When Zhuo Nan went out, he wondered how those two had gotten so close. He was very puzzled.
He stood downstairs thinking for a good while, but still couldn’t figure it out.
Wei Shuangling, that person, was stubborn as a mule. She was head over heels for Xiu Yan, so how could she suddenly let her guard down and become good friends with Jing Yueru?
Unless she didn’t like Xiu Yan anymore, or unless Xiu Yan didn’t like Jing Yueru anymore.
But even if either of those situations were true, it still didn’t seem to add up. How could Jing Yueru become friends with Wei Shuangling?
This wasn’t meant to belittle Wei Shuangling, but one would have to be incredibly magnanimous to befriend someone who had previously embarrassed them and caused them trouble. That was being way too big-hearted.
Jing Yueru was known as the Ice Fairy. Because she had a single ice spiritual root and great cultivation talent, she wasn’t talkative and didn’t show her face often. Every time others saw her, she had a blank expression. No matter how he thought about it, this didn’t match the girl he had just seen.
What “aloof and cold”? She looked like she couldn’t wait to stick to Wei Shuangling.
Zhuo Nan racked his brains but couldn’t understand why. He could only attribute it to ‘girlish friendships.’
The friendships between girls were truly magical things. Zhuo Nan had seen this clearly with his own junior sister.
His junior sister was innocent and lively, but she was always at odds with another female cultivator. The two girls couldn’t stand the sight of each other and were always finding ways to mess with one another. But one day, Zhuo Nan saw them going out on a mission together, intimately picking spiritual plants, and he found it very strange.
His junior sister glared at him, thinking he was making a big fuss over nothing.
That’s just how girls were. They could quickly become best friends because they liked the same type of thing, or they could bury the hatchet and become friends because they disliked a common person.
In short, it was very hard to figure them out. Zhuo Nan sighed, wondering what those two were talking about and when they would come down.
Zhuo Nan looked up and saw his junior brother standing at the door of his room, smiling as he pushed it open.
Not good!
Those two girls were talking inside; pushing the door open like this was too impolite!
“Junior Brother, I’m here.”
Zhuo Nan anxiously used his cultivation technique to leap up, but it was already too late. His junior brother had already pushed the door open.
“Whatever it is, we can talk about it later.”
Zhuo Nan pushed his clueless junior brother aside, intending to close the door and apologize himself, but instead, he saw an impactful scene.
Jing Yueru wasn’t facing away from the door anymore, but was turned sideways, so people at the door could clearly see what they were doing.
Hearing the commotion, Jing Yueru straightened up and looked towards the door. With a wave of her hand, she closed the door and then set up a layer of restriction.
After finishing, Jing Yueru felt it wasn’t enough and added two more layers.
Zhuo Nan was already dumbfounded by this point.
He must be hallucinating today, and repeatedly at that.
“Senior Brother, what’s wrong? Is there something in your room?”
The junior brother, who had been pushed aside before seeing anything, looked bewildered and curiously at the dazed Zhuo Nan.
“Nothing.”
Zhuo Nan slowly shook his head, looking utterly dejected.
Zhuo Nan slowly dragged his feet and walked into an adjacent room with an open door.
“Senior Brother…”
The junior brother smiled and walked over too, but almost got his nose hit by the closing wooden door.
“This is my room.”
The smile on the junior brother’s face collapsed, but he was still very curious about Zhuo Nan’s room.
He tried pushing the door as he had just done; it didn’t open. He pushed harder; still no luck. The junior brother persisted, pushing with all his might, but it still didn’t open, and he was repelled.
There was someone inside, and they had set up a restriction. Their strength was higher than his.
After making this judgment, the junior brother thought that since his senior brother didn’t call out or react in any other way, it probably wasn’t a bad person.
Once the junior brother figured this out, he didn’t bother anymore and casually found a room to sit in.
Zhuo Nan was currently organizing his thoughts.
First, he wasn’t blind, nor was he hallucinating.
Second, Wei Shuangling and Jing Yueru had become good friends.
Third, Jing Yueru was kissing Wei Shuangling, and Wei Shuangling wasn’t resisting.
Zhuo Nan recalled what he had first seen: Jing Yueru had Wei Shuangling confined in that black chair. Wei Shuangling had her eyes closed at that time, and when she heard the door open, she opened her eyes in surprise for a moment, then the door was closed.
Wei Shuangling was willing; she even seemed to be enjoying it.
Jing Yueru was very unhappy about being disturbed and even glared at him.
So, regarding those three points, the second point that he couldn’t understand could probably be deduced from the third point.
Wei Shuangling liked Jing Yueru, or rather, Jing Yueru had fallen for Wei Shuangling. They were together!
Wow! So exciting! Super exciting!
Zhuo Nan mentally applauded his deduction like crazy. After calming down, he pondered some more issues.
It’s so strange. Wei Shuangling clearly liked Xiu Yan, and Xiu Yan liked Jing Yueru, so why did Wei Shuangling and Jing Yueru get together?
Does this mean Wei Shuangling doesn’t like Xiu Yan anymore, and in this love triangle, Xiu Yan has been kicked out?
Zhuo Nan couldn’t help but smile when he figured this out. He tried to hold back his laughter, his whole body shaking. Eventually, he couldn’t hold it in anymore and started laughing while slapping the bed.
Hilarious! This was the funniest thing in the cultivation world in many years.
Wei Shuangling didn’t like Xiu Yan anymore. Zhuo Nan was particularly happy. Although Wei Shuangling was with Jing Yueru, it didn’t matter. As long as she wasn’t with Xiu Yan, it was fine.
Zhuo Nan felt like he was bursting with joy; any mental blocks or inner demons were all gone. It didn’t matter!
He just wanted to see Xiu Yan’s face when he found out the truth. He would definitely be dumbstruck. He could laugh about this for years.
Although he didn’t know how those two got together, it was none of Zhuo Nan’s business.
Two female cultivators together, this was indeed an unheard-of thing in the cultivation world. This was because the number of female cultivators was already not very large compared to male cultivators, and most female cultivators had lower cultivation levels than male cultivators.
Zhuo Nan thought perhaps he was just ignorant and ill-informed, or maybe such things had happened before, but people just didn’t publicize them.
Jing Yueru kissed until she was satisfied before letting go of Su Xin.
Su Xin’s eyes were a bit hazy, her lips swollen and red, and her face flushed. It was a sight Jing Yueru could never get enough of.
Su Xin recovered, feeling a bit indignant. She had clearly started it, but Jing Yueru had the advantage in stamina and breath, leading to her defeat.
If she had spiritual energy right now, it wouldn’t be like this.
Jing Yueru’s breathing was steady, and her entwining movements were more forceful, not something Su Xin’s body, which had been rushing about for over a month, could compare to.
“No more.”
Seeing Jing Yueru looking like she hadn’t had enough and wanted to go again, Su Xin quickly stopped her.
“Mm-hmm.”
Jing Yueru continued to stand obediently, looking down at her.
Su Xin had originally wanted to ask if she disliked it or was repulsed by it, but now she couldn’t be bothered. With that look of not having had enough, how could it be repulsion? She probably wished for a few more rounds.
“After asking me your questions, do you have any conclusions?”
Jing Yueru looked completely puzzled. Su Xin sighed, stood up, and patted her shoulder.
“You’re a good person.”
Miss Jing, who had inexplicably received a good person card1, was even more confused.
Su Xin had originally intended to say she would go back with Jing Yueru right now, but at this moment, her stomach rumbled inopportunely.
Jing Yueru looked towards the source of the sound. Su Xin looked innocent.
“I’m hungry.”
The effects of the Bigu pill had worn off. She was very hungry now.
“I have Bigu pills on me.”
Jing Yueru was about to take out a Bigu pill from her storage ring, but Su Xin refused.
“I want to eat something from the human world, can I?”
“You can.”
Jing Yueru nodded. Cultivators like them didn’t eat human food. The first step in cultivation was to abandon the cycle of grains2 and not need to eat, because those things were useless to them. Absorbing them only introduced impurities that had to be expelled, offering no useful spiritual energy.
Su Xin smacked her lips. Since she arrived here, she hadn’t eaten a single bite of real food because cultivators were like little fairies and celestial beings who didn’t need to eat, or even drink water.
The moment Su Xin thought of delicious food, her mouth couldn’t help but water. Even if she wasn’t a foodie, she would never refuse good food when conditions allowed.
“He saw.”
Su Xin remembered the interruption just now. The door probably wasn’t pushed open by Zhuo Nan; he knew they were inside and wasn’t that impolite. But only Zhuo Nan should have seen.
“It’s okay, if he saw, he saw. It’s not a big deal.”
Su Xin nodded, remembering that this was the magical cultivation world.
People in cultivation didn’t have particularly rigid or old-fashioned ideas. It was their freedom to choose whatever kind of Dao companion they sought, regardless of gender.
They wouldn’t care if you were in a relationship with a man or a woman. They were too busy with their own cultivation; wasn’t it a bit nuts3 to stare at other people’s relationship problems?
In the eyes of the righteous path, as long as you weren’t hanging out with those demonic cultivators and people on crooked paths, anything else was fine.
At most, they would only mock differences in cultivation levels, not gender.
In the cultivation world, what mattered was never gender, but cultivation level. As long as you were powerful enough, you had the qualification to do as you pleased4.
Cultivators already had difficulty producing offspring. Apart from cultivation families, sects didn’t care about these issues at all. If someone could have a child, they would naturally be happy and offer blessings, but it had nothing to do with the sect. The top members of sects mostly came from the mortal realm. There were so many people in the mortal realm, and so many who could cultivate, that there was no need to worry about lineage.
After Su Xin thought it through, her mood lightened considerably. Although it was indeed a bit shocking to the world, she wouldn’t be pointed at and criticized.
If this were the modern era, if someone was said to be homosexual, they might be disliked, despised, criticized, spat at, called disgusting, or a menace.
But here, if someone said there was a problem with a person being homosexual, others would only think that person was nuts.
Is your own spiritual energy not enough for cultivation, or are your cultivation techniques not hard enough to learn? Why meddle in other people’s business? Does it have anything to do with you?
This was actually a very good place. As long as you were strong enough, you could change anything.
