    Very Attractive

    Such a seductive atmosphere…

Song Linlin felt dizzy from the blood loss. Looking at such a face, despite feeling it was somewhat perverse that she had bitten her, strangely, no anger arose in her heart.

Being bitten once didn’t seem like such a loss.

She looked awkwardly at Chi Qianning, reaching up to touch the still-stinging wound on her neck, stammering: “Why… why did you suddenly bite me?”

In that moment of being bitten, it felt like a venomous snake had struck her vital point. The suffocating sensation made Song Linlin think the other party would snap her throat in the next second – even now, the thought made her tremble with fear.

Moreover, human teeth obviously couldn’t pierce skin so easily. Sure enough, as soon as Song Linlin was released, she saw Chi Qianning had two fangs.

    This woman definitely wasn’t human!

Could she really be a demon? No wonder those two dead demon cultivators called her demon woman…

Indeed, no normal person could have silver hair and red eyes.

Chi Qianning wiped the blood from her lips with her thumb, not immediately answering Song Linlin’s question. Instead, she stared at her for several seconds before speaking in an ambiguous tone: “You’re afraid.”

Of course Song Linlin was afraid – that woman’s gaze told her she truly wanted to bite her to death!

For some unknown reason, she had chosen to stop halfway; otherwise, Song Linlin would certainly have had all her blood drained earlier.

Seeing Song Linlin trembling in fear, Chi Qianning continued with satisfaction: “Strictly speaking, I saved you. Otherwise, with your early Foundation Establishment level and unstable foundation, you would have long since become a wandering soul under those two insects.”

    “Yes.”

Song Linlin nodded, immediately responding: “Uh… thank you for your benevolence, mercy, and kindness in saving such a weak and insignificant person.”

“But do you know that those two Integration realm insects actually planned to self-destruct their core at the end, trying to drag everyone down with them…”

Chi Qianning’s fingers twirled a strand of silver hair as she unhurriedly described what Song Linlin hadn’t witnessed. At this point, her bright red eyes shifted: “My condition isn’t great, but withstanding the self-destruction of two Integration realm cultivators wouldn’t be a problem.”

“However, I helped you by neutralizing their self-destruction.”

Song Linlin broke into a cold sweat, strongly suspecting that taking the full impact of two Integration realm cultivators’ self-destruction would definitely cause more damage than neutralizing it.

How could this woman say such things with a straight face? Speaking as if she did it all for her sake.

Though she mentally criticized her, Song Linlin didn’t dare show any inappropriate expression, maintaining a respectful and humble demeanor.

Chi Qianning suddenly gave a light laugh, releasing the strand of hair she’d been twirling, and stared at Song Linlin’s bitten neck. Her finger lightly brushed over the bite mark, causing Song Linlin to instinctively shrink her neck away, avoiding the touch.

“Sorry, it’s rather ticklish…” Song Linlin explained awkwardly.

    “No matter.”

She withdrew her finger, looking at Song Linlin with an ambiguous expression, and continued: “Perhaps you don’t know why, despite your high spiritual sensitivity, your cultivation progresses as slowly as an old ox pulling a broken cart, with no advancement in half a month?”

    Is that so?

Song Linlin looked puzzled, obediently nodding, “I don’t know.”

“Of course, it’s because you’re simply not suited for righteous cultivation techniques.”

“Those so-called prestigious orthodox sects’ techniques are mostly pure yang in nature, focusing on absorbing heaven and earth’s spiritual energy.” Chi Qianning pointed at Song Linlin, “But you…”

“In this world, there are always some humans with special constitutions. You happen to have a pure yin constitution. For people with this constitution, practicing demonic arts would be most suitable.”

Song Linlin listened in astonishment, suddenly feeling hopeful about her future. Could she be a hidden genius?

The correct path should be joining the demonic path!

Seemingly seeing through Song Linlin’s current thoughts, Chi Qianning mercilessly interrupted her ideas, “Don’t get too excited. You should be grateful you’re a disciple of the Xuanyun Sect, rather than being discovered early by some demon cultivator.”

“In this world, survival of the fittest is the eternal law. Without sufficient strength or connections to protect your foundation, those madmen wouldn’t hesitate to flay you alive and transplant your foundation to themselves.”

    “Alright…”

Song Linlin sighed, her rising dreams shattered. This world was truly full of dangers; it seemed staying safely within the sect was her best option!

Wait, wasn’t the person before her not exactly good either…

    No, she wasn’t even human!

Nervously glancing at Chi Qianning, Song Linlin realized that even though the other party was clearly in poor condition and heavily depleted, she herself had no power to resist.

Song Linlin could only resign herself to fate now. She couldn’t fight back, but since Chi Qianning hadn’t killed her earlier, perhaps there was still hope?

“To me, you are certainly very attractive. After all, only a few people with pure yin constitution appear every thousand years, and most are ruined by the demonic path.”

At this point, Chi Qianning’s tone shifted, “Of course, that’s limited to being attractive. In my eyes, you’re more like a supplement [補品 | bǔ pǐn | nutritional tonic].”

No wonder this person wanted to bite me to death earlier…

Song Linlin roughly understood the situation and tentatively asked: “So when you bit me earlier, drinking my blood and spiritual power, you were healing yourself?”

“Not so stupid after all.” Chi Qianning nodded slightly, her tone carrying a hint of disdain: “Though with your meager spiritual power, even if I had killed you just now, it would at most have the effect of consuming one high-quality medicinal pill.”

“It can only help in emergencies, not having much effect.”

“Alright…” Song Linlin felt for the first time that having low cultivation wasn’t such a bad thing.

Because she was too useless, she escaped the fate of being drained dry in one go.

“In the coming period, I need to rest and recover my strength. This place has been exposed and isn’t suitable to stay in any longer.”

Chi Qianning stared at Song Linlin, “I’ve considered it, and the Xuanyun Sect seems like a good place. At least there won’t be these annoying demon cultivators disturbing me.”

    “Huh???”

Song Linlin was a hundred percent unwilling – this clearly meant the other party was going to stick to her and intended to use her as a long-term blood bag during her recovery period.

So she immediately said: “I’m just following the team down the mountain for training. How can I bring someone back to the sect when I return? That’s not proper!”

“Besides, there are many elders in the sect. What if we’re discovered?”

Chi Qianning raised her eyebrows slightly, very confident: “Don’t worry, even if the Sect Leader of Xuanyun Sect were standing before me, he certainly wouldn’t discover anything.”

“What?” Chi Qianning’s red eyes deepened, a dangerous aura emerging as she asked word by word: “Or are you saying you’re unwilling?”

Song Linlin squeezed out a stiff smile, wanting to cry but having no tears, “How could that be? Of course I’m very willing.”

“Very good.” Chi Qianning nodded with satisfaction, glancing at the pile of useless small items Song Linlin had brought earlier, and ordered: “Put these away, prepare to leave.”

    “Oh…”

Song Linlin obediently complied, packing all those strange items – whether poison or other oddities – into a cloth bag, then tossing it into the Qiankun Ring.

After all, she had pretended to go relieve herself and returned with a pile of spoils, which didn’t make much sense. Moreover, strictly speaking, all these things belonged to that woman. Although she didn’t care for them now, she might need them sometime.

After tidying up these items, Song Linlin stood up. Her nightwear was covered in dust and grass debris. Having fallen so many times in one night, witnessing a battle between powerful beings, and being blown away by the aftermath – not losing any limbs was already a pretty good outcome.

After some thought, she went to collect the two demon cultivators’ swords as well. Since Chi Qianning had killed them, and she had nearly lost her life, these good items shouldn’t benefit outsiders!

    “Alright, we can go now!”

Song Linlin quickly composed herself. Regardless, the other party had no immediate plans to kill her. Future matters could be considered later; being alive meant cherishing each day.

“May I ask your name?” Song Linlin carefully inquired, fearing the other party’s displeasure, and added: “I’m Song Linlin. I feel we’ll be spending quite some time together, that’s why I wanted to ask.”

“Of course, if you’d rather not say, we can pretend I never asked.”

She blinked after speaking, looking at the other party with expectation yet appearing harmless. Chi Qianning looked at her blandly for two seconds before finally speaking, her voice devoid of emotion: “Chi Qianning.”

Hearing this unfamiliar name, Song Linlin immediately felt relieved – “Chi Qianning” had never appeared in the original novel.

She had thought this person might be an important character in the plot, given her beauty matching the female lead’s level and her fighting prowess – clearly not an ordinary person!

Assured that she wasn’t entangled with any dangerous main plot lines, Song Linlin’s mood improved considerably. She figured Chi Qianning was one of those reclusive experts mentioned in novels – powerful but maintaining a low profile.

“Uh… how do we get out of here?”

Song Linlin curiously peered around. The surroundings were a complete mess, with scattered rocks and grass debris everywhere after the three-person battle. For the moment, she really couldn’t find an exit.

Chi Qianning looked at her and asked in return: “How did you get in?”

    “About that…”

Song Linlin replied awkwardly, “It’s a long story. I was just walking outside when I carelessly stepped into a hole.”

“I followed the passage until I reached an exit, but you know what happened after that…”

“Hole?” Chi Qianning turned her head to look at that spot, frowning slightly, “I only knew there was a cave there, never thought it had an exit.”

After speaking, Chi Qianning waved her hand toward the sky, and an invisible barrier was opened, causing the surrounding scenery to change. Only then did Song Linlin realize this place had a barrier.

She couldn’t help but darken her face – this place even had a barrier set up, just how unlucky was she to accidentally stumble in here!

After temporarily opening the barrier, Chi Qianning turned around and instructed Song Linlin: “Hold out your hand.”

    “Alright.”

Song Linlin didn’t know what she wanted to do now, but it didn’t matter anymore. Her life was in the other party’s hands anyway – surely she wouldn’t want to bite her one more time before leaving?

Chi Qianning also extended her hand, her middle finger’s tip lightly touching Song Linlin’s wrist. The cool fingertip immediately felt a wave of warmth, her snow-white skin glowing like beautiful jade under the moonlight.

Then a flash of white light appeared, making Song Linlin instinctively squint. When she opened her eyes again, Chi Qianning, who had been standing opposite her, was gone.

    Where did she go???

Just as she was about to turn her head to search for Chi Qianning, a strange and cool sensation spread across her arm.

Song Linlin looked down to see a small silver-scaled snake coiling around her arm, showing signs of wanting to slip inside her sleeve.

    “Waaah!!!”

Song Linlin couldn’t help but cry out, almost jumping up to shake the thing off, but the silver-scaled snake raised its head, its red eyes dangerously fixing on her eyes.

That gaze was exactly like Chi Qianning’s!

The sense of danger immediately quieted Song Linlin down. She no longer dared to move, only able to watch helplessly as the snake slipped into her sleeve. The cool scales sliding across her skin created a strange sensation, making Song Linlin shiver again.

Finally, the small snake stopped advancing, coiling around Song Linlin’s forearm, settling in a position that could be hidden by her sleeve.

Song Linlin didn’t dare lift her sleeve to look at it, her heart in chaos. Apart from seeing snakes at the zoo, she had only instinctive fear toward such creatures, yet now a snake was coiled around her arm…

Who knew this person was actually a snake? No wonder she liked biting people!

The author has something to say:

I used to be afraid of snakes too, until a classmate kept several small ones. Gathering my courage out of curiosity, I touched one once. The small snake crawled up my fingers, creating a fascinating sensation (of course, if you see a big snake, please run quickly).

Just imagine the female lead as the kind of size that can coil in your palm, any bigger would be too scary, can’t ship it.
