I Am More Paranoid Than the Villain – Chapter 100

Hidden Anger

She was exceptionally beautiful and seductive today

Shen Man got off work and walked out of the office.

Tian Meiying was standing outside. She said with a sweet smile, “President Shen, thank you for driving me home last time. Let me drive you home today instead.”

“Thank you for your kind offer, but Secretary Wen will be taking me home,” Shen Man said, her tone distant yet polite.

Hearing this, Tian Meiying lowered her eyes, a hurt expression appearing on her youthful face. She looked at Shen Man, wanting to speak, yet holding back.

Shen Man didn’t fall for that act and walked out with a cold expression.

Wen Lan hurried to follow.

Shen Man got into the car.

She relaxed against the back seat, took out her phone, and sent a message to Lin Shu, “Shushu, are you off work yet?”

There was no reply from Lin Shu’s end.

Shen Man clutched her phone, glancing at it from time to time.

Ten minutes passed, and Lin Shu still hadn’t replied.

Through the rearview mirror, Wen Lan saw a trace of restlessness hidden between Shen Man’s brows.

She tactfully refrained from asking any questions and focused on driving.

Normally, Shen Man didn’t use her phone much. During her breaks, she would mostly take a nap or read a book.

These past few days, however, she had been constantly on her phone chatting with someone, and from the looks of it, the conversations were very happy.

Such behavior was clearly a sign of someone in love.

Wen Lan guessed this in her heart but didn’t dare say it to Shen Man’s face.

She parked the car downstairs and reminded her in a low voice, “President Shen, we’re here.”

“Mm,” Shen Man responded.

She lowered her head to check her phone one last time. Still no message from Lin Shu.

She put her phone away and got out of the car with a serious expression.

Back in the apartment, Shen Man started preparing dinner.

She placed her phone to the side but never heard the notification sound for a message.

Just as she finished making dinner, the sound of a car came from outside.

Shen Man recognized it as her own car and stood on the balcony to look down.

From her angle, she could see Lin Shu getting out of the car, holding her phone and talking to someone.

She was too far away to see the expression on Lin Shu’s face clearly.

Watching Lin Shu walk into the building’s corridor, Shen Man turned, went into the kitchen, and brought the dishes to the table.

Hearing the sound of the main door opening, she immediately walked over.

Lin Shu was standing in the entryway.

With one hand braced on the cabinet, she changed her shoes while saying to the person on the other end of the call, “I’m home now, about to have dinner. Let’s talk later.”

She hung up after she finished speaking.

Noticing the gaze beside her, the smile on her face instantly turned cold. She looked at Shen Man with displeasure. “Why are you staring at me?”

“Shushu, you’re back just in time. Dinner is ready,” Shen Man said, her eyes curving into a gentle smile.

Lin Shu pouted and walked towards the living room. “What did you make?”

“Braised beef brisket, stir-fried broccoli, and salt and pepper pork ribs,” Shen Man said with a smile, pulling out a chair for Lin Shu. “I also made some mung bean soup in the kitchen. It should be cool by now.”

“It’s alright.” Lin Shu raised an eyebrow, surprisingly not finding fault.

Seeing this, Shen Man calmly served Lin Shu a bowl of rice.

She didn’t mention the message or the phone call from earlier at all.

The two of them ate dinner in silence.

Lin Shu had a good appetite and ate a lot of the food.

After eating, she picked up her phone and started chatting with someone.

Shen Man glanced over but didn’t see any useful information.

Retracting her gaze, she said softly, “Shushu, let me get you a bowl of mung bean soup.”

Lin Shu nodded, saying without looking up, “Add more sugar.”

“Okay.” Shen Man chuckled lightly and got up to go to the kitchen.

After quickly ladling two bowls of mung bean soup, Shen Man came out.

Seeing how overjoyed Lin Shu looked while staring at her phone, a trace of anger couldn’t help but rise within her.

She controlled her emotions and said with her usual smiling expression, “Shushu, have some mung bean soup first.”

Lin Shu grunted “mm” and smiled at her phone again.

Her long, slender, fair fingers tapped rapidly, replying to the other person’s messages in seconds.

Shen Man thought about how her own message had gone unanswered, and a sour feeling instantly grew in her heart.

“Is work at the company that busy?” she asked, softening her tone to knock on the side and strike from the flank1.

“It’s alright,” Lin Shu replied, taking a moment to answer after a sip of mung bean soup.

Her gaze remained fixed on her phone; she didn’t spare Shen Man a single glance.

Shen Man held her spoon and tapped it lightly against the side of the bowl, making a “clank, clank” sound.

Lin Shu heard the noise, frowned, and said with displeasure, “Can’t you just drink your mung bean soup quietly? Why are you tapping the bowl?”

“I was thinking about something and wasn’t paying attention,” Shen Man said with an apologetic smile in her eyes.

Lin Shu shot her a sideways glance and continued chatting on her phone.

Shen Man watched her quietly, observing every subtle little expression on Lin Shu’s face.

She wanted to analyze who Lin Shu was chatting with, but the undisguised, happy smile on Lin Shu’s face stimulated her eyes, making her unable to calmly gather any useful information.

“Shushu, I’m going to take a shower first,” Shen Man said, standing up.

The tip of her foot inadvertently dragged the chair, making a piercing sound.

Lin Shu immediately looked in Shen Man’s direction and glared angrily. “Can you be a little more careful? Don’t make such irritating noises.”

“Okay, I’ll be careful,” Shen Man said, the corners of her lips curling into her habitual smile.

Lin Shu pouted and lowered her head to continue chatting.

Shen Man went back to her room to get her clothes. When she came out, she saw Lin Shu still immersed in the joy of her chat, and her eyes grew deep.

After her shower, she changed into a V-neck slip nightgown.

The light, thin material clung to her body, outlining her perfect and seductive curves.

Shen Man walked over and stood in front of the table.

She placed both hands on the table, leaned forward, and said, “Shushu, are you done drinking? I’m going to clear the table.”

Hearing this, Lin Shu looked up, and her eyes immediately crashed into an expanse of full, perky, snow-white skin.

She could even vaguely see two pink protrusions, like red plums blooming in white snow, seizing one’s soul2.

The smile on her lips froze.

Lin Shu felt her mind go blank for a moment. Her dilated pupils could only see that soft, snow-white expanse.

At such a close distance, her nose was filled with that faint, fresh fragrance.

“Shushu, lift your hand,” Shen Man said with a light laugh, her voice extremely gentle.

Only then did Lin Shu snap back to her senses and obediently lift her hand.

She lowered her head, a beautiful blush spreading across her fair cheeks.

A lock of jet-black hair brushed against her cheek, bringing with it a tingling itch.

As if startled, Lin Shu abruptly stood up and said loudly, “Hurry up and clear the table!”

“Okay.” Shen Man tilted her head slightly, her cool and beautiful face full of gentleness.

Lin Shu’s heart tightened. She quickly grabbed her phone and ran back to her room.

Shen Man watched the door close, and the smile on her face instantly turned cold.

She casually hooked a fallen shoulder strap back into place and wiped the table with a sullen face.

After cleaning everything up, Shen Man went to Lin Shu’s door, knocked, and said, “Shushu, you can go take a shower now.”

“I know,” Lin Shu replied loudly.

Shen Man stood and waited for a while but heard no movement from inside the room.

She raised her hand and knocked with more force. “Shushu, go take a shower first.”

“Stop rushing me!” Lin Shu’s impatient voice came from inside the room.

Unmoved, Shen Man continued to knock. “Shushu, it’s getting late.”

“After you shower, I still have to mop the floor.”

Hearing this, Lin Shu put down her phone and opened the door.

She glared at Shen Man’s face, looking displeased. “What’s there to rush about? I’ll go shower when I want to.”

After speaking, she tried to close the door but was stopped by a slender finger.

Shen Man held the door with one hand, her body leaning slightly forward to bring her eyes level with Lin Shu’s.

If Lin Shu’s gaze shifted down even slightly, she would see a sight that would make her blush and her heart race.

She couldn’t help but flutter her long eyelashes, trying hard to control her gaze.

“Shushu, be good,” Shen Man coaxed softly, a low chuckle rumbling in her throat.

Although her tone was coaxing, those sharp eyes left no room for refusal.

Lin Shu blinked and turned her head to the side.

She brushed the hair from her forehead and said, “I get it. Let go, I need to go back to my room to get my clothes.”

“Alright,” Shen Man chuckled lightly.

Her eyes were fixed on Lin Shu as her fingers slowly loosened their grip.

Lin Shu suddenly felt like prey that had been targeted.

Her heart skipped a beat. She let go of the door and ran quickly to the closet, rummaging for her pajamas.

Shen Man waited outside the door.

The soft light fell on her, making her skin look like snow.

Her tall figure seemed to be veiled in a faint, thin gauze, looking somewhat unreal.

Lin Shu came out with her clothes, took one look, and quickly averted her gaze.

She kept her head down and walked quickly to the bathroom.

She had always known that Shen Man was beautiful, like a masterpiece meticulously carved by the Creator.

In three years, that fair body had shed its immaturity and ripened.

Just a simple glance was enough to make one’s heart race.

It wasn’t that she had never seen it, nor that she had never tasted it.

But tonight’s Shen Man seemed exceptionally different; every raise of a hand and move of a foot exuded a cool yet seductive aura.

Like a fine dessert placed before one’s eyes, tempting one to indulge and fall.

Lin Shu stood under the shower, her eyes closed and her head tilted back.

She let the stream of water hit her face, washing away the wild and random thoughts in her mind.

The water temperature wasn’t high, but she seemed to get hotter the more she washed, and even the depths of her body began to stir restlessly.

Lin Shu took a deep breath, suppressing the impulse welling up inside her.

She quickly finished her shower and came out in her pajamas.

Shen Man was standing outside. Seeing Lin Shu emerge, she gave a gentle smile. “Shushu, are you done?”

Lin Shu nodded, her small face cold.

There were water droplets on her fair skin, like a flower bud that had just begun to show its tip. One droplet, poised as if to fall yet not falling, drew one’s gaze.

Shen Man reached out, her cool fingertips brushing against that droplet of water.

Lin Shu’s body trembled. The spot touched by the fingertip heated up rapidly, causing her entire body, which had just cooled down, to grow warm again.

“Let go. Go mop the floor. I’m going back to my room to sleep,” Lin Shu said quickly, controlling her inner turmoil, her small face cold.

After saying this, she didn’t dare to look Shen Man in the eye and quickly walked back to her room.

Shen Man rubbed her fingertips together lightly.

The water droplet became a wet streak in her hand, slid down her fingertip, and dripped silently onto the floor.

She turned, looked in Lin Shu’s direction, and her eyes held an unconcealable anger.

Shen Man stood for a moment, then returned to her room and opened her computer.

Her eyes were downcast, and her entire being exuded a cold, stern aura.

Searching for Lin Shu’s name on the computer, Shen Man went through all the information related to her but didn’t find anyone special.

She then logged into Lin Shu’s social media accounts and checked the information of those who had interacted with her.

After carefully filtering and analyzing everything, she still came up with nothing.

Shen Man’s brows furrowed.

After thinking for a moment, her fingertips trembling slightly, she searched for a foreign social media application.

She quickly found a name: Ni Shuang3.
