Fate Trading System – Chapter 281

Plan A

Divine Vestige 7

Pain spread from her lips. After all, the two of them had collided hard, knocking against each other. It was not a particularly pleasant feeling.

The taste of blood spread between her lips and teeth. Slayer felt a bit of pain, so she licked her lips, incidentally licking Su Xin in the process.

“It’s bleeding.”

Slayer said it with a natural expression, showing no other reaction to the accidental kiss.

“Sorry.”

Su Xin stood up and wiped her lips. It hurt a little.

“It’s fine.”

Slayer’s demeanor was normal as she opened her eyes to survey the situation inside the room.

It was a bit soft, and a little painful.

Sha Ying stared, dumbfounded, unsure how the scene just now had happened. It was all over in an instant.

Su Xin’s Light Magic had stung Shu Ai, who counterattacked, preparing to escape at the first opportunity. But as Su Xin was casting the spell, she had also managed to immobilize him.

“So it was Dark Magic. I knew something was off.”

Sha Ying scratched his head and walked inside, looking at Shu Ai, who was bound to the ground by a beam of light.

So the big shot is also a Light Mage. Wow, what an amazing player.

Su Xin cast a minor healing spell, curing the wounds on both her and Slayer’s lips.

Shu Ai glared at them, then lowered his head again with a cold expression.

“I got tied up by some small fry, so I couldn’t get here sooner. Glad you’re okay.”

Sha Ying explained why he hadn’t arrived at the first moment, feeling apologetic about it.

Su Xin shook her head, indicating it didn’t matter.

“How should we deal with him?”

Slayer seemed a bit interested in Shu Ai, the dagger in her hand glinting with a cold light.

“Let’s kill him. I’ll clean up the dark aura in the town afterward.”

Su Xin opened her skill panel and selected a relatively suitable one.

Shu Ai struggled for a moment, a strange expression appearing on his face. It was a twisted smile.

“If you kill me, what’s the difference between you and me?”

“Oh no, I’m righteous.”

Su Xin wagged her finger and began to chant.

An increasingly bright light spilled from Su Xin’s palm. Sha Ying turned his head away, his eyes stung by the glare.

Slayer, however, didn’t seem to be affected at all and watched Su Xin’s movements with great interest.

The intense light blasted Shu Ai to dust. The death of a Dark-forsaken was different from that of an ordinary person; Su Xin didn’t even need to dispose of a body.

The continuous consumption of energy left Su Xin a bit tired. After replenishing some stamina, she purified the small town.

Her platinum-blonde hair radiated light, and her simple white robe also had a faint golden glow.

Since it was not yet dawn, the three of them decided to wait until sunrise to leave.

Lying on the bed, Su Xin thought about her radiant appearance—it was quite the display of showing off1.

Only people from the Church knew Light Magic because it required baptism in the Temple of Light. The more pious a person was, the greater their power. Su Xin, naturally, had no piety in her heart; her power all came from the NPC Saintess.

Su Xin placed the God of Light last in her priorities, which might prove troublesome later.

The sun today was just as bright as yesterday. The residents of the small town went on with their lives, having forgotten the disaster they had once suffered.

The three continued on their journey without stopping, paying little attention to anything else except what was directly in their path, until they reached a certain border.

This was an ocean that separated humans and elves.

To get to the Elven Forest, one had to cross the Sea of Delusion.

Fortunately, the Sea of Delusion was not the dwelling place of the merfolk.

“How are we supposed to get across?”

Sha Ying was in a bit of a bind. He did have a Water-Entry Pearl—a great item he’d gotten from some instance raid—but it was currently in his inventory, and he had no way to access it.

What Su Xin wanted was Sha Ying’s Water-Entry Pearl. With it, one could breathe and move freely in the water. After activating the pearl, it could be upgraded. At its highest level, it allowed for mimetic transformation, which would make facing the merfolk much less of a passive situation.

Su Xin was glad that the undead had no gods. As creatures that had long since decayed and died, they possessed no divinity and were thus rejected by other races.

“You wait for us here. The two of us will go over. We’ll come back once we’ve achieved our goal.”

“Okay.”

Sha Ying agreed. He didn’t really want to go to the Elven Forest anyway, feeling like he’d be shot into a sieve the moment he stepped inside.

“I can get in, I have a way. But what about you?”

Su Xin could transform into the Elven Queen, but summoning a god took time.

The aura of a living person would be extremely conspicuous in the Elven Forest. No matter how skilled Miss Thief was, it would be impossible for her to hide on someone else’s home turf; she would definitely attract attention.

Nor could Su Xin bring Slayer in as a guest. The current elven race was extremely exclusionary toward humans, having isolated themselves and requested the merfolk to demarcate the Sea of Delusion. Any human who attempted to cross would sink.

The Elven Queen had never been out, so how could she possibly bring a guest back?

“I naturally have my own ways. You don’t need to worry, Xuanxuan.”

An inexplicable light flickered in Slayer’s eyes. If one looked closely, they could see the flow of data within.

“I can appear anywhere in the world, and become anyone I want to be.”

A smile played on Slayer’s lips; she seemed extremely confident.

Lord Fourteen, what does she mean by that?

【Host, she means to say she is a string of flowing data. This is not impossible. This one shall observe further.】

“Of course, except for those things. If it weren’t for the fact that I can’t become them, the trouble would have been solved long ago.”

Slayer said with dissatisfaction. She couldn’t breach those things and could only approach them from the side.

“Is that so?”

“Of course. Please do not doubt my abilities. They are beyond question.”

Slayer stood on the shore, gazing into the distance. The ocean stretched out without end, and the sunlight sprinkled across its surface, looking so full of sentiment.

“Alright.”

Su Xin opened her control panel and selected the Elven Queen.

Balala Energy2, transform!

Su Xin entered a mimetic state. Her hair grew long, emitting a soft green glow. She wore a floral wreath on her head and was dressed in green robes. A crown sat atop her head, and she held a staff in her hand. She looked dignified and beautiful, yet also graceful and light.

“Beautiful. You go first. I’ll appear by your side soon.”

Su Xin summoned a fish from the depths of the sea and had it carry her toward the Elven Forest.

The trees at the entrance rustled. All things have a spirit; in the Elven Forest, every single plant had its own consciousness.

“Your Majesty the Queen, you have returned.”

The NPCs would naturally find a reason for Su Xin’s actions. NPCs wouldn’t find it strange that Su Xin came from across the sea, because their memories would be adjusted.

This was, of course, for the sake of the player’s comfort. If the difficulty was too high, who would want to play? In promoting a game, Lang Ning aimed for everyone to participate, not just a specific group of people.

“En.”

“The weather is lovely today. The ocean must be beautiful as well.”

The speaker was the Captain of the Elven Guard. She was tall and slender, with a bow and arrows on her back.

“Yes, it is.”

The Elven Queen didn’t actually let the little elves wander casually from their homes to the ocean side.

If they accidentally fell into the sea and their wings got wet, it would be very difficult for them to fly, which would be dangerous.

“Your Majesty!”

Joyful cries came from nearby. Several tender, white, and soft little elves fluttered over on their wings, circling around Su Xin.

“Hi, Rhees. Hi, Mena. Hi, Sev.”

The three little elves each had their own names, and they flew about happily upon hearing themselves recognized.

“Your Majesty, this is the floral wreath we’re weaving for you! It’s not finished yet, but we’ll work hard on it!”

Su Xin held out her hand, and the three little elves landed on it. They were very light. Su Xin stroked them; the texture was unbelievably good.

Only young elves had their wings exposed; upon reaching adolescence, their wings would be spontaneously retracted.

The elves’ figures were lithe and nimble, allowing them to shuttle through the forest with ease, often without needing the power of their wings.

“Alright, I will be waiting for you.”

Su Xin made her way back to her palace. It was beautifully arranged, unlike the architecture of humans or other places. It was not made of bricks and tiles, but entirely of trees and flowers.

There was also a large swing, with a soft bed beside it.

Su Xin handled some affairs. There wasn’t much to be busy with, really. The elven race had been isolated from the world for a long time, staying in their own little corner, guarding their Mother Tree. The only concerns were the health of the young elves.

It was warm like spring here all year round. The great trees worked hard to bear fruit, and industrious bees and butterflies made honey. This was a true paradise on earth.

After getting everything in order, Su Xin went to the Tree of Life.

Elves did not reproduce through a certain act. All elves were fruits that grew on the Elven Mother Tree. When the fruit ripened, a little elf would fly out from within, then slowly grow up and continue to care for new little elves.

Newborn elves were extremely fragile and needed to be cared for meticulously, otherwise they could easily die young.

This tree was the foundation of all elves—their survival and their hope.

If the Tree of Life was destroyed, the elven race would be as good as destroyed.

Su Xin checked on the condition of the little elves that had not yet emerged. After confirming that the several fruits were all healthy, she gave a few instructions to the elven guards, glanced at the Elven Spring, and then left.

When a little elf was born, it had to be baptized in the Elven Spring. The Tree of Life and the Elven Spring were companions, interdependent on each other.

This place was of the utmost importance.

Summoning a god was not easy. The gods were watching them from another place. The Elven Queen sometimes communicated with the main god, but not for long, though their relationship was quite good.

If one wanted the Elven God to appear, it had to be for a very important matter.

“Queen, the Princess wishes to see you.”

“Let her in.”

The Elven Queen had a daughter. She was the most satisfactory child she had seen on the Tree of Life, so she had personally welcomed her birth and raised her as her own successor.

“Mother.”

“Little Su’er, come here.”

Su Xin smiled and beckoned.

The door closed, and Su’er walked over. But when she looked up, her expression was not its usual obedience.

“Slayer?”
