After Transmigrating into the Villain’s Cat, I Dominated the Entertainment Circle – Chapter 120

Sweet words
Lin Sifei tried her best to pull her hand back, but Luo Ke held it fast, her fingers turning red from the pressure.
The sound of footsteps grew louder. Her manager came running over in high heels and slapped their clasped hands apart.
Like a cow protecting its calf,1 the manager pulled Lin Sifei behind her. “President Luo, President Luo, thank you so much for liking our Feifei. We’ll see you again if there are opportunities to collaborate in the future. Our Feifei still has work to do, so we’ll be leaving now.”
She finished speaking and tried to pull Lin Sifei away, but Luo Ke reached out and blocked her.
“Is she really that busy?” Luo Ke frowned. “Artists need to rest, too. Don’t schedule so much work for her.”
“Yes, yes, we’re just about to go get some rest. We’ll be off now.” The manager’s face was wreathed in smiles as she reached out to pull at Luo Ke’s hand.
Luo Ke didn’t let go. Instead, she offered the ring in her other hand. “Then please accept this gift.”
The manager’s lips thinned, her expression a mix of wanting to laugh and cry. “President Luo, this…”
“It’s not a particularly expensive gift, don’t worry about it,” Luo Ke said, trying to reassure her, worried she thought it was too valuable.
This made the manager want to cry even more. Does this mean there will be even more expensive gifts in the future? No way. Although Lin Sifei is a rich second generation, she probably can’t afford to offend Luo Corporation.
“No, that’s not it, President Luo. Our Feifei likes boys.”
Luo Ke’s body stiffened slightly. She looked at Lin Sifei. “Is there someone you like?”
Lin Sifei shook her head reflexively. A small smile touched Luo Ke’s lips as she turned back to the manager. “Then there’s still a chance.”
She offered the ring to Lin Sifei again, and was again refused.
“You really don’t want it? Don’t be polite.”
Lin Sifei bit her lip and looked at her. “Your behavior right now is a lot like those people who try to keep a lover. If that’s what you’re thinking, then give up. I’m not that kind of person.”
“That wasn’t my intention.”
“Then don’t do things that cause misunderstandings.” Lin Sifei pouted and tugged on her manager’s arm. “We’re leaving.”
Luo Ke watched her retreating back and tapped her own forehead in frustration before taking out her phone to message her mother.
【It didn’t work. She misunderstood and thinks I want to be her sugar mommy.】
Luo Ke’s mother was exasperated. Hearing her daughter’s description, she felt something was off, but then she recalled that this was how she herself had been pursued back in the day.
“It’s probably because you’re in the entertainment industry, and you gave her something too expensive right from the start.”
Luo Ke looked at the ring in her hand. “This is fine. It’s not that expensive.”
“Go ask your father. It’s not like I’ve ever pursued anyone.” The great beauty, Luo Ke’s mother, hung up in a huff.
Luo Ke stared at her phone, then helplessly placed the ring back in its box, tossed it to an employee, and slowly walked away.
Once Lin Sifei was in the car, her manager finally let out a long sigh. “How did you get involved with Luo Ke?”
“I didn’t get involved with her,” Lin Sifei said, aggrieved. “She said she’s my fan. It’s not my fault I’m so popular.”
She took out her phone, opened the front-facing camera, took three selfies, and posted them to Weibo.
【Lin Sifei V: Another beautiful day.】
She refreshed the page, and the comments below were already full of fans praising her.
Since her phone was already out, Lin Sifei casually searched for Luo Ke’s Weibo. Her profile picture was a very professional-looking bust shot against a blue background, and her account was verified as the President of Luo Corporation.
Her manager glanced at the phone and reminded her, “Don’t you dare follow her. She’s already a fan. If you do anything, she’ll start getting all sorts of ideas.”
Lin Sifei said, “Oh,” and pulled back her twitching fingers.
She leaned back in her seat to rest, but Luo Ke’s face appeared in her mind. She pressed her lips together and murmured, “She’s actually quite pretty, isn’t she?”
The manager’s eyes widened in shock. She stared at Lin Sifei. “You—you don’t actually have feelings for Luo Ke, do you? Are you really a lace?2”
“What nonsense are you talking about?” Lin Sifei closed her eyes.
But the manager’s mind was racing. Lin Sifei had debuted at eighteen and had been under her management the entire time. She had indeed never heard of her being interested in any boy. Could it be that she really did like girls?
“Have you ever had a secret crush on a boy?”
“Me? A secret crush?” Lin Sifei looked like she’d just heard a joke. “Does someone like me need to have secret crushes?”
The narcissist was back online. The manager stared at her. “You’ve never dated, either. Does that mean you’ve really never liked anyone?”
“Nope. What’s so interesting about dating?”
The manager filed this away, careful not to suggest the possibility that she might be gay. Are you kidding me? It’s fine if she hasn’t figured it out yet, but if she does, wouldn’t that just be creating an opportunity for Luo Ke?
“Just maintain a normal professional relationship with President Luo. Nothing more.”
Lin Sifei nodded, took a deep breath, and closed her eyes to rest.
The manager was worried, but they didn’t see Luo Ke again for some time. She had someone ask around and learned that Luo Ke had gone on a business trip to inspect some properties, which brought her a wave of relief.
“If you want to contact President Luo, I can help. Didn’t Lin Sifei work with her a few times before? I think Luo Corporation was quite satisfied.”
“No, no need!” the manager hastily refused and hung up the phone.
“There’s an interview show in two days,” the manager said, looking at Lin Sifei. “They haven’t provided the questions in advance, so you’ll have to improvise. Is that okay?”
“No problem at all.” Lin Sifei had always been quite frank, so she wasn’t nervous about these kinds of interviews or worried about her public image collapsing.
After resting for two days, Lin Sifei arrived at the interview show in high spirits.
The production team was easy to work with. There were a few sharp questions here and there, but Lin Sifei answered them all just as she pleased.
“Our Feifei is so honest. Nothing can stump you,” the host said with a smile, holding her cue cards.
Lin Sifei raised an eyebrow. “Of course. There’s no need for me to hide my thoughts.”
The host said, “Alright, let’s take some questions from the audience now. Let’s see if they can stump you.”
Following the host’s cue, Lin Sifei looked out at the audience. The stage lights had been too bright for her to see them clearly before, but now, she immediately spotted Luo Ke sitting in the front row, holding a light-up sign.
She froze for a second. The host hesitated for a long moment before pointing at Luo Ke. “Let’s have this person ask a question.”
Lin Sifei turned her head to look at the host. Right, keep pretending. Don’t think I don’t know that Luo Ke has shares in this production. You were all in on this from the start, weren’t you?
But even if it was a setup, she still had to answer the question.
Luo Ke stood up, holding a microphone. “I’d like to ask, what are Feifei’s views on homosexuality?”
Lin Sifei showed a surprised expression. “I didn’t expect anyone to ask this. Personally, I don’t have any particular stance, just like no one would ask you for your views on heterosexuality. Everyone is just living and loving normally. As long as you’re not hurting anyone, I don’t think there’s any difference. What would you call that attitude?”
“So you’re not against it, right?”
Lin Sifei nodded. “Of course not.”
Luo Ke sat down, once again holding the light-up sign in front of her, and smiled.
For some reason, Lin Sifei suddenly averted her gaze, not daring to meet her eyes.
The next fan asked a question, and she quickly collected herself and answered.
After the show finished filming, Lin Sifei walked backstage and looked up to see Luo Ke waiting in the hallway.
Lin Sifei flicked her hair back and strode over. “Is this considered an abuse of power, President Luo? Chasing your idol all the way backstage.”
“I never said I was waiting for you,” Luo Ke said, tilting her head slightly and looking at her with an innocent expression.
The implication was that Lin Sifei was getting ahead of herself.
Lin Sifei’s face instantly flushed red. She huffed, stomped her foot, and turned to leave.
Luo Ke hurried to catch up. “Alright, you guessed correctly.”
“No, it was just me being sentimental. President Luo should get back to work.”
She was bristling. Luo Ke couldn’t resist reaching out to pat her head.
Her fingertips brushed lightly through Lin Sifei’s hair, like a feather stroking one’s heart. Lin Sifei couldn’t help but shiver and turned to glare at her.
“Don’t touch my hair!”
Luo Ke withdrew her hand. Seeing her puffed-up cheeks, she took out a yogurt drink. “You said in the interview that you liked drinking this.”
Lin Sifei glanced at it, reached out to take it, and stuck the straw in to start drinking.
“How is it?”
“It’s pretty good.” As she spoke, she began walking forward with big strides.
Luo Ke followed with a smile. “They don’t have a spokesperson yet. I was thinking of inviting you.”
Lin Sifei huffed twice. “Talk to my manager about collaborations. I’m not in charge of that.”
“It was just an excuse to see you.” Luo Ke frowned in thought. “Besides, isn’t there a saying, ‘don’t let the fertile water flow into others’ fields’?”3
Lin Sifei stopped in her tracks. “What exactly do you mean by that?”
“I’m pursuing you. Isn’t it obvious?”
Lin Sifei bit down on her straw. “There are plenty of people in this industry who use the banner of dating to do shady things.”
“That’s not me. I’ve never been in a relationship. You’re my first love.”
“We haven’t dated, so it doesn’t count as a first love.”
“It doesn’t?” Luo Ke looked at her pink cheeks. “Then I’ll just have to work harder.”
“Then keep working hard, President Luo.” Lin Sifei held up her hands. “I’m very hard to win over.”
“Don’t fans get any discounts?”
“No.” Lin Sifei frowned and glared at her. “Also, don’t tell me you’ve gone silly from being a fan. Are you one of those girlfriend fans4 or something, in love with some fantasy version of me?”
“It was only after seeing you in person that I truly fell for you. You’re even more captivating in real life than on TV.”
“Is that so? I have a terrible temper, you know.” Lin Sifei tossed the empty yogurt carton away.
“I’ll slowly get to know just how terrible your temper is.”
Lin Sifei looked at Luo Ke, who was gazing intently at her, and her heart gave a few loud thumps. She quickly turned her face away. “Then good luck. I’m leaving.”
She walked out quickly, got into the nanny van, and abruptly covered her face with her hands.
That person… she really is beautiful.
The vehicle started moving. Lin Sifei took a deep breath. Calm down, calm down. You’re just someone who’s been single since the womb,5 getting flustered by some sweet talk. Be careful.
