Top-Tier Omega: Chasing Alpha to the Crematorium – Chapter 7
by Little PandaBite Mark Marking
Marking… Ming Yu?!
For a moment, Song Qingpei felt as if she were trapped in a dream—a nightmare.
Her eyes widened in shock, finding it hard to believe Ming Yu would say something so self-humiliating. But seeing Ming Yu’s ice-cold expression and recalling what Doctor Li had told her, Ming Yu’s behavior suddenly seemed plausible.
Ming Yu’s pheromones couldn’t be controlled by any inhibitor, so she needed Song Qingpei to soothe her. The superior Admiral, unable to compromise, was now ordering her to mark her.
A sense of powerless absurdity made Song Qingpei want to laugh.
What made Ming Yu think that she would willingly mark her with just a single command?
If she had harbored any delusions before, yesterday’s events had taught her the profound depth of Ming Yu’s cold-bloodedness. Now, she wanted nothing more to do with her.
She spoke in a tone bordering on mockery. “Admiral Ming, how could someone as despicable as me be worthy of marking someone as lofty as you?”
The words were like a sharp slap across Ming Yu’s face.
After all, Ming Yu had once said that Song Qingpei wasn’t worthy of marking her, let alone bearing her child.
A sense of shame mixed with towering rage, and Ming Yu slowly tightened her grip on Song Qingpei.
Song Qingpei struggled desperately to break free, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t escape. Her jaw, and even her neck, were held fast in Ming Yu’s grasp.
“Song Qingpei! Are you looking to die?!”
Ming Yu’s eyes narrowed as she threatened her coldly.
She knew Song Qingpei was afraid; the terror in her eyes was too obvious. Yet, she was still stubbornly refusing.
“I… I won’t mark you… Never!”
“Did you think I was negotiating with you?”
Ming Yu’s gaze grew darker, and the force in her hand increased, almost enough to crush Song Qingpei’s jaw. “Song Qingpei, I am now ordering you to mark me. You don’t have a choice. Otherwise, I’ll gouge out your gland and make you a complete cripple.”
Song Qingpei winced in pain and retorted angrily, “Ming Yu! You lunatic! I’d rather have my gland gouged out than mark you!”
“Heh, very good.” Ming Yu’s lips curled into a cold sneer. “You’ve got backbone. Then I’ll grant you your wish.”
She abruptly released her grip on Song Qingpei’s chin. Song Qingpei clutched her neck, coughing violently, the wariness in her eyes not diminishing in the slightest.
Ming Yu had already reined in her ferocity. Instead, she smiled as she sized up Song Qingpei, speaking slowly. “Song Qingpei, if I were to gouge out your gland and dump you on some deserted planet, how many days do you think you’d survive?”
The question pierced Song Qingpei’s chest like a sharp blade.
She stared at Ming Yu in disbelief. “You wouldn’t dare! Songsong would never forgive you if she found out.”
“And what do you think I wouldn’t dare to do?”
Ming Yu raised an eyebrow, looking at Song Qingpei with contempt. “I don’t deny Songsong’s feelings for you, but a child’s memory is the easiest to shape. Time can easily blur things. She might miss you for a year, maybe two, but what about five years from now? Ten? How much of you do you think she’ll still remember?”
“…”
Song Qingpei fell silent, a deep hatred flashing in her eyes, but she was powerless.
Ming Yu looked at her and smiled indifferently. “Song Qingpei, if you’re a smart woman, you should know what to choose. I don’t want to create a rift between myself and Songsong, but that’s on the condition that you know what’s good for you and cooperate. Otherwise…”
As she finished, Ming Yu’s expression suddenly turned sharp, her gaze like a knife aimed straight at Song Qingpei’s heart.
Her tone was even, but every word dripped with ice and killing intent.
A chill ran through Song Qingpei. Ming Yu was indeed capable of doing all of this without a trace. Right now, Song Qingpei had no ability to resist her. Besides compromise, she had no other choice.
Most importantly, she truly couldn’t bear to leave her daughter. For her daughter’s sake…
“I’ll do it.”
Song Qingpei bit her lip, forcing out the words. She lowered her gaze to hide the surging hatred in her eyes.
“Very good.”
Ming Yu nodded with a cold smile, then began to unbutton her shirt. One button, then two…
Her movements were elegant and unhurried, as if the vicious threats from moments ago hadn’t come from her at all. As her long fingers moved, her exquisite, beautiful collarbones were revealed, her fair skin glowing with an alluring luster under the light.
Faced with such a beautiful sight, Song Qingpei felt no appreciation whatsoever. She only felt as if a beautiful serpent was flicking its tongue at her.
At any moment, it might bite her viciously.
“Begin. The Bite Mark Marking.1”
Ming Yu urged her on dispassionately, then shot her a warning glare. “Don’t push your luck. You are not to touch anywhere else.”
Her voice was low, as if squeezed through her teeth, carrying a chilling coldness.
Song Qingpei snorted disrespectfully, sneering internally. Today, she had finally learned what it meant to be a hypocrite,2 as if she were so eager to touch her.
Steeling herself, Song Qingpei reached out and slowly traced the area below Ming Yu’s neck.
Ming Yu instinctively shuddered, and a rich wave of Omega pheromones was easily drawn out, instantly filling the Confinement Bay.
The normal state she had just regained shattered in an instant. Her whole body grew hot again, her face flushed, and the familiar feeling of losing control washed over her.
In a panic, Ming Yu blustered, “What are you still dawdling for? Hurry up.”
Already furious from being repeatedly threatened, Song Qingpei heard the impatient demand and didn’t hesitate. She moved close to the gland on Ming Yu’s neck and bit down hard, injecting her own pheromones into Ming Yu’s bloodstream.
After finishing the marking, Song Qingpei quickly took a step back, as if recoiling from something that could devour her.
Infused with Alpha pheromones, Ming Yu involuntarily closed her eyes. A blush spread from the corners of her eyes to her ears. Her neck arched high and her red lips were bitten tight. Then she began to tremble, almost unable to stand.
A Bite Mark Marking only had a temporary soothing effect; it would disappear with her metabolism before long.
Song Qingpei hadn’t expected Ming Yu’s reaction to be so strong. Seeing her body stagger, she instinctively reached out to steady her. The moment she grasped her waist, she could feel the scorching heat of her body even through the clothes.
At her touch, Ming Yu couldn’t help but let out a pained moan. “Ngh—”
The sound made Song Qingpei freeze on the spot, unsure of what to do.
Ming Yu bit her lip hard, forcing out a few words. “Ngh~ Get lost… don’t touch me…”
Song Qingpei cursed herself for meddling and, unable to bear it any longer, shoved Ming Yu away.
Unsteady, Ming Yu leaned against the cabin wall and slowly sank to the floor. She buried her head between her arms, her shoulders shaking nonstop. An occasional moan of distress escaped her lips. At this point, it wasn’t just simple discomfort, but a heart-pounding pleasure mixed with a thread of emptiness.
In a flash, countless images of being gently caressed in the past flooded her mind…
She didn’t know if it was the pheromones’ influence, but she found herself craving those past gentle caresses, that lingering passion, not this vicious bite—a marking that could only be described as cold-blooded. It felt like something was missing.
As images of their intimacy flashed through her mind, Ming Yu’s eyes snapped open. Dammit, she had forgotten that pheromones could retain imprints of their past.
As she gradually regained her clarity, she looked up and glared fiercely at the indifferent Song Qingpei opposite her.
Song Qingpei’s heart was a sea of calm.
Don’t feel sorry for a cold-blooded, unreasonable Omega. You’ll only end up miserable.
Seeing that Ming Yu seemed to have returned to normal, Song Qingpei said directly, “Can I leave now?”
After a brief pause, she added, “Songsong will be waking up soon. She’ll get anxious if she can’t find me.”
Ming Yu swept a cold glance over her. “I’ll go with you to see Songsong.”
No matter how unwilling she was, Song Qingpei couldn’t refuse. She could only walk briskly out of the Confinement Bay without a word. She never wanted to come to this godforsaken place again.
The two walked one after the other, as cold as strangers.
It was hard to believe that just a short while ago, they had engaged in the intimate act of marking.
Lieutenant Lin, who had been waiting outside the Rest Cabin, let out a sigh of relief when she saw them approaching.
“Admiral.”
“Has Songsong woken up?” Ming Yu asked.
“Not yet. According to the sleep monitor, Miss Songsong has been sleeping very soundly.”
Ming Yu nodded. “Good. You can go attend to your duties. Arrange for the starship to make a short stop at Planet Lan.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Receiving her orders, Lieutenant Lin turned and left.
Entering the Rest Cabin, they saw Songsong sleeping soundly in bed, hugging a comfort doll. Half of her chubby little face was buried in the doll’s body, looking both comical and adorable.
The two exchanged a look of tacit understanding and temporarily stepped back outside.
Another long silence followed.
Ming Yu was exhausted from the physical and mental toll of her heat, but she didn’t want to show it in front of the person before her. She had to maintain absolute authority in this relationship, otherwise there was no telling what delusions this low-grade A might get, or what she might do that would be disadvantageous to her.
Meanwhile, Song Qingpei had gathered from their conversation that they were about to reach their destination.
Given Ming Yu’s atrocious behavior over the past few days, she couldn’t help but feel a growing sense of worry. She looked at Ming Yu with a guarded expression.
She was afraid that with Ming Yu’s dictatorial personality, she would keep Songsong by her side at all costs to cultivate a bond, only to kick her out when the time was right. That two-year agreement was probably just a stalling tactic.
Song Qingpei hesitated for a long time before she finally couldn’t resist asking, “You… how do you plan to arrange things for us when we get to Planet Lan?”
“What do you think?” Ming Yu countered instead of answering.
Song Qingpei was very dissatisfied with her vague attitude. Her expression grew solemn. “Ming Yu, I am trying to have a serious discussion with you about Songsong. Have you thought about it? How are you going to introduce her identity to others?”
It was a very practical problem.
If Ming Yu couldn’t handle this well, Songsong would inevitably be hurt. But if she directly acknowledged Songsong’s identity, Ming Yu would have to face pressure from her family and public opinion. Either choice would likely be…
Before she could finish her thought, she heard Ming Yu say contemptuously, “My, Ming Yu’s, daughter. Does she need to have her identity hidden and concealed?”
“I’m not saying we should hide Songsong’s identity!” Song Qingpei argued. “But you have to consider the impact that exposing her identity will have on her.”
“I can’t think of any impact. Songsong was meant to grow up being doted on by everyone. She will only be proud of me.”
At this, Ming Yu glanced at Song Qingpei and said mockingly, “Song Qingpei, don’t judge others by your own standards. To Songsong, you’re the mother who’s holding her back.”
“You…” Song Qingpei was enraged by her words. “Ming Yu!”
“What? Am I wrong?” Ming Yu sneered disdainfully.
Just the thought of how she had been viciously humiliated by this low-grade A a moment ago, humbly begging to be marked, made her want to crush every last shred of Song Qingpei’s pride.
Song Qingpei’s face was ashen, her chest heaving violently, but she couldn’t utter a single word.
Ming Yu’s words had undoubtedly struck her deepest pain, reminding her again and again of the gap between them, making her feel both humiliated and powerless.
Seeing Song Qingpei’s devastated look, Ming Yu felt a great deal of satisfaction. She took the opportunity to say, “Remember, allowing you to stay is already my greatest act of mercy. All you have to do is obediently do as I say. If you don’t know what’s good for you, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
As they were arguing, the door to the Rest Cabin opened. Songsong groggily rubbed her sleepy eyes. “Mama, Mommy, what are you talking about? It’s so loud!”
Hearing Songsong’s milky voice, both Ming Yu and Song Qingpei froze. They simultaneously wiped the displeasure from their faces, replacing it with smiles in an instant.
Songsong ran towards them.
Song Qingpei reached out and pulled her into her arms, planting a light kiss on her rosy cheek. She said with a smile, “Songsong’s awake.”
Songsong nuzzled against her cheek like a spoiled child. “Mama, Songsong is hungry. I want to eat.”
Song Qingpei dotingly tapped her little nose. “Okay, you go wash up first, and then Mama will take you to eat, alright?”
“Mhm. Songsong will go wash up.”
Songsong nodded obediently, then wiggled her little bottom and bounced off to the washroom.
Beside them, Ming Yu watched the natural, warm interaction between mother and daughter, and her expression instantly darkened. If Song Qingpei hadn’t taken their daughter away, she would have been the one who was so close to Songsong now.
Dammit, it was all this low-grade A’s fault.
When Songsong came out from the washroom, before Song Qingpei could even move, Ming Yu had already walked over and picked her up.
“Songsong, Mommy will take you to eat, okay?” As if afraid Songsong would refuse, she added enticingly, “After we eat, how about Mommy takes you to pilot a mech?”
“Okay!”
Songsong was instantly captivated by the “pie” Ming Yu had drawn.3
Ming Yu smiled with satisfaction and carried Songsong towards the door.
Halfway there, Songsong finally remembered her poor mother and called out to Song Qingpei, “Mama, let’s go! Let’s go eat.”
Before Song Qingpei could speak, Ming Yu shot her a cold, warning glare and said nonchalantly, “Songsong, your mama has something to do. We’ll go eat first.”
The forcibly-busy Song Qingpei: “…”
The innocent Songsong: “Mama, come quickly, okay? We’ll wait for you.”
As Ming Yu carried Songsong past her, she let out a cold snort. “If you have things to do, take your time. No need to rush.”
Song Qingpei clenched her fists tightly, trying hard to suppress the anger in her heart. Don’t get angry. It’s not worth getting angry over someone like this.
Ming Yu left the Rest Cabin with Songsong in her arms, wearing the air of a victor.
With nothing to do, Song Qingpei could only go back to sleep in the Rest Cabin. She slept until Li Man contacted her through Lieutenant Lin, asking her to come down to the Medical Bay.
The test results must be out. A sliver of hope rose in Song Qingpei’s heart.
Could there really have been a problem with her test?
Was she not really a low-grade A? Could she still have a chance to pursue the career she loved? Suppressing her excitement, she arrived at the Medical Bay full of hope.
Li Man smiled and handed her the test results.
Song Qingpei took the report with slightly trembling hands and slowly opened it. The results gradually came into view:
Pheromone response: sluggish. Mental Strength: weak. Classification: Low-grade Alpha…
There was no need to read the rest. Song Qingpei smiled numbly and murmured, “I knew it… How could the test results be mistaken so easily? Doctor Li… thank you for your trouble.”
Noticing her disappointment, Li Man comforted her, “Don’t take it too hard. To be chosen by the Admiral means you’re still very outstanding.”
That was really touching a sore spot.4 Now Song Qingpei really got emo.5
She was suddenly overcome with dejection. “Doctor Li, please carry on with your work,” she said listlessly. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going.”
After watching Song Qingpei leave, Li Man’s gaze lingered for a long time, her expression shifting uncertainly.
Song Qingpei’s test results indeed showed she was a low-grade A, but her performance was completely incongruous with that result. She could permanently mark Ming Yu, who had powerful Mental Strength, and even leave a mark that couldn’t be washed away. It was a complete contradiction.
Unless…
After a moment of contemplation, she finally opened the Smart A.I. and made an encrypted call.
“Teacher, the person you’ve been looking for has appeared. I’m sending you all her information immediately.”
