Go See a Movie
Her figure finally appeared
Lin Shu slept until noon before getting up.
She dazedly remembered that she had gotten drunk, and Shen Man had sent her back.
She seemed to have pinned Shen Man against the closet there…
Lin Shu rubbed her somewhat aching head, and her gaze fell on the closet.
She frowned and thought for a moment, her face slightly red. She curled her lip, got up, and went to wash up.
Shen Man was sitting in the living room reading a book when she heard Lin Shu’s door open.
She looked up, and her gaze met Lin Shu’s.
Lin Shu turned her head away and walked out with an arrogant expression.
“Shushu, there’s something I want to tell you,” Shen Man said, putting down her book, her expression serious.
Lin Shu’s heart tightened, and her fingers squeezed the bag at her side. “What is it?”
“There’s a gift. Someone entrusted me to give it to you, I don’t know if you want it,” Shen Man said, standing up and walking towards the utility cabinet.
Lin Shu’s delicate brows furrowed as she asked, “Who is it?”
“A woman,” Shen Man replied, standing in front of the utility cabinet.
Lin Shu snorted coldly, her eyes full of disgust. “I don’t want it! Just throw it away.”
“Okay,” Shen Man agreed with a light laugh. Looking at Lin Shu’s meticulously applied makeup, she said, “Shushu, Auntie He is about to finish making lunch. You should eat a little before you go out.”
“I’m going to see a movie, I don’t have time,” Lin Shu said, turning and striding away to change her shoes.
Shen Man stood where she was, thought for a moment, then followed her to the entryway and watched Lin Shu quietly.
“What are you doing?” Lin Shu asked irritably after changing her shoes, glaring at her.
“Shushu, I haven’t seen a movie in a long time. Why don’t we go together today?” Shen Man said with a smile.
“I’ve already made plans with people. If you want to see it, go by yourself,” Lin Shu refused decisively and left after speaking.
With a bang sound, she forcefully shut the door.
Shen Man stood inside the house and returned to the living room with a calm expression.
Auntie He came out carrying the dishes, looked around, and said in confusion, “Has Miss Lin gone out?”
Shen Man nodded. “She went to see a movie.”
“Shushu doesn’t want that gift. You can dispose of it as you see fit,” she added.
A regretful expression appeared on Auntie He’s face. She paused, then couldn’t help but say, “Miss Lin’s mother passed away early. Having another woman in the house is actually quite good, at least someone can take care of her.”
“Regarding Shushu’s family matters, it’s enough for us outsiders to just know. We shouldn’t say too much,” Shen Man said in a flat tone.
Auntie He flinched and nodded with a sheepish smile.
After eating lunch, Shen Man returned to her room to read.
Her phone rang. It was a call from Yin Ruxu.
Shen Man put down her book, answered, and asked with a light laugh, “Yin Ruxu, is something the matter?”
“I bought two movie tickets. Do you have time to come see a movie?” Yin Ruxu asked in a soft voice. She paused for a moment and then added, “It’s a newly released movie with a very high rating, worth seeing.”
Shen Man tapped her finger on the book twice and said, “Okay.”
Yin Ruxu immediately and happily gave her the address.
Shen Man noted down the address and tapped open her Moments.
The first post was a status update from Lin Shu: “Made plans with two little sisters to see a movie together today. Hope it doesn’t disappoint.”
Below it was an accompanying picture: Lin Shu hugging a bucket of popcorn, sitting in the cinema’s rest area, her smile brilliant.
Her location tag was the exact place Yin Ruxu had mentioned.
Shen Man smiled, changed her clothes, and went out.
The cinema on a Sunday was always lively.
As Shen Man entered, she saw people everywhere, the majority of whom were couples.
She searched for a while before she saw Yin Ruxu.
“Shen Man, I bought two buckets of popcorn. Do you like it?” Yin Ruxu said, walking over with a smile and handing one of the buckets to Shen Man.
“No, thank you,” Shen Man refused with a light laugh.
Yin Ruxu pursed her lips and awkwardly retracted her hand.
Holding two buckets of popcorn in one arm, she took a ticket out of her bag with her other hand. “Here.”
Shen Man took the ticket and carefully looked at the showtime and seat number on it.
It was the same movie as Lin Shu’s, but the seats were not adjacent.
They were already checking tickets for entry.
Shen Man glanced through the crowd but didn’t see Lin Shu.
“It’s our turn. Are you looking for someone?” Yin Ruxu asked in a low voice.
Shen Man shook her head and handed her ticket to the ticket checker.
Their seats were in the back.
Shen Man leaned back in her chair, one hand resting on the armrest, and quietly watched the entrance.
One minute before the movie started, Lin Shu’s figure appeared.
