Volume Eight: Those Years When I Was an Alpha
Permanent Mark
A familiar voice, a familiar scent.
Jiang Yichuan looked over and saw Wen Nuan sitting beside her, a smile gracing her lips.
“You… what are you doing here?”
No wonder there was a commotion and screams in the classroom just now; it turned out Mu Wen Nuan had come to the First Military Academy.
Wen Nuan smiled. “Xiao Chuanchuan, I’m your teacher, have you forgotten?”
Jiang Yichuan’s face flushed. “That kind of teacher and a teacher at school…”
…are different.
Seeing Jiang Yichuan’s inexplicable blush, Xi Chen asked, confused, “What teacher?”
Jiang Yichuan found it hard to explain and lowered her head in embarrassment.
Wen Nuan offered a simple explanation. “Starting today, I am an external instructor at the First Military Academy, responsible for teaching all students combat and mecha operation.”
The classroom first fell silent, then erupted with earth-shattering screams and cheers.
“Oh my god, did I hear that right? Mu Wen Nuan is going to be our teacher?!”
“You heard right, Mu Wen Nuan is going to be our teacher!”
“I wipe1, the First Military Academy is really cow p#ssy2, they even managed to invite Mu Wen Nuan to teach us, ahhh…”
“Ahhh, I love you so much, ahhh, Teacher Mu, ahhhhh…”
“Teacher Mu, please mark me, ahhhhhh…”
Several omegas frantically roared the love and adoration in their hearts.
When Jiang Yichuan heard the word “mark,” she lifted her gaze to look at the few omegas who were shouting the loudest. They were all omegas from families with rather powerful backgrounds.
Those few omegas suddenly felt a chilly, sinister wind at their backs, causing each of them to shiver uncontrollably.
The system looked at the change on the data console and frowned. 【Ah, the female lead’s blackening value has risen by 0.2!】
Wen Nuan was puzzled. “Why?”
The system guessed: 【What did you do to the female lead just now? Did you make her angry?】
“I didn’t do anything.”
【The increase in her blackening value is related to you. You must have provoked her!】
“…”
Wen Nuan looked at the calm-faced Jiang Yichuan. Just a moment ago, she was smiling at her, but now she was looking at others with a cold expression.
Wen Nuan glanced at the crowd’s frenzy over her and Jiang Yichuan’s current indifference.
She couldn’t help but laugh to herself; this little girl had eaten vinegar3.
Wen Nuan stood up and walked to the front. As she passed by Jiang Yichuan, she extended a hand, and her fair earlobe instantly turned red.
Jiang Yichuan watched Wen Nuan walk to the front of the class, but her palm had been lightly hooked.
“Alright students, please quiet down. We’re about to start class.”
All the students immediately fell silent, each one suppressing their excited urge to scream as they fixed their gazes on the person on the stage.
The person on the stage had a face like jade, as clean and pure as the morning sun.
One frown, one smile4, she was bright and captivating.
That pair of amorous eyes of hers was bewitching and enchanting. It was a stunning beauty, yet it carried a dashing, heroic air that made it impossible for anyone to look away.
“First, let me introduce myself. My name is Mu Wen Nuan, a student of the tenth graduating class of the First Military Academy. I believe everyone has some understanding of me, so I won’t go into excessive detail and take up class time. Let’s begin.”
Everyone responded, “Okay—”
Wen Nuan’s gaze swept across the room and landed on Jiang Yichuan. “Everyone has already learned the basics of combat, so today we will begin learning about confrontation and striking.”
“Would this student be willing to assist the teacher?”
Jiang Yichuan was taken aback.
“Teacher, I can! I can assist you,” an omega raised their hand.
“Teacher, I can do it, I’m durable,” the alphas volunteered.
“Teacher, pick me, pick me,” the betas also went wild, hoping Wen Nuan would give them a chance.
Watching everyone scramble to get close to Wen Nuan, Jiang Yichuan narrowed her eyes, stepped onto the stage, and said coldly, “The teacher called on me.”
The crowd, frightened by Jiang Yichuan’s glare, retreated, not daring to compete any longer.
The system said, heartbroken: 【The female lead’s blackening value went up by another 0.2, hurry up and do something!?】
Wen Nuan watched Jiang Yichuan walk towards her with a cold expression, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. “This little vinegar bun.”
“Don’t worry, she’s easy to coax.”
After all, “she” had once taught her how to coax people.
Wen Nuan raised her hand and looked at Jiang Yichuan. “Let’s begin. You attack me first.”
She turned to the students below. “You can all observe how I defend.”
“Okay—”
Jiang Yichuan clenched her fists and charged. Seeing this, Wen Nuan immediately dodged to the side. The next second, she ducked sharply to avoid Jiang Yichuan’s flying kick.
The crowd gasped, watching the intense confrontation between the two with shock and admiration. Jiang Yichuan was constantly on the fierce offensive, while Mu Wen Nuan didn’t counterattack, only dodging her fists and kicks.
Jiang Yichuan grabbed Wen Nuan’s shoulder, yanked hard, and intended to give Wen Nuan a shoulder throw.
Suddenly, the base of her waist was blocked, the force was dissipated, and the back of her knee was struck by Wen Nuan, causing her to kneel powerlessly on the ground.
Jiang Yichuan raised her right hand, her five fingers bent like a claw as she swiped backward. Wen Nuan dodged, wrapped her right elbow around Jiang Yichuan’s slender neck, and slid her left hand into the crowd’s blind spot, slipping it under Jiang Yichuan’s clothes and extremely roguishly caressing the soft flesh of her waist.
Jiang Yichuan’s waist was very sensitive. She could have tried to break free from the hold on her neck, but the touch on her waist made her lose all her strength in an instant, and her whole body went limp in Wen Nuan’s arms.
The heat from Wen Nuan’s palm made her heart tremble, as that soft hand deliberately overturned the clouds and created rain5 inside her clothes.
“Do you surrender, student?”
Warm breath sprayed against her ear, dyeing Jiang Yichuan’s earlobe red.
She whispered softly, “Student, why are your ears red? Are you hurt somewhere?”
But the hand inside her clothes was not as gentle or concerned as her tone suggested. Instead, it climbed forcefully upward until it reached the peak, plucking the flower bud on its summit that was a bud holding itself, waiting to blossom6.
Jiang Yichuan bit her lip, holding back the moan that was about to escape. Her eyes seemed to be wet with water, shimmering and bright, making one’s heart soften just by looking at them.
She whispered in a small voice, as if begging for mercy, “…Teacher, I lose.”
Wen Nuan chuckled lightly. “Good.”
The crowd watched as Mu Wen Nuan overpowered Jiang Yichuan on the stage, rendering her unable to fight back until she finally had to admit defeat in shame.
They saw that Jiang Yichuan’s face was red with anger. It made sense; Jiang Yichuan had never been beaten down before, completely unable to retaliate. Anyone would be red in the face with anger.
Xi Chen looked at Jiang Yichuan with a strange expression. Others might not see it, but he could see her shy demeanor perfectly clearly.
And the corner of her shirt that she hadn’t had time to fix—it had been neatly tucked into her pants before she went on stage, and now it was all pulled out.
What happened?
Did combat now involve pulling on clothes?!
“You two had a lot of fun fighting, huh?”
Jiang Yichuan looked at Xi Chen, bewildered. “What?”
Xi Chen shielded Jiang Yichuan from view and said helplessly, “Fix your clothes.”
Jiang Yichuan realized what he meant, looked at the pulled-out hem of her shirt, and immediately straightened it.
Her expression returned to normal as if the person who had been so shy just moments ago wasn’t her. “Thanks.”
For the lesson on attacking, Wen Nuan didn’t call on Jiang Yichuan. Instead, her gaze fell on Xi Chen.
“This student, please assist the teacher.”
“…” Xi Chen suddenly felt like he wasn’t going to make it off the stage alive today.
As expected—
The crowd watched as Xi Chen, like a flimsy reed, was flipped back and forth in Wen Nuan’s hands. One moment he was kicked to the corner of the stage, the next he was thrown to the center, and then he was pinned down, unable to fight back. Just as he was about to beg for mercy, he was punched by Wen Nuan so hard he couldn’t speak, and could only curl up on the stage, whimpering.
The crowd collectively swallowed, their eyes wide and mouths agape.
They looked at Wen Nuan with reverence and fear, and when they looked at Xi Chen lying on the stage, their eyes were filled with sympathy and pity.
“Ah, Teacher Mu, the back of your hand is bleeding.”
Xi Chen, who was on the verge of being beaten to death: “…”
Wasn’t anyone going to do something about him?
Jiang Yichuan saw that the back of Wen Nuan’s hand had been scratched by a metal buckle on Xi Chen’s clothes and was bleeding.
She immediately jumped onto the stage, looked nervously at the wound on Wen Nuan’s hand, and asked anxiously, “…Does it hurt? I’ll take you to the school doctor.”
Xi Chen: “…”
He was the one who should be seeing the school doctor, right?
Is anyone going to help him?!
Wen Nuan smiled. “It’s nothing. A few students, please take student Xi to the school infirmary, have him drink some nutrient solution, and get some rest.”
“Yes, teacher.”
Five or six alphas and betas came up and carried Xi Chen away. Xi Chen felt utterly exhausted and finally passed out from the helplessness of it all.
“Teacher Mu, should I take you to the infirmary to have a look?” an omega asked with concern.
“Teacher Mu, my family owns a hospital, let me take you to see my father,” a beta offered eagerly.
“Teacher Mu, my family’s private doctor is incredibly skilled, I guarantee you won’t have a scar,” an alpha suggested.
…
Wen Nuan felt the hand gripping her wrist tighten, the force impossible to ignore.
She looked at Jiang Yichuan, who had her head down and wasn’t speaking, and politely declined the others one by one. “No need, it’s just a small wound. Thank you all for your concern. The next class is about to start, you should go.”
Seeing that Wen Nuan had refused them all, the crowd didn’t insist and left the combat room, each one looking back reluctantly.
Just as Jiang Yichuan was about to leave, her hand was gripped tightly.
“Where is this student going?”
Jiang Yichuan kept her head down. “To class.”
“Is the student planning to abandon her injured teacher here?”
She said in a low voice, “Didn’t teacher say… it was nothing.”
“Then is this student planning to abandon her injured girlfriend, her future wife, here?”
Jiang Yichuan’s pupils trembled. She turned around and looked at the wound, which was already starting to clot.
“…I still have class.”
Wen Nuan pouted, looking pitifully at Jiang Yichuan. “Xiao Chuanchuan, it really hurts.”
“…I’m skipping class.”
Jiang Yichuan pulled Wen Nuan and started walking.
Wen Nuan noticed the direction wasn’t towards the infirmary, nor was it towards the school gate.
“Where are we going?”
Jiang Yichuan didn’t speak, leading Wen Nuan through a series of turns into an equipment room. It was in a very remote location, but the room was very clean, as if someone had deliberately tidied it.
Wen Nuan remembered that this was Jiang Yichuan’s little hideout, a deserted equipment room. Previously, whenever Jiang Yichuan entered her heat period, she would stay here to avoid everyone’s attention.
“Have a seat. I’ll put some medicine on it for you.”
Wen Nuan sat on a mat and watched Jiang Yichuan take a first-aid kit out of a worn-out cabinet and walk over.
“Is this your secret base?”
Jiang Yichuan took out a cotton swab and antiseptic. Hearing her question, she nodded. “Mhm.”
Wen Nuan watched her carefully apply the medicine. “Xiao Chuanchuan is unhappy.”
The cotton swab paused. Jiang Yichuan shook her head. “…No.”
“Xiao Chuanchuan, you pause for one to two seconds when you lie.”
Jiang Yichuan bit her lip. “A little.”
“Why are you unhappy?”
“It’s just some small things.”
“Because you lost the fight to me?”
Jiang Yichuan shook her head. “No.”
Wen Nuan had always been formidable; almost no one could defeat her with a single spear and one horse7, otherwise, how could the Evil Ghost Bandit Group have been given such a headache by her?
“Then was it because I touched you that you’re unhappy?”
Jiang Yichuan’s face flushed. “No.”
“Then is it because I’m so popular that it’s making you feel insecure?”
The motion of applying medicine stopped for a moment. Just as Jiang Yichuan was about to deny it, Wen Nuan’s voice came from above.
“Xiao Chuanchuan, I’ll know if you’re lying.”
She lifted Jiang Yichuan’s chin. “So, is this the reason my Xiao Chuanchuan is angry?”
Jiang Yichuan pressed her lips together and nodded. “I’m sorry.”
She was being too selfish.
Wen Nuan smiled in satisfaction. “What is there to be sorry about? I’m your girlfriend. You can ask me to do anything.”
“If you don’t want me to get too close to them, that’s fine.”
“If you don’t want me to smile at them, that’s also fine.”
“No matter what you ask of me, I will agree to it.”
An indescribable light flashed in Jiang Yichuan’s eyes. She pulled her hair aside, exposing her glands.
“Then… I want you to mark me. Can you?”
“A permanent mark.”
