Alone, Beautifully – Chapter 6

Sharing a bridal chamber with you (6)

“Remember this feeling.”

Xia Jingzhe listened in silence, her eyes flashing with a trace of astonishment.

Immediately, she raised her hand, her cool fingertips tracing down Xu Jiao’s cheek. Her nails scraped lightly, like a fine blade brushing against her face, unfolding an inexplicable sense of danger at the point of contact. Strangely, Xu Jiao felt a twinge of pain in an indescribable place.

It must be because Xia Jingzhe hadn’t trimmed her nails during her mischief.

Thinking of this, Xu Jiao’s brows unconsciously furrowed slightly.

Xia Jingzhe’s voice sounded at this moment, “Look at my memory—”

“Always forgetting that my Senior Sister’s mouth is best at lying.”

“I almost believed your words.”

Xu Jiao listened coldly to her accusation, her expression unruffled, as if the person who had just said “I like you the most in this world” with deep affection wasn’t her.

Xia Jingzhe showed a hint of reluctance on her face, but since the words had already been spoken, she had no choice but to release Xu Jiao’s wrists from the dark, mysterious iron restraints, granting her a small measure of freedom.

After the “click” sound—

The weight on Xu Jiao’s wrists finally disappeared.

She looked at the dark bruises left on her wrists, her thick eyelashes fluttered slightly. She wanted to use her cultivation method to heal the injury, but found her spiritual power completely depleted. Her once vast reservoir of spiritual energy was now empty, as if the boundless power that had once filled her dantian was now hidden away.

As expected, these chains weren’t the main object sealing her cultivation. Xu Jiao no longer looked at the wounds on her wrists, her pale hands hanging by her side.

Xia Jingzhe observed all of Xu Jiao’s reactions after being released.

She thought that Xu Jiao’s previous calmness was a pretense. Knowing that Xu Jiao was unwilling to do those things with her, she believed that Xu Jiao, now unbound, would surely lose control and lash out.

Either raising a hand to strike, or spewing harsh words.

But nothing happened.

……

Looking at the serene expression before her, not at all disturbed by those intimate marks, and meeting those perpetually cold eyes, Xia Jingzhe finally understood—

She once thought that after last night, she would have no more desires and could die without regrets. However, after such close contact with Xu Jiao, she realized how terribly wrong she was.

The distance between her and Xu Jiao was still as vast as ever.

Out of reach.

Last night’s absurdity was just her own dream. She thought she had finally touched the hem of the goddess’ robe and pulled her down to the mortal realm, but in the end, she realized that what she had grasped was merely mountain mist.

Blown away by the wind, nothing remained in her palm.

Xu Jiao was still high above, not on the peak of Kunlun, but even higher, in the heavens.

A strange sense of sadness arose in her heart, mixed with an inexplicable sense of unwillingness—how high must she climb to be seen in her senior sister’s eyes?

Xu Jiao sensed the change in Xia Jingzhe’s mood, her intuition telling her that if she didn’t divert her attention, she might suffer again.

So she calmly reminded, “Didn’t you say we should go out?”

Xia Jingzhe’s thoughts returned, a strange resentment flashing in her eyes. Before Xu Jiao could see it clearly, she heard Xia Jingzhe ask slowly:

“Being with me, does it make Senior Sister this weary?”

Xu Jiao: “…”

Not really, after all, last night’s bedlam had just opened a new door to a world for her. She wasn’t bored yet; she could endure another ten days or half a month of indulgence.

But the plot was more urgent now.

Seeing Xu Jiao not answer, Xia Jingzhe tugged at the corner of her mouth, a forced smile indicating that she took Xu Jiao’s silence as acquiescence.

Her eyes dimmed, and she exuded an aura of impending storm.

Just when Xu Jiao thought they couldn’t go out today, she saw Xia Jingzhe turn away, open the door of the small wooden cabin.

A sea of fiery red spider lilies stretches before her eyes, like flames sprouting from the ground, with an intention of engulfing the world.

The dim sky, demonic aura, even the black soil couldn’t escape the intense color.

Xu Jiao closed her eyes.

She didn’t want to see red again for a while.

Xia Jingzhe turned back, intending to ask how she found the sea of flowers outside when she saw Xu Jiao resting her eyes, even rubbing her temples with a look of indescribable weariness and fatigue.

She swallowed back her words.

Xia Jingzhe withdrew her expectations, silently stepped outside, and when Xu Jiao opened her eyes again, she saw that Xia Jingzhe was already walking ahead.

Xu Jiao didn’t notice or care about Xia Jingzhe’s intense mood swings, nor whether she could keep up. She walked leisurely, stepping into the soft black soil.

Even without spiritual power, her clothing remained extraordinary, with a self-cleaning effect that kept it free from the black mud, moving forward without a speck of dust.

Xia Jingzhe turned back, seeing the pure white figure emerging from the sea of red flowers.

At this moment, there was no cleaner color in the world.

This stark contrast seemed to subtly remind her: No matter how hard you try, whether in the heavens, on earth, or in the filthy Demonic Realm, Xu Jiao remained unchanged, untouchable by anyone.

……

Xu Jiao walked through the sea of flowers, her sleeves brushing past countless enchanting petals. When she reached Xia Jingzhe, a faint, barely noticeable fragrance clung to her, slightly altering her scent.

Meeting Xia Jingzhe’s gaze, Xu Jiao was the first to speak:

“Has Junior Sister Xia become the ruler of the Demonic Realm now?”

Destroying Kunlun, the righteous path would surely never tolerate Xia Jingzhe again. The system had told her this place was the Demonic Realm… considering the steep cliffs and the dense demonic aura, Xu Jiao easily guessed the answer.

Xia Jingzhe smiled brightly and nodded, “Do you like my new identity, Senior Sister?”

It wasn’t a matter of like or dislike.

Xu Jiao didn’t answer, instead mentioning another matter: “According to ancient texts, 36 thousand years ago, the leader of Kunlun ascended to immortality, ruled the heavenly palace, stars, and time. During the divine and demonic war, he descended upon Kunlun, leading a hundred thousand celestial soldiers against the Demonic Realm.”

She said, “Junior Sister’s actions will surely bring disaster upon herself.”

Xu Jiao’s tone was exceptionally calm, as simple as drinking water.

Xia Jingzhe, intrigued, leaned closer, her breath brushing Xu Jiao’s lips, almost like a kiss.

Maintaining this intimate proximity, she whispered, “Is Senior Sister worried about me?”

Xu Jiao looked at her inexplicably.

Without thinking, she said, “I just want to know what you intend to do.”

When the protagonist she created undergoes a drastic change, leading the plot into uncharted territories, Xu Jiao, as the creator, naturally becomes curious about the future that has veered out of her control.

Xia Jingzhe didn’t respond, instead, she seriously kissed her for a while, then said, “Let’s go to the Demonic Palace, Senior Sister.”

Snatched an advantage and forcibly shifted the topic, Xu Jiao: “…”

She raised her hand to wipe the trace at the corner of her lips, her expression once again becoming indifferent.

What’s so special about the Demonic Palace?

(If you're not reading on littlepandatranslations.com, it means this has been stolen)

Though it’s not vegetation, she knew well enough what it looked like.

……

“This was formed from the bones of the Primordial Demonic Dragon of the Demonic Realm…”

In front of the Demonic Palace, Xia Jingzhe held Xu Jiao’s hand, looking at the black and white jagged structure that exuded a chilling aura, she softly explained.

Xu Jiao glanced at it, noting that the palace perfectly matched her descriptions, and then looked away—

Surrounding the palace were unique trees of the Demonic Realm, never bearing leaves. The ash-grey trunks shone with a cold light, with occasional black creatures darting in and out of the silver sand below.

These were newborn demonic creatures, nurtured and sustained by the demonic trees, endlessly regenerating, impossible to eradicate.

After the Demonic Dragon of the Demonic Realm fell, its bones formed the palace, its sinews became the seeds of the demonic trees, its aura turned into demonic energy, and its eyes transformed into the twin demonic springs behind the palace.

The demonic springs, one hot and one cold, greatly enhance demonic creatures’ powers, while they spell doom for immortals.

As Xu Jiao recalled these settings, Xia Jingzhe had already led her through the grand hall, ignoring the low-ranking demonesses standing on either side, heading towards the demonic springs at the rear.

Just as they were about to arrive, Xu Jiao hesitated.

She vaguely guessed Xia Jingzhe’s intention.

Xia Jingzhe gently brushed Xu Jiao’s face, feeling a thin layer of sweat, and chuckled softly, “Why is Senior Sister so delicate, getting tired after just a few steps?”

With her cultivation sealed, Xu Jiao had already traveled far from the cliff. Hearing Xia Jingzhe’s taunt, she didn’t explain, just looked at her indifferently.

Xia Jingzhe laughed, bending down to lift her, and said softly, “Let me carry you to bathe, Senior Sister.”

Xu Jiao stared at her steadily, her tone somewhat lazy: “I’ve heard that the demonic springs are so powerful that even immortals cannot resist its demonic energy.”

Xia Jingzhe seemed pleased with her sharpness: “Senior Sister knows so much—so, are you afraid?”

Afraid of falling into demonic ways?

Xu Jiao lost interest and looked away.

……

Until she saw the two demonic springs.

The hot and cold springs had been connected, with visible mist and a faint, ominous gray fog floating above.

Lost in thought, Xu Jiao was already being lowered into the water by Xia Jingzhe.

(If you're not reading on littlepandatranslations.com, it means this has been stolen)

The domineering energy instantly invaded her meridians, and Xu Jiao’s eyes widened. This…

The feeling of alternating heat and cold in her meridians was unbearable.

She instinctively knew Xia Jingzhe had devised something truly different.

But before she could think further, Xia Jingzhe entered the water, splashing gently, and walked behind her, embracing Xu Jiao, whispering: “How does Senior Sister feel now?”

Xu Jiao frowned, the invasive energy making her body alternately hot and cold, wracked with pain. Her legs gave way, and she collapsed into Xia Jingzhe’s embrace.

The person behind her was satisfied, holding her tightly, voice soft in her ear: “Would Senior Sister stay here with me forever?”

Xu Jiao instinctively shook her head.

Stay in this false world?

She would not.

Xia Jingzhe saw her truth revealed under the pain, her eyes flashed coldly, and her hands moved beneath the water.

After a while.

A cry of surprise came from the pool.

“This water…”

Perhaps it was the demonic energy in the water being stirred, Xu Jiao found the water rushing into her body, filling her with demonic energy until she felt both uncomfortable and swollen.

She rarely used all her strength to push Xia Jingzhe away, “No, no, no…”

Xia Jingzhe asked gently and patiently, “Why not? Is Senior Sister uncomfortable? If you don’t want this, why are you biting me so hard?”

Xu Jiao couldn’t speak, tears falling like broken pearls.

She couldn’t help but shake her head, voicing, “So swollen…”

Xia Jingzhe lowered her head to kiss Xu Jiao’s neck, asking again, “Does it hurt?”

Xu Jiao nodded and then shook her head, overwhelmed by the demonic energy surging through her body, feeling both extreme pleasure and pain, as if oscillating between heaven and hell.

This was an experience she had never had before.

Xia Jingzhe laughed coolly.

She said, “Remember this feeling, Senior Sister—”

“This ecstasy, and this pain, only I can give you.”

Even if Xu Jiao didn’t love her, she would use all her strength to leave a deep mark on this cold heart. If she couldn’t reach her heart, she would make sure Xu Jiao’s body remembered.
