Plan A
Divine Vestige 20
Su Xin grabbed Slayer’s tail and gave the little fox a good, thorough lesson.
Slayer was in high spirits, tirelessly returning the favor in kind. Su Xin would gain the upper hand only to be smoothly suppressed in turn.
When it came to this sort of thing, a bit of back-and-forth was always more interesting.
The Beastman God was dealt with just as easily. Su Xin was incredibly grateful for Slayer’s divine assist; otherwise, who knew how much trouble it would have been.
As they were leaving the beastman territory, Slayer felt that the other two were looking at her a bit strangely.
“What’s with those two? They’ve been acting weird all day.”
She could feel the pity in Mi Lou and Sha Ying’s gazes, and Slayer was completely bewildered.
“They saw me being intimate with you back in the beastman domain.”
“So what?”
“But they don’t know that it was you. So they think I’ve betrayed you, that I was with someone else behind your back.”
“But it’s all me.”
“That’s a secret, you know.”
Su Xin pressed a finger to Slayer’s lips, and Slayer licked it.
During a break, Slayer deliberately put on a show of affection, kissing Su Xin on the lips right in front of the other two.
“I like Xuanxuan the most, and Xuanxuan likes me the most too, right?”
“Mhm.”
Slayer shot a look at Mi Lou and Sha Ying, the meaning of which was roughly, Hurry and look, hurry and look, Xuanxuan said she likes me the most.
Mi Lou and Sha Ying clearly got the message, and the pity in their hearts grew even thicker.
Oh, girl, you’d better wear your forgiveness-green hat well. You could definitely be crowned a king.
The rest of the journey was just as interesting.
For the Dwarf race, Su Xin didn’t need to go herself. What the dwarves cared about wasn’t who got injured or who sang a song.
The dwarves were undoubtedly the most outstanding alchemists, and their level of technology was more advanced than any other race’s.
They could create puppets—of course, these weren’t the dead, decaying creatures of the undead, but rather robots.
With the Demon race, Su Xin had played the part of a mafia boss’s pure and innocent lover. It was simply too embarrassing to watch.
The demons had tails, different from a fox’s. Theirs were thin and long with a curve, ending in a sharp tip, which made Su Xin give Slayer the cold shoulder for several days afterward.
They were now on their way to the human territory.
“Xuanxuan, can you stop being angry, please?”
Slayer cautiously sidled over. Su Xin had been ignoring her for days now, wearing a cold expression, not speaking to her, not smiling at her. Slayer was very upset.
Su Xin didn’t even look at her, moving to the other side.
Su Xin was genuinely angry. Not just because Slayer had taken things too far, but because Slayer hadn’t listened to her at that moment.
Su Xin was a very controlling person. Regardless of whether she was on top or Slayer was on top, she was always the one in the dominant position. But Slayer had actually dared to tie her hands… although it felt good, she was still angry.
Mi Lou and Sha Ying sighed to themselves, not daring to interfere in the love-hate drama between the two powerhouses. In their eyes, the hat on Slayer’s head was already glowing green.
Truly terrifying.
“Xuanxuan, just say one word to me. I promise I won’t dare to next time. Or you can tie me up in return.”
“Shut up.”
Su Xin was thinking about other things. The Human God might have the weakest divine power of all, but he was perhaps the most cunning and intelligent, possessing great wisdom.
His weak point was between his eyebrows, which wouldn’t be easy to strike.
Moreover, the way to lure out the Human God was to pique his interest.
The Human God believed himself to be omniscient, that there was no human problem in the world he didn’t understand. As long as they seized upon this point, they could draw him out quite well.
That part wasn’t an issue. After all, Fourteen’s search engine contained a great many difficult questions, more than enough to entice the Human God of this era.
But for a thief, nothing was impossible. Slayer could not only strike from behind but could also attack from the front with a speed that could catch anyone off guard.
This time, they didn’t need to roleplay as anyone. Most humans were believers in the God of Light, not the Human God. The Human God’s followers were only a few sages, or rather, erudite and ambitious people who wished to obtain knowledge.
All they had to do was attract the Human God’s attention with a difficult problem.
The pace of the whole operation quickened. Su Xin communicated with Lang Ning while they hurried on their way.
Although the situation was under control, the number of the Lost Ones was constantly increasing. The Hunters’ actions had been contained, but there was no way to control the number of the Lost Ones.
Su Xin felt that this BUG didn’t possess full self-awareness. It had a consciousness because it wanted to turn the illusory into reality, but at the same time, it was very mechanical and lacked a human way of thinking, which was the best-case scenario.
The God of Light was the last one.
Once she collected his godhood, she could head to the final destination.
Gods could sense the faith of people. The more devout a person’s faith in him, the more deeply he could feel it, and in turn, he would bestow upon them more powerful holy light.
Those with the purest holy light were the darlings of the god.
What could possibly cause this high and mighty god to feel shaken enough to descend to the mortal realm?
The God of Light was even more cold, heartless, and cruel than the other gods.
His brilliance shone across the continent, except for the lands of the undead and the demons. He was the most powerful.
“Slayer, are you sure you’re okay with this?”
Su Xin couldn’t guarantee anything for this one. The difficulty of this operation was the highest. If they failed to succeed, it would be very troublesome.
Lang Ning and the others were already researching how to restore the control panel. The backpack system had been stabilized and the Creator God couldn’t get rid of it, but it was under constant attack.
“Of course, Xuanxuan. You have to have faith in me.”
The current Slayer was much more powerful than when Su Xin had first met her, having absorbed all that power.
“That’s good.”
The God of Light loved to listen to his followers’ prayers, their daily confessions to him.
The current Saintess of the Church was undoubtedly his favorite. He had bestowed upon her a great deal of pure, holy power, making the Saintess’s strength grow ever greater.
Su Xin took over the Saintess NPC and was currently being attended to. Soon, she would go to perform her daily prayer.
When would be the best time to attract the God of Light’s attention?
How about having two of his most devout, most beloved followers betray him at the same time?
The Saintess was just the Saintess. Above her, there was still a Pope.
The Pope was a woman with a somewhat beautiful and alluring appearance. She looked like she should be frivolous and wanton, but in fact, she wasn’t. Her heart was exceptionally pure. When she wore the papal vestments, although she didn’t have a face that was pure as ice and chaste as jade1, she still exuded a sense of pure faith and power.
And Slayer had become her.
“The God of Light’s weak point is his heart.”
Slayer nodded, indicating she understood.
“Your Highness the Saintess, you may have your breakfast.”
A maid brought in the morning meal.
Su Xin was sitting before a mirror while a maid combed her hair, her nimble fingers weaving through the strands, creating a beautiful style.
After finishing breakfast, Su Xin arrived at the empty sanctuary.
Not just anyone could enter this place. There was nothing inside but a single divine statue.
“My God.”
Su Xin began to pray, her expression devout, praise-filled words spilling from her lips.
Su Xin was an atheist, but in situations where it was necessary, she would make herself believe a little.
The God of Light sat upon his divine throne, watching his little follower in the mirror, listening to her whispered words, and feeling very satisfied.
He was very fond of this little follower. Her soul was so pure, without a single speck of filth, and her loyalty and love for him made him very happy.
Oh, my lovely little thing.
The God of Light closed his eyes, quietly enjoying the moment.
“My God, I have sinned.”
The God of Light suddenly heard this sentence and his eyes flew open.
He saw his little follower leaning against his statue, her face filled with guilt, her eyes shimmering with moisture as if tears were about to fall at any moment.
【Host, keep it up, he’s watching.】
Completely okay2.
“I am no longer your most devout follower, nor can I love you with all my heart. I am filled with such guilt, yet I cannot control my heart.”
“When I see her, my heart can’t help but leap for joy. When she is close to me, I can’t help but smile happily. What should I do? How can I control my heart? My God, what should I do?”
Su Xin spoke words that even she found cringeworthy. She could only say such things while maintaining this persona.
Slayer stood at the doorway. Although she knew Su Xin’s words were false, her heart couldn’t help but tremble.
How could that be about anyone but her? It could only be her.
To be joyous just by seeing her, to be content with just a single smile from her.
It wasn’t a love that was humble as dust, but simply a love so deep that it was held in the very core of her heart, where her every move and action pulled at her heartstrings.
The God of Light was furious. His little follower should belong to him, believe in him.
The Saintess of the Church, including the Pope, could not be impure.
The God of Light then saw a scene that shocked him even more. The person approaching his little follower was also one of his loyal devotees, his previously most favored child.
The Pope wrapped her arms around the Saintess’s waist from behind in a cherished gesture, placing a soft kiss in her hair.
“I think, I too, must confess my sins to our God.”
Slayer held Su Xin in her arms, looking up at the divine statue with a complex expression.
“This is the god I have served and believed in my entire life. I thought it would always be this way, until I met you.”
Slayer kissed Su Xin’s fingertips, a gesture of worship, gentle yet soul-stirring.
Su Xin revealed a perfectly timed shy expression, burying herself in Slayer’s embrace.
“The way you believe in him so fervently… it makes me jealous.”
“I have decided to renounce my faith, to no longer live for God, but for you.”
“I want to snatch you from his hands, so that in your eyes, in your heart, in your mind, there is only me.”
“No, don’t say it.”
Su Xin covered Slayer’s lips in a panic, tears streaming from her eyes.
Master Fourteen, I think this performance is truly nauseating.
