    Hongdu Lovers

    She’s My Girlfriend

Her beloved, sweet and soft, clinging to her — Liu Yinxi’s heart was melting.

Liu Yinxi slipped one arm around Nan Huaixu’s waist and gently stroked the side of her face, murmuring softly, “Of course. You’re the one who taught me what shape love takes. I only fit into the world you’ve given me.”

Nan Huaixu smiled, thoroughly content, and nuzzled up against her neck, pressing a kiss to Liu Yinxi’s lips. “I just love it when you sweet-talk me.”

Liu Yinxi rubbed the top of her head and lowered her brow to rest against Nan Huaixu’s. “I’m not sweet-talking you. I’m just answering you.”

Nan Huaixu tilted her face up, gazing at her for a moment with hazy, intoxicated eyes, then smiled and nodded. “Mm, I know.”

Nan Huaixu released her arms from around Liu Yinxi’s neck and raised them, acting coy. “No energy. Want a hug.”

Liu Yinxi bent down slightly, scooped one arm beneath Nan Huaixu’s back and the other under her knees, and lifted her horizontally into her arms.

Nan Huaixu let out a startled little yelp and hastily clutched Liu Yinxi’s shoulders, pressing her cheek against her chest. “What are you doing?”

Liu Yinxi held her securely and walked into the elevator. “I’ve wanted to try this since Jinzhou Island.”

    “Hm?”

    “Holding my little baby.”

Nan Huaixu tilted her head up to argue. “I’m way older than you.”

Liu Yinxi waited for the elevator doors to open, carried Nan Huaixu from the entryway into the living room, and laid her gently on the sofa. “No matter how old you are, you’re my baby. And you feel so small in my arms.”

Nan Huaixu lazily swept aside the long hair scattered across her forehead and reached up, curling her fingers in a beckoning gesture. Liu Yinxi lowered herself onto the carpet and leaned in close.

The floor lamp in the corner cast a soft glow against Liu Yinxi’s back. Backlit by the gentle light, her lowered lashes caught a faint golden tint as she shared a long, deep kiss with the woman beneath her.

“Mm…” Nan Huaixu pulled back, her eyes glistening. She slid one hand behind Liu Yinxi’s head, fingers threading into her soft hair, and cradled the back of her skull, drawing her down.

Liu Yinxi knelt on one knee at the edge of the sofa, sinking slowly under Nan Huaixu’s pull, her stomach pressing flush against Nan’s soft curves, their body heat passing between them through two thin layers of fabric.

Like a fire burning brighter and brighter, a searing red flushed through the skin of their cheeks, ears, and necks.

A faint moan escaped Nan Huaixu’s throat. She gradually deepened the kiss, her teeth grazing Liu Yinxi’s lips, drawing sweetness from her warm mouth, while her hands roamed the powerful lines of the Alpha’s back.

Liu Yinxi pressed soothing kisses to the Omega’s ear. She felt cool air on the skin of her stomach and looked down — a slender hand had impatiently rucked up her shirt.

Liu Yinxi exhaled, releasing the rich locust flower pheromones from her nose. She lowered her eyes with restrained deliberation and gently caught Nan Huaixu’s hand as it worked at her buttons.

“Manman.” Liu Yinxi kissed Nan Huaixu’s brow and the bridge of her nose, gradually moving her hand away, pressing it to her lips for a kiss, then placing it flat against her chest over her heart.

Her voice was slightly hoarse and honeyed, her breath carrying the scent of pheromones as it brushed across Nan Huaixu’s cheeks. “You drank a lot today and sweated quite a bit. With the AC blowing on you, you’ll catch a chill easily. Let me go run a hot bath — you soak for a while and then rest, okay?”

Nan Huaixu furrowed her brow, studied her for a moment, and pouted slightly. “No… fine.”

Liu Yinxi seized the opening and kissed her lips. “If I don’t stop now, how am I supposed to tell whether you can’t help yourself or you’re just drunk and frisky, hm?”

She pressed another kiss to Nan Huaixu’s chin, then her neck.

The trail of light kisses tickled Nan Huaixu. She tilted her neck back, reveling in the intimacy, a laugh rumbling in her throat. “I can’t be frisky with you without being drunk? You’re my girlfriend now.”

She said it with absolute, unapologetic conviction.

Liu Yinxi looked up into her eyes. “Have you ever been? Before me?”

Nan Huaixu turned her face away, her cheeks flushed pink as peach petals. “A few times.”

Liu Yinxi chuckled low and kissed the top of her head. “That’s good.”

Nan Huaixu stole a glance at her. Liu Yinxi caught it and kissed the eye that had been peeking. “I’m happy. There can be more times in the future.”

Nan Huaixu gave a little hum and traced Liu Yinxi’s nose and lip line with her fingertip. “You’re happy but you’re still killing the mood?”

Liu Yinxi kissed her finger. “Then do you think I’d be happy if I let things go and you ended up catching a cold?”

Nan Huaixu’s tightly knit brows relaxed a fraction.

Liu Yinxi tapped her small nose with a finger. “You’ll turn into a snotty-nosed kid.”

    That would be so unglamorous.

Nan Huaixu hastily shook her head. “Run the bath! Run the bath!”

Liu Yinxi couldn’t hold back a laugh and kissed her nose. “Wait for me. I’ll be right back.”

Liu Yinxi braced against the edge of the sofa and slowly stood. She turned up the AC temperature and draped a light blanket over Nan Huaixu.

She went up to the second-floor master bedroom, started filling the bathtub with hot water, laid out a bathrobe and towels, and put on Nan Huaixu’s favorite soothing music before heading back downstairs.

“Manman, it’s ready. Let’s go up.”

Liu Yinxi walked over to the sofa and found Nan Huaixu had pulled the blanket over her head. She lifted a corner — Nan Huaixu’s eyes were closed, her breathing even. She had fallen asleep.

Liu Yinxi thought for a moment, then carried her upstairs and laid her on the bed. Nan Huaixu didn’t stir through any of it. Liu Yinxi waited a while, but Nan Huaixu remained deep in sleep, so she didn’t wake her. She removed her makeup, wiped her face, hands, and feet with wet wipes, turned off the light, and let her sleep soundly.

It felt like a very long day.

After her own shower, Liu Yinxi sat at the bay window with a towel draped over her head, looking out at the night cityscape.

The villa district was quiet — no bustling streets, only gardens and the stars and moon.

Liu Yinxi let her mind go blank and stared into space, but her brain refused to settle. She mentally replayed everything that had happened today:

Helping Nan Lingxuan mend her relationship with her daughter, earning Nan Lingxuan’s approval and professional support.

Meeting Han Shuang — a teammate who had also transmigrated from their original world — and learning new information about the system.

    A bountiful harvest.

Liu Yinxi yawned. She was tired.

This exhaustion was different from the pure physical fatigue of wilderness survival — it was the mental weariness of navigating complex social relationships.

    — “Why be afraid? The reward has to be something good.”

    — “Like a dream ending. You don’t know what will happen.”

    — “I’m full of dread for the unknown.”

The conversation with Han Shuang about the system’s reward flashed through Liu Yinxi’s mind again.

She hadn’t paid that much attention to Han Shuang’s words at the time. Han Shuang had always been a cautious, overly nervous person by nature — Liu Yinxi had once criticized her for being timid and encouraged her to spread her wings, warning that she’d never grow into a leader who could stand on her own otherwise.

But this time, Liu Yinxi cared.

…Just now, while she was kissing Nan Huaixu, the thought had surfaced unbidden.

    “Mmhh…”

Nan Huaixu’s sleep-murmuring drifted from the bed. Liu Yinxi turned to look — at some point, Nan Huaixu had pushed off her own covers, crawled into Liu Yinxi’s side of the bed, and was hugging Liu Yinxi’s pillow.

Liu Yinxi’s heart softened. Manman was looking for her, even in sleep.

Liu Yinxi closed the curtains and lay down. The moment she slipped under the covers, Nan Huaixu curled into her arms, pressing her cheek into the crook of Liu Yinxi’s neck, finding a comfortable position and continuing to sleep.

Liu Yinxi held her shoulders, gently kneading them, and kissed her hair. Have sweet dreams, my baby.

In the quiet night, the bathwater slowly cooled to nothing, its surface reflecting a clear moon, shimmering with ripples.

    SPACE LINE

    Beep beep beep beep!

    Beep beep beep beep!

The sky was barely light when Liu Yinxi was jolted awake by a frantic alarm. The person in her arms sat up abruptly and silenced the phone.

“Haah—” Liu Yinxi let out a massive yawn, tears welling at the corners of her eyes. “What’s wrong?”

Nan Huaixu pressed her palm to her forehead and scrolled through her phone with one hand. “Work alarm. I forgot to cancel it yesterday.”

Liu Yinxi picked up her phone and glanced at it — July 27, 6:30 AM.

    Still early.

She rolled over and wrapped her arm around Nan Huaixu’s slender waist, pressing her face against her back. “You’re on vacation starting today, right? Sleep a little more.”

Nan Huaixu stared at her phone with a grave expression, responding absently. “Mm…”

Nan Huaixu kept looking at her phone for a long time, seemingly replying to messages and sending several voice notes, showing no intention of going back to sleep.

Liu Yinxi sensed something was off and asked with concern. “Is there work at the company you need to handle?”

Nan Huaixu let out a long sigh, cupped Liu Yinxi’s face in both hands, and kissed her forehead firmly. “I’m sorry, Xixi. I need to go to the office.”

Nan Huaixu swung out of bed briskly, opened the wardrobe, and pulled out an outfit. Liu Yinxi followed her out of bed. “What’s going on? Can you tell me?”

After last night’s dinner, Liu Yinxi knew that both Nan Huaixu and Nan Lingxuan were helping her find resources and lay groundwork, expanding new frontiers for her career. So whether as Nan Huaixu’s girlfriend or as an employee of the Nan sisters, she ought to be part of their team, helping the company relieve its troubles and resolve its difficulties.

She couldn’t keep distancing herself like before. She needed to actively understand the company’s operations — even if she couldn’t offer substantive help, she could at least be a listener and ease Nan Huaixu’s pressure.

Nan Huaixu quickly washed up, changed into an elegant dress, and sat at the vanity doing her makeup. “The company’s qualification filings were rejected. This is already the third time we’ve submitted. If we don’t get it approved before September, it’ll affect our upcoming talent signings and production schedules.”

Liu Yinxi didn’t understand these things, but it sounded thorny just hearing it, and she tensed up too. “Where’s the problem? Is there anything I can do?”

Nan Huaixu closed her eyeshadow palette, turned around, and smiled at her. “You… let me think…”

Liu Yinxi sat at the foot of the bed, waiting earnestly.

Nan Huaixu pointed to her left cheek. “Gimme a kiss.”

Liu Yinxi kissed her left cheek.

    “This side too.”

Liu Yinxi kissed her right cheek.

“Done.” Nan Huaixu tipped Liu Yinxi’s chin up and scratched under it. “You’re coming to the office with me. Make me something delicious for lunch.”

Liu Yinxi answered with full confidence. “Received, President Nan.”

This was Liu Yinxi’s first visit to Nan Huaixu’s new company.

The company wasn’t large, but everything from the location to the interior design, from the staff’s demeanor to the work atmosphere, showed great care and attention.

Liu Yinxi followed Nan Huaixu into the elevator to the top-floor executive office. The moment they stepped out, something felt off.

There should have been someone at the reception desk, but the front desk secretary and assistants were nowhere to be seen. The administrative staff in the two small offices were gone too.

Nan Huaixu frowned and walked into the office. The door was unlocked. Someone sat in the leather chair with their back to them, turning around only when they heard the sound.

It was a strikingly beautiful, well-maintained middle-aged woman. Liu Yinxi could see Nan Huaixu’s features echoed in her face.

The instant she saw her, Nan Huaixu’s hostility flared. “What are you doing here? I’m calling the police.”

“Manman, I heard you brought a kept little Alpha to your jiejie’s dinner? Such a disgraceful thing getting out — how am I supposed to show my face?” Zeng Mulin’s eyes blazed and brows bristled with fury as she slammed her hand against the desk.

Liu Yinxi lowered her eyes helplessly. A kept Alpha… It seemed the stigma of being “kept” would never wash off.

Nan Huaixu strode to the desk and slammed both palms down, the impact deafening. “Mami, apologize to Liu Yinxi.”

“Liu Yinxi has never been kept by anyone. She is a free person. She is my girlfriend.”
