    Nothing to Fear

You Have No Right to Control Me

April in Luo City. The evening breeze was mild and pleasant.

Amidst the bustling traffic and neon lights, the nightlife was just beginning. In the heart of Luo City’s most prosperous district towered the most luxurious hotel in the entire city.

Inside one of the hotel’s private rooms, a woman sat at the bar counter. She had long, ink-black hair and wore a revealing black slip dress. Propping her cheek on one hand, eyes half-closed, she took lazy, sporadic sips from her wine glass.

She was breathtakingly beautiful. Her features were exquisite, highlighted by an enchanting pair of peach blossom eyes1. Her nose was elegantly straight and perky, and her full, red lips rested against the rim of her glass. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, her gaze blurred and seductively captivating. A faint fragrance of hyacinth drifted from her body—pheromones that had inadvertently leaked after she had a bit too much to drink.

Several opened bottles lined the counter before her. She must have had quite a lot; she was already tipsy.

The door to the private room opened, and another woman walked in. Dressed in a striking, deep-red gown, she exuded an aggressively cold scent of pheromones. She was unmistakably an Alpha.

The female Alpha approached and took a seat beside her. She didn’t resist. Instead, she lazily raised her eyes to glance at her, the corner of her mouth curling up into a casual smile. The female Alpha swallowed hard, growing even more entranced by her.

Even though it was faint, the seductive scent of Jiang Jinyi’s hyacinth pheromones was all-pervasive, irresistibly luring the Alpha in.

“Miss, I must say, your pheromones smell wonderful. Are you upset about something? Perhaps we could add each other on WeChat2 and chat later.” Despite having entered her room so smoothly, she still pulled out her phone to ask for her contact info.

“Chat about what?” Jiang Jinyi asked slowly, her tone tinged with drunkenness. “Can’t we just chat here?”

The female Alpha paused, then tucked her phone away. “Of course we can. Are you heartbroken over something? You can tell me about it. It won’t hurt as much once you get it off your chest.”

Jiang Jinyi shook her head and tipped her head back to down another gulp of wine. A flush spread to the corners of her eyes, making her look even more intoxicated. “I don’t want to talk about it.”

She slumped over the counter, her slender fingers tapping rhythmically against the surface. Pouting her cheeks, she complained, “What’s the use in talking about it?”

Her voice was lovely—sweet, soft, and slightly cloying, always carrying a spoiled, petulant undertone. It acted like a hook, tugging relentlessly at the female Alpha’s heartstrings.

The woman’s heart grew heated. She murmured, “Of course it’s useful. Just say it, vent it all out, and you’ll feel better.”

Jiang Jinyi gave a soft chuckle. Bracing herself against the bar, she stood up and swayed gracefully over to the female Alpha. Keeping one hand on the counter, she draped the other loosely over the Alpha’s shoulder. She lowered her head, her red lips parting slightly as she commanded, “Hold me.”

The female Alpha froze, half-believing she had misheard. A beat too late, she raised her hands to encircle Jiang Jinyi’s waist. Before her fingers could even brush against the skin, the door to the private room suddenly swung open from the outside. Startled, the Alpha looked toward the entrance.

The person who opened the door was another woman. Dressed in a sleek black women’s suit, her long, slightly wavy dark hair cascaded over her shoulders. Her brows were deeply furrowed as she glared at them. Accompanying her obvious fury was the seductive yet suffocatingly oppressive scent of datura.

She was an Omega, yet she exuded a presence far more dominant and oppressive than any Alpha.

“What are you doing?” Her voice was low and icy, her expression even colder.

Feeling the murderous intent behind her gaze, the female Alpha realized what was going on. She instantly dropped her hands and stood up, offering a half-hearted smile in explanation. “Your girlfriend invited me here. Did you two have a fight? Don’t worry, we haven’t done anything yet. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now…”

The female Alpha quickly vanished from the room, pulling the door shut behind her.

Only then did Jiang Jinyi slowly turn around, casting a cold look at the person before her.

Faced with Jiang Jinyi, the frost in Jiang Youwan’s eyes softened a fraction. Still frowning, she walked up to her and said sternly, “Xiao Jin shouldn’t act like this.”

Jiang Jinyi scoffed, shooting back, “Shouldn’t act like what?”

Jiang Youwan stared at her intently, remaining silent.

Jiang Jinyi strolled unhurriedly up to her and answered on her behalf. “Shouldn’t go out looking for hookups? We’re all adults here. Isn’t this kind of thing perfectly normal?”

    “It’s dangerous.”

The scent of hyacinth thick in the air around them, Jiang Youwan maintained her composure and repeated, “It’s very dangerous, Xiao Jin.”

“Dangerous?” Jiang Jinyi murmured softly. Resting both hands on her shoulders, she stared right back. “Is it really because it’s dangerous? Jiang Youwan, you really are such a good Jiejie.”

“Did you send someone to tail me? Or are you spying on me? How else would you know I was here?”

Unable to bear Jiang Jinyi’s suspicious glare, Jiang Youwan averted her eyes. “I was just worried about you. Don’t come to places like this alone again.”

The way she looked away was truly pathetic. Jiang Jinyi pondered for a moment before saying, “Fine then. Tomorrow, I’ll go find some outstanding Alpha for a flash marriage. That won’t be dangerous. There are so many Alphas secretly in love with me; which one should I choose?”

Jiang Youwan’s gaze darkened significantly. Her fingertips curled into tight fists as she warned in a low voice, “Xiao Jin.”

Catching her reaction with pinpoint accuracy, Jiang Jinyi pouted and said in a grievance-laced tone, “Is that not allowed either?”

    “It’s best if you don’t.”

“Why? Why are you trying to control every little thing?” Jiang Jinyi suddenly grabbed her face, forcing her to look straight at her. Their eyes met, and Jiang Youwan’s breathing hitched into chaos.

Four years had passed. Xiao Jin had grown up. Her pheromones smelled even better now, making Jiang Youwan even more utterly captivated by her.

    “Because it’s not safe.”

Jiang Jinyi smiled, a deep, knowing smile, as if she were carefully weighing the word. A moment later, she surprisingly called out to her in a sweet, soft voice, “Jiejie.”

Jiang Youwan momentarily froze. A strange, numbing thrill washed over her heart, leaving her nearly drowning in that single ‘Jiejie.’

Jiang Jinyi’s gaze was blurred. She was drunk, yet somehow she seemed perfectly lucid at the same time.

If she wasn’t drunk, why would she call her Jiejie?

To Jiang Youwan, that ‘Jiejie’ was the ultimate temptation.

Jiang Youwan had a fox-like face. Her features were exquisitely chiseled yet retained a gentle femininity. Her skin was a cool jade-white, and her dark hair was meticulously tucked behind her ears. With her brows slightly knit, her long, narrow eyes looked both enchanting and unfathomably deep.

Compared to when she had first arrived at the Jiang family four years ago, this face was far more mature now. She was more charismatic, more alluring—like a fully ripened flower bud.

The woman was flawlessly beautiful, radiant, and exceptionally poised. Jiang Jinyi looked into her eyes; her own gaze was dizzy and unfocused, yet somehow seemed capable of seeing right through into Jiang Youwan’s soul.

To outsiders, she was the epitome of female elite—an unattainable goddess…

Jiang Jinyi scoffed and pulled away from Jiang Youwan. Returning to the bar counter, she poured herself another glass. Just as she tipped her head back to drink, a pair of soft, delicate hands clamped down on hers.

    “Stop drinking.”

Jiang Jinyi snorted. “You won’t let me hook up, and now you won’t even let me drink?”

“Xiao Jin has a weak stomach. You shouldn’t drink.” Jiang Youwan softly tried to dissuade her, her tone like she was coaxing a child. Just like four years ago, she cared for her deeply, terrified of her feeling unwell or being sad.

She was Luo City’s ruthless, decisive female CEO. Her exterior had always been cold and detached. Anyone else on the receiving end of such doting care and concern from her would unconsciously want to yield and become obedient under her touch.

    But Jiang Jinyi was different.

Jiang Jinyi had always enjoyed exclusive rights to this gentleness. She had long since grown fearless, secure in the knowledge of her favor.

And she had long since stopped wanting it.

    “I want to drink!”

She broke free of Jiang Youwan’s grasp and reached for the glass on the table. Tipping her head back and exposing her swan-like neck, she aggressively downed a large gulp. She choked on it, launching into a violent fit of coughing. Jiang Youwan snatched the wine from her hand, her heart aching as she gently patted Jiang Jinyi’s back.

“Xiao Jin, please don’t drink anymore.”

Jiang Jinyi coughed until she was weak, yet she still met her with a cold, unforgiving stare. “You have no right to control me.”
