Using Her Body as a Lure
After wiping herself down, Su Wenwen changed into a fresh set of clothes and instantly felt much more relaxed. She then carried the basin of dirty water outside the tent to dump it, turning her head just in time to see Luo Xi and Chen Zixuan talking about something.
“I left some water and a towel in the tent. Do you two want to wash up a bit?” Su Wenwen walked over, her gaze unable to stop itself from studying Luo Xi, whose cheeks were faintly flushed, making her as eye-catching as a delicate flower.
Luo Xi nodded and ducked into the tent. A faint fragrance permeated the air inside. There were also two sets of clean, new clothes neatly placed in a corner, and items like shampoo and soap were set on a waterproof mat. The preparations were quite thorough.
“I’ll stand guard outside. Take your time washing, there’s no rush,” Su Wenwen said, standing outside the tent.
Luo Xi smiled, a dark glint flashing in the depths of her eyes, before she slowly and deliberately began to take off her clothes…
The wait was boring. Su Wenwen stood guard outside, watching the workers on the high wall. For fear that any noise would attract zombies, tasks like moving bricks were all done by hoisting them up gently with ropes. The iron was cut into pieces with interlocking grooves and stacked up bit by bit like building blocks. A maze-like iron mesh partitioned a large area of the port, which was dotted everywhere with simple tents. Guards occasionally walked by on patrol, and everything seemed to be proceeding in an orderly fashion.
Su Wenwen watched for a moment before retracting her gaze. She touched her ear. There wasn’t a single sound from the tent behind her. She called out strangely, “Luo Xi?”
The reply she received sounded a bit troubled, yet tinged with an inscrutable endurance: “En, I’ve run into a bit of a problem… I… I can’t lift my right arm.”
Su Wenwen had almost forgotten that Luo Xi’s right shoulder hadn’t healed yet. It would be difficult to complete a simple task like washing herself with only her left hand, and the wound couldn’t get wet.
“I’ll help you.” The words left her mouth without a second thought. Su Wenwen turned and unzipped the tent. The first thing that met her eyes was Luo Xi’s half-naked shoulders and back, her fair skin, and the graceful, fish-like curve of her waist.
Her blouse had been taken off and placed neatly to one side, with only her undergarment concealing the exquisite sight. With just one glance, Su Wenwen felt as if her heart had been set on fire, her cheeks growing searingly hot and red. But she could only force herself to enter the tent, hesitating, unsure of what to do next.
Whenever her gaze touched any part of Luo Xi’s body, it would immediately dart away. She didn’t dare to look for more than a second, like a rabbit with its ears drooping, so timid she wanted to hide.
“What’s wrong?” Luo Xi’s lips curved slightly, seemingly oblivious to Su Wenwen’s abnormality. As calm as ever, she said, “Weren’t you going to help me wash up?”
Hearing this, Su Wenwen’s face burned red. She took a deep breath to muster the courage to come up behind Luo Xi, but the moment her fingertips touched the clasp of her underwear, she couldn’t help but feel nervous again.
Luo Xi was very thin, but she possessed a bony sort of beauty. Her wing-like shoulder blades appeared vivid and beautiful. When her line of sight moved to the scabbed wound on her right shoulder, Su Wenwen finally came back to her senses, annoyed at herself for letting her mind wander to such things.
After composing herself, Su Wenwen began to wash Luo Xi’s body with her eyes fixed straight ahead, though her gaze would occasionally flit elsewhere, her cheeks so red they felt like they were about to explode. The unintentional touch of her fingertips against smooth skin would make her limbs go weak and limp, and she would have to take another breath and give herself a long mental pep talk before daring to continue.
This long process was both agonizing and enjoyable; Su Wenwen felt like her personality was about to split, one moment being all prim and proper, the next wanting to let her hands roam.
A battle raged in her mind for a long time, until her palm seemed to touch something. Only then did Su Wenwen snap out of it. Her breathing fell into disarray, and she froze, dumbfounded.
“Help me wash my hair later!”
Luo Xi’s eyes were smiling as she watched Su Wenwen’s face grow redder and redder, seemingly unconcerned. Even her eyes were veiled in an alluring, misty vapor. Helpless, she had to say something to deliberately shift their attention.
Su Wenwen nodded like a chick pecking at rice.
She was thin-skinned, so facing a stark-naked Luo Xi made her blush from head to toe. Fortunately, Luo Xi was considerate and would always find the right moment to resolve Su Wenwen’s awkwardness. Who wouldn’t like a beautiful and sensible woman?
If it weren’t for Luo Xi’s injury, Su Wenwen definitely wouldn’t be so impassive right now.
After helping Luo Xi wash up and change into clean clothes, she took her outside the tent to wash her hair. Su Wenwen gently massaged Luo Xi’s black hair; it felt like silk in her hands, exceptionally soft and dark. Luo Xi was also very docile, lowering her head when asked, being incredibly well-behaved.
Speaking of which, Su Wenwen was two years older than Luo Xi, yet she was the one being taken care of in every respect. At this thought, the pressure from her hands grew even lighter, and the tone of her voice became impossibly gentle. “If it hurts, just tell me.”
“Mm, it doesn’t hurt. It feels very nice.”
Su Wenwen knew that Luo Xi was usually very fond of being clean, so she was extremely meticulous while washing, making sure to clean every area, including her auricles. However, keeping one’s head lowered for so long would make the neck very uncomfortable, so she used her palm to support Luo Xi’s forehead to help her relax a bit.
Luo Xi was also taken aback by Su Wenwen’s considerate gesture, but then she entrusted the weight of her body to the other woman, giving her complete trust.
At some point, Chen Zixuan had collected three meal portions. She placed two of them at their feet. Seeing the two of them being so intimate, she couldn’t help but tease them a little.
“You look like an old married couple.”
“Is there something going on between you two?”
Su Wenwen just smiled, which was taken as a silent confirmation of Chen Zixuan’s guess.
On the other side of their tent, Helian Yun was staring fixedly in their direction, her eyes blazing with the fire of jealousy. Once upon a time, all of Su Wenwen’s gentleness had been reserved for Helian Yun, but she hadn’t been satisfied. She had greedily set her sights on higher places, yet was reluctant to abandon the peace that allowed her to relax, which was why she had hidden it from Su Wenwen for so long.
Now, Helian Yun was left with only jealousy and regret for company. She couldn’t even sleep soundly at night. Watching the sweet smiles on Su Wenwen and Luo Xi’s faces, she closed her eyes in pain and hid inside her tent. There was no alcohol now; even numbing herself was a luxury. She could only clearly feel the suffocation brought on by her own heart.
When night fell, Chen Zixuan slept alone in the small tent, while Su Wenwen and Luo Xi slept in the slightly larger one. Afraid of bumping Luo Xi’s wound, she slept on the left side. With guards patrolling at night, it was a rare chance for the two of them to sleep together.
The day had been too tiring. Luo Xi fell asleep not long after lying down. Su Wenwen couldn’t sleep, so she lay on her side, staring at Luo Xi’s face. Luo Xi slept as properly as an old cadre1; whatever position she fell asleep in was the position she’d be in when she woke up.
Listening to Luo Xi’s steady breathing and looking at her elegant and soul-stirring side profile, Su Wenwen felt a great sense of satisfaction in her heart. After a moment’s hesitation, she took Luo Xi’s hand and snuggled a little closer. She truly wished this moment of quiet bliss could last forever.
Before long, Su Wenwen fell asleep with a smile on her lips. She even had a wonderful dream. In the dream, Luo Xi’s shoulder injury had healed. She was lying on the bed like a siren, a captivating beauty mark at the corner of her eye dazzling Su Wenwen until her head spun, making her a willing subject under the skirt2.
When she woke up, Su Wenwen only felt that her mouth was dry and her whole body was sticky. The sky outside hadn’t brightened yet. She tiptoed to get a bottle of water from her spatial backpack, twisted it open, and began to drink with a glug, glug.
It was very hot inside the tent, and she wanted to go outside for some fresh air. Just as she moved, Luo Xi’s voice sounded by her ear. “Can’t sleep?”
“It’s too hot. Did I wake you?”
“You did. You woke me up.”
Hearing this, Su Wenwen was immediately filled with guilt. She knew that Luo Xi had always been a light sleeper; unless she was utterly exhausted, it was very difficult for her to fall back asleep after waking up. “I’m sorry!”
“If you feel apologetic, then come sit outside with me for a while.”
Luo Xi was the first to exit the tent, with Su Wenwen following behind. The two of them sat not far from the tent. Looking up, they could see the brilliant stars in the sky, adding bright color to the terrifyingly dark night.
The wind carried the faint, fishy smell of the sea.
Just as Su Wenwen was lost in thought, Luo Xi reached out and tidied her hair, which was a bird’s nest from sleep. Su Wenwen belatedly realized her own disheveled appearance right after waking up. Then she saw Luo Xi’s smooth hair hanging quietly over her shoulders. The contrast made her feel like a beggar on the street who had just met a kind, wealthy young lady.
Luo Xi’s beauty radiated at all times, her noble temperament innate and requiring no deliberate pretense. Every time Su Wenwen was by Luo Xi’s side, she would have the feeling of what virtue or ability do I have to have won the other’s affection.
It was like a dream, a dream she hoped would last forever.
“Why are you still so dazed?” Seeing Su Wenwen’s infatuated gaze, Luo Xi smiled faintly. The hand that had been tidying her hair suddenly changed course and pinched her soft cheek.
Su Wenwen turned her head with a blush, avoiding Luo Xi’s mischievous hand, then straightened her own hair and said, “If I’m dazed, then you must be blind.” Only a blind person would fall for someone as dazed as her.
“I’m not blind. I see all of your good qualities,” Luo Xi said, holding Su Wenwen’s hand and lowering her gaze. “On the contrary, I’m… I’m not as good as you imagine.”
Su Wenwen couldn’t help but laugh. “No, you’re very good in my heart, too. But isn’t it a bit strange for us to keep flattering each other like this?”
“You have a point. Let’s do something else, then.”
Just as Su Wenwen was wondering what Luo Xi was about to do, the captivating face before her suddenly magnified. A soft warmth pressed against her lips, searing their hearts together. Beneath the charming moonlight, the scene was one of tender intimacy, enough to make a heart pound.
Luo Xi’s gaze was focused and gentle. She then hooked a hand around the nape of Su Wenwen’s neck and deepened the kiss, plundering all her breath and swallowing it into her own lungs. The passion that had been suppressed during the day now erupted, becoming uncontrollable.
She knew Su Wenwen all too well. Aside from that one bizarre kiss she had offered, getting this person who was as timid as a rabbit to take the initiative was harder than ascending to heaven. The thought that she had used her own body as a lure in the tent during the day, only for Su Wenwen to make no move, made her angry.
Luo Xi unconsciously increased the force of her kiss, biting Su Wenwen’s lip as punishment. Su Wenwen went along with it, not meaning to push her away even though it hurt.
And that pair of eyes, filled with a soul-stirring rosy hue instead of that unnervingly clear light, gradually put Luo Xi’s heart at ease.
