Plan A
Gift of the Spring Breeze 17
Strange
Su Xin that night invisibly returned with Ling Zhi to Lan Yue brother’s residence, to see his mourning hall.
No ghost, already gone.
Su Xin ran inside the room where Lan Yue lived to look; she always felt this girl was strange, but couldn’t say why.
She discovered Lan Yue intentionally or unintentionally ignored her, and she didn’t really like this laundry detergent young lady.
Inside the room, there was no one; it was already the middle of the night, and she didn’t know where the person had gone.
The next day, Su Xin told this matter to Qin Yi, who nodded while supporting his chin.
A few days later, several people rushed from other places to Jinling to discuss this matter together.
They confirmed with each other that the murderer was the same person.
Qin Yi stood beside holding a sword; he didn’t recognize any of these people.
These three people had a big age difference: one was an elder with graying temples, another a middle-aged person, and the other a young person.
When Qin Yi and Su Xin entered, that young person’s eyes were continually on Su Xin, with a somewhat absent-minded expression.
Su Xin stood behind Qin Yi, who blocked the young person’s line of sight, as Su Xin pinched the corner of her clothes, seeming to be playing.
“Has anyone made enemies with people?”
“In Jianghu, who doesn’t have a few enemies? But who dares to do this?”
The middle-aged person looked very angry; his child had been killed, and he only had this one son, treated like a precious pearl. Who would have known… hateful!
“Yes… I’ve already retired for many years… I didn’t think anyone would still remember an old man like me, and even harm my relatives so viciously.”
The elder coughed twice, his eyes turbid.
“Master’s age is already high, not suitable for coming out, so I came on behalf of Master to walk this journey. Master has also retired for many years, and we didn’t expect that little aunt would be killed by an enemy. That person even left a note saying it was because of Master.”
The young person looked still very inexperienced and said indignantly, but his eyes still tried to look at Su Xin, causing the middle-aged person beside him to sneer.
“Currently, we only know it’s a man skilled in habitual palm techniques with profound martial arts, and we don’t know anything else. We also don’t know if there will be a next one, so we can only think about the connections among these matters.”
“Do you all know each other?”
Qin Yi asked.
“Don’t know.”
The elder, middle-aged person, and Lan Yue said, while the young person sat lazily, spreading his hands.
“Probably don’t know, right? How could I know my master’s matters?”
Several people couldn’t understand; they wanted to find the person for revenge but didn’t know where to look.
It left people puzzled.
“If I catch that person, I will surely crush his bones and scatter his ashes.”
The middle-aged person said, gnashing his teeth, and several people agreed.
Qin Yi discovered that, at the beginning when they entered, those few servants were not seen; inside the whole residence, there were only Lan Yue, Lan Yue’s coachman, and Lan Yue’s maid.
Lan Yue’s brother’s coffin is still there, and his seven days after death have not yet passed.
Lan Yue manages living but not eating, and her tracks are fleeting. They want to catch the person, yet have no clue at all.
This should be the most troublesome case Qin Yi has handled. When he arrived, the deceased was already in the coffin, and the other three were already buried. They know the cause of death but don’t know the motive, and the murderer might have already long escaped without a trace, leaving them completely bewildered.
The other three people are also very depressed; they specially ran here to gather, but found nothing useful. The victims gathered together still can’t find the murderer.
Lan Yue appears extraordinarily calm, not anxious at all.
The middle-aged person looked at her leisurely manner and couldn’t help but ask out loud.
“Miss Lan, you indeed have a big heart. A close relative was killed, and now the murderer is at large, yet you’re still here peacefully eating sour and spicy food?”
In other words, doesn’t your conscience hurt?
“Otherwise, what do you want me to do? Be uneasy in rest and food? My elder brother would feel bad seeing me like that, and besides, would acting that way help find the murderer? I can’t do anything.”
“Then what is the meaning of us coming here?”
“Originally, I thought being together would yield some useful things, but now it seems not. If you want to leave, feel free.”
Lan Yue still maintained that gentle manner, but the words spoken were not polite.
“The other two are the same. If you don’t have the patience, or have your own things to be busy with, or if you have your own interests, you can leave. There’s no need to stay here; Lan Yue won’t force you to stay.”
Lan Yue’s conscience wasn’t hurt, and she was even joyful.
The three people exchanged a glance, and that young person first broke the silence.
“Jinling is so prosperous, much better than me staying in that desolate place. Why should I leave? Moreover, I can live here for free and also see beauties, isn’t that so?”
The young person spoke very directly, with quite a bit of roguishness.
“My elder brother is already deceased, so this mansion is vacant now. If you want to stay, then stay; Lan Yue has no objection.”
The elder and middle-aged person left the meeting hall without saying anything.
The young person didn’t leave and moved close to Su Xin’s side.
“Miss, I offer my courtesy here. May I ask your fragrant name?”
The young person awkwardly performed a scholar’s greeting, smiling as he moved towards Su Xin.
Qin Yi frowned and pushed his sword forward a bit, blocking the young person’s attempt to approach.
“Stay away from her.”
Although Qin Yi knows Su Xin is already involved with a female ghost, and she herself is a demon, so she won’t be easily harmed, he still fears she might be deceived.
Anyway, keeping male creatures away is correct.
“Are you his elder brother?”
“No.”
You’re wrong; I’m her father.
“Then are you her sweetheart?”
“No.”
“Then is she your sweetheart?”
“No.”
Qin Yi continuously answered with three ‘no’s, and the young person rolled his eyes.
“Then why do you still care so much?”
“Young master, let’s go.”
Su Xin was too lazy to bother with this person; very fake.
Lan Yue did not continue to stay here and had already walked out.
“Miss, I only want to acquaint myself with you, I don’t have any other intentions.”
The young person quickly leaped in front of Su Xin, putting away that rogue appearance and looking somewhat serious. The young person’s appearance wasn’t bad and had some handsome, elegant charm.
Su Xin extended her hand, touching the young person’s face.
The young person stiffened for a moment, then relaxed to let her touch, also wearing a proud smile.
Qin Yi coldly faced, child, how can you touch another’s face in front of me, are you worthy of your father and your ghost wife?
Su Xin withdrew her hand and rather disdainfully wiped it with the corner of her garment.
“Miss, you touched my face and now want to not be responsible?”
“Your face is too fake.”
“What do you mean?”
The young person’s expression changed, very unpleasant.
“You know the meaning yourself.”
Su Xin left, with Qin Yi walking side by side.
“Something strange?”
Qin Yi looked for several days and didn’t see anything. If the young person’s face had a human skin mask, he wouldn’t possibly miss it. No matter how superb the disguise technique is, there will be a time of flaw, but the expression revealed on that face was very real, not at all like it was covered with a layer of something.
“Yes, there is something on his face; he is actually already very old.”
Su Xin said when she leaned very close, she felt that kind of life-declining aura.
Either this young person is already nearing death, with a long illness not recovering, or he is already old.
But the young person behaved very healthily, lively and jumping, so it’s impossible that he has the appearance of a long illness not recovering.
Su Xin, through touching his face, discovered a clue.
“I know now. I might disappear for a few days. No need to worry about me; I’m going to investigate some things.”
“Do you want me to follow? If you leave and I’m still here, will it be very strange?”
Su Xin pointed to herself.
“No need, you stay here, then they will know I will certainly return.”
“Okay, young master, you must pay attention to safety.”
“To others, just say I went to visit a friend, understand?”
“Mm!”
Qin Yi left that day, leaving Su Xin to casually wander.
Before leaving, Qin Yi left her a bag of silver money, telling her to always pay for things when buying. If she sees something she likes, she shouldn’t hesitate to buy it, but of course, she must be careful not to be cheated.
My daughter who grows up this good-looking will be cheated at a glance.
When Su Xin went out, she felt someone was following her, just behind her, but she couldn’t turn back now to see who it was.
Su Xin deliberately walked to a place with few people, becoming more remote as she walked, then turned into a small alley and became invisible.
She waited at the original place for a while, but no one came over, so she walked out, still maintaining her invisible state.
She saw the person following her, someone she didn’t recognize, just a very ordinary middle-aged person who would be impossible to find if thrown into a crowd.
Su Xin felt very strange and just kept following him to see where he was going.
It wasn’t until she followed him to a place that she knew the answer.
That middle-aged person walked into the center of an alley and wiped off the disguise on his face, surprisingly revealing the young person’s face, and even his body shape changed back to the original appearance.
“Strange… how did she disappear…”
The young person murmured to himself, walking along the alley with twists and turns, finally returning to Lan Yue’s brother’s residence.
It can be seen, he is very familiar with the terrain here.
He was very cautious all the way, paying attention to the surrounding environment from time to time.
Clearly, Su Xin was invisibly following by his side, but he seemed to always be aware, continuously looking back and then speeding up his steps.
Su Xin still followed him, watching him walk into the room, wanting to see if he would remove another layer of disguise from his face.
How many layers has this person plastered on his face?
After waiting for a while, this young person didn’t make any movement and directly went to bed to sleep. It’s just afternoon now; sleeping seems a bit too early.
Bored, Su Xin walked out and started wandering in other places using her invisible state, going to that middle-aged person’s room.
The middle-aged person wasn’t in the room, and she didn’t know where he went.
Su Xin then ran to the elder’s room, where the elder was also sleeping on the bed. Su Xin shook her head, thinking about the life of old people.
Lan Yue was still, as always, not in the residence. Su Xin decided to start following her from tomorrow, to see exactly where she runs all day long.
Bored, Su Xin ran to the local Yue Lao Temple. The incense here was much more prosperous compared to Yuanzhou, with many faithful men and women, all coming to seek marriage fate.
The spiritual energy here was also very abundant. Su Xin leaned invisibly on Yue Lao’s statue, squinting her eyes to absorb it.
Yue Lao was rubbing the red thread when he suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder.
