I like this too.
A new day began, and Fu Lianxue was woken by the alarm clock.
She reached out to turn off the alarm, then turned and burrowed into Chu Zhaoqiu’s embrace to continue sleeping soundly.
Hearing the alarm, Chu Zhaoqiu groggily woke up too.
She glanced first at the light outside, then at the unmoving Great Demon in her arms.
Holding her, she kissed her hair, her just-woken voice carrying a hint of huskiness, “Lianxue, time to get up for breakfast. Don’t you have to go to work?”
The Great Demon in her arms muttered and whined, “I don’t go to the company until the afternoon…”
Chu Zhaoqiu looked bewildered. “Then why set the alarm so early?”
Fu Lianxue’s voice was soft, sounding like she was whining playfully, “I forgot to turn it off…”
Last night, busy with happy matters, turning off the alarm had long been forgotten1.
Chu Zhaoqiu couldn’t help but chuckle softly, her voice very gentle.
Fu Lianxue lifted her face, managing to open one eye to look at her. “Hm? Didn’t I tell you last night that I only go to the company in the afternoon?”
Only then did Chu Zhaoqiu remember, laughing despite herself. “I was muddled from sleep, I forgot too…”
Fu Lianxue forced both eyes open, suddenly tilted her face up to kiss Chu Zhaoqiu on the lips, then lowered her head again, snuggling back into her embrace, draping her arms and legs over her like an octopus.
“Then let’s keep sleeping.”
Chu Zhaoqiu looked at her like this, her eyes full of gentle amusement.
After last night, they had grown even closer, unique in each other’s hearts, incomparable to anyone else.
She reached out, pulling Fu Lianxue into her arms like a treasured jewel she couldn’t bear to release.
However, she still hoped Fu Lianxue would get up for breakfast.
“How about getting up for breakfast? Skipping breakfast isn’t good for you, Lianxue.”
After speaking, she kissed Fu Lianxue’s perfectly rounded, snow-white shoulder, utterly intimate.
Fu Lianxue hummed in her embrace, “How is eating more important than sleeping…”
Hearing this, Chu Zhaoqiu smiled and kissed her forehead, asking between kisses, “Were you too tired last night?”
Fu Lianxue instantly perked up, letting out a haughty hum. “Tired? Doesn’t exist. Don’t underestimate us Charm Demons, I can keep going right now!”
Chu Zhaoqiu suddenly lowered her gaze to look at her. “Really?”
Fu Lianxue raised her head to meet her gaze. “Really.”
Their eyes met, lingering affection tangling in the air. Their gazes, shimmering like water, seemed to be seducing each other, brazenly2 anticipating the start of a new round of intimacy.
Chu Zhaoqiu spoke first, her voice slightly husky, more mature, sexier, more captivating. “Since our Lianxue isn’t tired…”
The next second, she changed the subject3. “Then let’s get up for breakfast.”
Fu Lianxue: “?”
Chu Zhaoqiu smiled and kissed her cheek, coaxing, “Your health is important. Be good, get up and eat breakfast first.”
Although she wanted her very much too, their health was important, eating was important.
Fu Lianxue: “…”
She kicked her arms and legs, starting to act spoiled. “You, surnamed Chu, you have no sense of fun! I don’t want breakfast, I want to sleep!”
Seeing this, Chu Zhaoqiu leaned close to her ear and whispered softly, “We’ll do it after eating.”
“I want soy milk, not too sweet, thank you.”
Fu Lianxue instantly became mature and composed, sitting up in bed immediately.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll go brush my teeth first.”
Chu Zhaoqiu watched her back as she walked into the bathroom and couldn’t help laughing, picking up her phone and following her.
The two ordered takeout while brushing their teeth.
When the takeout arrived, Baobao also sat with them in the living room as they ate breakfast.
They chatted while eating, and the conversation eventually turned to the matter of Chu Zhaoqiu using a sword.
“Are you really not going to use a sword anymore?”
Fu Lianxue held her low-sugar soy milk, a look of regret on her face.
“You wielded your sword so well, and you looked so good doing it. It’s such a pity to just give it up like that.”
Chu Zhaoqiu caught a key point in her words. “You think I looked good wielding a sword?”
“Of course!” Fu Lianxue’s eyes shone brightly. “An elegant young lady, with such a heroic bearing, you looked absolutely stunning!”
She still remembered how Chu Zhaoqiu looked when she wielded her sword.
The young woman stood tall and straight, longsword in hand, its cold light gleaming, robes fluttering. Her sword was cold, her heart steady, her eyes resolute. When she slashed through the air, her imposing aura seemed capable of splitting open the Heavenly Gate and ascending straight to the Ninth Heaven.
Chu Zhaoqiu’s sword also had its moments of tenderness.
Amidst a sky full of falling flower petals, when a peach blossom landed on the tip of her sword, it was as if a spring breeze had arrived overnight4, and this flower had also lightly landed upon the other’s heart.
Chu Zhaoqiu finally realized, her eyes full of pleasant surprise. “Lianxue, so you liked me even back then?”
Fu Lianxue: “…”
——Busted.
“Y-yes, I did! So what? Didn’t you too!”
“I’m very happy,” Chu Zhaoqiu’s eyes curved into crescents, her smile as if dipped in honey, sweet and touching. “I’ve always been in your heart.”
During the several thousand years they were separated, they had always, always kept each other in their hearts, only each other.
The bright moon doesn’t change in a thousand years, and neither does love.
Fu Lianxue: “…”
She always felt a sense of fond helplessness at her honesty… and also liked it a little.
Chu Zhaoqiu had become honest for her, had persisted for so many years for her, and had even given up the sword she had painstakingly studied for over ten years for her.
She had done too much for her.
Thankfully, they had reunited, not letting these efforts go to waste.
She moved forward to kiss her lips, saying playfully, “Happy, are you? Then later you’ll have to work hard to make me happy too.”
Chu Zhaoqiu understood, holding her waist and returning the kiss with a smile. “Please rest assured, our big star, my hand has recovered very well.”
As if that wasn’t enough, she kissed her again, her tone serious. “Lianxue, if you like it, I’ll try using the sword again.”
Fu Lianxue’s eyes curved. “I like it.”
Then, she took her hand again, looking into her eyes. “But I don’t want you to pick up the sword again just because I like it. You should do it ‘because you yourself want to use the sword, therefore you use the sword.’
“Zhaoqiu, I can be one reason you do something, but ultimately, whether you do it or not depends on whether you yourself want to, are willing to, like to—you yourself are the most important, understand?”
She wanted her lover to have her in her heart, but also herself.
She didn’t want a lover who only knew how to please her and had no self; otherwise, what was the difference between that and dating a puppet?
She believed Chu Zhaoqiu understood her meaning better than anyone.
“I understand.”
Chu Zhaoqiu’s eyes curved gently as she softly stroked her lover’s long hair.
The Fu Lianxue before her was no longer the green, immature, reckless little demon of the past. Her Lianxue was more clear-headed and perceptive than before, and had become even more charming, more attractive to her.
Indeed, one shouldn’t be swept along by the preferences and expectations of others.
Whether you want to or not, are willing or not, ultimately, you yourself have the final say.
She hadn’t given her love to the wrong person.
“Lianxue, I like you more and more too.”
When she said this, her eyes held only her, bright as if Fu Lianxue were the star within them.
An incomparably precious, unparalleled star.
Fu Lianxue looked at the smile on her face and said triumphantly, “I’m so outstanding, it’s only natural that my girlfriend likes me more and more~”
Chu Zhaoqiu rested her hand on her temple, watching her, her eyes full of amusement, her heart full of her.
Cute. Everything her Lianxue said and did was cute.
“Let’s hurry up and eat breakfast.”
Fu Lianxue nodded. “Eat, eat, eat! Hurry up and eat, happiness waits for no one!”
Chu Zhaoqiu smiled, raised a finger to wipe away breadcrumbs from the corner of her mouth, then lifted down the little cat that had jumped onto the coffee table to sniff its mommies’ breakfast, preparing to sneak a bite.
“No, Baobao can’t eat this.”
Baobao stretched its neck and meowed, very curious.
The two-legged beasts can eat it, why can’t the little cat?
“Alright, alright,” Fu Lianxue responded, breaking off a tiny piece of bread and offering it to its mouth. “Little cat can only eat a tiny bit, okay.”
“Mroww—”
The little cat expressed its disagreement.
“Disagreeing is useless, Mommy has the final say.”
After speaking, Fu Lianxue cruelly stuffed the rest of the bread into her own mouth right in front of Baobao.
After finishing, she even added mischievously, “Mommy finished it all, Baobao gets none.”
Baobao meowed twice at her from Chu Zhaoqiu’s arms.
Chu Zhaoqiu looked down at the cat, then up at Fu Lianxue.
After a moment, she couldn’t help asking, “Can you understand what Baobao is saying?”
Fu Lianxue shrugged. “Nope. I’m a Charm Demon, not a Cat Demon.”
Every species has its own unique language. Of course, sometimes languages are shared, but their language and a cat’s definitely weren’t.
She hadn’t specifically learned any spirit language either, so it was normal not to understand.
But she had raised Baobao for so long, after all; many things could be understood without language.
Chu Zhaoqiu understood.
Communication relied entirely on tacit understanding5.
“Meow~” Baobao flicked its tail.
The pair finally finished their breakfast.
Fu Lianxue rinsed her mouth, then excitedly opened her arms towards Chu Zhaoqiu, waiting for her to carry her back to the room to start their happy time.
But she saw Chu Zhaoqiu calmly start clearing the table.
Fu Lianxue, arms still open: “?”
She retracted her arms to hug herself, leaning against the wall to watch Chu Zhaoqiu.
The neat-freak Young Head of the Chu Family gathered their finished takeout containers into a trash bag, wiped the table clean, took the trash outside the door, and finally returned to wash her hands and rinse her mouth.
All in one go.
Finished tidying, she finally walked towards Fu Lianxue, opened her arms to her, watched her jump up, and held her steadily.
“Our Young Family Head really loves being clean,” Fu Lianxue said.
“Being clean is a good thing. Has our Lianxue been waiting long?” Chu Zhaoqiu asked with a smile.
“Long, ages! You’ll have to compensate me properly later,” Fu Lianxue gazed into her eyes, smiling slyly. “It’s time for our Zhaoqiu’s right-hand recovery training again~”
Chu Zhaoqiu carried her towards the room, looking innocent. “Does Lianxue only like my right hand?”
Fu Lianxue shared the favor equally6. “I like the left hand too, and also…”
Slender fingers landed on Chu Zhaoqiu’s lips, the pads gently caressing them, then sliding softly inside.
“I like this too.”
Seduction ignited the prelude to intimacy.
They kissed each other as they returned to the room.
Chu Zhaoqiu gently nudged the door closed with her foot.
They once again became lost in their own world.
The little kitty shut outside the door: “Meow~”
It scratched the door twice.
Its mommies didn’t pay it any attention.
“Meow!”
It turned and went to do parkour in the living room.
