The Passerby Female Supporting Character – Chapter 3

Red Mark

Looking at the two twisted male corpses lying on the ground and Chi Qianning staring at her from afar, Song Linlin stood there holding her sword, conflicted for quite a while.

No way, she really couldn’t do it!

Just looking at those two corpses was enough to make her physically ill. Song Linlin’s hand holding the sword trembled slightly, her arm raising and falling as she silently told herself these two deserved to die, so what she was about to do wasn’t wrong.

Finally, after brewing for a minute or two, she raised the blade then dropped it, and with a “pa” sound, the long sword fell to the ground.

Song Linlin wanted to cry but had no tears, collapsing to the ground as she wailed: “My lord, I… I really can’t do it!”

This was too terrifying – she had never even killed a chicken, let alone this…

The other side fell silent. Song Linlin felt like she saw the other party roll her eyes at her, though she didn’t dare to verify if it was true or not.

She carefully got up, hugging the spoils she had collected, ignoring the pain in her body as she jogged back. She stopped near Chi Qianning, crouched down, and showed a ingratiating smile:

“My lord, all the belongings of those two are here!”

Song Linlin specifically held out a small bottle, blinking as she said: “This small bottle was hidden the deepest, it should be something good!”

After speaking, she raised her eyes to observe the expression of the person opposite, only to meet those red eyes, cold and dangerous, filled with scrutiny.

The feeling of being targeted by a dangerous creature appeared again, and Song Linlin hurriedly averted her eyes, not daring to maintain eye contact.

Chi Qianning looked at the bottle in the fair palm but didn’t immediately take it, causing Song Linlin to break out in cold sweat.

What did this mean?

She wouldn’t want to chop off my head just because I didn’t behead those two and string them together, would she?!

Would it still be in time if I went now…

After Song Linlin’s wild imaginations ran rampant, the person opposite finally made a move. Chi Qianning extended her hand, her fingers long and slender, with a silver snake-shaped ring on her middle finger reflecting light in the moonlight, particularly eye-catching.

The scenario Song Linlin had imagined of the other party grabbing her neck didn’t materialize. Chi Qianning merely picked up the small jade bottle, her fingers lightly brushing against Song Linlin’s palm, transmitting an icy sensation through the skin.

So cold!

Song Linlin was startled – it wasn’t even that cold out, how could her hands be so icy?

However, she didn’t dare to ask about it. Song Linlin withdrew her hand, looking guiltily at the other party, unable to fathom what was on her mind.

Chi Qianning’s fingers held the jade bottle, examining it for a few seconds. She could feel Song Linlin’s gaze fixed on her, so she opened the lid.

The bottle’s mouth gradually tilted, and the liquid inside was about to drip.

Song Linlin: ???

What was she doing?

Under Song Linlin’s puzzled gaze, a few drops of transparent liquid fell from the bottle’s mouth. Upon contact with the ground, the liquid instantly evaporated with a “zizi” sound. The previously green grass immediately turned yellow and withered, corroding in the next second, and even the soil wasn’t spared.

The ground instantly caved in to form a hole, and this was just the result of one or two drops of liquid from the bottle.

Song Linlin: !!!

What the hell! This turned out to be poison!

Her heart skipped a beat as Song Linlin looked up at Chi Qianning’s face in astonishment, wanting to explain herself but unable to make a sound despite her mouth opening and closing, not knowing what to say.

Those red eyes staring at her narrowed slightly, the dangerous aura growing stronger. Song Linlin’s face crumpled as she tried to defend herself:

“I know this looks intentional, but I really didn’t know, will you believe me…”

Her voice grew less confident toward the end, though in her heart she felt this truly wasn’t her fault. The small bottle had been hidden very discreetly, and the bottle’s material looked extraordinary.

Wouldn’t any normal person assume it contained something precious at first glance? Who would have thought it contained such deadly poison!

No, wait, demon cultivators weren’t normal people to begin with…

She nervously watched Chi Qianning, terrified that the other party would strike her dead with a single palm strike.

Then Song Linlin saw her roll her eyes.

“Where are the Qiankun Rings [乾坤戒 | qiánkūn jiè | spatial storage rings]?” Chi Qianning’s tone carried a hint of impatience.

“Huh?”

Song Linlin was confused for a moment, then recalled the novel’s setting and remembered she was in the cultivation world, where spatial treasure objects for storing items existed.

She awkwardly coughed twice, saying guiltily: “I forgot to take them… I’ll go get them for you right now!”

Fearing the other party would blame her, Song Linlin hurriedly stood up and quickly ran to the large pit where the two corpses lay. When she reached the two bodies, she discovered they indeed had rings on their fingers, something she had completely overlooked earlier.

After removing the two rings, Song Linlin didn’t dare delay and immediately ran back, eagerly presenting the two rings.

“My lord, here they are!”

Chi Qianning reached out to take the Qiankun Rings, extending her consciousness into them. A magical script lit up on the ring, blocking her probe.

Song Linlin watched the glowing magical script with curiosity, but it lasted less than two seconds before shattering into countless tiny points of light that slowly dissipated into the air.

“Wow!”

She let out a small sound of amazement, like someone who had never seen the world.

Chi Qianning gave her a bland glance, and Song Linlin immediately shut her mouth, blinking her eyes to appear harmless.

“Please continue…”

Withdrawing her gaze, Chi Qianning’s consciousness delved deep into the ring’s internal space, carefully examining everything inside. The contents were indeed much better than the two collections of poison Song Linlin had gathered earlier.

The two demon cultivators had hidden their real treasures in their personal Qiankun Rings. After checking one, Chi Qianning casually tossed it to Song Linlin and picked up the other one for careful examination.

Song Linlin quickly caught the ring thrown her way, afraid of damaging it – this was a rare item, very expensive! There must be quite a few good treasures inside.

How could that person treat it like trash, just tossing it to her so casually?

Wait, if this was trash, didn’t that make her a trash can?

Thinking about the insurmountable gulf between their powers, Song Linlin could only silently endure it. Being able to keep her life was good enough for now.

Quickly breaking through the mark left on the Qiankun Ring, Chi Qianning’s consciousness probed inside, examining the contents, then her brows furrowed.

Obviously, this one didn’t contain what she was looking for either. Most of what these demon cultivators had collected were battle-related items, and the few jade bottles contained nothing but poisons and some basic healing medicines.

These things were of no help to Chi Qianning.

She disdainfully tossed this ring to Song Linlin as well, then fell silent, her brows tightly knitted as she pondered something.

Song Linlin didn’t dare disturb her, carefully storing away the Qiankun Ring that had just been thrown. Although the other party didn’t care about it now and had even tossed it to her, who knew if she might want it back later?

If she lost it, Song Linlin couldn’t afford to compensate even if she sold herself.

An eerie silence fell over the atmosphere. Chi Qianning didn’t speak, and Song Linlin naturally didn’t dare move around, just crouching near her, even softening her breathing, occasionally glancing up at the other party.

For a moment, there was no movement at all. Song Linlin’s legs were almost numb from crouching, but she didn’t dare to just sit down, only able to complain silently in her heart.

What could she be thinking about for so long…

Maybe I should quietly sit down, it shouldn’t make any noise to disturb her.

Song Linlin moved slowly, but the next second she heard the other party’s voice.

“You, come here.”

“Huh?”

Song Linlin was startled, thinking her movement had been noticed and had disturbed the other party.

That shouldn’t be possible, right? I was very careful.

Song Linlin raised her head to stare at Chi Qianning, wanting to see if she was angry, only to see the silver-haired beauty seemed to have made some kind of decision.

Her silver hair seemed to glow in the moonlight, making her already pale face appear even more frail, with only those red eyes exceptionally vivid, watching her with the dangerous gaze of a venomous snake eyeing its prey.

Her bloodless lips parted again, repeating her previous words: “Come here.”

Song Linlin had a bad premonition, but had no reason to refuse. She steeled herself and moved a bit in the other party’s direction, getting closer, but clearly still keeping a person’s distance between them.

“Closer,” Chi Qianning emphasized expressionlessly.

“Oh…”

Song Linlin approached the other party’s side with little confidence. Uncertain of what the other party intended to do, her heart was racing, and cold sweat was about to break out again.

Getting closer, she looked up at the other party, only now noticing that even her eyelashes were silvery-white, and that face was truly flawless.

Though her heart was panicking terribly, Song Linlin couldn’t help but marvel:

What an magnificent face!

She couldn’t look like this even in her dreams.

Then Song Linlin saw the other party reach out, and her entire body’s hair stood on end in shock.

No way? Did she want to kill her?

Song Linlin didn’t dare look, instinctively shutting her eyes tight, her brows slightly furrowed, wanting to retract her neck. However, the expected pain didn’t come. Instead, she felt an ice-cold hand grab her shoulder and pull.

With irresistible force, Song Linlin tumbled forward into the other party’s embrace. Opening her eyes, she saw those silvery-white strands of hair against her cheek, and her chin was lifted, exposing her snow-white, slender neck.

Like prey voluntarily exposing its vulnerable throat.

“Let me bite you,” Chi Qianning said.

Song Linlin dazedly responded with a sound of agreement.

The next moment, Chi Qianning’s canine teeth lengthened and sharpened, her red eyes growing deeper in color. Without any hesitation, she bit into that snow-white and vulnerable neck, sharp fangs piercing through the skin without resistance. Sweet crimson blood immediately welled up, only to be greedily consumed clean.

“Ah!”

As the most sensitive skin of her neck was pierced by sharp fangs, Song Linlin let out a pained moan. Her body trembled slightly as the other party’s lips pressed against her skin, forcefully drawing blood from her neck. Her chin was forced up by those cold fingers, leaving her no way to escape.

“It hurts…”

Song Linlin’s voice broke as she trembled and gasped.

How could there be such a person – their whole body cold as ice, yet their lips and breath scorching hot.

A strange sensation arose, and Song Linlin’s entire body went weak. She struggled to raise her hand to push against Chi Qianning’s shoulder, but her strength had become so feeble that the gesture seemed more like token resistance.

Her spiritual power was gradually draining away, flowing out along with her blood as it was drawn out by the other party. She could only lie powerlessly in the other’s embrace.

Seeming unsatisfied, Chi Qianning increased her force. She could feel the body in her arms trembling more violently, but paid it no mind. The sweet metallic taste of blood filled her mouth as bloodthirsty desire overwhelmed her mind, screaming for more.

The rate of spiritual power loss accelerated, and Song Linlin’s already limited spiritual power was instantly plundered by half.

The sharp pain of skin being pierced continued as scorching breaths fell rapidly.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Chi Qianning released her forceful grip on Song Linlin’s chin, breathing slightly heavily as she let go of the person in her embrace.

A red mark remained, blooming wetly and alluringly. A drop of blood trickled from the wound, like a red pearl, breaking free and sliding down along the skin.

The red liquid was crystalline, carrying a sweet fragrance.

Chi Qianning couldn’t resist drawing close, following her instinctive desire to lick clean that drop of blood.

“Mmh…”

Song Linlin trembled again, caught off guard by the unexpected lick. Her dark blue eyes were misty as they met those red ones, watching as the other party extended her tongue to clean up the blood that had flowed out.

Chi Qianning’s pale lips were stained with bright red blood, and her previously cold red eyes now held intense desire and fascination as she stared fixedly at Song Linlin.

Her voice carried obvious pleasure: “So fragrant…”
