    Adults really are so complicated!

The camera behind her was still clicking away, kacha kacha. Yin Bai walked forward for quite a while before she heard the da-da sound of high heels tapping on the ground from behind.

Yin Bai seemed to sense something; the cane in her hand tapped lightly on the ground, her steps paused, and she turned her head to look behind her.

As she turned, she indeed met the gaze of Zuo Jingyou. The female star, dressed in an evening gown, with exquisite makeup, looking radiant and dazzling, curved her lips and smiled at her: “Director Yin, what a coincidence.”

Zuo Jingyou quickened her pace and walked towards Yin Bai.

Yin Bai stood where she was, waiting for Zuo Jingyou to approach before continuing to walk: “Not a coincidence, we were both invited.”

Yin Bai turned her head, looking at Zuo Jingyou with some curiosity: “How come a busy person like you has time to attend a wedding?”

According to her little buddy, her mother had been away filming for a long time, only able to spare a pitiful few days each month to accompany her. So, for the better part of the past six months, Yin Bai had mostly been at Baihe Shanzhuang1 looking after the child2.

Of course, she herself quite enjoyed the feeling of taking care of children.

Zuo Jingyou slowed her pace, walking beside Yin Bai, and lowered her eyes with a smile: “Miss Li helped me a lot before, and she’s considered a friend of mine in the circle. Of course, I have to come to her wedding.”

    Yin Bai understood this time.

Presumably, Miss Li was a fan of Zuo Jingyou and had previously been in close contact with Zuo Jingyou’s studio. Over time, they became quite familiar. Plus, Miss Li also had some shares in film and television companies, making her a semi-insider in the circle, so Zuo Jingyou came to give her face.

Yin Bai understood, her gaze towards Zuo Jingyou carrying some sympathy: “You big stars also have all sorts of unavoidable situations, huh.”

Zuo Jingyou pursed her lips and smiled, looking softly at Yin Bai as she asked: “Then what about Director Yin? Why did you come too? Could it also be because of Miss Li?”

Yin Bai leaned on her cane, walking slowly forward: “That’s not it. I came because I know her father.”

“Oh……” Zuo Jingyou understood. “Business dealings.”

Zuo Jingyou looked at Yin Bai and said softly: “You big bosses also have all sorts of unavoidable social engagements you must attend, huh.”

Yin Bai felt like she was being teased. She glanced meaningfully at Zuo Jingyou: “The world of adults is very complicated, you know.”

She was clearly an adult, yet she said such childish words, making one not know whether to laugh or cry. But Zuo Jingyou didn’t find her childish; on the contrary, she nodded in strong agreement: “Mm, all sorts of troublesome matters.”

Yin Bai sighed, glanced at Zuo Jingyou, and invited: “Let’s go, we’ll go in together.”

    “Okay.”

Out of courtesy, Zuo Jingyou moved closer to Yin Bai: “Director Yin, would you mind if I took your arm?”

Because Yin Bai had difficulty with her leg, and on such occasions, others usually had male or female companions, Zuo Jingyou thought she definitely wouldn’t want to walk alone, leaning on a cane, so she proactively reached out to take her arm.

Her hand tightened on Yin Bai’s arm, and a pleasant perfume scent drew near. Yin Bai turned her head, looked at the stunning beauty beside her, and shook her head: “I don’t mind, but if you walk with me, your speed will also slow down considerably.”

Zuo Jingyou smiled, supporting her as they walked slowly: “It’s fine, the wedding hasn’t started yet anyway, there’s plenty of time to get there.”

“Alright then.” Yin Bai didn’t refuse her. The two of them walked arm in arm, slowly making their way towards the entrance of the venue.

Although she had suffered a car accident in her youth which ruined one of her legs, Yin Bai’s height was much greater than that of an average woman. Standing together, even with Zuo Jingyou wearing five-centimeter high heels, she found that she was still a few centimeters shorter than Yin Bai.

Zuo Jingyou tilted her head up slightly, looking at Yin Bai’s sharply defined facial features, her skin so fair it seemed almost cold, and those gray-blue eyes. She guessed in her heart that Yin Bai must be of mixed heritage.

She thought for a moment, then said to Yin Bai: “I finally understand why Tongtong has been willing to drink milk lately, wanting to become a very tall and reliable person. It turns out it’s all because she saw Director Yin.”

Yin Bai tilted her head to look at her, asking very seriously: “Do you also think I’m very tall?”

Zuo Jingyou nodded: “Mm, taller than the average woman.” Zuo Jingyou pursed her lips, smiling a little, “I thought my height was already considered quite tall among female actresses in the entertainment circle, I didn’t expect Director Yin to be even taller.”

“Is Director Yin of mixed heritage?”

Yin Bai replied happily: “My grandpa was an Eastern European, my dad is mixed-race, and my mom is French…… so I……”

Yin Bai paused, then calculated very seriously: “I should be three-quarters foreigner!”

Zuo Jingyou couldn’t help but laugh: “So Director Yin’s French is from family learning? I thought Director Yin had learned it previously. Thank you so much, Director Yin, for teaching the children all this time.”

Yin Bai’s face lit up with a smile: “You’re welcome, I have a lot of fun playing with them.”

She turned her head, looking at Zuo Jingyou very seriously as she asked: “Oh right, besides English and French, I also know Spanish, Latin, Italian, Greek, and Japanese, etcetera…… Do you think I can play with them using these languages too?”

Zuo Jingyou was taken aback for a moment, truly not expecting Yin Bai to be so knowledgeable. She raised her hand, pressed it to her forehead, and said, somewhat at a loss whether to laugh or cry: “Director Yin, you really are…… You should spare the children……”

“They are currently learning with a French teacher, with an extra class every day, their study load is already incredibly heavy.”

Zuo Jingyou had to remind her that children’s childhoods should primarily be about play. After all, the two children were studying very hard just to be able to converse with Yin Bai!

Yin Bai withdrew her gaze, muttering: “Is that so. I think they’re quite idle, they come looking for me to play every day!”

“Children at this age should study more. When they get older, learning things will become very slow, and their minds won’t be as sharp!”

Yin Bai clearly had a different opinion: “You need to understand, interest is the best teacher for children.”

Zuo Jingyou paused, deeply realizing how much this neighbor next door cared for her children. Seeing Yin Bai’s expression that screamed “I must urge my little buddies to work hard so they can become outstanding,” Zuo Jingyou couldn’t help but sigh.

She paused, then said to Yin Bai: “Since that’s the case, if Director Yin doesn’t find it troublesome, then go ahead and play with them.”

At most, if the children wanted to learn, she would just hire another foreign language teacher.

Having secured the parent’s approval, Yin Bai, who was addicted to looking after children, tapped her cane and said very happily: “That’s good then, as long as you don’t object.”

The two of them chatted about the children for a while, and as they talked, they arrived at the entrance of the venue. After they both handed over their invitations, they entered the venue arm in arm.

The author has something to say:

Little Director Yin is now addicted to looking after kids!

Because teaching children still brings a great sense of accomplishment!

(The relationship between the two is now like that of a teacher and a parent, so weird!)

Same old rules, the first fifty little angels to leave a comment will get a red envelope!
