Trending Again – Chapter 35

Si Meng was embraced by the other person and was momentarily stunned before seeing the excited face of the girl.

Upon closer inspection, it was Ning Keke, the lively girl they had previously filmed with on the show 《The Life of a Celebrity Chef》.

“Ah, Mengmeng! We meet again! I missed you so much!” Ning Keke bounced around, holding Si Meng’s hand, completely unaware of what she was about to face.

Si Meng tapped her forehead and said leisurely, “You’re so late. Aren’t you afraid of being punished by the instructor? You better think of a flawless excuse.”

“Eh? There will be punishment? I thought we were just here to have fun.” Ning Keke immediately drooped her head in dejection.

Si Meng couldn’t understand it. Ning Keke had such abundant resources as the only daughter of the Ning Group. She should have been spoon-fed in the entertainment industry, but she remained lukewarm and unnoticed.

Perhaps, like Si Meng, she had a “salted fish” mentality.

Si Meng returned to her bedside and immediately lay down, taking advantage of any opportunity to slack off. The others were momentarily stunned but didn’t say anything, preoccupied with their own tasks.

The night passed, and surprisingly, they had no issues. On the other hand, other teams were struggling and suffering. This display of power was quite impressive.

Their fifth teammate still hadn’t arrived, and everyone continued their monotonous practice of basic skills for a week before gradually being divided into different skill levels.

Among the hundred or so people, there were always a few standout individuals who shone brightly, captivating everyone’s attention. These individuals successfully made it through the selection process.

Si Meng and her group, unsurprisingly, were placed in Class C. It wasn’t because they lacked excellence, but rather because their specializations were extremely distinct and didn’t complement each other when combined.

Si Meng excelled in acting, Ning Keke in dancing, Fu Wenwen in singing, and Jiang Chixia in physical performance.

During morning practice that day, Si Meng and her group arrived at the training room for Class C, only to find their classmates being kicked out and eagerly watching Class A practice inside.

Curiosity got the better of Fu Wenwen, who sneaked in to gather information. After a while, she stormed out, infuriated.

“What happened?” Ning Keke asked.

“The people from Class A were too much. Their training room had a power outage, so they came over and occupied our classroom,” Fu Wenwen said, her face puffed up with anger.

“What should we do?” Jiang Chixia said, and immediately three pairs of eyes turned towards Si Meng. In their eyes, Si Meng had the most ingenious ideas.

Si Meng’s lips curved into a smile and she said, “Did the fierce instructor tell us to start class first and then come to inspect later?”

“Yeah, and if she catches us slacking off, we’ll be punished.”

“Then let’s give her a good show,” Si Meng winked, wearing an expression that showed she loved to see a spectacle.

The four of them formed a circle, whispering and chattering, discussing something that was unknown to others.

Just as the students from Class A were halfway through their dance routine, they noticed that the music had been abruptly stopped. They looked over and saw the group from Class C, standing at the door with an imposing presence.

“Hey, we’ve taken over this classroom for our Class A. Those with common sense should leave.”

“Tch, does your Class C even need training? You’ll be eliminated sooner or later anyway.”

“Hahaha, even with our eyes closed, we can dance better than you.”

The students from Class A exchanged remarks, each one filled with mocking words that were unbearable to hear.

“Don’t go too far.”

“We from Class C aren’t afraid of you. If you don’t accept it, come and fight us.”

Si Meng and her friends added fuel to the fire from the sidelines as the students from Class C stepped forward, surrounding the students from Class A in a unified front.

One tall student from Class A made a sudden push forward, accidentally knocking down a girl from Class C. Fu Wenwen reached out to help her up but was instead kicked by a student from Class A, causing tears to well up in her eyes.

“Apologize! Did you do that on purpose?” Si Meng stood in front of Fu Wenwen, glaring fiercely at the offender.

“It… It was her own fault for not being careful. You… Ah, it hurts!” The tall student tried to defend herself but was swiftly grabbed by Si Meng, who twisted her wrist and threw her backward, causing her to wince in pain.

“No apology? Then an eye for an eye. Class C won’t be bullied easily,” Si Meng said, raising her foot to strike the girl’s face. The girl let out a frightened scream but realized that Si Meng’s foot stopped just inches away from her face, as Si Meng looked at her with disdain.

Feeling insulted by Si Meng’s actions, the tall student glanced around at the others, fearing that Si Meng might target her next.

The rest of Class A rushed over, and Class C was not about to back down either. The students from both classes engaged in a chaotic brawl, throwing punches and kicks, creating a lively scene.

The class leader of Class A furrowed her brows tightly. It wouldn’t be good if things escalated further. They were top students, and they shouldn’t be getting into trouble because of these lowlifes.

Unable to stop the fight, the class leader of Class A turned to Si Meng and ordered, “Make your classmates stop fighting. Don’t you want to avoid making this situation worse?”

Si Meng rolled her eyes and had no intention of listening to her. Make it worse? Wasn’t it better to make a bigger fuss? After all, she wouldn’t be held responsible, and it wouldn’t be her problem.

“Hey, I’m talking to you. Why are you ignoring me?” The class leader of Class A grew impatient and walked over, blocking Si Meng’s path.

“Hey, who do you think you are? If you have no manners, then keep your mouth shut!” Ning Keke stood in front of Si Meng, baring her teeth and claws like a protective guard dog.

The class leader of Class A struggled to get around her and approached Si Meng, only to be stopped by the 1.8-meter tall Jiang Chixia, who regarded her like a venomous snake.

With no other choice, the class leader of Class A reluctantly introduced herself, saying, “I am Lu Tianyi, the class leader of Class A. Can we talk and find a resolution?”

Si Meng crossed her arms and responded without hesitation, “You want to find a resolution?”

“Yes.”

“Alright then, apologize,” Si Meng sneered.

“You… Fine, I’ll make her apologize to you,” the class leader of Class A gritted her teeth, making a concession. Her superior demeanor suggested that she had made a significant compromise.

“It’s not just her apologizing to us, it’s Class A apologizing to all members of Class C.”

The class leader of Class A showed a hint of disdain. They were the pride of the school, how could they apologize to these underachievers?

“Don’t push it too far. It won’t be good for you if you offend us.”

“So what if I do? Are you trying to suppress me, relying on your family connections? If you dare, let’s have a competition. Whoever loses apologizes, and the winner will be respected,” Si Meng taunted, her face full of provocation. Her insolent tone was infuriating, and it immediately ignited a fire within the class leader of Class A.

“Fine, how do you want to compete? Are we supposed to be afraid of you?” the class leader of Class A retorted.

Si Meng pondered for a moment and said, “In one month, during the class elimination competition, select five teams from each class. It will be a 5v5 showdown. Let’s make a bet and see who comes out on top.”

The class leader of Class A wore a confident expression. Their class had gathered all the top students. Were they really afraid of losing to this group of mediocre students?

“Alright, it’s a deal. Now you can tell them to stop fighting. If it continues, it will escalate further,” the class leader of Class A stretched her neck to look outside, realizing that the commotion had attracted quite a bit of attention.

Si Meng licked the corner of her lips and smirked, saying, “When did I say I would help you stop them? Hey, don’t block my view of the spectacle.”

“You… How can you be like this?” the class leader of Class A stomped her foot in frustration.

Si Meng and her group felt quite pleased with themselves. Si Meng snapped her fingers, and soon a powerful angry roar could be heard from outside the door.

“What are you all doing? Stop it! Don’t fight anymore!” The fierce instructor squeezed her way into the crowd, but she ended up taking a few punches for no reason. It was unclear whether these guys did it intentionally or not, but all those punches landed on the teacher’s face.
