Trending Again – Chapter 7

Matching outfits? It’s a thing, try to understand couple fashion!

Si Meng took off her blindfold, looked at the vast blue sea in front of her, and unconsciously swallowed hard. Some unpleasant memories were instantly triggered, and after hesitating for three seconds, she immediately turned and walked away.

Si Meng: “The sea is so deep; my teammates probably won’t dare to come here. That’s right, I should go into the jungle and find them.”

As Si Meng quickly noted down the route, she also thought about what wild ingredients she could use to cook. It felt like she was leisurely strolling through her own backyard.

On the other side, Lin Hanyue was sitting on a swing, daydreaming. This game was too simple; finding teammates based on WiFi signals meant staying in one place was the safest. Running around would only make it harder for teammates to locate her.

But after waiting for a long time, why hadn’t her teammate, who was a bit of a slacker, arrived yet?

Suddenly, there was a rustling in the nearby bushes. Lin Hanyue immediately became alert and swiftly moved behind the other person, intending to catch them off guard. She saw the person crouched behind the bushes, their posture resembling an ostrich burying its head in the sand.

Lin Hanyue silently approached, pressing her phone against the person’s waist, and sternly threatened, “Don’t speak. If you turn around, I’ll eliminate you.” The person jolted and remained as still as a log. Lin Hanyue carefully examined the person’s clothing style, which was somewhat similar to her own preferred style. Could this person be a stand-in brought by the show’s production team to confuse her teammate?

As Lin Hanyue was pondering this, she let her guard down for a moment. In that instant, Si Meng, in her ostrich-like posture, noticed the opening and used all her strength to pounce directly onto Lin Hanyue’s chest. She tightly wrapped her hands around Lin Hanyue’s slender waist, causing her to gasp for breath. Si Meng slipped and ended up falling into Lin Hanyue’s arms, with their faces pressed closely together.

Si Meng thought that since they were already caught, she might as well make the best of it. She originally wanted to use a “waist-throwing” move on her captor. However, she realized that this person was quite heavy!

Si Meng turned her head and found herself on top of Lin Hanyue’s face, which appeared ten times larger than usual. Lin Hanyue had long eyelashes, flawless skin with no visible pores, a slight blush on her cheeks, and she was breathing softly, gazing at Si Meng with a hint of coyness in her eyes.

Their breaths entwined, and Si Meng smelled the faint fragrance of hyacinth on Lin Hanyue’s body—subtle yet alluring, crisp yet sweet. Si Meng’s throat tightened, and her ears slowly turned red. She really, really wanted to seal those alluring red lips…

Lin Hanyue freed her hand, turned the situation around, and placed Si Meng beneath her. She lifted Si Meng’s chin and coldly asked, “Is this what you meant by ‘waiting for me obediently at home’?”

Si Meng noticed that Lin Hanyue seemed genuinely angry and immediately became flustered, shouting, “Um, listen to my explanation, no, let me explain!”

Si Meng attempted to say something more, but Lin Hanyue covered her mouth.

“Shh, the photographer is coming.”

They maintained their positions, one on top and one below, until the photographer left.

Lin Hanyue got off Si Meng and resumed her usual elegant and aloof demeanor. Her gaze was usually cool and distant, but when she looked into Si Meng’s naive eyes, Lin Hanyue’s anger seemed to dissipate. Well, they hadn’t seen each other in four years, and she had learned to lie.

Lin Hanyue inwardly annoyed, “Remember, don’t reveal our relationship. Pretend we don’t know each other.”

Si Meng twisted her fingers like a submissive daughter-in-law and obediently replied, “Sure, I understand.”

In an instant, they put some distance between them, and the photographer, as if sensing something, followed closely. Seeing the two of them dressed similarly and exuding tension, the photographer thought they were about to have a confrontation due to a fashion clash and was ready to capture a close-up shot.

In the end, neither of the two said anything. Lin Hanyue continued to walk on her own, and Si Meng followed her like a little tail, taking short steps.

While the two of them didn’t tear each other apart, their live-streaming fans started to argue, dividing into two factions.

The “Fashion Clash” faction: “How dare that little streamer piggyback on the major influencer’s massive following? She’s even okay with dressing the same as the big shot with her bear-like appearance?”

The “Couple” faction: “Clearly, those are from the same series but different styles. Don’t overinterpret it. It’s obviously a couple’s matching outfit. Let’s toast to that!”
