Fate Trading System – Chapter 162

Plan A

Spirit Alliance 3

The Boss

A naked young woman appeared in the car’s backseat, her fair skin creating a striking contrast against the seat, stirring an inexplicable feeling in one’s heart.

Chu Qiu maintained her composure as she assessed Su Xin up and down, taking in her physical features before nodding at her adorably innocent face.

Su Xin: What are you nodding about???

“Stay seated in the car, don’t come out. If you’re uncomfortable, you can transform into a hamster and stay in the back. I’m taking you to buy clothes now.”

Chu Qiu appeared to be the type who brooked no argument, with her cold, dominant sister appearance and strong queenly aura. She seemed like someone who rarely smiled, her gaze as sharp as a blade. However, perhaps because they were of the same kind, her expression was quite gentle.

“Alright, are we leaving now?”

Su Xin immediately transformed back into a hamster, not being comfortable with being naked.

“Mm.”

“Miss Great Spirit, could you wait a moment? If you don’t mind, may I let my cousin come in? He has my ID card. Of course, if it’s inconvenient, he can wait outside the car, or I can go talk to him.”

“Let him come in.”

Chu Qiu opened the car door, and Su Xin stood on the sofa, waving to Yangyang who was hiding nearby.

“Cousin, come quick, bring my ID card!”

A black rat scurried in, clutching a card in its mouth.

The rat cousin placed the card on the sofa and gave Su Xin a thumbs up.

“Cousin, you’re amazing!”

Yangyang wanted to say more but suddenly became timid after glancing at the woman standing by the door, frozen in his spot.

“Cousin, I don’t know why, but that woman seems really scary.”

“Cousin, be polite, that’s Miss Great Spirit.”

“Ah, I apologize, I’ll be quiet now.”

Yangyang curled into a tiny ball while Su Xin pulled her ID card underneath herself, admiring how pretty she looked in the ID photo.

Chu Qiu closed the car door and walked to the driver’s seat.

The driver had just come out holding coffee when he saw his boss close the back door and head to the front, preparing to drive herself.

“Boss?”

“Take your coffee and get a taxi to the office. Wait for me there. I need to handle something now.”

“Understood.”

The driver showed no confusion, only compliance.

Chu Qiu had always been someone who meant what she said, and she particularly hated being questioned about her actions.

Chu Qiu drove to the mall and picked out an outfit she thought suitable. There was no need to buy too much; more would come naturally later.

She bought a complete set of clothes, everything from inner to outer wear.

She placed the clothes in the back seat and let Su Xin change by herself.

Chu Qiu took the clothes out of the bags and gave Yangyang a meaningful look. Yangyang immediately dove into one of the bags, proving he absolutely wouldn’t peek or openly watch.

“Go ahead and change.”

Chu Qiu closed the car door and returned to the driver’s seat. The partition was still up, and the windows were designed so that those inside could see out, but outsiders couldn’t see in, so there was no worry about anyone watching.

Su Xin’s hair was slightly curly, and although she was a white hamster, after transforming into human form, she had made her hair black. Wearing cute sky-blue underwear set, a simple letter-print sweatshirt, and jeans, Su Xin looked adorably lively.

“Miss Great Spirit, I’m done changing.”

The clothing tags had all been cut off – Chu Qiu was a very attentive spirit.

Chu Qiu sat in the back seat again, opened the door, lowered the partition, and felt very satisfied seeing Su Xin’s appearance.

“You don’t need to keep calling me that. Here’s my business card. I’m Chu Qiu. By the way, can you read?”

Chu Qiu handed over her business card with the question.

“I can read.”

“You learned?”

“Yes.”

Chu Qiu didn’t probe further, just nodded. The matter was settled – it didn’t matter how she learned to read, only that she could.

Su Xin looked at the business card, which was elegant yet simple: a name, a position, a number, and the company address on the back.

Chairman of Tianyu Entertainment Company, Chu Qiu.

It seemed pretty impressive.

“My name is Su Xin, Su as in Su Shi [sū shì – famous Song Dynasty poet], Xin as in Xin Qiji [xīn qì jí – famous Song Dynasty poet].”

Su Xin said softly with a smile.

“You’re quite a cultured little hamster. Would you like to act?”

“Act? Like what people do in TV dramas?”

“That’s right. You have good looks – with proper packaging, you could become popular.”

Chu Qiu’s calculations were clicking away rapidly as she looked at Su Xin as if seeing a new money tree [yao lan shu – 搖籃樹 – metaphor for profitable investment].

Su Xin thought the boss’s cold and aloof image was starting to crack.

“Acting… I can’t do it. I’m not good at deceiving people.”

In the system space, the hamster girl was panicking. Her little thoughts usually showed on her face – asking her to act seemed impossible, too difficult to accomplish.

Fourteen spoke up, “The one who needs to act isn’t you, but this humble one’s host.”

“Oh, right! Then that’s fine.”

The hamster girl nodded, even becoming somewhat excited.

Fourteen fell silent, puzzled by her strange thought process.

“But I don’t have any education credentials, and I also don’t have…”

Su Xin felt that acting shouldn’t be a problem, but she wasn’t completely confident. Although portraying a character was similar to acting, she wasn’t a professional after all.

“That doesn’t matter. Would you like to make money? Would you like to have many fans? Would you like to be loved by many people?”

Chu Qiu dropped her previous demeanor as she asked.

“I don’t care about those things, but I want to act because I want to help someone.”

“Oh?”

“If I become a star, would I be able to bring others along to act too?”

Su Xin was making this calculation – if she became famous through acting, wouldn’t she be able to help others? She didn’t know about Bai Qianqian’s acting ability, but regardless of skill, she had absolutely no opportunity. In this industry, ability was one thing, but opportunity was even more important.

“Of course you can. Is there someone you want to help?”

“Yes, she’s my benefactor. Miss Great Spirit- no, no, Miss Chu, if I can help her, then I’m willing.”

“Very good. I am the Spirit Alliance’s officially designated entertainment company. I hope you remember this – I never harm any spirits. Plus, I need you all to make money for me, and you’ll get your share of the earnings. You can also contribute to the Spirit Alliance in other ways. It’s a win-win-win situation.”

Chu Qiu showed a satisfied smile, all because the little hamster was so sensible.

Amazing boss, officially designated by the Spirit Alliance…

“Are there many spirits in the entertainment circle?”

“Not too many. After all, spirits who transform into human form are quite varied – some are as beautiful as celestial beings, some are unbearably ugly, and some are just average. Cute ones like you are rare. Here, look at her.”

Chu Qiu took out her phone and searched for a picture – it was of the popular young actress Ji Yu.

Ji Yu wasn’t famous just for her looks. Netizens rated her acting as average, but she wasn’t just a pretty face. She had great fashion sense and jaw-dropping purchasing power.

“She’s a mountain pheasant spirit. Surprising, right? At first, I thought she was a fox, given how she turned out, but her true form is actually a hen. Good thing she’s not a rooster – imagine dealing with morning crows! Still, she’s one of my more successful money trees, with decent public influence.”

Chu Qiu spoke frankly about her being a money tree – spirits didn’t need to be overly sentimental with each other, even though this subordinate was quite afraid of her.

“Look at this one too.”

Chu Qiu searched for another photo – this time of a veteran actor. Though physically small and thin, his acting was powerful. He could play any role; even when his appearance didn’t quite fit, his expressions were top-notch. He had an excellent reputation in the industry and was well-received by the public.

“He’s a parrot spirit, though he’s old now. Truly exceptional.”

Chu Qiu’s expression showed some regret – after all, if he passed away, he couldn’t contribute anymore.

“Overall, there aren’t that many spirits in this industry. Most spirits avoid this line of work because they’re different from others. After all, they’re not really human, and being in the public eye can be uncomfortable. Spirits tend to be free-spirited, preferring to live their own quiet lives. But if you join my entertainment company, I guarantee you won’t suffer. If you’re obedient and work hard, I guarantee you’ll become famous.”

The boss made her promise.

“Okay, okay! Miss Chu, I have one more question.”

Su Xin nodded softly, looking happy. This was like pie falling from heaven. She loved the Spirit Alliance’s mutual aid spirit – it was a duty that couldn’t be refused.

“What question? Go ahead. Later I’ll draw up a contract back at the company. From now on, you can just call me Boss.”

“Okay, Boss. Is your true form a leopard?”

“Why do you ask?”

“Because you seem to really like money – are you a money leopard [jin qian bao – 金錢豹 – wordplay on leopard and money]?”

Su Xin asked with a straight face, though she was barely holding in her laughter.

“Of course not. I’m a wolf.”

Chu Qiu smiled, but her pupils turned an eerie green, reflecting a cold light.

A cunning and fierce wolf.

Su Xin looked surprised – now this was truly a boss.

The power level between a wolf and a hamster – it was obvious who would win without even thinking about it.

Cousin Yangyang trembled in the bag, amazed he was sharing a car with a wolf in his lifetime. It was terrifying – but his cousin was amazing!

“Don’t be afraid. I don’t eat humans, much less rats. Once we enter human society, we must live civilized lives, understand? You can walk on two legs, right?”

“I can, I can! Don’t worry, I’ll definitely adapt well.”

Being originally human, of course she could adapt well.

“Today I’ll have someone arrange accommodation for you. After you sign the contract, I’ll assign you a manager. He’s our company’s ace agent – don’t worry, he’s also a spirit, a tiger spirit.”

Yangyang felt like hitting someone after hearing this – the spirit world was truly terrifying.
