into the ‘Yuyue’ mech’s AI brain earlier had consumed a tremendous amount of her mental strength. Coupled with the alcohol, the anesthetic effects ensured she slept soundly. By the time she woke, the hover car had already stopped at its destination.
“Qingpei, Qingpei⦔
She roused to the sound of a blurry call. She opened her eyes in dazed confusion, her hoarse voice laced with the fumes of alcohol. “This is⦔ Before she could finish the sentence, she reacted. “We’re here so soon?”
Despite having done plenty of psychological preparation, Ming Yu couldn’t help but feel her ears flush crimson. She replied in a muffled voice, “We’re here.” Immediately after, she changed the subject with lightning speed. “I see you’re quite tired today, and your mental state doesn’t seem great. Why don’t we go back and rest first?”
“Mm, I am a bit tired,” Song Qingpei answered casually.
Seeing her agree so easily, Ming Yu couldn’t tell if she was more relieved or disappointed.
She only felt that her self-esteem, already shattered into fragments, had been temporarily salvaged. She hurriedly entered a new destination, trying to flee this place of her embarrassment.
Song Qingpei pressed her brow bone wearily, then looked out the hover car window. By chance, she caught sight of a glaring, flamboyant sign outsideβ
γOmega Exclusive Adult Toysγ
She froze for a moment. Her first reaction was that the adult industry on Planet Lan was surprisingly developed; she could stumble upon such a massive shop just by stopping at random. But then she looked up to speak to Ming Yu and saw the lingering redness at the nape of her neck.
In a flash of inspiration, a thought she could hardly believe struck her.
Could the place Ming Yu was bringing her be this shop?
In an instant, images of Ming Yu wearing practically nothingβsexy lingerie, cat ears, a cat tail, and that box of unspeakable itemsβflashed through her mind like a revolving lantern. Combined with Song Xihan’s mysterious and teasing words from earlier that day, everything suddenly made sense.
She really was⦠too slow on the uptake.
Song Qingpei found the misunderstanding both hilarious and exasperating. She couldn’t help but prop her forehead against her hand, sighing and laughing.
Hearing her laughter, Ming Yu, who had her back turned, instantly tensed up. She didn’t turn around for a long time, her voice floating vaguely. “Alright, let’s go.”
“Wait.” Song Qingpei suddenly spoke up.
Ming Yu’s spine grew even stiffer. Song Qingpei, on the other hand, found this increasingly amusing.
She wouldn’t normally do something so mischievous, but perhaps due to the alcohol, she felt somewhat uninhibited. She deliberately slowed her tone, her voice husky and lingering. “Since we’re already hereβ¦ let’s go down and take a look.”
Ming Yu whipped around, panic mixed with shock in her eyes. “β¦Didn’t you say you were tired and wanted to go back?”
“Suddenly not tired anymore.”
Ming Yu: β¦
“Let’s go.”
Song Qingpei stood up. Because she rose too abruptly, she staggered uncontrollably, barely managing to steady herself by gripping the seatback. It was obvious she was somewhat paralyzed by alcohol and quite drunk.
Ming Yu hurried forward to support her. “Are you okay? You’re definitely drunk.”
Drunk people generally don’t admit to being drunk, but Song Qingpei didn’t rush to deny it.
She took the opportunity to rest her hand on Ming Yu’s shoulder, leaning half her body against her. “My body is a bit out of control,” she confessed honestly, “but my consciousnessβ¦ is very clear.”
Her warm breath, tinged with alcohol, brushed against Ming Yu’s ear. Ming Yu shook her head uncomfortably and persuaded her helplessly, “Qingpei, you really drank too much. Let’s go home and rest, okay?”
The answer, of course, was no.
Song Qingpei dragged Ming Yu out of the car, asking deliberately, “Where are we going?”
It was simply asking a question she knew the answer to.
Ming Yu glared at her in annoyance. “You don’t know?”
“I don’t. Xihan didn’t tell me.” Song Qingpei feigned ignorance.
“Youβ¦ Didn’t you say Xihan told you everything?”
“Xihan told me to say that. I didn’t expect the Admiral to be so⦔ Song Qingpei paused, then swapped ‘easy to fool’ for, “β¦honest.”
“You two are trulyβ¦ partners in crime1.”
Ming Yu was so angry her face flushed red. She shoved Song Qingpei hard, nearly knocking her over. Afraid the woman might actually fall, she quickly grabbed her arm to steady her, but instead, Song Qingpei pulled her entire body into an embrace.
While they were tussling, Song Xiaorou, who had just walked to the shop door, spotted them. She greeted them warmly.
“Oh, isn’t this Miss Ming? Why aren’t you coming in?”
Facing Song Xiaorou’s enthusiastic welcome, Ming Yu felt her ears burning hot. She managed to force a strained smile. “β¦We were just passing by. We were just about to leave.”
“Since you’re already here⦔ Song Xiaorou seemed oblivious to Ming Yu’s awkwardness. Her gaze shifted to Song Qingpei, who was half-leaning on Ming Yu, and a flicker of curiosity and amusement sparked in her eyes. “Is this your Alpha? Come on in and take a look.”
Although Song Qingpei was a bit tipsy, she maintained a polite smile and nodded slightly in greeting.
Seeing this, Ming Yu hurriedly said, “Qingpei, this shop doesn’t welcome Alphas. Let’s just go back.”
Hearing this, a look of regret appeared on Song Qingpei’s face. “Is that so? What a pity⦔
Watching a potential big spender about to leave, Song Xiaorou’s eyes darted around, and she quickly proposed, “There happens to be no Omega customers in the shop today. How about I close temporarily so you two can look around? Anyway, we’re all family here; no need to be so reserved.”
Ming Yu refused immediately. “No need, no need. We really were just passing by. We won’t disturb you.”
However, Song Xiaorou’s enthusiasm was not so easily dismissed. She smiled, her tone obsequious. “Miss Ming, your Alpha looks quite interested too. Why not come in and take a look? You’re my cousin’s friend, and you’re an old customer of mine. I’ll give you a discount.”
The phrase ‘old customer’ made Ming Yu’s face feel as if it were dripping blood.
To make matters worse, Song Qingpei deliberately leaned close to her ear and used a drawling tone to say, “Old customer~ Since the owner is so enthusiastic, let’s go in and take a look.”
Ming Yu glared at Song Qingpei.
Song Qingpei simply laughed softly, then pulled her into the shop.
Seeing the big spender enter, Song Xiaorou immediately closed the shop door to serve the two of them exclusively.
The lighting inside was soft, and a faint fragrance permeated the air. The shelves on all sides were stocked with a dazzling array of adult toys, so many it made one’s eyes swim.
Ming Yu didn’t dare to look at Song Qingpei. She felt her cheeks burning and her heart racing.
She wanted to keep her distance from Song Qingpei but was afraid the woman would fall. Caught between shame and annoyance, she had to hold onto Song Qingpei tightly, urging in a low voice, “Qingpei, you really drank too much. Let’s just go.”
Song Xiaorou saw Ming Yu’s restraint and quickly offered a suggestion to her valuable customer. “There’s a self-selection area upstairs. Why don’t you two go up and take a look?”
“No need⦔
Ming Yu’s words were cut off directly by Song Qingpei. “Okay.”
Song Xiaorou obsequiously led the two of them upstairs, leaving them with, “Take your time choosing, no rush~” before closing the door.
In the entire self-selection area, only the two of them remained.
Ming Yu merely glanced around. It felt like she was being executed over and over again in front of Song Qingpei. The stupid things she had done in the past made her want to go back and slap herself a few times.
Song Qingpei, on the other hand, seemed interested in everything around her. Her gaze swept over the shelves, then she turned her head to look at Ming Yu, deliberately lowering her voice. “What are you nervous about? Isn’t the Admiral an old customer? You must be very experienced?”
Ming Yu was instantly furious and glared at her. “Youβ¦ That’s enough!”
Song Qingpei chuckled softly. Suddenly, her gaze stopped on a certain shelf.
She reached out and picked up a pair of fluffy cat ears, then turned around and pressed them directly onto Ming Yu’s head, her expression playful. “Exactly the same as what you bought beforeβ¦ And there’s a cat tail⦔
Ming Yu felt like she was going to faint. She hurriedly reached out to cover Song Qingpei’s mouth. “Don’t say it! Iβ¦ I was drunk then, I don’t remember anything!”
Song Qingpei took the opportunity to hold her hand, gently pulling it away, and pierced through her lie. “I was drunk too, but my consciousness was very clear. Admiral, you were using alcohol to bolster your courage⦔
Ming Yu was driven to the point of having nowhere to hide. Gritting her teeth, she stood on her tiptoes and kissed her, blocking Song Qingpei’s mouth to prevent her from saying another word.
Song Qingpei paused, then quickly took control, deepening the kiss.
Her palm gently cradled the back of Ming Yu’s head, while her other arm wrapped around Ming Yu’s waist, pulling her tight against her own body.
Ming Yu went soft from the kiss, barely able to stand. She could only hug Song Qingpei tightly.
Their breaths mingled, and the air around them seemed to grow scorching hot.
After a long while, Song Qingpei slowly released Ming Yu. Looking down at her trembling eyelashes, she pointed deliberately at the items on the shelf that made one blush. “Admiralβ¦ Why don’t you introduce them to me?”
Ming Yu gasped for breath, her gaze wandering. “Don’tβ¦ Don’t tease me. Let’s go home, I’m begging you⦔
If this continued, she really wouldn’t be able to go on living.
Finally, Song Qingpei nodded, her conscience pricking her. Still leaning against Ming Yu, she whispered in her ear, “Okay, let’s go home⦔
Ming Yu had just sighed in relief when she heard the rest of Song Qingpei’s sentence in her ear. “You wear it for me.”
Her footing slipped, and she was so angry she nearly shoved Song Qingpei up to the ceiling.
Ming Yu couldn’t endure it any longer. She dragged Song Qingpei downstairs, the flush on her face still not fading.
Seeing them come down, Song Xiaorou hurried over to greet them. “Did you like anything in the self-selection area? Do you need me to recommend anything?”
Ming Yu smoothed her clothes and said in a low voice, “No need. Weβ¦ we should be going.”
Song Xiaorou looked very regretful. “Nothing you liked?”
Since they were quite familiar, Ming Yu felt bad making her go to all that trouble for nothing. But she didn’t want to swallow this grievance either. Thinking that this whole mess was caused by Song Xihan, she gritted her teeth and said, “Swipe my card. Send it to my cousin. Remember, deliver it to the Military Headquarters Secretarial Office. No need for privacy protection.”
“Huh?” Song Xiaorou was stunned.
Ming Yu swiped five hundred thousand credits with the imposing air of a wealthy patron, looking at Song Xiaorou. “Is there a problem?”
Song Xiaorou shook her head hurriedly. “No, no, I’ll definitely get it done.”
As she spoke, she silently lit a candle for her cousin. How had she offended this god of wealth? To be this ruthlessβher cousin was going to suffer social death2 this time.
Watching from the side, Song Qingpei couldn’t help but laugh softly. Ming Yu glared at her. “What are you laughing at?”
“Nothing. Let’s go home.”
As they walked out of the shop, Song Xiaorou waved goodbye smilingly. “Welcome back anytime!”
Ming Yu couldn’t wait to drag Song Qingpei away, secretly swearing: She would never come here again in her life.
Once they were in the car, Song Qingpei’s energy wilted away almost instantly. She curled up in the seat, propping her forehead with one hand, looking completely listless and exhausted.
It was a case of SchrΓΆdinger’s tiredness.
Ming Yu couldn’t help but criticize her internally. She was quite energetic when she was tormenting me in the shop just now!
But thoughts were just thoughts. After resetting the autopilot destination, she sat down next to Song Qingpei without any backbone and asked softly, “Qingpei, how are you feeling?”
“Tired.” As Song Qingpei spoke, she leaned into Ming Yu’s arms. “Let me sleep for a bit.”
With that, she leaned on Ming Yu, closed her eyes, and her eyelashes trembled twice. Soon, her long, steady breathing signaled she had fallen into a deep sleep. Ming Yu looked at Song Qingpei’s face; her sleeping expression was serene and defenseless, her brows and eyes bearing a strong resemblance to Songsong. It seemed their daughter took more after her.
She couldn’t resist reaching out to stroke Song Qingpei’s cheek, murmuring, If only we could be like this forever.
However, this beautiful moment only lasted until they reached Shanshui Manor.
After arriving home, Ming Yu reluctantly woke Song Qingpei, trying to get her to bed for a proper rest.
But Song Qingpei, who had slept the whole way, had clearly recovered her energy quite well, though her intoxication hadn’t faded much. At first, she obediently let Ming Yu support her out of the car and through the door. They went up the stairs, but just as they were heading toward her bedroom, she suddenly stopped.
“To your room.”
She looked at Ming Yu with a half-smile, the aggression in her eyes undisguised.
Ming Yu’s mind buzzed. The words Song Qingpei had whispered in her ear earlier echoed in her mind: Go backβ¦ Wear it for me.
No, she couldn’t let Song Qingpei continue running wild just because she was drunk.
Ming Yu tried hard to keep a straight face. “Song Qingpei, go to your room and sleep. I need to rest too. I have to go to Military Headquarters tomorrow⦔
Before she could finish, Song Qingpei had already wrapped an arm around her waist, draped herself over her shoulder, leaned close to her gland, and gave it a lick. She whined in her ear like a rogue. “Go to your room, okay? Jiejie~Jiejie~”
Okay.
With just one ‘Jiejie’, the Admiral was befuddled.
She supported Song Qingpei back to her own room, only realizing what she was about to face once they were inside.
Song Qingpei half-reclined on the sofa by the bed, her eyes narrowed as she sized up Ming Yu undisguisedly, her expression somewhat improper. Ming Yu felt uneasy under her gaze.
This was different from when she actively seduced Song Qingpei. She hadn’t done anything, yet she felt even more ashamed than before, as if all her clothes had been stripped off. She couldn’t help but start to feel a bit heated.
Ming Yu couldn’t help but rejoice that she wasn’t in her heat period. Otherwise, she didn’t know how embarrassing it would be.
An improper voice interrupted her thoughts. “Take it off. I want to seeβ¦ that cat outfit.”
Song Qingpei looked at her with a smile playing on her lips, as if waiting for her next move.
Ming Yu glared at her fiercely. “In your dreams! How could I wear something like that?”
“You wore it.”
From her speech, it was evident that Song Qingpei’s words were becoming shorter; the alcohol had completely gone to her head.
“No!” Facing a drunkard, the Admiral lied with righteous indignation. “You’re drunk. Go to sleep.”
“Iβ¦ I saw it.” Song Qingpei mumbled as she fished out her Light-terminal and tapped randomly, pulling up a video she had filmed previously. She smiled smugly. “Look, I haveβ¦ evidence.”
Suddenly, a projection was cast directly onto the blank white wall. Face-reddening sounds came first:
“Jiejieβ¦ Look at me⦔
“The tail isn’t tied like that.”
“Then Jiejie teach me⦔
In the video, Ming Yu was naked, wearing cat ears, and clumsily trying to put on the cat tail. She looked innocent yet revealingly desirousβ¦
Boom!
Ming Yu’s face instantly turned blood-red. She went nearly mad, rushed over, and straddled Song Qingpei, grabbing the Light-terminal from her hand. As she snatched it, she roared in embarrassment and anger, “Song Qingpei, when did you film that!”
Song Qingpei’s head hurt from being shaken. She reached out to steady Ming Yu’s waist. “Stop moving, my head hurts!”
“You bastard!”
Although Ming Yu was still angry, she stopped. Taking advantage of Song Qingpei’s inattention, she snatched the Light-terminal away and deleted the socially-suicidal video completely clean.
Only then did she realize she was currently straddling Song Qingpei.
She panicked and wanted to get up, but looked down to discover that Song Qingpei had already closed her eyes and fallen asleep. In an instant, she felt like her anger had punched cottonβshe was both furious and amused.
Just a moment ago, she had been hesitating about whether to endure the shame and take the opportunity to let Song Qingpei fully mark her. But now, she wavered.
She wanted it more to happen naturally, when their love was at its peak.
Glancing at Song Qingpei on the bed, Ming Yu accepted her fate and got up. She went to the bathroom to get a towel and wipe Song Qingpei down briefly, then took a shower herself before lying exhaustedly on the bed.
Before falling asleep, she couldn’t help but think: Song Qingpei is definitely taking revenge on me for the last time I got drunk and tormented her.
The next day, the two of them tacitly woke up late.
Ming Yu rolled over in a daze, sensing someone beside her. She turned her head and saw Song Qingpei lying next to her, breathing steadily, seemingly still sound asleep.
Just then, the door was knocked on. Knock, knock, knock.
“Mama! Mommy! Wake up! The sun is tanning your butts!” Songsong’s crisp voice came from outside the door.
Ming Yu hurriedly pushed Song Qingpei. “Get up quickly, Songsong is here!”
Song Qingpei frowned, slowly opening her eyes. Her gaze was somewhat dazed.
She looked at Ming Yu, then at the surrounding environment, seemingly unable to react for a moment to why she was in Ming Yu’s room.
“Weβ¦ Last night⦔ She rubbed her temples, trying to sort out her thoughts.
Ming Yu glared at her fiercely. “You got drunk and insisted on sleeping in my room. Figure out the rest yourself⦔
Song Qingpei froze for a moment. Fragments of memories from last night flooded her mindβshe had drunk too much and lost control, insisting on dragging Ming Yu to that shop, and kept teasing Ming Yu about being an ‘old customer,’ making her wear the ‘cat outfit’β¦
She couldn’t help but cover her forehead, feeling both awkward and shocked. Did she go that crazy when she was drunk?
She couldn’t drink like this in the future. Thinking this, Song Qingpei couldn’t help but look at Ming Yu with a complex expression.
Ming Yu felt strange being looked at like that and said loudly, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and get dressed. Songsong is still waiting outside.”
They hurriedly straightened their clothes. When Ming Yu opened the door, Songsong was already standing there holding her little bear doll, blinking her big eyes. “Mama, Mommy, why are you still sleeping?”
Ming Yu crouched down and stroked Songsong’s head. “I’m sorry, Songsong. Mama and Mommy overslept today. Can you go down and wait for us? We’ll be right there.”
Songsong nodded obediently. “Okay, hurry up, or breakfast will get cold!”
After closing the door, Ming Yu turned to look at Song Qingpei and found she was already up, standing in front of the wardrobe organizing her clothes. Their gazes met, and an awkward silence filled the air.
Tacitly, neither spoke as they went downstairs together.
Seeing them come down, Songsong immediately raised her little spoon. “Mama, Mommy, you’re finally here! I’ve been waiting for ages!”
Ming Yu walked over quickly. “Sorry, Songsong. Mommy got up late. Let’s eat breakfast.”
Song Qingpei also sat down, picked up her milk, and took a sip to hide her awkwardness.
While eating, Ming Yu was still unwilling to let the matter drop and made a snide remark: “Some people make trouble when they’re drunk. It’s really a headache.”
Song Qingpei lowered her head, staying silent, just silently eating her breakfast.
Songsong looked at them curiously. “Mommy, what are you talking about?”
Ming Yu smiled and touched Songsong’s head. “Nothing. Mommy is just saying that drinking alcohol isn’t good. Songsong must not learn it when you grow up.”
Songsong nodded as if she understood. “Mm, Songsong won’t drink!”
Song Qingpei couldn’t help but give Ming Yu a knowing smile, as if to say, As if you don’t drink.
Ming Yu felt uncomfortable under her gaze and stopped talking, lowering her head to eat.
After breakfast, Song Qingpei volunteered to take Songsong to Kindergarten.
Ming Yu wanted to go with them, but Song Qingpei said, “You’re busy with the Military Academy. You should go to Military Headquarters early to handle things.”
Ming Yu nodded. “Alright. Be careful on the road.”
After dropping Songsong off at Kindergarten, Song Qingpei went straight to the company.
As soon as she walked into the laboratory, she saw Murong Ruixue standing in front of a mech, holding a data board with a furrowed brow.
“Ruixue-jie, good morning.” Song Qingpei walked over and greeted her.
Murong Ruixue looked up, a smile appearing on her face. “Qingpei, you’re here. How did you rest last night?”
Song Qingpei paused, then smiled. “Not bad.”
Murong Ruixue’s tone held a note of concern. “You’ve expended too much mental strength recently. You should rest more.”
“I’m fine. Are we continuing to repair the ‘Yuyue’ today?”
Song Qingpei asked proactively, trying to probe for some information.
But Murong Ruixue just glanced at her and said worriedly, “There’s no rush. Your health is important. The repairs on the ‘Yuyue’ can wait another two days.”
Afraid that appearing too eager would arouse suspicion, Song Qingpei could only nod and turn toward her own workbench.
Watching her leave, Murong Ruixue put down the data board, frowned, and dialed Li Man’s number.
“Li Man, it’s me.” Murong Ruixue lowered her voice. “The situation with Song Qingpeiβ¦ isn’t looking optimistic. Her relationship with Ming Yu seems to have eased up. Convincing her to come with us won’t be that easy.”
On the other end of the line, Li Man’s voice turned cold. “We’re running out of time. Wu Lan’s Federation Bureau of Investigation is already watching us. If Song Qingpei refuses to cooperate, we’ll have to use force.”
Murong Ruixue frowned. “You mean⦔
“On the day the Military Academy is officially established, while it’s crowded and chaotic, we’ll take her directly.” Li Man’s tone was filled with determination.
Murong Ruixue fell silent for a moment, then finally nodded. “Okay, I’ll start preparing right away.”
After hanging up the phone, Murong Ruixue glanced at Song Qingpei, who was working. A flicker of guilt crossed her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by firmness. She was doing this for Song Qingpei’s own good too.
She had to know her true identity and the responsibility she bore.
