Fate Trading System – Chapter 99

Plan A

Rise in Another World 11

Something happened

The young girl, holding her already packed belongings, walked outside with Su Xin.

They exchanged names with each other, and for the first time, Su Xin heard the young girl speak.

“Yu Si, my name.”

“Su Xin, it is called Nan Cheng, you can also call it Little One, but this is my exclusive nickname for it, you can call it whatever you like based on its name.”

Su Xin introduced herself, then pointed to the cat in her arms.

Yu Si nodded, indicating she understood.

When she was about to go up to the second floor, Su Xin asked her to wait a moment while she went to notify the teacher.

Yu Si nodded while holding her things, watching Su Xin and her cat leave.

When Su Xin returned, she found Yu Si still standing there, maintaining the same posture she had when she left, motionless.

Su Xin felt that Yu Si really resembled a robot, her head lowered as if in standby mode, as if she had lost her soul.

Su Xin went to her own dormitory and requested to change rooms. That girl initially disagreed, but seeing the teacher there, she couldn’t lose her temper on the spot, maintaining her image.

“They have already discussed it, you can move to the fifth room downstairs.”

The teacher just wanted to settle it quickly because it really wasn’t a troublesome matter; just a word and she would update the records.

That girl wanted to say something else, but after glancing at the cold Yu Si beside her, swept by her silver eyes, she nodded.

Thus, the matter was perfectly resolved. The teacher marked something in her notebook and hurriedly left, looking very busy.

“Hello there.”

Li Xiuxiu swallowed the last bite of her pastry and greeted Yu Si.

Li Xiuxiu didn’t stand very close; she stood outside the close range, friendly and polite.

Su Xin noticed this and raised her eyebrows. This seemingly rough and careless roommate wasn’t as simple and naive as she appeared on the surface.

That girl’s quilt was already laid out, and someone had sat on it.

“Fire element?”

Yu Si looked at Su Xin, and Su Xin nodded.

Yu Si pulled down the laid sheet and began to use her magic.

She belonged to the water element, exactly like that girl from earlier.

Su Xin thought of that girl’s fearful reaction when she saw Yu Si.

“Do you know that person from before?”

“Same clan.”

Yu Si was sparing with words, speaking very briefly.

Su Xin made a sound of acknowledgment, watching Yu Si’s actions.

The water element magic lifted the sheet into the air and wetted it.

Li Xiuxiu twitched the corners of her mouth, seeing for the first time someone using magic to wash clothes like this. However, being able to do it to this extent only indicates a very good level of control over magic.

Yu Si, seeing that the washing was almost done, looked up at Su Xin.

Su Xin raised her hand to summon the fire element and carefully dried the sheet.

The quality of the sheet was very good, so it didn’t wrinkle like this.

Yu Si prepared to make the bed herself, but it still looked messy.

She didn’t ask for help and continued to do it herself.

Su Xin couldn’t bear to watch and went over to help.

School life settled down like this, and Su Xin had two roommates with very different styles.

Li Xiuxiu, tall and strong, loved to eat tremendously, seemingly always having endless food, her mouth seemingly never stopping, an earth element magician, a very noticeable presence in a crowd.

Yu Si, a petite girl with silver hair resembling a robot, seemingly young, a water element magician, with a peculiar personality, sparing with words, and helpless in daily life.

The life that followed wasn’t dull or boring. Although the three people were roommates, they were not in the same class because they belonged to different departments, and the training they received was different. However, their daily routines were similar; every day consisted of either training or attending classes.

Every morning, Li Xiuxiu was the first to wake up, even earlier than Yu Si and Su Xin. Although she was quite large, her actions of getting up and washing were very light. When she woke up, the other two people in the dormitory, including a cat, would wake up but then go back to sleep.

After a while, everyone would get up.

Li Xiuxiu would wake up so early because, according to her, she was very hungry, too hungry to sleep, so she got up to replenish her energy. She also went to bed the earliest every night. Yu Si always rested with her eyes closed, so it was unclear if she was resting or cultivating.

Su Xin finished washing up and leisurely ate breakfast from the dining hall not far from the dormitory.

Su Xin fed the cat while eating. The three of them ate in the dormitory, although most people would choose to eat in the dining hall. However, the three roommates attracted a lot of attention, and whenever they went to eat, they were watched, which felt uncomfortable.

Most of the attention on Li Xiuxiu was disdainful, as such a big figure with a mouth that never stops eating was an anomaly in the magic continent, where beauty is seen as being slender and thin. Li Xiuxiu was naturally an outlier.

Yu Si was good-looking but not popular; most of the gazes on her were curious and admiring because she was the most arrogant and conceited among the new students. She never responded when the senior students talked to her, which made many dissatisfied. Her way of handling things was also very rough: if you don’t agree, then to the arena.

The Magic Academy forbids private fights but allows students to challenge and duel openly, which is what the arena is for.

Yu Si defeated those who had spoken ill of her before in the arena. Although she was injured herself, after defeating them, she didn’t say a word to her opponents. Just like in the beginning, she didn’t say much, but she gave her opponents enough humiliation, becoming famous in one stroke.

Su Xin discovered that when Yu Si was chanting, she would also make sounds, just very softly.

Su Xin felt that not chanting seemed strange, and it would be bad if someone noticed something unusual.

In this era where every magician chants awkwardly, if Su Xin skipped this step, she would probably be taken for research.

Su Xin, with Little One, was also quite noticeable. In fact, many people brought animals to the Magic Academy, and many were their good partners. Some teachers also brought their treasures, but most were large animals like lions and leopards, medium-sized like snakes, and small ones like spiders. Bringing a cat was a first, especially since this cat looked so cute, seemingly only able to act adorable without any lethality.

Su Xin’s face was also very noticeable, and she had received many invitations to dine together, but all who approached were scratched by Little One, without exception.

One day, another person came over, smiling and inviting her to eat, with a very proper attitude but a very clear intention.

When Little One ran out, Su Xin didn’t even see it, only feeling her shoulder lighten and then heavy again.

Meanwhile, the senior brother opposite her had a few more scratch marks on his face, and Su Xin quickly apologized.

The senior brother found it very strange; it was just a beast, but its speed when it pounced was terrifying, and they were so close that there was no time to dodge.

The cat didn’t use any magical elements when attacking, so the defensive artifact on his body didn’t react at all.

Although a little medication can make the scratches on his face disappear, they still sting painfully, and it’s quite embarrassing.

“Senior brother, I’m really sorry, it doesn’t like others getting close to me.”

Su Xin apologized sincerely, and the senior brother waved it off.

“It’s fine, it’s fine.”

Even while staring at the cat scratch marks, he still had to maintain elegance.

As the senior brother left, he muttered to himself, hoping it wasn’t a male cat, being so jealous.

Little One licked its paws, obediently looking at Su Xin with wet, innocent eyes.

“You…”

Su Xin pinched her paw, helpless with her.

“I didn’t plan on getting close to them, be careful next time, don’t attack just anyone.”

Su Xin just thought Little One was being protective, even though she knew Little One had its own intelligence.

“Meow.”

Little One indicated it understood, but it just didn’t like those guys approaching Su Xin, giving off a vibe of ill intentions.

Su Xin didn’t know what Little One was thinking; if they could converse, she would certainly laugh.

Well, if the senior brothers needed to be guarded against, what about the senior sisters or female classmates who approached with goodwill?

The only ones Little One was relatively close to were Li Xiuxiu and Yu Si. Although it wouldn’t let Li Xiuxiu pet it, it wouldn’t refuse her feeding, after all, Li Xiuxiu’s braised fish was really delicious.

Initially, Su Xin thought life would continue peacefully like this until she could take the trial in the Sky-reaching Tower, and then she would find her mother after entering the tower. However, something happened in between that involved her most important partner, Little One.

“This student, if you don’t have evidence, don’t make baseless accusations and false charges.”

There were many people present, and it was very noisy.

Su Xin held Little One, facing her was Yu Man, her original roommate from over half a semester ago, a water element magician and a clanmate of Yu Si, who didn’t like Little One.

“In the school, only you have a cat. If it’s not yours, who else could it be? And someone saw with their own eyes that it was a white cat, moving very quickly.”

Yu Man looked miserable, even somewhat hysterical, with scars crisscrossing her face and burn marks. Everyone present was influenced by her emotions, angrily glaring at Su Xin and her cat.

“And your cat is a fire element beast, right? If it’s not it, who else could it be?”

“I have no motive to do such a thing, nor does my cat.”

Su Xin looked indifferent. Little One was indeed a fire element beast, undeniably.

“I’m just asking if it’s fire element.”

“It is.”

“Duanmu Furan, for the sake of your beast’s innocence, I hope you can let us take it for investigation for a while.”

This was indeed strange. Although it looked like something Little One would do, there was no need for it.

“Teacher, my cat doesn’t need to attack people, and it has always stayed by my side.”

Su Xin held Little One, shaking her head.

“Maybe it went crazy. It’s known to attack people constantly, and as its owner, of course, you would cover for it!”
