Not Tonight
Su Ruixi snapped out of it, only to be made exceptionally embarrassed by that sentence. But on second thought, they were both adults and had been in a confirmed relationship for some time now, so wasn’t it a matter of course for them to become intimate?
But… but, she had been a straight girl for twenty-seven or twenty-eight years; she really had no idea how two women were supposed to have sex!
Su Ruixi was a very meticulous person. Right then, she was wondering if she should go gather some information. She was, after all, a little older than Sun Miao, and as the elder, shouldn’t she take a leading role in this area?
The more she thought about it, the shyer Su Ruixi became, even forgetting to continue cleaning.
After those two left, Sun Miao went upstairs to quickly wash up and change into some loungewear. If she lived alone, her frequency of showering wouldn’t be this high. It was only after getting together with Su Ruixi that it increased. This was because even if she didn’t sweat while cooking a meal, her body would still be covered in the smell of cooking fumes. She wanted to present her best self to Su Ruixi and certainly didn’t want her to smell anything unpleasant.
But after coming downstairs, she found that Su Ruixi wasn’t in the living room. Sun Miao found it a bit strange. She looked around for a moment before heading toward the kitchen. As soon as she entered, she saw that Su Ruixi was indeed there. At this moment, Su Ruixi had straightened up and was absent-mindedly wiping a plate, not even realizing she had already removed the grime from it and just needed to put it in the dishwasher for further processing.
Sun Miao also found it a bit odd and opened her mouth to ask, “Susu-jie, you…” Before she could finish, Su Ruixi seemed to be startled by her. She spun around in a panic, lost her grip on the plate in her hand, and with a clang, it fell to the floor, shattering into pieces.
Panicked and startled by Sun Miao’s sudden call, Su Ruixi was at a loss and subconsciously reached out to pick up the shards on the floor.
Just then, Sun Miao sternly stopped her, “Susu-jie, don’t move!”
She walked over quickly, and just as she was about to say more, she saw Su Ruixi standing there looking somewhat aggrieved and helpless, and Sun Miao’s heart softened again. She reached out, took Su Ruixi’s hand, and pulled her away from where she stood.
Sun Miao’s movements were very careful, intentionally guiding her around the broken pieces on the floor as she led her. She brought her out to the living room.
Su Ruixi felt a little embarrassed. After the two sat down on the sofa, she burrowed aggrievedly into Sun Miao’s embrace. “I feel so useless at housework. Just now, I almost really did pick it up with my hands…” To be honest, Su Ruixi’s housekeeping skills were indeed not up to par.
Even the rice she cooked now still had a somewhat strange texture. Not to mention comparing her to Sun Miao’s mastery level from being trained by a system, even the skill level of an ordinary person far surpassed hers.
She truly had the pure air of a rich young lady who knew nothing of the world’s hardships.
Hearing her words, Sun Miao just chuckled. “Not at all. Susu-jie is just not suited for housework; you’re the best when it comes to work. Besides, who says Susu-jie can’t do chores? You’re getting more and more skilled at it now. You were just thinking about something else and got startled by me, that’s why you accidentally broke the plate.”
Sun Miao’s soft and gentle comfort was what finally soothed her slightly frightened heart.
But immediately after, Sun Miao asked a question that made her whole body tense up: “What were you thinking about just now, Susu-jie?”
Su Ruixi’s body stiffened. She was an awkward person by nature, to say nothing of such a private and ambiguous topic, so she said nothing.
It wasn’t that Sun Miao absolutely had to know. She patted Su Ruixi’s back. “Susu-jie, you sit here for a bit and relax. I’ll go clean up the kitchen.”
Su Ruixi sat on the sofa, watching Sun Miao head to the kitchen. The kitchen door was open, but due to the angle, Su Ruixi couldn’t see Sun Miao bustling about inside, though she could hear the sounds of her cleaning up.
She found a broom, and with a series of scrape-scrape sounds, the broken pieces were swept into a dustpan and emptied into the trash can. This was followed by more clattering noises, and after a short while, the trash bag was tied up and replaced with a new one.
Soon after, Sun Miao walked out of the kitchen. She was holding the trash bag, which she placed by the side door. Then, she began rummaging through a drawer in the entryway cabinet over there. Su Ruixi, a little curious, walked over.
“Sun Miao, what are you doing?”
“Looking for a pen and paper,” Sun Miao replied as she searched. “Ah, found them.” Sun Miao took out a pen, paper, and clear tape from the drawer. Then, under Su Ruixi’s curious gaze, she wrote in large letters: “DANGER! CONTAINS GLASS SHARDS!”
Then she found a few thick bags, placed the trash bag containing the ceramic shards inside them, and finally taped the note she had just written onto it, securing it so firmly that it became one with the bag and wouldn’t get smudged or fall off. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.
“Why do you have to do that?”
Su Ruixi really didn’t understand. In fact, the number of times she had taken out the trash herself was pitifully small. Back at her old home, a maid naturally helped. Here, it was the auntie who was responsible for taking out the trash. On the rare occasion the auntie wasn’t there, she would sort the trash herself according to the prompts in a trash-sorting app.
Glass shards were considered hazardous waste; she could just throw them directly into the corresponding bin. To Su Ruixi, what Sun Miao was doing seemed a bit superfluous.
Sun Miao then explained with a smile, “From the trash bag to the trash can, then to the collection station, and finally to the waste processing center, there’s a long journey. It’s possible that scavengers might rummage through the trash bags, and they might just rip the bags open to look… With this note, it can at least offer them some protection.”
“They’d rip it open to look even if it’s wrapped this securely?”
“Mhm, after all, every bag they can check is another chance. What if there’s a mineral water bottle inside?” Seeing that Su Ruixi was truly lacking in common sense in this area, Sun Miao decided to give her a little lesson on a few more things. “There are other types of trash you have to wrap up very securely, too, like mouse glue traps. Because cats also go through trash cans, you know? If it’s not wrapped up well, it’ll get stuck to a cat’s fur and be impossible to get off. Quite a few cats have gone to the cat star1 for this very reason.”
Su Ruixi nodded, indicating that she understood.
Her expression was quite solemn and earnest, as if she had truly taken all of this to heart. However, this piece of common knowledge was probably not something Su Ruixi would have much use for, because she really didn’t take out the trash herself very often.
But her serious expression was so adorable to Sun Miao that she couldn’t resist leaning in and planting a loud kiss on Su Ruixi’s cheek. “I’m going to take this trash out first.”
Nearly every household here had an hourly cleaner or a live-in housekeeper, so the garbage collection station was centralized. Sun Miao had to walk a little way to throw the trash out. Watching her leave through the side door, Su Ruixi subconsciously touched her cheek.
Help me, she once again thought of what Hip-hop Mei had said, and her strange tone of voice.
Su Ruixi sat on the sofa for a while, but she still couldn’t resist searching online for “how do lesbians have sex.”
The results were all rather vague, telling her that “lesbians primarily engage in sexual activity through physical contact, manual stimulation, oral stimulation, or small toys.” But as for the specific steps, not a single one was mentioned.
Su Ruixi put down her phone, feeling troubled. She already knew all of this without searching; what else could they possibly use to have sex? What she wanted to know were the specific details, the specific steps!
After thinking for a while, Su Ruixi grew anxious: Do I have to ask Hip-hop Mei? Borrow some not-so-wholesome films from her to observe and learn? But if I do that, wouldn’t I be completely giving away the fact that I have no sexual experience?!
Su Ruixi swore: Absolutely not!
But Su Ruixi truly had no other channels to obtain such films.
While Su Ruixi was wrestling with her dilemma, Sun Miao returned. She noticed Su Ruixi’s turmoil and absent-mindedness, but since Su Ruixi hadn’t said anything when asked earlier, Sun Miao didn’t plan to get to the bottom of it. However, this situation continued for a long time; Su Ruixi remained in the same state for the entire afternoon.
It was the same during dinner, the same while watching TV, and even the same after they had showered and it was time to lie down in the same bed.
It was nine-thirty, time for them to sleep together. Although Su Ruixi had the next day off, Sun Miao still had to get up and continue her work. Yet Su Ruixi was tossing and turning beside her, making so much noise that Sun Miao couldn’t sleep either.
Sun Miao really couldn’t hold back any longer; she truly had to get to the bottom of this.
She propped her upper body up with her arms on the bed. Sun Miao moved a little closer and asked, “Susu-jie, what’s wrong with you? You’ve seemed so distracted ever since Xu Zi’an and the others left. What happened?”
Su Ruixi turned over. Seeing Sun Miao’s dim silhouette in the darkness, she finally found a bit of courage to speak, though the words that came out were still far from direct.
“Sun Miao, today is Saturday.”
“Yeah, it is.”
“I have tomorrow off.”
“I know.”
Su Ruixi was getting a little angry now. She really felt that Sun Miao was the dense, blockheaded straight girl! Whenever this happened, Su Ruixi would become exceptionally bold. She threw off the covers, straddled Sun Miao’s waist, and before Sun Miao could react, she lowered her head and kissed her on the lips.
The two kissed for a long time before separating. Su Ruixi bit her lip. “We’ve been dating for so many days now, don’t you feel anything at all?”
Hold on. From Su Ruixi’s perspective, they actually hadn’t been dating for that many days, only about half a month. And now, she fully understood Su Ruixi’s meaning. That word “want” referred to those things between a couple.
But from Sun Miao’s perspective, what kind of days had she been living? She was either pulled into the System space for six months or pulled in for a year! For Sun Miao, how could she not want it?
The problem was, she wasn’t ready yet!
Sun Miao swallowed. First, she gave her affirmation: “I do want you. I really, really want you. I want to kiss Susu-jie, and I want to caress Susu-jie, to make Susu-jie feel pleasure too.”
She was very direct; a player who knows how to throw a straight ball2 is just different. She was so direct that Su Ruixi became a little awkward again. She slid off Sun Miao and onto the bed beside her, her voice soft, “Then tonight we…”
“Not tonight.”
Sun Miao’s one sentence made Su Ruixi’s eyes fly open. “What did you say?!”
Sun Miao sat up straight and looked at Su Ruixi, exceptionally serious. “Not tonight. We haven’t prepared anything.”
