After a burst of commotion, the lively basketball court became quiet.

Everyone’s gaze turned to look at Shen Man and Lin Shu.

Shen Man raised her eyes, meeting Lin Shu’s pair of shocked apricot eyes, hooked her lips, revealed a light smile and asked, “Are you injured?”

Lin Shu’s heart and mind trembled, a faint blush dyed her fair and tender little face, she lowered her head as if in a panic, and did not respond.

The crowd on the court reacted.

Tan Kai hurriedly ran over, asking with a nervous expression, “Shen Man, are you okay?”

Shao Qi followed behind, not speaking, his indifferent eyes gazing at Shen Man, a trace of worry in the depths of his eyes.

“I’m fine.” Shen Man smiled lightly, let go of Lin Shu, and sat up straight.

This movement pulled at the injury on her shoulder, and she couldn’t help but frown.

Guilt appeared on Tan Kai’s face, and he said, “I’ll take you to the infirmary.”

Shen Man gently shook her head.

As she spoke, she reached out a hand to help Shen Man.

Shen Man turned her head, glanced over, and said with a smile, “Thank you.”

Yin Ruxu quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Under everyone’s gaze, Yin Ruxu supported Shen Man and slowly left the court.

Tan Kai watched, immediately nudged Lin Shu, and said anxiously, “Lin Shu, what are you still spacing out for? Shen Man was injured because of you, you should hurry and take care of her.”

Shao Qi let out a cold ‘en’ sound, and turned to walk towards the infirmary.

Tan Kai was about to follow when he suddenly realized he hadn’t put on his basketball jersey yet.

Ding Xi hurriedly handed his jersey over, and said in a low voice with a red face, “Are you going too?”

Tan Kai nodded, quickly put on his clothes, and grabbed his own schoolbag to catch up.

Ding Xi stood on the spot, wanting to follow, she hesitated and looked at Yan Jie, asking in a low voice, “Should we go over too?”

“Go over for what?” Yan Jie retorted unhappily, stood up, and left directly.

Ding Xi blinked her eyes, still not having the courage to follow alone, and chased after Yan Jie’s footsteps to leave together.

Hearing this, Tan Kai glanced at Shao Qi and walked outside to wait.

Shen Man nodded with a smile.

Lin Shu stood on the spot without moving.

The doctor glanced at the two of them and said to Lin Shu with a kind smile, “Student, could I trouble you to come over and help her pull down the clothes on her shoulder.”

Lin Shu’s eyes flashed, she paused for a few seconds, and walked over with an awkward expression on her face.

Shen Man had a smile on her face as she turned her head to look at Lin Shu, “Troubling you, Shushu.”

Lin Shu didn’t speak, she reached out and pinched a corner of Shen Man’s collar, slowly pulling it down.

A bruise came into view, its edges still red, occupying almost the entire hollow of her shoulder.

It was a sight that strikes the eye, startles the heart⁴.

Lin Shu’s gaze froze.

If Shen Man hadn’t pushed her away, and that ball had hit her, she probably would have been in so much pain she would have cried on the spot.

But Shen Man had maintained a smile the whole time, as if she were really fine.

Lin Shu pressed her lips together, lowered her eyes, and didn’t look at the bruise.

Shen Man took a look herself and said with a smile, “It’s okay, not too serious.”

Lin Shu heard this, looked over in surprise, just in time to meet a pair of smiling eyes, and she hurriedly avoided them.

Her finger accidentally pressed on a certain spot, and Shen Man was in so much pain, she let out a ‘si’⁵ sound.

Lin Shu frantically let go, bit her lip, and her delicate, soft red lips emitted an almost inaudible sound, “Are you okay…”

Shen Man didn’t hear it very clearly, and only after a moment did she react to the meaning of the words, saying with a smile, “I’m fine.”

Lin Shu’s eyes flickered, and she looked elsewhere.

Looking at the girl’s unusually quiet and well-behaved appearance, Shen Man hooked her lips into a smile.

The doctor carefully examined the injury, asked some basic questions, and said, “First, go get an X-ray. As long as the bone isn’t injured, it’s fine.”

“Okay.” Shen Man pulled her clothes up herself.

The doctor wrote out a slip, and Lin Shu accompanied Shen Man to get the examination.

The infirmary was well-equipped, they didn’t need to wait, and they quickly finished the examination and got the results.

The two of them came back to the doctor.

The doctor carefully read the examination results and said with a smile, “The bone isn’t injured. I’ll prescribe some medicine. Go back and apply it on time, and try not to use excessive force on the injured area.”

Lin Shu’s heartbeat suddenly quickened, she snorted, and her fair and tender little face turned slightly red.

The smile in the depths of Shen Man’s eyes deepened.
