Is This the Legendary “Wet Body Seduction”?1
Seeing she was so shocked, Yu Xi didn’t answer and instead asked, “You’re not willing?”
Yuan Yue couldn’t process it for a long moment and stammered, “I… Isn’t this a little too sudden?”
Yu Xi’s gaze was deep as she looked at her. “Don’t panic. Of course we can’t get married right away. Even if you wanted to marry me, we’d still have to get your family’s permission first, right?”
Yuan Yue had nearly been scared to death just now, thinking Yu Xi was about to drag her to the Civil Affairs Bureau2. But on second thought, even if they wanted to get married, it was impossible for two people of the same sex to register in the country right now.
Besides, they hadn’t even gotten past the difficult hurdle of her family. She was really worrying for nothing.
Yuan Yue felt a little dejected at the thought of all the future difficulties.
Jie Ran had thought a happy event was about to take place, but it turned out to be an episode of empty joy3. She sighed, “It seems things aren’t going too smoothly for you two either. Keep it up. I’m still waiting to drink your happy wine.”4
This sort of thing wasn’t convenient to discuss in someone else’s home, so the topic of marriage was temporarily concluded.
After finishing breakfast, Jie Ran prepared some fruit, and the three of them sat in the living room, chatting idly.
Yu Xi asked her, “Are you really just going to stay home all the time like this?”
Jie Ran replied with a look of indifference, “Well, I haven’t gotten any appearance notices5 lately, so I’ll just consider it a vacation.”
Yu Xi recalled the gossip that had been bubbling and spreading like crazy6 online not long ago. Logically, the situation had blown up and the impact should have been terrible, yet Jie Ran was completely composed and at ease. Although Jie Ran had told her over the phone that everything was fine, Yu Xi was still a little worried. “So, how much longer are you going to rest?”
“Not sure yet.” Jie Ran quickly ate a red grape and said calmly, “It depends on the company’s arrangements.”
Regarding the previous rumors, no matter how capable the management agency7 was, they couldn’t possibly stamp out all online discussions. So, they decided to play along with the scheme8, releasing news that Jie Ran would be starring in a second female-female romance9 film. This way, everyone would just assume the “coming out of the cabinet”10 news was just Jie Ran’s team stir-frying some hype,11 and the topic would naturally be diverted.
The company was in the middle of preparing the new film for Jie Ran, which was why she was at home waiting for news.
Jie Ran was happy to be so carefree, finally having time to chat leisurely with friends. She suddenly thought of something. “Oh, right. A friend of mine recently got a new film, but the director thinks she’s too fat and is forcing her to lose weight. She happens to be looking for a personal trainer, so I recommended you to her.”
Yu Xi considered it for a moment. “I don’t have a problem with that.”
Jie Ran said, “I’ll have her contact you then.”
Yuan Yue had been listening to them talk for ages and finally got a chance to chime in, asking eagerly, “Who are you guys talking about? A guy or a girl?”
Jie Ran acted as if she’d only just noticed her, exclaiming dramatically, “Aiya, it’s a female celebrity! Did I do something wrong?”
Yuan Yue knew Jie Ran was teasing her. She lowered her head shyly and mumbled, “It doesn’t matter if it’s a man or a woman. Work is what’s important.”
Jie Ran loved to tease her and said with a meaningful look, “Isn’t that the truth? You two are going to get married. If she doesn’t work hard, where will she get the money to marry you?”
Yuan Yue’s face turned red and her ears scarlet. She stole a glance at Yu Xi, only to find Yu Xi gazing at her, full of unspoken love. Overcome with emotion, Yuan Yue couldn’t help but grasp her hand.
Jie Ran took in the scene and couldn’t resist ruining the mood. “If you two want to show off your love, go home and do it. Stop trying to provoke me.”
And just like that, the clingy couple was finally “kicked out” by Jie Ran.
When they returned that evening, Yuan Xi suddenly paid them a visit. He came in and said to Yu Xi, “I’ve already asked someone to handle the matter of selling the apartment you mentioned.”
Yu Xi said, “Thank you, Dage.”12
Ever since walking in, Yuan Xi hadn’t seen Yuan Yue and asked doubtfully, “Where’s Yuan Yue?”
Yu Xi glanced toward the bathroom. “Showering.”
Yuan Xi walked around, looking things over, and asked casually, “How long have you two been living together?”
Yu Xi thought for a moment. “A little over three months, I think.”
Yuan Xi mentally calculated the time, inwardly shocked. According to Yu Xi, that meant the two of them had already gotten together around the Mid-Autumn Festival, yet he, her big brother, hadn’t noticed a single clue.
Yuan Xi had heard their story yesterday and his heart had been tangled for a long time. He went to the shop today but couldn’t find Yuan Yue anywhere. It was only in the evening that he finally found time to come over and check on her.
Seeing him just standing there, Yu Xi pointed to the sofa. “Dage, please have a seat. Yuan Yue will be out in a minute.”
The moment her voice fell, a sound suddenly came from the bathroom, and a charming voice drilled into their eardrums: “Darling, here I co~me!”
The two people in the living room snapped their heads in that direction.
All they saw was a beautiful, slender, pale, and smooth leg extend from behind the wall. It was followed by Yuan Yue, her head dripping wet, revealing herself to them with seductive eyes like silk threads.13 One strap of her nightgown had been deliberately pulled down, revealing half of her fragrant shoulder.14 The gown was slightly damp, clinging to her body and showcasing her curves without a doubt.
Yuan Yue was just about to walk over gracefully when she suddenly spotted Yuan Xi in the living room. Her flower-like countenance lost all its color15 from the shock. “Ahhh!”
Pu— At the same time, Yuan Xi, who had been drinking water, spat it all out.
Is this the legendary “wet body seduction”?
Witnessing this scene, Yu Xi’s expression changed abruptly. She had absolutely no chance to appreciate the view and stood up, far from calm.
Yuan Yue had already ducked behind the wall. Still feeling unsafe, she darted into the bathroom and slammed the door shut. Leaning against it, she clutched her chest, her frightened soul not yet settled.16
The sound of the closing door yanked the two people in the living room back to reality. Yuan Xi quickly averted his gaze and pretended nothing had happened, continuing to drink his water.
For once, Yu Xi’s face was a little red. She didn’t even dare to look directly at Yuan Xi. She hastily turned into the bedroom, ran out less than half a minute later, and went straight to knock on the bathroom door.
Yuan Yue’s heart pounded wildly at the sound of the knocking. Before she could even come to her senses, she heard the person outside say, “It’s me. Open up.”
Hearing Yu Xi’s voice, Yuan Yue couldn’t help but let out a long sigh of relief. She opened the door cautiously and asked nervously, “When did my brother get here?”
“Just now.” Yu Xi’s expression had already returned to normal. She said to her, deadpan, “Hurry up and change your clothes.”
Yuan Yue glanced at the loungewear17 Yu Xi had shoved into her arms and obediently changed out of the sexy nightgown.
Five minutes later, Yuan Yue hid behind Yu Xi, shuffling hesitantly to the middle of the living room. She looked at Yuan Xi’s unnatural expression and said, “Ge,18 why didn’t you give me a call before you came?”
You made me lose so much face.
It was the first time Yuan Xi had ever caught his sister acting so coquettishly,19 and he was quite embarrassed himself. Seeing Yuan Yue’s unusual behavior today, he finally understood why she had taken her keys back before.
Yuan Xi suddenly realized he was a third wheel. He said sheepishly, “Next time, I’ll definitely call and let you guys know before I come over.”
Yuan Yue sat down. Even though she was in her loungewear, she still felt uncomfortable all over. At a loss, she said, “Um… was there something you needed me for?”
Yuan Xi had originally just wanted to stop by and check on her. Who knew he’d walk in on such a magical scene? He cleared his throat and said, “It’s nothing, really. I’m bothering you. I’ll head back now.”
Yuan Xi had come in a hurry and left in a hurry.
Yu Xi locked the door and came back in to see Yuan Yue repeatedly banging her head against a pillow. She asked teasingly, “What are you doing?”
Yuan Yue said in frustration, “I want to die.”
Yu Xi walked over, pulled the pillow from her hands, and looked at her with great interest. “How come I never realized you could be so sexy?”
The moment she recalled what had just happened, Yuan Yue wished she could find an earth hole to drill into.20 She lunged at Yu Xi and snapped, “I only did it to surprise you!”
“It was quite a surprise, and a little scary too,” Yu Xi said with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.21
No wonder she had been dead set against it when Yu Xi offered to shower with her earlier; she was planning this little act. Although Yuan Yue’s performance had been a flop, Yu Xi was still quite delighted inside.
Yuan Yue felt indignant at being teased and simply tackled Yu Xi.
Yu Xi went with the momentum, wrapping her arms around her and reversing their positions. The two of them rolled onto the thick carpet together. Yu Xi pinned her down, one hand moving down to caress her thigh as she continued to joke, “Come on, let me get a good look at those soul-snatching beautiful legs of yours.”
Yuan Yue was no match for her in strength. In just a few moves, Yu Xi had stripped her bare. The water still clinging to her hair splattered across her chest and back, beads of crystal-clear water scattering irregularly over her smooth skin.
Yu Xi’s eyes darkened. She lowered her head and, bit by bit, began to lick with extreme patience.
It wasn’t long before Yuan Yue disarmed and surrendered.22 Her hands weakly cradled Yu Xi’s head as she panted softly, “You haven’t showered yet.”
Yu Xi was completely unaffected, her voice husky. “It’s fine as long as you’re clean.”
Yuan Yue tried to help her shed the constraints of her clothes, but Yu Xi wouldn’t let her, burying her head to kiss her earnestly. Yuan Yue struggled a few times before losing all her strength, her gaze hazy. Her hand rested weakly on Yu Xi’s back as she said brokenly, “You know, what if my ge comes back again in a little while?”
“He won’t,” Yu Xi said firmly.
It was as if she’d received a guarantee. Her tense nerves gradually began to relax.
But in the next second, a cheerful ringtone suddenly echoed through the room. Yuan Yue was completely caught off guard and jumped in fright. She let out a cry, shot upright, and frantically pushed Yu Xi away.
The phone on the coffee table was ringing insolently. Yuan Yue glanced over, and when she saw the two characters for “Older Brother” displayed on the screen, she couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath of cold air.
It was truly a case of “what you fear is what comes.”23
The ringing continued. Yuan Yue didn’t have time to put on clothes. She quickly answered the call, her voice trembling. “Ge, y-you haven’t left?”
“I’m already downstairs.” Yuan Xi had just gotten into his car. He didn’t detect anything unusual in Yuan Yue’s voice at all and said calmly, “I forgot to mention something important just now. Xu Ming is coming to the city tomorrow. He said he wants to treat our whole family to a meal.”
“Xu Ming?” Yuan Yue was shocked. She shot a look at Yu Xi. “Why does he want to treat our whole family to a meal?”
“I think it’s because he’s going to be teaching in the city from now on. Treating us to a meal is probably his way of celebrating.”
Hearing this explanation, Yuan Yue instantly breathed a sigh of relief.
After hanging up, Yuan Yue’s body had also cooled down. She didn’t dare mess around anymore, pushing Yu Xi away and hastily putting on her clothes.
With their passion suddenly interrupted, Yu Xi’s interest was also lacking. She got up from the floor and turned to head into the bathroom.
The next day, Yuan Yue went with Yuan Xi to the dinner engagement. Yu Xi couldn’t accompany them due to work, and Yuan Yue was gloomy the entire way there.
They arrived at a seafood restaurant. When she saw Xu Kai standing beside Xu Ming, Yuan Yue’s heart skipped a beat, and she subconsciously looked for Sun Wenya. After searching for a long time without seeing her, she couldn’t help but ask suspiciously, “Where’s your wife?”
Xu Kai replied with a smile, “Wenya has been a bit weak lately, so I told her to stay home and rest well.”
His wife being weak is something to be so happy about? Yuan Yue didn’t get it. Her mouth moved faster than her brain as she asked, “Is she sick?”
Xu Kai’s smile grew even wider. “Nope. She’s pregnant.”
