Plan A
Interstellar Guardian 15
C1
Renee was startled; that was true.
She could attempt marking, but it wouldn’t be thorough enough, and she couldn’t see it through to the end, so it would still fail.
But even if it wouldn’t fail, she wouldn’t do it.
The sweet and cloying scent of pheromones lingered around her nose, and Renee frowned uncomfortably.
If no one helps her, she will die.
But right now, no one can save her, and Su Xin is also helpless.
Moran felt like the fire inside her body had reached her brain, making her feel like she’d soon be a fool.
She pinched herself hard, trying to regain a moment of clarity. She saw those two people who had been unwilling to part finally end their kiss and look at her, seeming troubled.
If this is the situation, then wouldn’t Ge Wei and the General be a couple? You know, Renee is famous for her restraint along with her abilities; how could someone like that kiss others so recklessly?
Oh, if those two are a couple, wouldn’t this be awkward for me?
Moran was also really worried about her situation; if she doesn’t have sex, she’ll die, unless she has a suppressant. But the sad thing is, everything happened so suddenly, she didn’t bring any extra suppressants with her. You have to keep these things hidden real well because if anyone finds out, she won’t be able to stay in the military.
Either the General and the other person watch her die without helping, or one of them marks her.
In the first case, she would die; in the second, she would become the third wheel in a relationship.
Moran isn’t blind; she can clearly see that these two people aren’t interested in her at all. They don’t even know each other well, even though she’s an omega.
Either way, it’s a bad situation, and Moran thinks the first scenario is more likely.
Given Renee the General’s personality, she wouldn’t compromise herself just to save someone, especially with her lover right there. Asking her lover to help is even less likely since Moran can sense a strong possessiveness.
Should she just commit seppuku right now? (Seppuku is a form of ritual suicide by disembowelment, historically practiced by samurai in Japan to restore or protect honor.)
Su Xin called out to Fourteen in her mind, asking if it could provide a suppressant. Fourteen agreed quickly, but with the usual condition.
【I’ll give you a discount; how about one-twelfth of your life value?】
Wow, you’re actually giving me a friend discount?
【Don’t need it?】
Need it, need it, that’s great, that’s great.
A syringe dropped into Su Xin’s hand, and she approached the trembling omega, seemingly not bothered by this.
“Did you bring a suppressant?”
Su Xin held Moran’s medicine, and Moran, already confused from the heat, instinctively wanted to shake her head.
Su Xin injected the suppressant into her, giving her a smile.
“Even if you brought it, it’s better to use it.”
Although this put the blame on Moran, there was no other way. Otherwise, Su Xin couldn’t explain how she got this thing out of nowhere.
Even though this might easily make Moran look like a scheming girl, Su Xin didn’t mean to do it. Special situations require special treatment, right? If she didn’t help, this girl might not make it through today.
To be fair, if Moran was really trying to take the chance to seduce Renee, or had thoughts of wanting to be marked, Su Xin wouldn’t save her because it wouldn’t be worth it.
Having an omega on the battlefield is already a very dangerous thing. This isn’t just about an omega’s abilities; if an omega goes into heat in a public place, it would become chaotic. The alphas would fight each other for mating rights, which could lead to a disaster, especially on the battlefield, where the losses would be unimaginable!
Renee looked at her, and her face didn’t show any emotion. Su Xin met her gaze, looking serious and straightforward.
Moran opened her eyes groggily, immediately on alert, and then remembered what had happened before.
Hey, hey, hey? Not marked, all good!
This… Moran had a puzzled look on her face, trying to recall her last memory, which was Su Xin’s smile.
So, does this mean Su Xin saved her?
“I found the suppressant you were carrying.”
Su Xin said in a calm tone.
“But I…”
“Maybe you forgot; otherwise, where would we get the suppressant from?”
Su Xin said firmly, leaving no room for doubt.
Su Xin’s attitude left Moran confused. She clearly remembered… well… maybe she just forgot.
“Seems like I did bring it; the situation was too sudden before…”
Moran said apologetically, then nervously glanced at Renee, who was standing to the side.
Moran’s reaction was, of course, influenced by Fourteen. It altered Moran’s memory.
Since Moran isn’t a main character, changing her memory doesn’t break any rules. Su Xin actually wanted Fourteen to also alter Renee’s memory, to make her believe everything made sense, but Fourteen refused. The reason was similar to why it helped clear Moran’s memory—because of the rules. The implication was that Renee is a main character in this world.
Determining a main character is very straightforward and rough—it’s someone who has a significant impact on the world.
The “rules” are the highest existence in the world, non-physical, and they protect the world order from being destroyed.
Renee thought it was strange, but she couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was strange.
“General.”
Moran stood in a standard military posture, looking as if she was asking for forgiveness.
According to the Federation’s laws, Moran’s behavior is indeed a crime. Although it isn’t something like a capital offense, at most, it would be labeled as an “attempted military obstruction.” Even if she were sent to a military court, she wouldn’t face severe punishment. Instead, she’d be sent home to marry and have children, never allowed to touch related matters again, no matter what achievements she had previously gained.
Achievements are also graded. Reaching Renee’s level is a different matter altogether. Moran is still considered a minor character, so dealing with her doesn’t matter much. Moran herself knows this, so she first admits her guilt, hoping for forgiveness. She doesn’t want to marry now, nor does she want to leave her beloved battlefield.
From her initial stubbornness and unwillingness to accept defeat, trying to overcome the discrimination brought by her bloodline and genes, she truly fell in love with the feeling of striving as a soldier. Although it’s hard and tiring, it isn’t empty, much better than being stuck at home having babies.
“You should be aware of the danger an omega poses on the battlefield.”
Renee’s voice was colder than usual, making one feel chilled to the bone. She stared sharply at Moran, showing her authority as a General.
“Yes, General, I am guilty.”
Moran didn’t argue or explain; she just quietly admitted her mistake.
“Have you thought about what would happen if your suppressant failed on the battlefield today?”
That scenario, Moran dared not and did not want to imagine.
If her suppressant failed while fighting against the insect beasts, she would enter her heat period. The omega’s pheromones would spread across the battlefield, causing those excellent alpha warriors piloting the mechas to lose control and fight each other for mating rights. At that point, they would have no chance against the insect beast army, and their side would already be in chaos.
And she is a soldier fighting on the front lines, which means the front lines would fall. Every battle is recorded in real-time and synced to the light net, where the public can see it. This prevents anyone with bad intentions from doing sneaky things on the battlefield, but such chaotic scenes would also be broadcast.
She, Moran, someone who wants to wholeheartedly serve her country, would become a criminal of this nation, condemned by the public. She would eventually be sent to a military court, regardless of whether she was a marked omega, and she would face military punishment, ruining her life completely.
Moran was forced to think about these consequences, looking extremely distressed and guilty.
Luckily, none of this really happened, but Moran understood that she was always a hidden danger.
“General, I earnestly ask you not to make this matter public. If I can go back alive, I will immediately resign and never enter the military again.”
Moran’s mood was heavy, and her tone was very low.
What could she do after not being a soldier? Open a small shop on another planet and quietly live as an omega disguised as a beta, waiting for the day when the suppressants run out, then be marked, marry, and have children?
That’s probably what life would be like, but it sounds so dull and lifeless.
“I didn’t make such a demand.”
Renee’s tone sounded a bit better, and as she looked at Moran, her expression gradually warmed.
“Huh? General?”
Moran’s tone was both surprised and delighted, afraid she had misunderstood.
Did the General’s words mean she could still stay in the military?
“Soldier, what do you think an omega is?”
“A human meant for producing excellent offspring, a weak dependent.”
Moran said through gritted teeth. In fact, the public’s stereotype of omegas is indeed like this. Omegas are seen as dependents, like beautiful but fragile dodder flowers, clinging to alphas. (The dodder flower is a parasitic plant, often used metaphorically to describe something or someone dependent on others for support.)
“Sometimes physical weakness isn’t true weakness; it lies in your mind and your heart. Soldier, instincts cannot be refused or discarded, but they aren’t absolute.”
Renee now seemed like she was giving an academic lecture. Her expression was serious and solemn, carrying a convincing charm.
Instincts are called instincts for a reason; they aren’t a sin.
The heat of an omega is a sign of their maturity, meaning they can leave their youth behind and become adults who can take on responsibilities.
The responsibility of reproduction was initially placed on omegas by alphas, but later, they put it on themselves. Their habitual reliance and comfort made them evolve more in this way, along with the guidance from the government. This is why most omegas are delicate.
Moran very much hated her omega identity. Sometimes she thought she could overcome her instincts, but this self-assurance was shattered just now. She couldn’t resist that temptation, revealing her most embarrassing desires.
True weakness isn’t in your body, but in your mind and heart.
“Do you keep your omega identity because you hope to meet someone you love dearly someday and have children with them?”
Moran couldn’t argue with this question because it was true. She wanted to contribute to her country first and then meet someone she loved and have a child with them. Actually, Renee was always that person in Moran’s heart, but now Moran has completely abandoned those romantic thoughts. She still admires Renee but now feels more fear. Furthermore, since Renee now has a lover, it’s even more impossible to intrude.
“Soldier, you can’t have both fish and bear’s paw.” (a Chinese idiom meaning you can’t have it all; you must make a choice between two desirable things.)
Renee sighed slightly, looking at Moran as if looking at a naive and greedy child.
Su Xin’s impression of Renee changed again, thinking she also has great potential to be a sweet talker.
At first, she thought Renee was a distant and dangerous superior, suspicious and ruthless.
Later, she found out that Renee was quite innocent. Her personality and status never allowed her to relax, and she disliked certain things, but after experiencing it, well, the innocent General was no longer there.
Nowadays, Su Xin finds Renee to be very articulate. Her inaugural speech was also very impressive, but under the influence of her strong combat abilities, her other side doesn’t seem as dazzling. Instead, she is seen as cold, solemn, and quiet.
Moran was taken aback, her emotions somewhat out of control. Her face showed unwillingness and even questioning as she spoke.
“Why? Is it just because I’m an omega? Why can those betas and alphas still marry and have children after leaving the battlefield, or even now?”
Moran was afraid to fall in love, partly because she didn’t feel like it, partly because she admired Renee, and partly out of fear.
“Indeed, it’s because you are an omega.”
Renee’s answer was too direct. Isn’t that how all these issues started?
“This is not something I can decide!”
“So complaining is useless, just like you can’t change being born an omega. Some are born nobles, some are born commoners. If you really want to argue, it would only lead to more resentment. Soldier, you should understand what I mean. If you want to continue on the battlefield, you should give up your ability.”
The ability to bear children, which means removing the gland.
This surgery is even more thorough than the one Su Xin underwent. Su Xin had organs removed and the gland’s reception ability altered, which is almost like being half-disabled. However, for an alpha, it only means they can’t have sex or father children, similar to being a eunuch. But if an omega undergoes gland removal surgery, they lose their ability to reproduce.
There would be no heat, physical strength would be enhanced, and pheromones would be lost.
Yes, lost—not just perceived weakly like with betas.
This might not sound like a problem, but in the star ranks, it’s like being a monster.
Even Moran, who doesn’t like her identity, never thought about removing her glands and instead chose suppressants.
Not everyone can do what Su Xin did, and Su Xin managed to do it without batting an eye because she isn’t native to this place. In her original world, she was just a normal woman, and she got rid of it shortly after arriving here, without having time to develop any attachment.
Ding Ding: No desire to develop, thank you.
“Are you willing?”
Renee’s expression remained serious. In fact, if there were outsiders present, what Renee was suggesting would undoubtedly be considered a crime.
Omegas are resources protected by the state, and asking an omega to give up their ability to reproduce is like stripping them of their social value.
“I…”
Moran was thinking, worried about an uncertain future.
Su Xin curiously observed Renee’s back, but looked away when Renee seemed to notice.
What is Renee trying to do?
The air returned to silence as Renee walked over to Su Xin, fiddling with the light brain on her wrist.
The light brain wasn’t broken, just unusable, like a phone with power but no internet or SIM card. It couldn’t even play simple games and was shaped like a bracelet, not even useful as a brick.
During an omega’s heat, one suppressant isn’t enough; at least three or four are needed. But Fourteen said that anything produced by the system must be good, one is better than six.
Su Xin agreed, after all, one-twelfth of a life value. In the mermaid world, she had exchanged one-twelfth of her life for a dagger. Although it looked plain and ordinary, it could cut through iron like mud, very sharp.
The wind picked up.
The sound of the wind echoed outside the cave, and looking out, there wasn’t a bit of green to be seen.
Su Xin leaned against the wall, daydreaming, chatting idly with Fourteen, and didn’t feel bored.
In this world, she was quite passive, passively accepting everything because of her character setting and her unfamiliarity with this world.
In front of Renee, the original Ge Wei had a relationship of dominance and obedience. Following orders is the duty of a soldier, and although Su Xin is now essentially retired, she holds no position or power in the military. She is merely a personal confidant by Renee’s side.
To say she’s a confidant isn’t entirely accurate; more bluntly, she’s a bodyguard, a free and voluntary one.
Su Xin knew nothing about Renee’s work matters. In fact, she wasn’t too willing to get involved. In the face of the vast power structure, she was just an insignificant little shrimp.
Why bother with so much? As long as she protects Renee, she’s ready to give her life at any time, Su Xin thought.
Renee was daydreaming.
After ten minutes, Renee snapped out of her daze and found her behavior hard to understand. She always considered daydreaming a boring and life-wasting activity, yet here she was doing it herself, and the reason was the person beside her.
Renee was thinking about her future. If she got out of here and settled everything, how would she continue?
Having someone intrude into her life made her uncomfortable, but Renee treated it with an attitude of both surveillance and indifference. She thought she could slowly get used to it. However, when that person, who couldn’t be fully trusted, changed their role, the situation became more complex.
Renee could no longer maintain an indifferent attitude towards Su Xin. Every move Su Xin made affected her.
This isn’t good, Renee told herself. She needed to make a change.
Su Xin half-closed her eyes, and then simply shut them completely, preparing for a short rest.
In the system space, Ge Wei was very curious about how Su Xin saved Renee, because the screen had been blacked out. When it lit up again, they were already inside the cave, all three silent.
Fourteen didn’t know how to answer her, choosing to remain silent. It had intended to resume the projection after Su Xin and Renee came out, but who knew they would end up kissing and hugging again that night, and even kissed again not long ago. So, it had to keep the screen black to prevent Ge Wei from seeing.
Having the screen full of mosaics would be hard to explain, so it’s better for Ge Wei not to see anything.
“Looks like this client is really amazing. Handsome, are you really not going to tell me how she saved the General?”
Ge Wei shouted in the system space.
Fourteen played dead, thinking that the truth was too harsh, and it was better to let Ge Wei keep her beautiful mind intact.
Su Xin hadn’t heard Moran’s answer yet and was about to leave.
Renee walked about three meters away from Su Xin, and Su Xin quickly followed, noticing the aircraft not far from them in the direction Renee was looking.
As soon as Moran saw them moving, she adjusted her clothes and walked behind them, intending to return the clothes she was wearing to Su Xin.
Su Xin was still wearing Renee’s clothes, so Moran, with a slight shake of her hand, returned Su Xin’s clothes to Renee.
Renee took them but didn’t put them on.
Su Xin’s scent had already faded from them, replaced by a different, unfamiliar smell.
“Let’s go.”
The aircraft landed in this open space, Renee said.
Su Xin knew that Renee would never let herself fall into a difficult situation, and indeed, she was prepared.
The blond man sitting in front looked at Renee and Moran with surprise and then started the aircraft.
“Is everything handled?”
“As you expected, but we ran into a little trouble. Because it happened suddenly, we had to change our strategy.”
The blond man thought about the last orders he received and couldn’t help but admire the General’s strategy.
“This is a new light brain; your old one has been canceled by the government.”
The blond man spoke with a hint of indignation, but the aircraft remained steady.
“Yes, have them increase vigilance. The Queen has developed human consciousness.”
Renee’s expression was serious, and as soon as she touched the light brain, her fingers quickly danced across the light screen.
“What?”
The blond man’s body shook, and his eyes widened.
Internal and external troubles.
Renee looked at the vast sea of stars outside the aircraft. She really didn’t want to collaborate or serve those who wanted her dead, but the people living in this huge star system were innocent.
Renee couldn’t allow the insect beast army to trample her homeland, even though she didn’t like this world. The Queen had developed consciousness, and her powerful mental strength could control people, making it difficult for even Renee to resist. When the insect beast army invades, what will happen to this country?
It’s not that Renee is boasting, thinking the country has no other capable generals besides her. The other two generals are also very capable, and there are many excellent soldiers in the army. However, it’s still not enough. Military reform is absolutely necessary; the organization has gradually become corrupt. Renee wants to let go, but she can’t.
Having been in this position for so long, she really thought she was some kind of savior.
Renee mocked herself as she began her next deployment.
At first, she didn’t think she would get involved with the insect beast army. From the information she had, those people were using other methods to deal with her. But the actions of the insect beasts were too sudden, disrupting many people’s plans, including Renee’s own.
At the moment she got swept in, she sent several coordinates to her subordinates, precisely the location on this planet.
If she could get out of the insect beasts’ base without transportation and without losing the ability to jump with her mech, Renee had been a general for so long, starting as a soldier. She didn’t know how many times she had fought the insect beasts and had once infiltrated the enemy’s camp, exploring the best attack and escape points without anyone knowing.
She had long known that the place where she hid for several days was the coldest on this planet. The insect beasts like warmth and heat but dislike the cold.
Su Xin listened quietly to their conversation, her heart pounding at Renee’s careful planning and foresight. How did this woman determine her escape location the moment something happened to her? It was as if she had the confidence that she could survive.
But things still had variables, like how Renee didn’t anticipate that the insect beast army took her to mate with the Queen. If Su Xin hadn’t been there or if it had been someone else, things might not have been so peaceful now.
If everything had continued without Su Xin’s interference, Renee might have ended up blowing up these insects.
But there are no “ifs.” Everything in this world is quite mysterious; there is always cause and effect.
Throughout the whole process, Moran was the only one in a daze. Hearing these things was like hearing something unbelievable.
Moran simply thought it was just an accident. She didn’t know about the unspoken story between the Queen, Renee, and Su Xin, nor was she aware of the targeting against Renee. So, as a clueless fangirl, she became even angrier.
“Why would the government do this? What benefit do they get? Why would they persecute such an excellent general like you, who has contributed so much to the country?”
Moran was fuming, clutching the unusable light brain in her hand, looking very indignant.
This is what many netizens want to ask, but the truth is actually very simple.
When a star’s light becomes too dazzling, almost overshadowing the moon it supports, the moon will get angry. (This metaphor explains how a person or entity outshining others can provoke a reaction from those who feel overshadowed.)
The vast array of stars and the moon cannot coexist. When the starry sky is full of stars, the moon will not be present. When the moon appears, only a few faint stars remain.
Renee is like the finest sword, clearing the way for the country. If the country no longer needs her or cannot accommodate her anymore, they will take action.
After all, Renee is just a person who climbed up with her own abilities, not a machine. When they realized that Renee’s capabilities exceeded their expectations, they began to urgently try to reclaim control.
Su Xin felt a bit of sympathy for Renee. Strictly speaking, Renee wasn’t a good person, somewhat similar to Su Xin herself.
If Su Xin were in Renee’s position, she would make the same moves. However, if Su Xin were Renee, she wouldn’t have chosen Renee’s path from the start. She wouldn’t join the military; instead, she might become a pirate or a skilled assassin, lingering on the edges while pretending to be an ordinary person.
Taking orders in the military would be worse than killing her outright.
Su Xin hated being controlled. In the organization, she was known for being unconventional. With no family or attachments, her only friend was someone equally strong, so she didn’t worry about being threatened.
No one answered Moran’s question. Renee was busy with her light brain, and the blond young man piloting the aircraft fell silent, looking at the starry sea outside. Su Xin didn’t answer either, focusing only on Renee’s profile.
Moran gradually understood something, just like when she was questioned by Renee in the cave not long ago.
“General, may I ask you to arrange a surgery for me someday in the future?”
Saying this, Moran felt much lighter. She went to the battlefield because she admired how Renee, though a beta, rose to the rank of general with sheer power. It was partly due to not wanting to lose, and later, she genuinely wanted to protect the country. But now, she felt anxious about the military she served, yet her guiding light, her lighthouse, was always shining on her, leading her in the right direction.
She steadfastly followed the General, the reason she gritted her teeth and kept going whenever she felt like giving up.
Moran’s feelings for Renee were complex—admiration mixed with fear, yet she remained rational. Within the boundaries of her values, she judged right from wrong. She believed Renee was always the right presence, and those who sought to snuff out her inner sun were enemies.
Su Xin was surprised by her decision, as asking a normal girl to give up her ability to become a mother wasn’t an easy thing. But it was Moran’s only chance to stay on the battlefield.
If Su Xin knew what Moran was thinking, she would definitely shout “cult!” This is really good at winning people’s hearts.
“Okay, when I have the time.”
Renee didn’t seem surprised at all by Moran’s decision. Her gaze shifted from the light screen to Moran, still expressionless but with a calming presence.
“Mm.”
Seeing Renee’s approving attitude, Moran nodded excitedly.
The world of fangirls is really hard to understand.
Su Xin pursed her lips, staring at the floor in a daze.
It’s impossible for her to worship anyone like a deity. She’s never been a fan of celebrities or had a crush on anyone for their looks. If she had to say who she thought looked the best, it would definitely be Qiu Qingqing. It’s not that she was praising Qiu Qingqing’s stunning beauty, but simply that Qiu Qingqing was the most pleasant person for her to look at, a face she would never get tired of.
Su Xin thought of her friend, wondering what she was doing now. When she left, time was forbidden, so the whole world should have paused. If Qiu Qingqing was in the bathroom at that moment, it would be interesting. If she could go back and see her frozen, it would surely be amusing.
Su Xin couldn’t help but smile, but then her mood dropped again.
Qiu Qingqing doesn’t know that she’s already dead. Su Xin wants to keep living, not just for herself but also for Qiu Qingqing.
The purpose isn’t particularly noble; it’s actually quite selfish.
Qiu Qingqing is the only person Su Xin knows well in this world, and Su Xin doesn’t have the energy to make other friends in that world, not just because of her identity and secrets. If even the only person she knows is gone, then what’s the point of living in this world? Su Xin thought this way, and she felt Qiu Qingqing would think the same.
Su Xin can’t imagine how painful it would be for Qiu Qingqing after she leaves, nor can she bear the thought of someone else filling the void for Qiu Qingqing after she’s gone.
Who would keep missing a dead friend forever? Even if they miss them, how deep could it really be?
Su Xin thought her ideas were a bit strange, and Fourteen noticed something was off about her, but didn’t know what it was.
Unless Su Xin intentionally spoke about it, Fourteen wouldn’t know what she was thinking inside.
“Who are you thinking about?”
Renee turned around and saw Su Xin looking absent-minded, smiling at one moment and then looking sad, as if remembering something. Renee instinctively thought she was recalling someone.
“Hmm? No one.”
Su Xin instinctively shook her head, pressing her lips tightly, and sank back into her own world. In that world, there was nothing else, only Qiu Qingqing, who always showed her a gentle smile.
The atmosphere around Renee turned a bit colder, and both Moran and the blond young man noticed, but Su Xin still kept her head down, lost in thought.
The aircraft didn’t head toward the central star, avoided the AB star system, and didn’t go back to Renee’s home. Instead, it headed toward the gray area, C1 star.
Because the journey was quite far, almost crossing two major star systems, the travel time was longer.
“Boss, I’ll head back first and keep watch, waiting for the day you return.”
The blond young man saluted Renee, but it wasn’t a military salute, more like a special way of communicating between them.
“Mm.”
C1 star could be considered a familiar old place for Renee, almost like a hometown.
Back then, she was just a ruthless, ugly, and small child here; no one would have connected her with the high-ranking general she would become.
On C1 star, beauty is considered a crime. Those who are beautiful and survive well are often seen as dangerous.
Back then, Renee couldn’t afford to show her true self because she was too weak, so she had to disguise herself. Even now, Renee needs to hide her identity because her face is too recognizable. In the starry universe, everyone knows General Renee’s name, and the various factions on C1 star have long memorized her face.
Renee got off the aircraft in a hidden place and changed her face. To be cautious, she also altered the appearances of Su Xin and Moran.
Renee’s once beautiful face became plain and ordinary, making her whole demeanor sharper, with a deep aura of hostility.
The more ordinary you look on C1 star, the more dangerous it becomes. Fighting, betrayal, darkness, and robbery are the norm here.
Su Xin’s face changed significantly too, losing its original spirited look and becoming a bit more carefree and sloppy, like a completely different person.
Moran needed the most caution; being an omega made her too vulnerable, and the rigid military traces she carried were too obvious. Such a person might not stand out in a military academy, on the frontier, or the central star, but on C1 star, she was like a glaring spotlight.
Not just the face, but her entire appearance needed to be changed.
The blond young man had clearly set things up here, and after he left, someone came to meet Renee.
“Boss.”
It was a black-haired kid, looking just over ten years old, with a soft, pinkish appearance.
“Mia, long time no see.”
Renee patted the child’s hair, and Mia gave a cute smile.
“What a cute kid.”
Moran’s eyes lit up, wanting to pat Mia’s head like Renee did to show affection, but she quickly pulled her hand back.
A blood mark appeared on her previously fair palm, not deep, just like a warning.
“Next time you touch me suddenly, don’t expect to keep your hand.”
Mia said coldly, no longer the little angel from before, looking more like an unfeeling little devil. Moran was startled by her sudden change of expression and felt a bit bewildered.
“Here, never trust or touch a stranger casually, whether it’s a cute kid like me or a pitiful old person. Do you understand? If you act recklessly like today, dealing with your body would be a small matter; exposing the boss’s whereabouts would mean you can’t die enough times.”
Mia, though small, spoke bluntly.
Moran nodded, clearly shaken by the experience.
Su Xin was quite used to this. In the organization, there was a little girl with dwarfism. Her small size limited her space but also served as an advantage, allowing her to strike unsuspecting people because she looked adorable, like a little angel. Who would guard against such a child? Su Xin hadn’t interacted much with her, just seen her a few times.
The living place had a nice environment, with three floors. Although the exterior looked a bit odd, on C1 star, what is normal is actually strange.
This is an alternative world. Beauty and ugliness aren’t reversed, but people’s hearts are indeed chaotic. Everyone here has their own story.
“Boss, you’re in the first room on the second floor. You stay next to the boss, and you too. What’s your name? A fake name is fine.”
Mia looked at Su Xin and Moran, tilting his little head.
“Su Xin.”
“Bell.”
Mia repeated the names twice, then nodded.
As soon as Su Xin stepped into her room, she noticed Renee following her in.
“You still haven’t told me who you were thinking about.”
