Seeing Zhang Xiaochen’s name on the caller ID, originally Yuan Yue didn’t want to answer, but Yu Xi said, “If you don’t answer, what if she doubles down and pesters you even more aggressively later?”

Yuan Yue thought about it. Based on her understanding of Zhang Xiaochen, that woman really was capable of doing that kind of thing.

Helplessly, Yuan Yue answered the phone, but unexpectedly, it was Xu Ming’s voice on the other end. Although she didn’t understand why Xu Ming said he went to get the car but ended up running into Zhang Xiaochen, when she heard Xu Ming say he couldn’t accompany them to the movies today, Yuan Yue breathed a huge sigh of relief.

After hanging up, Yuan Yue told Yu Xi what Xu Ming had just said to her. Yu Xi pondered briefly and said, “It looks like there’s really something shady going on between those two. That works out perfectly; when the family asks about it later, we’ll be able to handle it.”

Yuan Yue was thinking the exact same thing. She quickly tossed the matter of Xu Ming and Zhang Xiaochen to the back of her head¹, linked arms with Yu Xi, and said with a face full of happiness, “Now, finally, no one can disturb us. Let’s go, let’s watch the movie together!”

They arrived at the cinema complex. Since it was the weekend, there were quite a few people watching movies during the day.

Yuan Yue rarely went out, let alone to a movie theater with the person she liked, so she was a bit excited. She took the initiative to buy two tickets for 《The Mermaid》, choosing seats in the very last row. She dragged Yu Xi along to buy soda and popcorn, and only after making all preparations did they step into the theater.

The back rows were sparsely seated with quite a few couples paired off. Yuan Yue and Yu Xi, two women, wouldn’t be noticed by anyone while hidden in the middle.

The movie began to play. Yuan Yue leaned her head on Yu Xi’s shoulder, eating popcorn and occasionally stuffing a kernel or two into Yu Xi’s mouth.

Probably because she was stuffing them too frequently, Yu Xi pushed her hand away and said out of the blue, “Looking at your posture, it doesn’t look like your first time coming to the cinema with someone at all.”

Yuan Yue hurriedly sat up straight. Under the flickering lights, she looked at Yu Xi’s profile and said awkwardly, “This is the second time.”

Yu Xi turned her head to look her in the eye and said composedly, “Then who was the first time with?”

Regarding the past, Yuan Yue had never thought to hide anything. She said in a muffled voice, “In college, right after I got together with Sun Wenya, I went to the cinema with her once to watch a movie.”

Actually, Yu Xi had already guessed this answer, but she inquired leisurely, “Is that so? What did you watch back then?”

Yuan Yue’s eyes flickered, and she guiltily lowered her voice on purpose. “We watched 《Scent of Love》 starring Jie Ran…”

Yu Xi unconsciously raised an eyebrow and looked at her with interest. “You guys were quite avant-garde back then, two little lovers running to the cinema to watch a lesbian movie.” She didn’t wait for Yuan Yue to answer, leaning close to her ear to add, “When you watched the movie with her the first time, what did you guys do?”

Yuan Yue looked at her as if seeing a ghost², eager to clear her name. “We had just gotten together back then, how would we dare do anything!”

Yu Xi was half-skeptical. “Watching such a touching movie, you two should have been very moved. How is it possible you didn’t do anything?”

Since she had already been seen through, Yuan Yue simply confessed, “We just hugged once, we really didn’t do anything else.”

Yu Xi fell into deep thought and whispered, “She was your first love. After breaking up, you must have taken a long time to forget her, right?”

This time Yuan Yue didn’t answer her immediately. She frowned and said, “Today it’s the two of us watching a movie, why do you keep bringing her up?”

“Curiosity,” Yu Xi said naturally. “Who told you your first time wasn’t with me.”

Yuan Yue was speechless. She didn’t expect that even at this point, Yu Xi was still eating vinegar³ over such a small thing.

However, seeing Yu Xi jealous over her, Yuan Yue actually felt quite happy deep down. She hooked both arms around Yu Xi’s neck and said in a voice cloying enough to kill, “But my first time was given to you!”

Yu Xi made no comment, looking at her with ambiguous eyes. “You mean which aspect?”

Yuan Yue looked left, right, forward, and backward. She found that the people in front were watching the movie seriously, while the couples behind them had long been unable to hold back—dry wood burning with fierce fire⁴. Since it was pitch black in the back anyway, Yuan Yue grew bolder. Using action to replace words, she pulled Yu Xi’s head down a bit lower and proactively offered a kiss.

Yu Xi responded to her gently, prying open her lips and tongue. Amidst the confusion, she didn’t forget to mock her, “Why are you still so clumsy?”

Yuan Yue looked innocent, glaring at her with a flushed face. “What’s wrong with me?”

Yu Xi steadied her breath and said with solemn seriousness, “When you eat jelly, do you only know how to bite and not how to lick?”

Upon hearing the word “jelly,” Yuan Yue felt like her whole body was on fire. She remembered that day in Yu Xi’s bathroom, the two of them lying on the smooth floor. Under Yu Xi’s guidance, she was like a clumsy apprentice, unable to get the hang of it no matter what.

Yuan Yue didn’t dare look into Yu Xi’s eyes and said coquettishly, “Anyway, I don’t know how to do anything, you figure it out yourself!”

Yu Xi was left torn between laughter and tears by her rogue-like attitude. She sighed, “Getting saddled with a lazy ghost like you, it’ll be a wonder if I don’t get squeezed dry in the future.”⁵

Yuan Yue thought she talked too much, so she moved her mouth up and bit Yu Xi’s lower lip, neither too light nor too heavy. After hearing the sound of Yu Xi sucking in a breath, she very satisfiedly began to clumsily entangle with her again.

The movie wasn’t even over yet when Yu Xi couldn’t stand being tortured by Yuan Yue any longer. She dragged her out, rushing to get back home.

The two were like two fish that had been thirsty for a long time, pulling and tugging from the doorway all the way to the living room sofa. Yu Xi panted heavily as she laid her down. After kissing her a few times, she pinned down Yuan Yue’s body and suddenly withdrew. “Wait a moment.”

The condoms bought last time that had never been opened were locked in Yuan Yue’s nightstand. Yu Xi took two out, tore one open, and put it on her finger. Under Yuan Yue’s expectant yet nervous gaze, she entered, saying cautiously, “Tell me if it’s uncomfortable.”

Yuan Yue tipped her head back, half-squinting her eyes as she exhaled.

Afterward, Yuan Yue lay completely limp on the sofa, letting Yu Xi put her clothes on for her. She said softly, “Dear, can you rest a while?”

Yu Xi smiled indifferently. “It’s fine, I’m not tired.”

Yuan Yue didn’t say anymore, letting her do as she pleased.

Yu Xi put on her underwear and bra but wasn’t in a hurry to put on her outer clothes. Her hand brushed over Yuan Yue’s body as she said, “You’re sweating all over, let it dry first.”

Yuan Yue joked, “You think you’re air-drying clothes? Isn’t there an air conditioner? Go turn the AC on.”

“What if you catch a cold if I turn on the AC? Your physical constitution is so poor.” Yu Xi couldn’t resist pinching the flesh on her waist, saying teasingly, “If it weren’t for the fact that your body is too weak, I’d want another round.”

Yuan Yue exclaimed, “Better not, right? Another round would kill me. The calories burned today are already enough.”

Yu Xi stopped teasing her and slapped her thigh with a pa sound. “Shift your position, you’re sitting on my clothes.”

Yuan Yue shifted lazily. Yu Xi successfully pulled out her clothes and was just about to put them on unhurriedly when she suddenly heard a noise from the doorway.

It sounded like someone was opening the door. The two people in the living room were instantly dumbfounded. Yu Xi hurriedly asked her, “Did you lock the door just now?”

“I locked it,” Yuan Yue looked at her innocently. The next second, she suddenly thought of something and shouted, “Crap!”

Yuan Yue scrambled to her feet in a panic and ran toward the door, but it was too late. The door handle turned, and with a crisp ka-da sound, Jiang Yan pushed the door open and entered.

When she saw Yuan Yue appearing before her eyes wearing only her underwear, Jiang Yan was severely startled. But since it was her own daughter, it wasn’t too strange. Jiang Yan glared at her and asked in confusion, “Why aren’t you wearing clothes in broad daylight?”

Facing Jiang Yan’s barrage of questions, Yuan Yue feigned calmness. “We already met. Xu Ming said he had something to do and left first, so we came back too.”

Inside, Yuan Yue was actually incredibly anxious. She blamed herself for being careless; when she went out, she had handed the keys to Jiang Yan. When they came back just now, Yu Xi had opened the door. When passion reached the depths, she hadn’t thought about that detail. Fortunately, the two of them had already finished their business. If they had accidentally been caught in the act by Jiang Yan, they would really be finished.

Yuan Yue stole a glance backward and saw that Yu Xi was already fully dressed and walking toward them. She let out a long sigh of relief and lowered her hands.

“Mom, why didn’t you tell me you were coming back? I could have gone to pick you up,” Yu Xi said without batting an eye, standing beside Yuan Yue.

Seeing that Yu Xi was also in the room, Jiang Yan didn’t suspect a thing. “I thought you were still meeting with Xu Ming, so I didn’t want to disturb you. Did Xu Ming really leave?”

“En. A friend of his had a bit of an accident, and he took the person to the hospital, so we came back early.”

Jiang Yan nodded in understanding.

Yuan Yue couldn’t help interrupting, “Mom, why don’t you believe me!”

Jiang Yan glared at her grumpily. “Every time I mention introducing you to a partner, you push three and block four⁷. How do you expect me to believe you?”

Yuan Yue pouted in grievance.

“Yi? What is this?” Jiang Yan’s gaze fixed on Yuan Yue’s chest. She saw the speckled red marks on her chest, got a fright, and leaned in to inspect them.

Yuan Yue looked down and turned pale, hurriedly covering her chest with both hands again.

“Let me see.” Jiang Yan tried to pry her hands away.

“Mom, I pinched that,” Yu Xi stopped her at the perfect moment.

Jiang Yan looked at Yu Xi in disbelief. “What did you pinch her for?”

Yu Xi said with a straight face, “Yueyue has too much dampness in her body. I was just giving her a massage, incidentally giving her some Gua Sha.”⁸

Jiang Yan’s eyes went wide, amazed. “You know how to do Gua Sha and massage?”

Yu Xi said without her face reddening or heart skipping a beat⁹, “I learned a little before, I don’t know much.”

Yuan Yue knew Yu Xi was spouting pure nonsense. Afraid that Jiang Yan would give the game away if she kept asking, she hugged her chest tightly and interrupted, “You guys chat, I’m going to put on clothes.”

Yuan Yue took off running toward the room. Jiang Yan suddenly noticed something and shouted behind her, “That’s not right, how come the scraping went all the way to the thighs? Heavens! Why are there red blotches all over her body? Is she having an allergic reaction?”

Seeing Yuan Yue frantically standing by the sofa putting on clothes, Yu Xi steadied Jiang Yan first, her mouth full of nonsense. “Mom, don’t worry. Yueyue had severe water retention all over her body, so I had to give her a full-body poison expulsion.”

Although Jiang Yan was confused, she couldn’t withstand Yu Xi’s brainwashing and didn’t probe further. She walked toward Yuan Yue and said to her as she dressed, “I’m going back in a bit, otherwise your dad will get anxious.”

Yuan Yue was sweating profusely from anxiety and said, “Okay, Yu Xi and I will drive you back in a bit.”

“No need for the trouble, just drop me at the station.” After Jiang Yan said this, she turned and went into the bedroom to get the small cloth bag she had brought over earlier.

Seeing Jiang Yan go in, Yuan Yue didn’t dare stop for a second and quickly put her clothes on properly. But before she could even catch her breath, she heard Jiang Yan roar from the bedroom: “Yuan Yue, get in here!”

Yuan Yue’s heart gave a thump. She thought, It’s over, couldn’t hide it in the end. She looked helplessly at Yu Xi, who was walking toward her, and whispered, “What do I do?”

“Yuan Yue!”

Jiang Yan roared again, using her full name.

Yuan Yue’s heart trembled.

Yu Xi arrived in front of her and comforted her with a calm face, “Don’t be afraid, you go in and see first.”

Whatever, soldiers come, generals block; water comes, earth covers¹⁰. Yuan Yue took a deep breath and ran into the bedroom without delay.

Jiang Yan was standing right by the bed. Seeing Yuan Yue enter, her face was dark as she said, “What is this?”

Only then did Yuan Yue notice the object in Jiang Yan’s hand. She leaned in to take a closer look, and when she saw clearly that it was a freshly opened box of condoms, her face went instantly white.
