Little Alpaca – Chapter 15

Volume 1: Little Alpaca

I’m Begging You, Please Stop Pretending!

When a small, weak alpaca is suddenly kicked hard in the waist by the person next to her without any warning whatsoever, it’s absolutely impossible for it not to hurt.

Yi Qiu lay on her side on the ground like a dead fish, her four legs splayed out, motionlessly feeling the aftershock of that kick. Her little ears trembled slightly, and the grievance in her heart was about to overflow from her tear-filled eyes.

You Yan did indeed enjoy teasing others, but at this moment, her tone was exceptionally cold, without the slightest hint of amusement. So this kick was clearly not a joke.

Yi Qiu couldn’t figure it out. If there was no room for her, then why leave half the bed empty for no reason?

But no matter how much she couldn’t figure it out, she could tell that You Yan was not in a good mood right now. So she didn’t dare to cry, didn’t dare to make a scene, and certainly didn’t dare to open her mouth and question anything.

Fine, don’t let me on the bed. It’s hot on a summer day in the Human Realm anyway, lying on the floor is nice and cool!

Stupid villain! Vile woman! It’s just half a bed, who cares!

Just like that, Yi Qiu swallowed her grievances. Under You Yan’s cold gaze, she rolled over, endured the pain in her waist, and obediently curled up at the foot of the bed—head buried, eyes closed, trying to brew up some sleepiness.

The little alpaca, who would usually make a fuss over the slightest grievance, was suddenly quiet. The entire guest room fell into a long silence.

You Yan stared at the little alpaca curled into a ball below the bed for a long time before finally losing her patience and grabbing the soft pillow beside her, tossing it at her.

Suddenly hit, Yi Qiu trembled all over in fright. Thinking she was about to be beaten, she opened her eyes in terror, only to find that what had rolled beside her was just a soft pillow.

She stared at the pillow, hesitating for a good while before stretching out a foreleg and pawing it in front of her.

Just then, a thin blanket fell from above.

Yi Qiu’s vision was instantly plunged into darkness. She stayed stunned for a long while before finally poking her head out from under the blanket.

The window was shut tight, and the room was dark.

Yi Qiu subconsciously looked up at You Yan, only to see her lying on her side near the wall, without the blanket, using her hand as a pillow, as if she had already closed her eyes.

“This villain, why is she fierce one moment and nice the next…”

“That kick she gave me still hurts. Don’t think I’ll forgive you just because you gave me the blanket and pillow.”

“I hold grudges, I’m very petty!”

Yi Qiu glared with her small eyes, muttering in her heart for a while, but in the end, she still straightened out the thin blanket a bit, then lay down on it, hugging the soft pillow as she closed her eyes and went to sleep.

On her first night in the Human Realm, Yi Qiu had no dreams and slept very soundly.

When she woke, she slightly cracked open her eyes and vaguely saw You Yan walk to the window and gently push it open.

The first ray of morning light slipped in through the gap, softly sprinkling upon that white robe, making the woman, who was ethereally beautiful even without a touch of makeup, appear like a banished immortal1.

Yi Qiu subconsciously squinted, using that ray of light to carefully admire You Yan, who had already sat back down at the table to drink congee.

So beautiful, just like a painting.

However, the “painting” gave her a faint glance and, in a commanding tone, said languidly, “Stop lazing in bed. Now that you’re awake, eat. We have to get on the road after.”

Such a beautiful woman, but she just had to have such a fierce mouth. The moment she opens it, she ruins the atmosphere!

Yi Qiu raised her neck and shook her head. Once she was fully conscious, she stood up and wobbled over to You Yan’s side, resting her head on the edge of the table and smacking her lips at the meat buns on the plate.

You Yan picked up a bun, tore off a piece, and brought it to Yi Qiu’s mouth, saying faintly, “Walk properly.”

Yi Qiu let out a low “hmph” unconsciously. After swallowing the first bite of bun skin, she said in an aggrieved tone, “My waist hurts.” After speaking, she shot You Yan a resentful look and added, “Master kicked me yesterday.”

“Oh?” You Yan lowered her eyes and smiled. “I almost forgot.”

Yi Qiu subconsciously gritted her teeth. Just as she was about to say something, the second bite of the bun was delivered to her mouth, blocking her words.

Seeing her chewing unhappily for a long time, You Yan couldn’t help but ask, “I didn’t use any force last night. Does it really hurt that much?”

“Yes, it really hurts,” Yi Qiu muttered in a small voice.

“Crybaby,” You Yan stuffed another piece of bun into Yi Qiu’s mouth.

Yi Qiu wanted to retort, but this bite was fragrant with meat, finally not as tasteless as the previous two. The moment it entered her mouth, her mood improved slightly.

“Drink your congee.” You Yan scooped up a small spoonful of congee and held it in front of Yi Qiu.

Yi Qiu tilted her head, seemingly stunned for a moment, before quickly taking the spoon into her mouth.

Today’s great villain is being so considerate with the feeding. Could it be that her conscience is suffering from self-reproach after abusing a small animal?

You Yan watched the little furry thing before her eat bite after bite, the corners of her mouth turning up slightly. For a time, she would feed two bites of bun, then offer a mouthful of hot congee, serving her with exceptional attentiveness.

Finally, she wiped Yi Qiu’s mouth, then got up to wash her hands before walking to the door. Turning back, she called out, “Let’s go, pampered ghost2.”

Pampered ghost?!

Yi Qiu gritted her teeth and chased after You Yan furiously. Just as she was about to argue, she found that she could only make frantic “mm, mm” sounds again.

Hearing her squealing so fiercely, You Yan couldn’t help but turn back and give her a faint smile. “This is for disguise. You’ll have to bear with it.”

The little alpaca couldn’t help but take several deep breaths.

Fine, fine, in front of humans, a small animal shouldn’t speak human language.

But You Yan was quite conscientious this time. She actually hired a horse-drawn carriage, liberating her four thin little legs.

The scenery in the mortal realm of ancient times was beautiful. The journey was filled with verdant mountains and clear waters, which was quite refreshing for the heart and spirit.

Although the carriage couldn’t outrun a flying bird, the trip from their starting point to Moshui, with its stops and starts, only took about six or seven days.

According to the novel, a hundred li3 south of Moshui City, there was a nameless mountain. On the nameless mountain were “immortals” who founded the Xianlu Sect.

The Xianlu Sect had been passed down for several generations. Talents emerged from its ranks, and there was no shortage of highly respected senior cultivators. At some point, it had become the foremost of the four major cultivation sects in the Human Realm.

But a cultivation sect like this wasn’t a place ordinary people could enter and exit as they pleased.

As soon as she arrived in Moshui, You Yan found a teahouse with good business and started asking about the Xianlu Sect.

The customer she asked, seeing that the woman before him was beautiful, was naturally willing to say a bit more. When he started chatting, he was incredibly enthusiastic.

“The Xianlu Sect? That’s where immortals live, ordinary people can’t find it.”

“Isn’t it said to be on the nameless mountain a hundred li south of the city?”

“A hundred li south of the city, that whole mountain range is called ‘Nameless.’ Woodcutters, hunters, herb gatherers, they all go there, but how many have ever seen the immortal sect on the mountain? Not a single one!” The man said, waving his hand with a laugh. “In our Moshui, young immortals often come down the mountain to trade for grain or exterminate demons, but no one has ever seen what the Xianlu Sect actually looks like. Immortals, you see, they must have immortal arts to hide it.”

“When do the young immortals usually come down the mountain?”

“That’s hard to say. If there are demons causing trouble, the immortals will come. If it’s always peaceful, then you can only wait for the immortals to be short on something and come down to barter.”

You Yan nodded thoughtfully and thanked the man before her.

Seeing the topic had ended, the man quickly asked, “Is the young lady looking for the Xianlu Sect? Could it be that you are a cultivator?”

You Yan smiled. “This humble girl4 knows a few minor arts. I have come, drawn by its reputation, hoping to glimpse the mysteries of the immortal sect.”

“No wonder!” The man instantly started flattering her. “So you are one of the immortal path5! I saw the young lady’s graceful, immortal-like bearing6 and knew you were no ordinary person.”

I really can’t stand seeing this demoness act so humble and polite to people.

She’s clearly a snake-and-scorpion woman7, yet she insists on pretending to be a white lotus8.

This humble girl, she even calls herself ‘this humble girl.’ A ‘humble girl’ who could poke ten bulls to death with one finger?

I’m begging you, please stop pretending!

“Hmph!” Yi Qiu called out twice in dissatisfaction.

Dear Demon Lord, you’re pretty much done asking. Let’s go, you’re suffocating this alpaca!

You Yan smiled without a word, lowered her eyes to sip her tea, and was about to get up and leave, but unexpectedly, the man brought up another topic, and the conversation continued.

Yi Qiu lay to the side, having waited for a long time and yawned more times than she could count. By now, her eyes were filled with disdain.

The “muted” little alpaca was already feeling stifled. Now, seeing that You Yan was done asking questions but the man was still there making small talk, a fire of irritation instantly flared in her heart.

She went forward and bit You Yan’s sleeve, her eyes full of impatience, but she was completely ignored.

You damn villain, you’d rather chat with some random passerby than pay attention to me. Just you watch, I’ll charge one up to its max for you. Go on, keep pretending!

The little alpaca took a deep breath, her little mouth moving as if chewing, her neck even tilting back slightly.

Just as she was preparing to spit in You Yan’s face, You Yan shot a light glance at her.

It was a threatening look!

The little alpaca subconsciously shrank her neck, but the spit in her mouth was like an arrow on the bowstring, it had to be fired9—after all, she couldn’t just swallow it back down.

After a brief hesitation, she turned her head to the side.

“Young lady, is your sheep feeling unwell somewhere?” The man’s concerned words had just fallen when he saw countless “crystalline” droplets spray from the “sheep’s” mouth, flying straight towards his head and face.

The next second, a foul curse echoed throughout the teahouse.

At the same time, along with a light chuckle from beside her ear, a system prompt also sounded.
